lexy2014:Sorry I meant traversing. Their wares are sold across,.West and Central countries. Their wares are finest because that's what it's, I toured some clusters in Aba in 2019, I wowed by what I saw, I realized that most of wares sold by ibo traders in Nigeria and nearby countries are not imported from Europe and Asia |
lexy2014:Because they make the finest wares around I consider Aba as hub fashion in Africa not just Nigeria, especially in textile and leather fashion products I don't know of any place in Nigeria that has a bigger textile and leather fashion cluster than Aba. I live in Cameroon and know the tons of Aba wares that come here and trapasses into Gabon, CAR and E. Guinea. |
lexy2014:Because it's. It's not up for debate. Tons of shoes, slippers, singlet, boxers, shirts, polo, trousers are imported into many African countries especially in West and Central Africa countries from Aba. |
Ekpeitit:I guess you're now a king in current Nigeria |
ThickSharon123:Thank you dear. My father was very close to his maternal Aro roots. A maternal uncle mentored him in business back in portharcourth back in 1950s after the 1961 Cameroon plebiscite. They both relocated to Cameroon. My dad settled their and married Ambazonian (my mum) Many of our people here are very close to Igbos and we see them as our own people |
tradepunter:Such don't think ibos are the tribal war & conquest type of people. If they were, they would have run over small ethnic groups around them, like mine to expand their territory |
tradepunter:We're still saying same thing. No sovereign state is denied access to the Nile. The truth is that if ibos secede from Nigeria , they will become a sovereign state enjoying previleges accorded to states and lots of bilateral and multi lateral agreements will be signed covering several areas including ports and water ways As for using Visas, definitely they will be part of Ecowas which will give them member status covering movement of goods and services. As for their rivers, i have seen the Niger at Onitsha, its not small. And same goes for the one which seperate rivers and akwa Ibom. With money and technology you can do anything you want. I'm glad you talked about united south but the truth is that I don't see anything happening in the south south especially concerning Nigeria's future. There's literally no synergy among ethnic groups and such gives me worries. If poo hits the fan, believe every group will embark on their respective survival. This is major reason I want people from my group and state to keep it cool with ibos because as things stands in Nigeria.... It's very scary especially for Lil minority group like mine |
ThickSharon123:thank you. Well it will interest you to know that my grandmother is from Aro Chukwu who married a Yakurr man from cross river (my grandpa). I also have igbo blood just like many people in cross river and we're proud to fluant it Growing up in the Anglophone Cameroon and traveling across west and Central Africa opened up my view to many things I see things from bigger angle |
tradepunter:The idea of ibos being landlocked is a narrative that must be discouraged among our people because it creates a false impression which paints a false picture on ground that gives our people a sense of entitlement. Most of SS people now feel that ibos are without options but the reality is that they have lots of options for international waterway which will only cost them them money to develop if they want to. The undeniable truth is that if ibos secede from Nigeria today with out any coastline areas..... Nobody will deny them access to the sea because their rivers empties directly into the sea and these rivers are wide and navigable. Let's bury the idea of that we're doing them a favor. We should be pushing for cooperation |
tradepunter:If you're from South South, Encourage your friends and people to stop the online igbo bashing. I having been screaming thus for years It does not help our when we fight ibos Because no Igbo business people will use any port in our region if keep all these necessary banters. |
horsepower102:Thank you. I spent a lot of time with my maternal family in Cameroon, and I know what I'm talking about. Many Ambazonians are even regretting the roles of their fathers in anti igbo campaigns during the 1940's and 50's but today they've embraced Igbo people and they are working together even with ipob. Akwa Ibom and cross river is very strategic to igbo international economy because we're on the eastern economic corridor which connects with Ambazonia, French Cameroon, Gabon, central Africa republic down to central and East Africa countries. If you embark on bus trips on areas would see hundreds of Igbo merchants who get their goods from ịgbo land In future I believe Ambazonia will be connect to igbo land via speed rail which will pass through akwa Ibom and cross river down to Ambazonian areas and other eastern countries That's my prayer, such move will make our areas an ocean of prosperity |
InoGetJoy:I think this has cost them alot |
SisterFire:What about other Rivers groups especially those who feels ibos want steal their land and resources. Finally, I think ikwerre Igbo denial cost them a lost especially in non oil investments |
tradepunter:That's why I tell our people to stand down when some people in Niger delta starts Mocking ibos, it's not strategic or profitable |
Echoban:The owners of Lagos will never allow you to chase ibos. I won't try such if I'm a Lagosian |
otokx:Maybe because No importer from anambra is confident enough to send goods through it. I urge the people from their to stop being Igbophobic and build solid relationships with Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi business communities |
This is one one reason I will always advice my people (folks from cross river and akwa Ibom) Never to join the those who speak ill and do harm to igbo folks. Our region has a lot of paternship to work on. Oil is not the future but IT, Innovation, manufacturing and industry..... Igbos are doing well in these areas. Before the Cameroonian crises deteriorated thousands of igbo goods were coming into Cameroon from aba Onitsha and Nnewi. Our people have a lot to benefit from friendly partnership with Igbos I think a major reason igbos are using portharcourth port is due to low investorial confidence they have in the region. If you're from akwa Ibom and cross river better desist from anti igbo rhetorics |
busybiz:Sorry to interrupt. But Igbos have one of the Finest rural areas in this continent. Most of their rural areas are becoming urban areas. I have been on road trips through a lot of west and Central African countries and I can't tell you that their rural areas or villages are one of the Finest around |
baralatie:With horizontal drilling technique Oil exploitation firm does not need to be in "Ogoni" physically to drilling oil well. |
baralatie:Check your map and then revisit of Horizontal drilling. Shell doesn't need to be in ogoni land physically to exploit oil. I got this from an expert in the industry. Shell later sold out the bloc to some ibo men, Tony Elumelu and Trans Corp clique, including Val Ozigbo from anambra |
nedekid:Bros, I don't buy the idea of cutting off your head because you have headache. That being said. What kind of dialogue are you talking about? Giving money to militants or Agitators? Then they go in ghost mode and comes out once the money finishes. Sit down and think about the progress of the ND militancy approach and then look deeper in to the environmental issues they've created. As for Southeast or ibos, they have their own plans and it's working for them. Again forget the issue of landlocked because they're not.if they secede from Nigeria today, they will conduct international trade and life will move on. Talking about about being landlocked, how many ports in entire south south are "Internationally functionally"? Onne Port witnessed some activities in recent times thanks to patronage from south east merchants. Lemme tell you this for free, FG is crushing southeast because they see them as a REAL THREAT which strikes fear. |
baralatie:Bro, forget talk. Shell has been drilling oil from Ogoni via Oyigbo, They both share land boundaries. An energy expert in the industry confirmed this to me. I think he called it "Horizontal drilling" How oil wells can be drilled from tens of kilometers away from the actual well. Honestly I feel bad for ogoni after reading about their story |
nedekid:I'm laughing at your comment. What ball are you talking about aside giving bags of money to militants and some corrupt local chiefs. Niger delta is doing a huge damage to itself especially in the future. Oil Spillage River contamination Air pollution via emissions and Gas flaring are major problems which will strike in future. Do you know how much it costs to clean up crude oil damaged environments? And in most cases it takes decades Can you please tell me what is the latest on Ogoni cleanup? Which would cost billions of dollars. I'm happy that I'm not from an oil producing state in South South because it's challenges outweighs the benefits, There's no gain being from an oil state or community in Nigeria. Southeast you want to mock are still in advantage. South east still has their lands and rivers intact, that cant be Said about most South South oil producing communities. |
JaroMan:Please can you say how the Airport isn't ready? Talking about insecurity, is Zamfara, Kaduna, Borno, Niger and even Buhari's home state of Kastina more safer than Anambra yet aviation activities are going on in respective airport. Infrastructure like train has been attacked on Abuja - Kaduna route yet it was not shut down due to insecurity. Atleast Obiano delivered his political promise in building an Airport, where is Air Nigeria APC and buhari promised? Is that also a political tool. Nigeria is backwards, unproductive and unprogressive due ethno-regional bias and sentiment. Its very clear that what is happening to anambra airport is economic sabotage Atimes I don't blame young ibos for agitating for a separate country. Nigeria with its potential is a basket of failure Anambra international airport is surely be a landmark project. Many Igbo traders and entrepreneurs here in Cameroon who have economic ties with Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi will surely enjoy it. Airpeace has secured Cameroon route and Igbo communities in Yaounde and Douala will tap into the initiative |
post=107652471:I'm shocked!! I thought Ogun is very rich state especially with high IGR. Or is there something else. Indeed IGR in Nigeria actually means nothing if a state like Ogun is owing workers |
adamsmith914:Such rhetoric against ibos are not necessarily needed. They don't wish akwa Ibomites ill. People fighting for their economic and political future is not bad. FYI: ibos are not the worst hit in Nigeria or Africa. I'm not ibo but that's the truth |
