my worry was that the door opens without the lock now, and i think i might have to replace the whole assembly, not just the lock

Very easy..... Drill lock through, once lock is off, lift garage door and replace lock....

Looks like you already have access to the garage... Just buy like4like and replace.........

NB : Be careful what's inside..... Might require yellow tape isolation........... grin
Please can you translate for us mortals. I don't have the key, so i can't take out the lock when i unbolt it

Mamatukwas,

Husband has the Wahl vogue,I don't know how to classify it.

He was forming money saving DIY barber and ended up giving the son a life changing haircut.

As in I looked at my son and I could not talk,I wanted to laugh and wanted to cry..he almost scalped him in the name of haircut, left a shiny mess.I just told the boy that it's a cool hairstyle in Nigeria.

Since that day,it's been the barber £25 for both of them but at least I know the aftermath is a nice haircut not ayamatanga.

DIY is not for him.

Please know where your own husband falls in to avoid stories that touch.
True talk, this is me after buying £100 cordless clipper, only to remember i even had an old wahl from nigeria

Why I don't recommend that is because its for professional barbers. Also, the blades are metal and don't have rechargeable batteries.
The one I use has ceramic blades and you can use anywhere especially in front of the bathroom mirror. But if you are a rastaferian, that wahl one will work for you.
tried cutting my hair myself, it's all fun and games till the day youhave to shave it skin aftermaking mistake, and then the barber is ur friend which is about a month when my hair grew back...I'ma shower, not a grower wink

If you have time try edit/shuffle details of your quote such as job title eg. Secretary to PA, mileage allowance and other little things before you choose. Takes a lot of time but worth it.

Also if possible pay at once rather than put it on direct debit, comes out way cheaper
aviva is interest free on monthly payment

Hi,@Lexus430 and other fam, please what's your take on buying Lexus IS 250 automatic 2012 with 58k miles for £9,700.Any reviews from those that have used Lexus will be appreciated. Thanks
Its got a high fuel consumption, high tax and the boot is useless for carrying medium size boxes + rear seats don't collapse....Is it the sport mode....otherwise...too expensive
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by DaveChapelle: 9:59am On Apr 19, 2019
Lexusgs430:
+ - £700 + - less mileage or so..... Seems to be the going rate......

Loads of things to consider, how are you funding it? Value at the end of term if financing? Have you considered slightly older model, at almost £3/4K savings, possibly with slightly higher miles? Etc etc

If you have worked your figures out, and it works..... Unfortunately, it seems it's the going rate in 2019.....

Buy with your brain and not your heart...............

My E-fam, I need advise biko. Our car is still having the transmission issues despite updating d software and whatnot and we have to fix it ourselves since we dont have extended warranty.

We have decided to sell it once all it's fixed and now trying to research on cars with reliable manufacturers.

It is between Peugeot 2008 or Renaultt captur but more inclined towards the Peugeot. Does anyone have experience with both make or any other suggestion on a car with much legroom than saloon or MPV cars and good capacity for load.

Thank you.
why not a lexus RX450H?

Boss pls explain the police clearance process to me. I called a police man who asked my wife to go to the local police station in the UK, then thumb print and scan that to him, then he can proceed. She got to the police station and they said it's 74 pounds and she ran away. What is the normal step?
that's one of the ways. But the person I contacted in Nigeria sent me a form to thumb print and scan back to her

My first car was a cheap peugeot runaround I bought for £995 from my local dealer, it served me very well for over 4 years. I only changed it last year for a 2015 model with low mileage. Personally, I would advice that you should never use finance/loans to buy a car. Buy a good car you can afford. If you feel you are loaded and have money to throw around every month, use the money to pay off your mortgage. If you have paid off your mortgage, invest the excess money in properties for rent, trade in shares/stocks etc. I see a lot of people borrowing to buy cars when they are still living in a home they do not own.
Just out of curiosity....how much did it cost to maintain the Peugeot over the years you used it? I initially wanted to do this, but i guess my choice of a lexus was probably not a good banger.

Apart from the initial insurance, maintenance while using it, new tires, brake caliper change, A/C which i didn't fix, i think the additional maintenance over the 10 months had potential of equating buying a fairly new car in terms of the value i had to put into the car to use it....I mean if i had a new car, it was probably equal in value to what was spent on the old car!

The other reason taken lightly are safety features in new cars these days, Your blind spot monitoring and 360' camera, reversing sensors, rear cameras....I regard myself an expert driver, but i have reversed into obstacles at night, and few times on the highway coincidentally changing lanes when others were, and we were both in each other's blind spots!...Luckily i escaped these events, with the BSM, i havent had these issues....So sometimes, an old car can be a gamble and you still end up spending more as if you bought a fairly new car
