BREAKING: North Korean Christians Executed For Owning Bible, Newborn Babies Murdered - ChristiangospelTV

In one instance, a victim found in possession of a Bible was publicly executed in front of over 1,000 people. The victim was tied to a wooden stake and executed by an MPS firing squad. “I saw the flesh fall off. That is how close I was.”

A new report has exposed the atrocities done to North Korean Christians arrested for their faith, including forced abortions, the murder of newborn babies, and death by execution for possessing a Bible.

The London-based Korea Future Initiative published its latest report, “Persecuting Faith: Documenting religious freedom violations in North Korea,” which includes information from 117 interviews with those exiled from the isolated country.

The investigation documents 273 victims of religious freedom violations, ranging in age from just 3 years old to over 80 years old.

Though adherents of various religions are held in North Korea’s “reeducation” camps, the harshest punishments are reserved for Christians, the report found.

More than 200 Christians were identified as victims punished for crimes, including religious practice, religious activities in China, possessing religious items, contact with religious persons, attending a place of worship, and sharing religious beliefs.

The report documented the various methods of torture victims endured in North Korea’s prison camps, including strangulation, starvation, being forced to ingest polluted food, sleep deprivation, and excessive beating.

One former female prisoner recalled, “Men were beaten like dogs. Even in the cell. They screamed like crazy because they hurt so much.

“Even though women were beaten less, I was hit in the face and my skin ruptured and I bled a lot. [Officers] told me to wipe the blood, so I cleaned it. I wept a lot when they hit me again. Blood and discharge ruptured during my next pre-trial examination. They hit me again because I wept.”

In several cases, prisoners found with a Bible or religious pamphlets were executed by a firing squad, while others were locked in electrified cages and fed watery soup. Others were executed for smuggling Bible pages into the country from China for North Koreans to make prayer books.

In one instance, a victim found in possession of a Bible was publicly executed in front of over 1,000 people. The victim was tied to a wooden stake and executed by an MPS firing squad.

One witness told KFI, “I saw the flesh fall off. That is how close I was.”

Another man, who had converted to Christianity, was allegedly forced into a metal cage that was just 3 feet high and 4 feet wide.

“There were steel bars on all four-sides that were heated with electricity,” he told KFI. “Usually prisoners lasted only three or four hours in the cage, but I sat there for 12 hours and prayed. I kept praying to God to save me.”

The man eventually soiled himself and passed out before being beaten by guards, leaving him with severe injuries.

Investigators documented 32 incidents of sexual violence against women — who made up 60% of victims identified in the report — and forced abortions.

North Korea is number one on Open Doors World Watch List of countries where Christian persecution is the worst, a position it has maintained for 18 years.

As the report explains, religious freedom in North Korea is “largely non-existent” and faith-based persecution has been common place since the 1950s because religious beliefs are “seen as a threat to the loyalty demanded by the Supreme Leader.” While Christians are the main target of abuse, Buddhism and Shamanism are also practiced in the country and “suppressed to varying degrees.”

“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” Hebrews 13:3.

Religion / BREAKING: 30 Bible Translation Projects In Nigeria Suspended Over Terrorism, Pan by daveobasi1: 10:28am On Oct 21, 2020
BREAKING: 30 Bible Translation Projects in Nigeria Suspended Over Terrorism, Pandemic - ChristianGospelTV

Nigerian Bible translators are seeking help after having to suspend translation projects in 30 languages due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing terrorist violence throughout the country.

Wycliffe Associates, an Orlando-based nonprofit that works with national Bible translators across the globe on over 700 translation projects, announced that the global pandemic, terrorism and economic collapse in Nigeria have “brought Bible translation to a halt in the most populous nation on the African continent.”

The organization, which was founded in 1967 and partners with the local churches to direct and guard translation work in their communities, partners with an organization called Nigerian Bible Translation Trust. The trust works on several Old and New Testament translation projects in a country where there are over 200 million people and over 500 languages.

However, in 2020, translators have not been able to gather in central locations as they would normally to check each other’s translation work.

Along with the pandemic, Nigeria has been marred by increasing trends of violence carried out in recent years by various actors — including Islamic terrorist groups, radical herdsmen and bandits. It’s estimated that thousands are reportedly killed by systemic acts of violence each year, including many Christians.

“With the pandemic, the issues of terrorist attacks and thievery, and the amount of starvation that is going on in the country, makes people desperate. There is a fear that drives that,” Wycliffe Associates Vice President of Translation Services Tabitha Price told The Christian Post.

“Travel is becoming more difficult. There is a lack of infrastructure already. And then to be concerned about the corruption and violence and terrorism that they are going to face when they try to travel, those challenges have really kept translators from being able to get together.”

Price said that translators working on the same projects often do not live in the same village.

“And the only way they can work together and check each other’s work and continue with the project is to come together in a central location,” she said. “With the pandemic and travel restrictions, besides all the dangers that have intensified, they really haven’t been able to do that.

“It’s varying degrees of the pandemic and violent militant and terrorist groups and kidnappings that have happened. Of course, situations like that are always exacerbated by something like this pandemic so those who are violently opposed to Christianity will take every opportunity to express it.”

Wycliffe has been working with the Nigerian Bible Translation Trust to train translators and provide them with resources. But restrictions on travel have made it difficult to be able to start on projects they planned to begin in 2020.

BREAKING:Iranian Christian Convert Receives 80 Lashes for Drinking Communion Wine - ChristianGospelTV

[img]https://1.bp..com/-80ammhglFqA/X4_npwO-ZOI/AAAAAAAADw8/tBr9CCFS8bYsRgqLm-D_d6xTjzUI2meMwCLcBGAsYHQ/w479-h281/100.jpg[/img]

Iranian Christian convert Mohammad Reza (Youhan) Omidi was on Wednesday, lashed 80 times for drinking wine as part of Holy Communion.

It is illegal for Muslim Iranians to drink alcohol, but exceptions are made for recognised religious minorities, including Christians. However, Iran does not recognise converts as Christians.

This lack of recognition is also the reason Youhan spent the last two years in prison and is now living in internal exile – because of his membership of a house-church, which is the only available Christian fellowship for converts in Iran.

Youhan began his two-year term in exile in the southwestern city of Borazjan one month ago today.

Then, on Saturday 10 October, he received a summons from the authorities in his home city of Rasht, more than 1,000km north of Borazjan, to travel back home at his own expense to receive his lashes.

Youhan and two of his fellow house-church members, Mohammad Ali (Yasser) Mossayebzadeh and Zaman (Saheb) Fadaee, were sentenced to the 80 lashes in September 2016 – by a Rasht civil and revolutionary court which at the same time refused to convict them of “acting against national security” by conducting house-churches.

That conviction – and accompanying 10-year sentences – was instead imposed on them, and their pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, a year later by a revolutionary court in Tehran.

This was not Youhan’s first experience of lashes. Youhan was also given 80 lashes in 2013, alongside one other house-church member, for the same reason: they had used wine with Communion, according to Article 18.

However, on both occasions friends of Youhan say he was grateful for the relative leniency shown him by those carrying out the sentence, after he explained to them that he had not acted with impropriety but had only shared in one cup of wine as an act of worship to God.

The people of Iran are disillusioned with Islam and they are looking for answers to life. They are not finding answers in the traditional forms of state religion or the faith of their ancestors. They are looking for new answers, they are not happy and satisfied where they are spiritually. A large number of these people are actually having dreams and visions about a shining man dressed in white far before we are out there telling them about Jesus.

Iran ranks 9th on Christian support organization Open Doors 2020 World Watch list of the 50 countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian, but this does not stop the rate at which Jesus Christ is winning the heart of the people unto Himself.

Over 50 Healed, Many Turn To Jesus Christ After Pastor Preached In Iraqi Mosque (Photos) - ChristianGospeltv

Pastor Chris Donald, the Pastor of Students at Lifestyle Christianity University, recently shared a story and photos of himself preaching in a mosque in Iraq, with another Pastor who he identified as David.

Pastor Chris who is very passionate about demonstrating the love and power of Jesus everywhere he goes, shared the story on his Facebook page, stating that there were about 150 to 200 people in attendance at the mosque. The power of God was present to heal as over 50 people had the healing power of God come through in their lives and many turned unto Jesus Christ, declaring their faith in Him.

Here’s what he wrote:
We had the amazing opportunity to preach the Gospel in a mosque. I can honestly say I have never done or heard of this happening before. After leaving I jokingly said on a scale from 1-10 how dangerous was that and one of the Iraqi translators said 12! There was anywhere from 150-200 people present. We started by praying for the sick. When we asked who was healed at least 50 people raised their hands. A few people fell over under the power of God and were healed as well. Then David preached the Gospel for the 20 min that he was given to share. They didn’t know that he would preach the Gospel. The leaders where on Facebook live and they where broadcasting it over the speakers in the streets as well. After David preached he asked for a response to follow Jesus many if not all the hands went in the air. It’s very hard to follow up and see what happened but we believe that many encountered God that night. I have never seen the power of God this strong in my life.

Religion / Pastor Brutally Beaten To Death By Hindu Extremists Comes Back To Life by daveobasi1: 9:34am On Oct 02, 2020
Pastor Brutally Beaten To Death By Hindu Extremists Comes Back to Life - ChristianGospel TV

When Hindu nationalists learned Pastor Tilak’s ministry had led 40 families to Christ, they urged the Naxalites, a communist insurgency group in India, to silence him. But no one, including the Naxalites and Hindu extremists, anticipated what God would do the night Tilak was attacked…

A Brutal Climb
“Will you leave your Christian faith or not?” shouted a Naxalite, one of India’s communist insurgents to the pastor.

“I cannot leave my faith … No.”

Tilak’s reply was slow but strong. As soon as he had completed his sentence, his attackers hurriedly tied his hands behind his back and bound his legs together. Grabbing a thick stick, they began to beat him, ordering him to climb the mountain. Amidst the blows, Tilak continued the slow ascent on his hands and knees, dragging himself through thorns and jagged rocks.

His body was bloody and mangled, the pain surreal. A vivid picture of his Lord on the way to Calvary kept him sane as he crawled on through the night, blow by blow, inch by inch. With each passing moment, he felt himself growing weaker, the struggle to move becoming more intense.

He could feel the hatred of these men, and to think–it was all because his ministry had seen 40 families turn to Christ. As a believer, opposition towards Christ had become opposition towards him. His time had come.

A Merciless Death
When he could bear it no longer, Tilak collapsed, motionless. The Naxalites checked his pulse. Nothing. They called a village doctor just to be sure. Reassured that they had done their job, the men threw Tilak’s body into a ditch without mercy, returning to the village with their heads held high.

They went straight to the homes of local Christians, laughing and shouting, “See, as your Jesus was beaten and killed, so have we killed your pastor now. His body is in a ditch in the forest. Find him and bury him!”

Multiple Christian families rushed out into the night, scouring the forest for any sign of their beloved pastor. When they finally found his lifeless body in a ditch, just as his persecutors had said, they began the trek back home in tears. They carried him–his weight in their arms.

A True Miracle
As local Christians made their way towards Tilak’s hut, they struggled to believe that he was dead. When they arrived and saw his body and the mourning crowd gathered around it, the reality of their pastor’s murder began to set in.

But as they mourned, something unfathomable happened. Slowly at first, Tilak’s body began to move. They were sure their emotions and the dim light were playing tricks on them. It was impossible. As Tilak’s eyes began to gradually open, they were overcome with awe.

He was alive!

When his persecutors heard the news, they rushed to the house to see it for themselves. Hindu villagers, the same ones who had urged the Naxalites to silence this man, were shocked. They were the ones who had complained that he was polluting the minds of their neighbors with his gospel, confident that the Naxalites would make quick work of him.

They had been so sure he was finished once he was kidnapped, knowing that a Naxalite trial was a mere formality rather than a true hearing. With the communists as jury, judge and prosecution, how could he have stood a chance?

The Naxalites, including those who had murdered Tilak with their own hands, looked on in disbelief. Who was this Jesus, that He held the power of life and death in His hands? And what would become of them, persecutors of this man who served Him?

A Relentless Opposition
Despite his brush with death, Tilak would not be silenced. He carried on his ministry as before, again prompting the Hindu villagers to complain. This time the Naxalites were afraid to torture him, remembering that he served a powerful God. They took him to the forest secretly and told him to flee, threatening to kill his entire family if he spared even a moment.

“I left the village with my family at once, as I had suffered extreme torture a year ago. I didn’t want the same for my family,” Tilak shares with an Open Doors ministry partner. He looks away as if trying to forget the painful memory.

“That day, we carried absolutely nothing with us, we only had the clothes we were wearing. About six hours later, we arrived in a village in another state. We believed we would be safe there.”

A Beautiful Friendship
In the new village, Tilak saw God’s provision once again. As he shared his struggles with those he met, one person offered to help him. The man took Tilak’s family into his hut and asked them to stay.

“This person who helped me had seen me when I used to minister in and around my village,” says Tilak. “He had heard my preaching before and had developed faith in his heart. He immediately recognized me when I visited his village that day. He worked as a mason. He was a very poor man with a big heart.” Tilak smiles as he remembers.

“He led us to his hut; it was just one small room. He hung a bedsheet like a curtain in the middle of the room and told me that my family could use the half of the room divided by the curtain for sleeping in the night while his family used the other half. He told me, ‘You can stay with us, and whatever we have in this house our families can share.’”

A Welcomed Visit
Today, after more than a year, Tilak and his family live in that same hut. The two families help each other by pooling their resources. Not long ago, some Open Doors partners paid them a visit to provide much-needed groceries and other daily necessities. They also invited Tilak to a Persecution Preparedness Seminar.

Tilak shares, “It’s been a few years, but we are still very much traumatized. We did not have courage to talk with anyone in the new village or share the gospel. However, when we attended the Persecution Preparedness Seminar, we experienced change in our hearts and minds. We are, however, still in the process of healing.”

He slowly continues, “I learned in the seminar that we should not be disappointed as we are never forsaken. God always has a plan for us. If He had not thought about us, we would not have received all the help from people and from this organization.”

A Steadfast Hope
Though Tilak and his family are not able to continue their ministry and are still struggling to make ends meet, they hold fast to Christ, knowing He sustains them.

“I keep reminding myself the things I learned in the seminar, especially the teaching that God will be for us always and He will always stand with us,” says Tilak. “Whenever we go through suffering and pain, it is for the glory of the Lord. When we leave the world and go to Heaven, there will be no more pain and sorrow. That’s why we need to focus on the Lord now.”

The Church in India is growing at an unprecedented rate, with village church pastors forging a burgeoning movement. In January 2015, more than 1 million people converted to Christianity at a single-tent revival event. Increasingly, the leaders of these churches are bearing the brunt of persecution in India, often finding themselves the first target of Hindu extremists, especially when extremists begin to see the impact of these leaders and their passion to share the gospel.

Praying for Pastor Tilak and his family
As Tilak’s brothers and sisters in Christ, we invite you to pray with us for:

Tilak’s family to find a home of their own
Recovery from the trauma of persecution the family has suffered
An education for Tilak’s children, as he is struggling just to provide food for them
Tilak and his family as they continue to heal. Tilak hopes to enter into ministry once again.

BREAKING: Muslim Man Beheads His Wife For Refusing To Convert To Islam After Marriage - Christiangospel TV

Ahmed was pressuring his wife to convert to Islam, to which she disagreed. Angry over her refusal, Ejaz with the help of his friend Shoaib beheaded her.

A Muslim man in northern India beheaded his Hindu wife for refusing to convert to Islam just one-and-a-half months after their marriage, a local newspaper reported.

The beheaded body of the 23-year-old, identified as Priya Soni, was found in a forest area near Preet Nagar area of Sonbhadra district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, under the Chopan police station area on Monday, according to The Tribune.

The SP said on Tuesday, one Laxminarayan from Preet Nagar identified her as his daughter Priya Soni from her shoes and clothes.

The father of the deceased informed the police that her daughter Priya had married the Muslim youth named Ejaz Ahmed against the wishes of the family about a month and a half ago. According to the father of the deceased, Ejaz was pressuring her to convert to Islam, to which she disagreed.

Ejaz had made an arrangement for her stay at a lodge in the Obra area while continuously pressurising her to convert, the SP said.

Angry over her refusal, Ejaz with the help of his friend Shoaib took her to the forest area and killed her, he said.

Police had deployed teams to trace the accused and they were nabbed from Baggha Nala Pul early Thursday morning, the SP said.

The suspect, Soni’s husband who was identified as Ejaz Ahmed, and his friend, identified only as Shoaib, have been arrested. Police said they recovered the mobile phone of the victim, a knife and an iron rod from the suspects.

While religion is a sensitive issue in India, such incidents are rare in the country, where Hindus constitute about 80% of the population of more than 1.3 billion people. India also has the world’s third-largest Muslim population — after Indonesia and Pakistan.

India ranks 10th on Christian support organization Open Doors 2020 World Watch list of the 50 countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian.

Religion / Jesus Christ Is My Savior And My Faith Is Important: US Secretary Of State by daveobasi1: 11:24am On Sep 28, 2020
Jesus Christ Is My Savior and My Faith Is Important: US Secretary Of State Mike Pompeo - ChristianGospel TV

“For me, I am an evangelical Christian and I believe Jesus Christ is my Savior.”

I swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution … but the person I am is important for people to understand.”

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended being outspoken about his evangelical faith as he spoke before an annual gathering of conservative Christian voters Tuesday night, saying that religion “drives” how people think about the world and their families.

Pompeo, a former congressman and CIA director, sat down with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins for a video interview that aired during the first night of FRC’s annual Values Voter Summit, an event that traditionally takes place in-person in the nation’s capital but this year is being held online because of the pandemic.

The 56 year old, who has often been vocal about his faith and spoken about his Christian identity in speeches overseas and at some prominent American evangelical churches, was offered the chance to defend his action of putting his faith out in the forefront despite criticism from some atheists and secularists.

“People appreciate knowing who you are, that you are authentic and that you don’t hide the things that drive you, the central underpinnings of who you are,” Pompeo said.

“For me, I am an evangelical Christian and I believe Jesus Christ is my Savior. I think when I meet with counterparts, whether they are from an Arab state that is a majority-Muslim country or in Israel, a predominantly Jewish country, I think they appreciate people who are consistent and know where you are coming from. We all have different ideas. Those three religions have some centrality. They come from Abrahamic faiths. But they appreciate that.”

Earlier this month, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice criticized Pompeo for being an “overtly religious secretary of state” after he gave a video speech played during the Republican National Convention that he recorded while he was in Jerusalem. Rice claimed that it was “problematic” because he’s “supposed to represent all of America” and its religions, Christian Post reported.

While speaking with Perkins, Pompeo referenced a speech he gave when he went to Cairo, Egypt, last year. He talked about being an evangelical Christian and how “we’re all children of Abraham.”

“I still get notes to this day from people all around the world [who say that] ‘for you to stand in Cairo and talk about your being an evangelical Christian but recognizing that the people in Egypt were predominantly from a different religion, but you could find places where you could work together and make life better for people of both countries,’” Pompeo said.

“I think that is the way diplomacy is best conducted when people are honest about who they are, what drives them. … I swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution … but the person I am is important for people to understand.”

Religion / BREAKING: Trump Signs Executive Order Protecting All Babies Born Alive, Includi by daveobasi1: 10:52am On Sep 28, 2020
BREAKING: Trump Signs Executive Order Protecting All Babies Born Alive, Including Botched Abortion Survivors - ChristianGospel TV

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday he is signing an executive order to ensure babies who survive botched abortions receive medical care.

The president shared news of his decision during a pre-recorded, virtual appearance at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast.

“Today, I am announcing that I will be signing the born alive executive order to ensure that all precious babies born alive, no matter their circumstances, receive the medical care that they deserve. This is our sacrosanct moral duty,” said Trump.

The president also noted that his administration is increasing federal funding for neonatal research “to ensure that every child has the very best chance to thrive and to grow.”

Though the full text of Trump’s executive order has not yet been released, it’s worth noting the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act has been introduced in Congress several times. The bill, however, has never become law.

The proposed law would require babies born alive after failed abortions to be given the same medical treatment had they been born prematurely under different circumstances, according to the Catholic News Agency.

In his comments prefacing the announcement Wednesday, President Trump took the time to highlight the valuable contribution of Catholics and “all people of faith” to American society.

“I grew up next to a Catholic church in Queens, New York, and I saw how much incredible work the Catholic Church did for our community. These are amazing people. These are great, great people. Catholic schools give many underserved children the chance to reach their God-given potential. Catholics of all backgrounds share the love of Christ with the most vulnerable as they care for the elderly, the homeless and neighbors in need,” Trump said.

“Our nation is strong because of Catholics and all people of faith. We believe in the joy of family, the blessing of freedom and the dignity of work and the eternal truth that every child born and unborn, is made the holy image of God. I will always protect the vital role of religion and prayer in American society and I will always defend the sacred right to life,” the president added.

Religion / Catholic Republican Says Trump & Pence Are ‘special Gifts’ From God - Christiang by daveobasi1: 7:24am On Sep 26, 2020
Catholic Republican Says Trump & Pence Are ‘Special Gifts’ From God - ChristianGospel TV

Kicking off the Republican National Convention, Jay Shepard, a Catholic Republican delegate from Vermont, described President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as “gifts” that “God has bestowed upon us” but “not because we deserve them.”

Shepard, who describes himself as a “Catholic Donald Trump Republican,” made the statement during an opening prayer for the convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, in which he praised the president as an imperfect believer who is on his way to God while painting Catholics like Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as wayward.

“Thank you, O Lord, for all the gifts you provide us, not because we deserve them, but solely through your grace and mercy, let us acknowledge the many gifts that God has bestowed upon us, starting with a president and vice president that reflect the values of our founding fathers and are willing to fight for those values, starting with life, knowing that all life is precious, from conception to natural death,” Shepard prayed.

“There is no choice but to fight for the unborn. For those of us who are true to our Catholic faith, we pray for an end for the intrinsic evil that is abortion. Give us the strength to fight for our religious freedom as our president does, and instill in us the spirit and commitment to stand with the poor in a continued fight for religious freedom.”

In his prayer, Shepard expressed appreciation for American troops and their families as well as police officers who are “on the frontline of law enforcement every day,” before pointing to the state of the president’s faith.

“We are all sinners and none of us are perfect. We recognize that faith is a journey. It is not where we start that journey, but where we are now and where we strive to be. Help us all to follow President Trump, whose actions show he is on the journey to you, Lord,” Shepard prayed.

He then spoke against “the other party” and those who claim the faith but lead people astray.

“Let us not be deceived by those who were once close to you but have turned away in favor of embracing political ideology yet claiming Catholic beliefs and words while their actions turn them and their followers away from you,” he prayed.

“We pray that you change their hearts and bring them back to you. … Please, Lord, continue to guide our party to the light. And we pray that those from the other party will turn away from the darkness and join us in our march to you, our Lord and Savior. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

BREAKING :Trump: ‘We Don’t Turn to Government, We Put Our Faith in The Almighty God’ - ChristianGospel TV

Labeling this year’s presidential race the “most important election” in the nation’s history, President Trump accepted the Republican Party’s nomination Thursday and warned about a “socialist agenda” he said would be implemented if Democrat Joe Biden wins in November.

Trump spoke for more than an hour to a large, boisterous crowd on the White House lawn, drawing a distinction between the visions and agendas of the two parties. Democrats, he said, “do not see America as the most free, just and exceptional nation on earth.”

“Instead, they see a wicked nation that must be punished for its sins. Our opponents say that redemption for you can only come from giving power to them,” Trump said. “This is a tired anthem spoken by every repressive movement throughout history. But in this country, we don’t look to career politicians for salvation. In America, we don’t turn to government to restore our souls. We put our faith in almighty God.”

Biden, he said, is a “Trojan horse for socialism” who has joined forces with Bernie Sanders on multiple issues, including on immigration and public safety.

Trump also criticized Biden on abortion.

“Joe Biden claims he has empathy for the vulnerable. Yet the party he leads supports the extreme late-term abortion of defenseless babies, right up until the moment of birth. Democratic leaders talk about moral decency, but they have no problem with stopping a baby’s beating heart in the ninth month of pregnancy. Democrat politicians refuse to protect innocent life, and then they lecture us about morality and saving America’s soul. Tonight, we proudly declare that all children – born and unborn – have a God-given right to life.”

Referencing daytime Democratic caucus meetings last week, Trump said that “during the Democrat Convention the words ‘under God’ were removed from the Pledge of Allegiance – not once, but twice.”

“We will never do that,” Trump said.

The President was referring to two caucus meetings in which the words were removed. However, the Pledge was recited in full on all four nights of the Democratic Convention.

He also pledged to “fully restore patriotic education to our schools” and to “always protect … free speech on college campuses.”

The president also mentioned the judiciary and school choice. On the courts, Trump said that by inauguration day, “we will have approved more than 300 federal judges, including two great new Supreme Court justices” in Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. On school choice, Trump said in a second term he would “expand charter schools and provide school choice to every family in America.”

Trump continued his criticism of cancel culture, saying Americans “are exhausted trying to keep up with the latest list of approved words and phrases and the ever-more-restrictive political decrees.”

“The goal of cancel culture is to make decent Americans live in fear of being fired, expelled, shamed, humiliated and driven from society,” Trump said. “As we know it, the far left wants to coerce you into saying what you know to be false – and scare you out of saying what you know to be true.”

Trump painted Biden as a “career politician” who has been on the “wrong side of history” during his 47 years in D.C. Trump criticized Biden for supporting NAFTA, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and China’s entry into the World Trade Organization.

“He repeatedly supported mass amnesty for illegal immigrants,” Trump said. “He voted for the Iraq war. He opposed the mission to take out Osama bin Laden. He opposed killing [Qassem] Soleimani. He oversaw the rise of ISIS and cheered the rise of China as a positive development for America and the world.”

Trump called Nov. 3 the “most important election in the history of our country.”

“There has never been such a difference between two parties or two individuals in ideology, philosophy or vision than there is right now,” he said. “Our opponents believe that America is a deprived nation. We want our sons and daughters to know the truth: America is the greatest and most exceptional nation in the history of the world.”

BREAKING:‘Fight For Christians In Nigeria’: Former NFL Star Benjamin Watson Urges Americans - ChristianGospel TV

Former NFL tight end and outspoken Christian, Benjamin Watson, is calling on Americans fighting for racial justice in the U.S. to also call for an end to violence against Christians in Nigeria, as activists warn the world might be ignoring a possible genocide.

Watson, 39, who announced his retirement earlier this year after 16 seasons in the NFL, participated in a press conference Wednesday in Washington, D.C., where he sat next to former Democratic presidential candidate and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, to speak out against the violence perpetrated by Fulani radicals and extremist groups like Boko Haram.

Hosted by the International Committee on Nigeria, the event was designed to raise awareness of the violence experienced by Christian communities in Nigeria as estimates suggest that millions of people have been displaced and thousands have been killed in recent years due to extremist violence taking place in the northeast and violence carried out by herding radicals against predominantly Christian farming communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region.

“I am here for many of the same reasons that everyone else is,” Watson explained. “I can remember several years ago it being impressed upon me that the Body of Christ here in the United States is dealing with our own issues. But compared to what is going on around the world in many respects, we need people that stand up for those who are being persecuted. At some time, it may be us.”

The football player, who has spoken out about many injustices over the years, including abortion and sex trafficking, explained that he was first made aware of what was happening in northeast Nigeria with Boko Haram’s insurgency when militants abducted 276 female Christian students from a school in Chibok, Borno state, in 2014.

“We can remember the hashtag of #BringBackOurGirls filling our timelines. We remember even the first lady of the United States and celebrities even tweeting about this,” Watson recalled. “Now today, six years later, more than 100 of those girls are still missing. The hashtags and social media campaigns have ceased, but for many of those friends and families and communities, their lives have not been forgotten.”

The Super Bowl XXXVIII champion explained that while the abduction of the Chibok girls captured the hearts of the world, it was “just one of thousands of killings and kidnappings, razing of entire communities and burning of churches that have happened at a genocidal rate for the last 20 years.”

“It is not only Boko Haram,” he said. “Most recently, it is Fulani herdsman who have largely operated with impunity and have targeted and attacked Christian communities.”

“The killing in the region is greater than that committed by ISIS in Iraq and Syria combined,” Watson added, repeating a statistic mentioned earlier in the conference, Christian Post reported.

“More than 60,000 Nigerians have been killed and 2 to 3 million have been displaced,” he continued, quoting an estimate from the Nigeria Silent Slaughter campaign. “That is something to consider because they have been moved away from their homelands and starvation and those sorts of things are happening as well.”

Nigeria is ranked as the country with the third-highest score on the 2019 Global Terrorism Index, only behind Afghanistan and Iraq.

Nigeria ranks as the 12th worst country in the world on Open Doors USA’s 2020 World Watch List of countries where Christians are most severely persecuted. Nigeria was in December, listed in the U.S. State Department’s special watch list of countries that tolerate or engage in severe violations of religious freedom due to the “lack of effective government response and the lack of judicial cases being brought forward in that country”.

Would you pray for Christians living in Nigeria? Please pray they will receive peace and comfort, and that one day they’ll be able to practice their faith openly without fear of death.

Why Christians All Over The World Should Start Praying For President Donald Trump - ChristianGospel TV

[img]https://1.bp..com/-TBa1LijjGyo/X2xVtTbqyiI/AAAAAAAADs8/rb2DgNQouLgc__Y-B49jWsd2ugDc4nb6ACLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h427/trump.jpeg[/img]

I have been praying for President Donald Trump since 2017, but I do not know why I feel the burden for a man that I do not have any relationship with.

I am just convinced that he is an instrument in the hands of God and deserves spiritual backing and intercession to accomplish the divine assignment placed in his hands.

My conviction was justified when Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari made a startling confession on the 8th day of September 2020. He spoke of how President Donald Trump accosted him in a private chat when he visited the White House.

President Buhari said: “I believe I was about the only African amongst the least developed countries that Trump invited and when I was in his office, only myself and himself, only God is a witness, he looked at me in the face and said, ‘Why are you killing Christians?'”

It takes a man who believes in the sanctity of life and love for humanity to ask such delicate and sensitive question. I would not like to talk about the answer that my president gave to President Trump, but I must confess that I was touched by this question that indicated that someone cares about the welfare of the Nigerian Christians.

In other words, President Trump held our president accountable for what is happening to Christians in Nigeria. This singular act has further endeared President Trump to me and I hereby make this clarion call to all Christians irrespective of denominational affiliations. Let everyone who has called on the name of the Lord Jesus start praying for Donald Trump as his preservation will inevitably protect us from harm and danger.

In June, President Trump’s Executive Order on Advancing International Religious Freedom helped ensure that minority religious groups in every community of the world are protected and free to serve their God. Prioritizing international religious freedom in US foreign policy and in foreign assistance is commendable.

I would not like to pretend that I am not aware of the criticism leveled against President Trump. He has made controversial statements, but his case is like the biblical David, “I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war”. (Psalm 120:7 KJV) I strongly believe that the mind of President Trump is not always in correlation with his spoken words. Mike Pence, who is his vice president, understands this when he stated that he “knows the president’s heart”.

Let us make America great again through our intercessions because in the greatness of America lies our freedom and realization of the purpose of God for our lives. We need a man who will repeatedly ask our leaders, why are you killing Christians? Why are you killing Muslims? Why are you killing pagans? Why are you killing atheists? Why are you killing Hindus? Why are you killing Buddhist? We need a strong man to say no to religious oppression in any part of the world.

Religion / BREAKING : LGBT Activists Threaten To Burn Down Church, Attack Pastor Over Fb by daveobasi1: 1:53pm On Sep 20, 2020
BREAKING : LGBT Activists Threaten To Burn Down Church, Attack Pastor Over Facebook Post - ChristianGospel TV
LGBT activists threatened violence against Pastor Williamson and his wife, and called for the church to be burnt down for celebrating the cancellation of this year’s LGBT Pride event.

A councillor in Cornwall is calling for the deportation of an Australian pastor who welcomed the cancellation of the local Pride event.

Stephen Hick, Newquay Town Councillor and Cornwall Pride leader, said in a letter to Home Secretary Priti Patel that Pastor Josh Williamson was a hate preacher and should be deported back to his native Australia.

Pastor Williamson, of Newquay Baptist Church, angered the LGBT community when he wrote on Facebook that the cancellation of this year’s Pride event was “wonderful news”.

When another Facebook user asked why the news was wonderful, Pastor Williamson responded, “Because I don’t think sin should be celebrated.”

The 34-year-old then wrote a longer response on his personal Facebook page, where he wrote: “Hallelujah!! We prayed at our prayer meeting on Tuesday night that this event would be cancelled. We also prayed that the Lord would save the organisers. One prayer answered, now we wait for the second prayer to be answered.”

In the ensuing backlash, LGBT activists threatened violence against Pastor Williamson and his wife, and called for the church to be burnt down.

When Cornwall police spoke to Pastor Williamson, they warned him to restrict his views to a “safe environment” and refrain from offending the LGBT community in the future, according to Christian Concern which is assisting him.

In his letter to Patel, Cllr Hick wrote: “Josh Williamson’s ministry has caused harm to members of the community of Newquay and the wider LGBTQ+ community across Cornwall.

“I believe his continued presence, preaching the hate that he does, presents a continuing harm to the same communities.

“I am unaware of the previous ministry of this particular church, but a foreign preacher travelling to the UK to promote and potentially act upon extremist views should be treated with the utmost seriousness.”

Cllr Hick has also called on businesses in the Newquay area to refuse services to Pastor Williamson and the church.

Writing in the Newquay Voice, Cllr Hick said: “I call on every individual and business within Newquay to deny him and his church the ability to spread their odious message. Do not interact with them, do not allow them to use your premises, do not accept their message,” Christian Today reported.

Responding to the call, Pastor Williamson said Cllr Hick’s comments were “textbook bullying”.

“I am not sure how Mr. Hick is going to identify those connected with our church, perhaps he’ll want us to wear a yellow cross on our shirts?” he said.

The pastor said he and the members of his congregation will not remain silent.

“My family and I, and our church community, have been very concerned by the level of anti-Christian abuse and threats of violence that we have been targeted with over the past few weeks,” Williamson said in a statement. “The police have not formally spoken to me about any hate crime or sought a witness statement to look at the various online comments which have included threats to burn down our church.”

“As Christians, we seek to speak the truth in love and would readily welcome all people to our services. The Bible, however, proclaims a message of repentance which calls on all people to turn from their sin and to trust in Christ. It would be unloving for us to remain silent about what God’s Word says in relation to human sin, including all forms of sexual sin. We, therefore, must proclaim the truth that homosexuality is a sin, but that God loves sinners and Jesus can forgive all our sins.”

“Newquay Baptist Church is made up of sinners who have been forgiven by a wonderful Saviour; since this is the case, we would invite all people, including the LGBT community, to come to our services. Our desire is that all would come to know and love Jesus,” the statement concluded.

Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre which is representing Pastor Williamson, said such threats against Christians who speak out against the LGBT community are becoming all to common in the UK, CBN News reported.

“It’s becoming worryingly common in the UK to see threats and calls for violence against Christians for voicing their simple opposition to LGBT Pride. Police forces should show Christians they take this seriously by protecting their free speech against mob threats rather than by seeking to keep Christians quiet,” Williams said.

“Christians are called to repay evil with good – I have no doubt that Pastor Williamson will continue to share the reality of sin and the good news of Jesus Christ with the people of Newquay,” she added.

“I Prayed, Worshiped, And Fasted 40 Days To Hindu Gods And Goddesses” – But Jesus Christ Saved Me - ChristianGospel TV

“I prayed, worshiped, and fasted 40 days to Hindu gods and goddesses. I prayed for peace of mind I done yoga worshiped kundalini Spirits and wore special ritual clothes. I wore “Ayyappa Mala”, but the gods did not respond to my cry! Then I met Jesus Christ!” Jesus SAVED my Life from HELL

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am very happy to write this message and to share my testimony with you, Johnson wrote.

I was born into a Hindu family (my name in Hindu Srinivas Chowdary) (heathen family). As our lives were moved this way, during my childhood, my father fell sick due to chronic diseases. Doctors had told my father that he would die within a few days due to illnesses. While he was on his bed, he came to know about Jesus Christ from an evangelist and received Jesus Christ into his life. He was healed by God’s grace and recovered from his sickness. Because of his conversion, however, my family members and relatives of my own caste excommunicated my father. After the sudden demise of my mother , I left my father and was brought up in the home of my grandparents. Before my conviction, I disliked my father and, along with all my relatives, we persecuted him by accusing that he believed in Jesus Christ who is the God of lower class people. Even then, my father did not open his mouth against us, but only bear all the persecution.

Meanwhile, I completed my degree in Business Management and accepted a job earning Rs. 35,000 per month (about $850) . I gradually habituated many bad habits like smoking, drinking, and my life then became bad. I was without peace of mind so I turned toward all kinds of Hindu gods and goddesses and worshipped those so called gods. I, also, wandered to different places to worship false gods so that I might find peace of mind, but without results. I used to wear different types of special ritual devotee clothes to become the devotee of this world’s false gods.

As part and parcel of the devotion, I wore “AYYAPPA SWAMY MALA,” which is a special type of ritual black clothes to become a devotee of a famous south India heathen god “AYYAPPA” and, also, I completed a difficult fast for 40 days. The rituals of “AYYAPPA MALA” are very difficult to do. It required getting up every morning at four o’clock in order to take a bath in freezing cold water, sleeping on the floor without even a simple blanket, and having on only one meal per day in order to worship this god.

Even though I felt it was difficult, I did all these rituals but had no mental peace, or joy, or encouragement in my life. Moreover, I thought that these rituals would lead to heaven.
One day, suddenly, I had some questions in my mind about my life, like who am I? Why was I born into this world? What happens to my life and where will I go after my death? I asked many people about these questions, but nobody could, convincingly, answer my questions. Some people said that those who do good things will go to heaven and those who do bad things will go to hell, but I was not satisfied will these answers. Sometimes I would be afraid when I thought of hell because of my own bad behavior.

My life was just like the prodigal son. So, my monthly salary was no longer sufficient to meet my basic needs besides my other expenditures. In addition to my job, I, also, was employed as Art Director in the movie field according to the advice of some of my relatives. I took the job because I desired to earn more money to meet my prodigal expenditures. However, the Rs. 15000 to 20,000 per day I had earned in this field did not bring happiness. I continued to feel something was still lacking in my life. My life only continued to be miserable.

One day, December 14, 2000, I was on the way to Chennai (one of the metropolitan cities of India) with Rs. 2 Lakhs ($5000) to purchase some equipment needed for the work of making movies. On this day, an untoward incident happened in my life. Some robbers followed me to snatch the cash bag I carried with me. During the ordeal, I was constrained in a net as they stabbed me two times and stole all of my cash. They left me on the ground cover in my own blood. I was stabbed so severely that my bowels came out of stomach. I thought I was going to die.

As I lay upon, what I thought was my death bed, I began praying to my Hindu gods, but they did not answered my prayers. I, then, remembered the words of a pastor, who had spoken to me during a time when we had been filming at a church for a Hindi movie in 1995. That pastor, looking at me, prophesied that I would become a great man for God and suggested that I remember and pray to Jesus Christ when troubles should come. He, also, requested, then, that I receive Jesus Christ as my personal savior. As I remembered those words, and facing the worst trouble in my life, I prayed to God my Savior Jesus Christ in my mind and ask Him to save my life. Immediately after I prayed, the Lord spoke to me, “Rise up! You cannot die.” I heard just one voice out of heaven and I saw, only, two great hands that lifted me up.

Some people had come to see me at the government hospital soon after the attack around 12:30pm on December 14. 2000. The doctors told them that I was going to die within 20 to 30 minutes and ordered that I be taken to the mortuary ward because they did not want to take the risk that they should operate because they feared that I would die anyway in their hospital bed. Meanwhile, some of the nurses (sisters) prayed four (4) hours in the name of Jesus Christ for my life. I remained alive without treatment; my bowels on the outside as I lay on a stretcher and continued bleeding. When the doctors observed that I was still alive at around 4:30pm, that afternoon, they were astonished and took me, immediately, to the operating room to perform surgery. Jesus, my God, miraculously saved my life. No heathen gods had heard my prayer previously although I had worshipped them.

After that time I began to read the Holy Bible, confessing my sins to God. I believed Jesus Christ and received Him, the only Savior on December 24, 2000. The pastor who led me to Christ and I prayed together as we fasted fasting for a period of 7 days. God spoke to me through the Scriptures (Jeremiah 1:5) and called me into His ministry. I resigned from my job and left my kith and kin (who were idol worshipers) and dedicated myself to full-time ministry. Beyond all the trials and tribulations, now, I am leading my life by putting my trust in my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ without compromising with the world or the things of the world.

It is gain to pray for the salvation of God’s people in INDIA and I humbly request your precious prayers for this holy ministry of God. We need your spiritual encouragement and generous involvement for the development of God’s work in India. (Currently we have ministry work in 6 different states) Once again thank you so much for sharing, prayerfully, your love and vision for this ministry.

With Love and Prayers,

“You have two weeks to live.”

Those were not the words that Hawaii-based artist Vera Kirkpatrick expected to hear after a routine blood test with her doctor. She worked out twice a day and kept herself in peak health.

All of sudden, she needed her husband, a man she had grown distant from in her self-sufficiency.

Looking back, Vera had grown up in an impoverished, fatherless home. “There were six kids. We had nothing,” Vera says in a CBN video. “So my whole idea was, ‘If I’m successful and I have finances then people won’t look at me as a poor orphan. They will see my success.’”

Creating and selling in-vogue art pieces brought her fame and finances. She married, had three kids and moved to Hawaii where she and her husband, John, ran two art galleries. Vera had all the pieces of success.

But she felt John, who adored her, was too controlling, and she contemplated leaving him.

“I wanted to create my own rules, my own world,” she says. “John ended up putting me on a pedestal, and that was good for a while but then I got tired of that. I didn’t want to be molded and shaped. I’m the powerful person. Not ‘we’ but ‘me.’”

But the mulling of separation got cut short abruptly in 2009 when Vera, after skipping doctor’s checks for six years, finally went in for a physical and the doctor ran a standard blood test. He found leukemia.

“What’s Leukemia?” Vera asked when he broke the news. “Wait, is that a cancer?”

“Yes,” he responded. Then he delivered awful news: “What’s worse, I think you have about two weeks to live.”

Oncologist Anthony DeSalvo confirmed the grim prognosis.

“Acute Leukemia, in the absence of urgent treatment, is rapidly fatal,” he says. “It is typically within weeks without treatment you will die.”

Vera turned to the God she knew only superficially.

“Okay God, I’m at a crossroads here. Are you real? Can I call on you?” she prayed frantically. “Are you able? All these stories and all these things were they for real my whole life? Are you mad at me? Will you even listen to me now?”

Her self-made world crumbled. She had achieved success all by herself, and she was proud of it. But with cancer circling, she realized her self-sufficiency was utterly meaningless.

“I’ve been doing everything on my own terms,” she mused.

“I reached out for a life saver and that was God,” Vera remembers. “I went back to my roots, because I wasn’t going to save myself. And you can put your trust in medicine, but the ultimate healing is going to have to be God.”

Within two days, family came to watch the kids while Vera and John traveled to Seattle where they met Dr. John Pagel at the Fred Hutchinson Malignant Growth Exploration Center.

Intense Myeloid Leukemia or AML was his diagnosis.

“Not just garden variety AML, one of the worst kinds of AML you can have; really high risk,” he said. He recommended using a novel regimen of chemotherapies, something rarely tried in other patients.

“We really weren’t sure it would work, but we did feel it was important for her given the high risk nature of her disease.”

Meanwhile, John and Vera trusted God.

“When the doctors come in they have to tell you all the worst case scenarios, it was like whatever they said didn’t matter because if God said she’s going to live, she’s going to live,” he remembers thinking.

Scriptures brought comfort to Vera. “The scripture, Jeremiah 29:11: ‘For I know the plans I have for you, not to hurt you or to harm you, but to give you a hope and a future.’ I took that literally.”

For a considerable length of time, Vera endured anguishing chemotherapy treatments.

John remained close by and trusted God for her healing. Their kids traveled to Seattle to visit and invest energy with her.

Be that as it may, the days got darker and darker.

“I was overwhelmed,” John recalls. “And in my pocket — I don’t know if I heard something or whatever — I just reached into my pocket, got my phone out and they are like, ‘This is the CBN prayer line.’”

Despite the circumstances, John felt God’s assurance and a promise of healing for Vera.

Following the prayers, Vera’s cancer went into remission for a time, but the doctor said stem cell treatment was necessary. They searched for a donor with the same blood type and remarkably, they found a man in Tel Aviv who was a match and volunteered, according to God Reports.

Twenty-one days after the transplant, Vera left the disease center to be observed off grounds.

“I personally believe that God had His wonderful hands all over Vera,” Dr. Pagel says. “No question about it. You could see it every single day when you saw her.”

Following seven months, Vera returned to Hawaii. Dr. Anthony DeSalvo assumed oversight for her care. “It’s amazing. I’ve never seen anybody like Vera recover so quickly and so completely,” he says.

GLORY:Iran’s Underground Church Provides Food, Humanitarian Aid To Muslim Neighbors During Covid-19

Christians in Muslim-majority Iran are risking arrest to provide food and humanitarian aid to their neighbors struggling without jobs during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the head of one of the world’s most prominent Christian persecution watchdogs.

David Curry, CEO of Open Doors USA, an organization that monitors persecution in 60 countries, told The Christian Post that underground churches in Iran have surfaced amid the COVID-19 crisis to answer Jesus’ call to love their neighbors.

“It just began with people spending their own time and their own money to make sure neighbors have the care and support they need because of lost incomes and the COVID pandemic fallout,” Curry said, adding that efforts have become more organized over time as local church networks have gotten involved.

“The church [serves] as a rally point [and] centers of care and compassion for Muslim communities that they are living in,” he explained.

For security reasons, Curry could not go into detail about how many churches are involved in distributing aid and how the aid distribution works. He said that churches, which are already under tremendous societal pressure, are taking “extra risk” by trying to organize help for people who are struggling.

“The remarkable thing about the Iranian church is their ability to mobilize online networks into offline outreach in this highly restrictive, risk-laden environment,” Curry explained.

Iran is ranked by Open Doors USA as the ninth worst country in the world when it comes to Christian persecution.

Iranian society is governed by Islamic law and churches are banned from holding services in the nation’s most common language, Farsi. People caught attending underground house churches face arrest and many are arrested every year, Christian Post reports.

“The Church has always been strong in the underground among supporting each other,” Curry stated. “This is something different because they are having to come above ground, so to speak. They are starting in their pockets and their communities and neighbors, people who they know who are hungry and need hygiene kits and things like that. But it has gotten more organized, which brings greater risk. They have not done this sort of above-ground relief before. It’s a historic thing.”

Kanye West Tells Kim Kardashian To Stop Wearing Revealing Dresses, As It ‘Affects Him’ As A Christian

Hip-hop and fashion trailblazer Kanye West has spoken out against his wife, Kim Kardashian, for wearing revealing dresses in public, saying that the way she presents herself in public negatively affects him as a born again Christian.

The celebrity couple quarreled on a recent episode of their show, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, after West spoke out against Kardashian’s decision to wear revealing clothes in public. However, she responded that she was on a different path to him.

The debate was sparked by Kardashian’s decision to wear a tight-fitting Thierry Mugler dress to the 2019 Met Gala Ball. The designer dress had been made in skin colour to give the impression that she was naked with water dripping down her body.

West said to his wife: “I just went through this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls and looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh, my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing her body off’.

“I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and the father of now … about to be four kids. A corset is a form of underwear. It’s hot. For who, though?”

West has famously been hosting weekly Sunday Service events throughout the year, which have attracted thousands of attendants. The events feature gospel music by West and his band, and more recently, sermons have also been introduced.

Kardashian responded to her husband: “You’re giving me really bad anxiety. You knew last night I was having really bad anxiety and I don’t need any more negative energy, for you to say you’re now not into me wearing a tight dress.”

To which West replied, “You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy.”

However, Kardashian retorted: “You built me up to be this sexy person and confidence and all this stuff, and just because you’re on a journey and transformation doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you,” according to Christian Today.

The exchange ended with West simply replying “OK” before he walked out the room.

Popular hip-pop singer, Nicki Minaj, while hosting “Queen Radio” on Apple Music, also revealed that West told her he turned to God after being hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016. She made the announcement during a discussion about faith in the entertainment industry with special guest Chance The Rapper, who recently went on a sabbatical to “learn the Word of God.”

Pray for Kanye West as he goes through this transformation period in his new found faith in Christ Jesus.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (Romans 12:1-3).

Religion / Why I Was Ordained RCCG Pastor In Two Years When It Took Some 15 Years — Adeboye by daveobasi1: 4:36am On Jun 14, 2020
Why I was ordained RCCG pastor in two years when it took some 15 years — Adeboye

Collectors of Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s testimonies must be facing the task of updating their collections unceasingly.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God is noted for illustrating his sermons with testimonies to enable people to relate with the messages more easily and also for better retention.

But just as one felt one knew all the about his early years in the church, a fresh revelation came: All protocols were broken by the Founder of the church, Josiah Akindayomi, to ordain him a pastor.

He was only two years in the church where it takes much longer, rising through the ranks, to be ordained a pastor.

At the June Holy Ghost Service of the church, Adeboye recalled how God made the Founder break protocols to ordain him pastor: “Thank God for my Father-in-the-Lord (Pastor Akindayomi).

“On the very first day he went to Jerusalem, God spoke to him; God told him: ‘As soon as you get home, ordain the young man who will take over from you.’

“But while he was away, God also spoke to me about it and I told the Almighty God to forbid bad thing.

“I didn’t want to be a pastor.

“However, against my silent wish, my Father-in-the-Lord ordained me on his return from Israel.

“He broke all the rules to do that.

“That day I was been ordained a Pastor, the man who was ordained before me had been in the Church for 15 years.

“I had been in the Church for only two years.

“We don’t do that in RCCG; we don’t ordain someone a pastor just like that.”

The leader of the church, which has spread to several countries, also used the opportunity to debunk claims that the church was the place for people to become pastors early: “I have heard that some people say if you want to become a pastor early, join RCCG and within six months you will become one.

“I said, ‘really?

“Let them come; let them come and see how many years it takes to be a worker before being made a Deacon; how many years they will spend as Deacon before they can become Assistant Pastor; and how many years they have to spend after they have become Assistant Pastor before they become Pastor; how many courses they will undergo

Donnie McClurkin Recovers From Coronavirus, Speaks About Burying Loved Ones

[img]https://1.bp..com/-TNel-K6cQ_c/XuTHc8Hq1PI/AAAAAAAADI8/ItLS4E2rmu0kNGeff1d--iX0F0B0vqExwCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/too.jpg[/img]

Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin has called the last 2 ½ months “harrowing” as the nation continues to reel in civil unrest over racial injustice and the coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing how he was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, Donnie, who is also the pastor of Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, New York, said Thursday, that he has been busy comforting people from his more than 2,000-member congregation who have lost loved ones to the coronavirus while recovering from his own infection, Christian Post Reports.

“I had to walk people through the death of their loved ones. It was all in 2 ½ months. You had 32, 33 people that I had to deal with losing in 2 ½ months as well as going through COVID[-19] myself you know. So it’s been a very harrowing experience,” McClurkin revealed in an interview with Inspiration 1390.

He said he contracted the virus near the end of March and he made an appointment to get tested but it took four weeks for health officials to get back to him. By then, he said, all his symptoms were gone.

“By the time I got to test all my symptoms were gone. I’ve gone through two weeks of all of the fever, the loss of taste, smell, the aches, the fatigue, and then still had to do the digital shows that we had to do each week, deal with the members that were dying, deal with the members’ family that were dying and bishop friends of mine that were dying. It hit really hard,” he explained.

He also noted the ongoing economic fallout from the virus that has forced many people to seek help from food banks run by organizations like his church that has been giving away food to hundreds of people each Wednesday.

The multi award-winning, internationally-recognized gospel singer, who says he has been eager to gather in-person again says he is willing to wait until it’s safe to do so because he has been able to do virtual worship effectively.

“A lot of people are going frantic over the doors being closed because we are such churchaholics in so many ways. I believe that we are supposed to gather together. I believe that we shouldn’t forsake it but God allowed something to happen … that caused our churches across the board to be compromised and the doors to close in many churches and then it led us to this device,” he said pointing to the computer.

“We started doing our digital services, a lot of pastors were afraid that it would affect their congregation, their income, the zeal of the people. It had no [negative] effect” for his church, McClurkin said.

He said his church has flourished virtually through the increased reach of his services as well as giving.

‘Thank God I’m Free Now’: Woman Kidnapped and Sold To Sex Slaves by ISIS 6-years Ago

Six years ago, Leila Taalo was kidnapped by ISIS along with her entire family. They are Yazidi, an ancient people who were brutally oppressed by ISIS when the terror group flooded into their area in Northern Iraq in 2014.

After their capture from their home in Sinjar, her family was forcibly converted to Islam. This allowed her family to live as second-class citizens for a while, working for the Islamic State mainly as herders, along with other Yazidis who were moved there.

“This is the room where my husband and I were living,” Taalo explained.

But after some Yazidis escaped, the militants gathered all the men and took them away, never to be seen again. Many were killed and dumped into a sinkhole, where their bones can still be seen whitening in the sun.

“We knew that they were going to take us out of this house. We were worried about the mobile phones, that they would find out that we had mobile phones,” Taalo said. “So my brother’s wife and I took the two mobile phones and buried them here. We hid them in the ground, and there were cigarettes too.”

Without her husband to protect her, Taalo and her two children were sold as slaves. She and other Yazidi women were traded like livestock and raped repeatedly by every new owner. Twice she became pregnant, but the Saudi man responsible forced her to abort the babies, even though it was forbidden by ISIS.

The city of Sinjar was liberated by Kurdish Peshmerga forces in late 2015. Days afterward CBN News Contributing Chuck Holton toured the empty city.

“You know if you ever heard of the city of Stalingrad in WWII, this is what I imagine it looking like,” Holton said. “Everything just collapsed, destroyed. It’s just a wrecked and shattered city. It just goes to show ISIS only comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Just like someone else we know.”

Dr. Anne Speckhard, director of the International Study for Violent Extremism, has interviewed dozens of escaped Yazidi women and their families.

“One Yazidi family I spoke to was step by step buying their daughters back from ISIS. And it tells you there is something corrupt and horrible going on that ISIS is still able to operate. ISIS treated these women as sub-human, subjected them to rape, and treated them as slaves,” Speckhard explained.

Finally, after being abused by at least seven different men, Taalo’s family was able to secure her release by paying a ransom of over $19,000. She recently took journalists back to see where her ordeal took place.

“All these houses were full of Yazidi families. They were living here,” she said.

“I wish I was back in the past, even if I was in the hands of the Islamic State, but at least I was living with my family here, my brothers and my husband were alive, no matter how long (the captivity), five years or more, as long as we are together and not separated,” Taalo explained. “Regardless of the suffering and no matter what happens but not to lose them.”

The systematic abuse of women continues in many places, but only under ISIS was it given theological justification, and many women have yet to be freed. According to Kurdish authorities, at least 2,900 Yazidis have yet to be returned to their families, including more than 1300 women and girls, CBN News reports.

“When I was here, I never thought that one day I would be free. Now I am here and I am free, thank God. But I will never forget the suffering they caused us,” Taalo said.

But for Leila and those still waiting, closure won’t come until every Yazidi girl comes home.

China Removes Crosses From Over 250 Churches In First 4 Months Of 2020

Crosses were removed from over 250 state-sanctioned churches in China’s Anhui province between January and April as the Communist Party’s years-long crackdown on church crosses continues, according to the Italian-based magazine Bitter Winter.
“All Christian symbols are ordered to be removed as part of the government’s crackdown campaign,” a provincial employee from Ma’anshan city told Bitter Winter, a publication produced by the Center for Studies on New Religion which covers human rights issues in China.
The magazine reported on Tuesday that the 250 crosses were removed from churches affiliated with the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in cities that include but are not limited to Lu’an, Ma’anshan, Huaibei and Fuyang.
One of the churches that had its cross removed from outside its building is The Gulou Church in the center of Fuyang city, a Protestant church that dates back over a century.
The church had its cross taken down on April 2 after over 100 congregation members tried to stop authorities from removing the cross from the church the previous day.
One congregation member told the magazine that local officials told the church members that the cross’ removal was done in accordance with a national policy requiring the removal of all religious symbols, not just Christianity.
“We support the state and comply with its regulations,” the congregation member was quoted as saying.
“We can have a dialogue with the government if it thinks that we have done something wrong, but they can’t persecute us this way. Officials did not show any documents, fearing that people would implicate them with anything in writing. They only conveyed verbal orders and forced us to obey them.”
In the city of Lu-an, over 183 churches had crosses removed during the first four months of 2020, reports Bitter Winter. The report states that in March, a church leader in the city was threatened with imprisonment and the closure of his church if the church’s cross was not removed.

14-year-old Cut Into Pieces By Radicals For Converting To Christianity

A 14-year-old Christian convert in the east-Indian state of Odisha was murdered in cold blood by a group of religious fanatics, who reportedly cut up his body into pieces.
On the night of Thursday, 04/06/2020, a group of religious goons took young Samaru Madkami to a nearby jungle under the pretext of a meeting. The assailants then took him to a secluded area and mercilessly tortured the grade 7 student, slayed him by slitting his neck, smashed his head with a stone and chopped his body into pieces. After carrying out this gruesome crime, the assassins buried the body and made their way back to the village, Persecution Relief reports.
Pastor Bijay from the Malkangiri district told the nonprofit serving persecuted churches in India about how a group of suspected Hindu radicals (some of whom did not live in the village) ganged up last Thursday to kidnap Christians in the remote Kenduguda village.
As a result, seventh-grader Samaru Madkami was killed by the perpetrators, who were said to have cut his neck and crushed his head with a rock. The suspects are also alleged to have cut the teenager’s body into pieces and buried him in a pit.
Pastor Bijay explained that he reported to local police last Friday that the teen went missing after he was taken from the home the night prior.
The father of the victim, a widower who lost his wife a few years back and was raising his children on his own, had been receiving death threats for a while now. That fateful night, he was not at home as he has accompanied his daughter to the hospital. This incident has left him completely broken.
According to a police report filed by the victim’s father, he and his son became Christians about three years ago and faced harassment.
“Samaru was a passionate Christian,” Bijay told Persecution Relief. “He always shared from the Bible with youth and children from the village.”
Although Persecution Relief states that Madkami was 14 years old, the Hindustan Times reports that Madkami was 18.
Believers in India—number 10 on the 2020 World Watch List—are often shunned, unjustly arrested, attacked—even killed—because they choose to follow Jesus and not Hinduism or the local religion. Our Indian family needs the prayers of the global church to stand strong in the midst of persecution—and to remain a light for Christ in the world’s second-most populated country.

Education / Professor Fired From University For Saying Biological Sex Is Real And Important by daveobasi1: 7:31pm On Jun 08, 2020
Professor Fired From University For Saying Biological Sex Is Real and Important
A feminist University of Alberta professor of anthropology has been fired from her position as associate chair of undergraduate programs in the Department of Anthropology, for expressing the reality and importance of biological sex — comments deemed “unsafe.

Kathleen Lowrey, an associate professor of anthropology at the university was forced to resign from her position as an associate department chair for undergraduate programs after students complained that she had voiced what is known as “gender-critical” views, and they felt “unsafe.” According to the Canadian Ryerson University-based Centre for Free Expression, that Lowery has been open with her perspective is precisely the problem.

“Should a course have gender or sex as a central theme, on day 1 she offers a summary of her views along with the declaration that no student need agree with her about any of it, as she did this year with her course ‘Anthropology of Women.’…Lowrey also posts statements related to her views on her office door — something she is entitled to do. She contends that in asking her to resign from her service role the University is endorsing ideological conformity,” the organization explained in a Tuesday blog post.

When the professor declined to resign from her associate chair role, she asked that the reasons for dismissal be documented formally, making clear why she was being asked to step down. In the letter she received, no specifics were given, stating only that “it is not in the best interests of the students or the University” that she continues in that role.

“At its most alarming, the University of Alberta’s position appears to be that where students have a ‘perception’ that an idea or a set of ideas harms them, it does not matter what the precise complaints are in regard to the person holding the ideas (or indeed whether there is any precise complaint). Lowrey has been expressly told that it doesn’t matter if any of the claims students are making about her are true,” CFE explained.

Reached by phone Friday, Lowrey told The Christian Post that she is exploring her options with her faculty association to contest the move.

When she requested a detailed letter from the dean documenting why she was being dismissed, she was brushed off.

“Institutional memory lives on paper,” Lowrey said.

“Five years from now, if you look at this letter and it doesn’t say [the reason for dismissal] so it could have been that I was coming into work drunk every day. It could be that I was stealing all the office supplies. It could be anything. I said: ‘Could you specify?'” she said, explaining her request for a detailed list of reasons as to why she was dismissed.

The University of Alberta has fired Kathleen Lowrey from her role as associate chair of undergraduate programs in the Department of Anthropology, for saying biological sex is a reality.
But she knew why they were dismissing her because she had conversations in which they told her that it was because of her views. The dean reportedly wrote back and said such a letter would not be productive. In Lowrey’s view, the university’s position, which she disagrees with, appears to be that unlike her teaching and research, a service role such as an associate chair of the department is not protected by academic freedom so the school will not be obligated to respond to a grievance of this kind.

The anthropology professor finds it worrisome that what happened to her might soon be applied to other employees, positing as an example someone in the registrar’s office tweeting a quip about a news article on a “pregnant man,” that such a joke could constitute a basis for termination should a student complain about “hate speech.”

It was in March that Lowrey was asked to resign from her position. She was told that the reasons for this were that the learning environment she created was “unsafe” for students. This was as per the University, “on the basis that one or more students had gone to the University’s Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights and the Dean of Students, André Costopolous, to complain about her without filing formal complaints.”

Her employer empowered students to damage their teacher’s career and livelihood. It is the type of power which todays’ students are accustomed to wielding, much as the Red Guards routinely punished their teachers for “wrong thinking” during the Cultural Revolution, the Post Millennial Reported.

Amazon Delivery Driver Stops During Busy Day To Pray For Baby With Heart Condition

An Amazon delivery driver’s prayer for a baby boy with a heart condition in Idaho has gone viral and is inspiring many.

As Monica Salinas was making a delivery to a home in Nampa, Idaho, she noticed a sign on the door explaining that a high-risk child named Lucas lives inside. Lucas is under a year old and has a heart condition that puts him at heightened risk for respiratory complications, such as the coronavirus.

Derek and Raquel Pearson had been taking extra precautions during the pandemic and were depending on online orders for many products so they wouldn’t have to go shopping elsewhere and then risk exposing their son to the disease.

“He needs special thickeners to be able to eat, otherwise he aspirates his milk. So we really depend on getting all of these supplies online so we don’t have to go out to the store and bring a virus home,” 30-year-old Raquel Pearson said in an interview last week with news station KTVB. “We just want to minimize exposure to coronavirus.”

While waiting for an important order to arrive a few weeks ago, Pearson noticed on the doorbell camera that Salinas, a delivery driver for a company called Custom Services through Amazon, paused after she rang the doorbell and placed the package on the doorstep.

“There was a note and it said their baby’s food was essential, and every time I see that note, it just touches my heart,” Salinas, 41, told the local news station.

“I just stopped to do what my heart told me to do, to say a prayer for the baby and for the parents because that’s got to be very painful for all of them to see their baby hurt and struggle. I just prayed that they can make it through another day, one day at a time.”

Salinas, who sings in her parish choir, subsequently told Catholic News Agency in an interview Sunday that when she saw the message on her May 2 route, she felt moved to pray: “Dearest God, please protect this family through your Precious Blood, and this baby, so that he may grow to become a man.”

Pearson did not know at first what Salinas was doing standing there for a moment after she dropped off the package. But then, she saw Salinas make the sign of the cross and realized she was praying.

Pearson told Catholic News Agency that when she saw the gesture, she started crying.

“We were very grateful that a stranger would take time out of her very busy day to pray for our baby,” Pearson explained.

Pearson shared the video and expressed her gratitude in a local COVID-19 Facebook group.

The video soon caught the attention of many people online as well as international media outlets.

“God has always been very important in my whole life,” Salinas explained.

“And I would like to let everyone know that God is good. I always tell people, every day, that God is good, one day at a time.”

Amid the ongoing protests in the United States that began after the death of 46-year-old African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis, a video of a group of white people kneeling down to pray and apologise for the incident and years of racism in the country, has gone viral.

Americans gathered Sunday at Cuney Homes in the Third Ward to pray for the family of George Floyd.

During the prayer, the white people in attendance knelt down and asked for forgiveness for years of racism.

“Father God we asked for forgiveness from our black brothers and sisters for years and years of racism,” a man can be heard saying in the viral clip, as they kneel in front of African Americans. In the video, many can be seen crying as the man continues to pay homage to Floyd.

The powerful moment was followed up by the black community accepting the apology and joining together in prayer.

Floyd’s death triggered protests across the US, with many standing in solidarity with the protestors. In another clip, Portland police are seen kneeling to show support for the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters, garnering positive reactions online.

Pastor David Platt: Gospel is advancing despite challenges in coronavirus pandemic

As a pastor, David Platt understands how discouraging it can be to walk through an empty church parking lot and into an empty church building to preach in front of a camera week after week.

“It’s just heartbreaking,” the McLean Bible Church pastor said in a recent discussion hosted by 9Marks ministry, as churches nationwide stopped gathering and took their worship services online.

He admitted to feeling frustrated as he tried to figure out how to care for the congregation and carry on the church’s disciple-making mission during lockdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite his frustrations, the Virginia megachurch pastor is confident that God is working. In fact, McLean Bible Church has been reaching out to the surrounding community in ways it hasn’t before.

“We kind of turned our main building into a factory, a warehouse for bringing in thousands of pounds of food and distributing it,” Platt said. “Every week, we’ve got thousands of boxes going out with the Gospel … and people professing faith in Christ through conversations from six feet away, and masks, from cars.”

The church has also been reaching Muslim neighbors and sharing the Gospel with them, something “we were not doing before,” Platt said.

“It’s just one example God is doing,” he said. “He’s working. The Good News of His grace is spreading. People are all the more open to it.”

Platt believes more avenues are opening for the spread of the Gospel and disciple making “that were not there before.”

Among his own congregants, he and other church leaders have been going live on Facebook every day at noon to pray together and share God’s Word.

“Why wasn’t I doing that before?” Platt wondered.

When viewing the current situation with travel restrictions worldwide and people unable to leave their homes, for the most part, it can feel as if COVID-19 is a hindrance to fulfilling the Great Commission, noted Jonathan Leeman, editorial director for 9Marks, in the discussion with Platt.

But the Virginia pastor said that is “absolutely” not the case.

“Nothing ultimately is an obstacle to the spread of the Gospel to all the nations,” Platt said.

Yes, there are challenges as it is now more difficult to interact with people and share Christ, especially with those who have never heard the Gospel. But as the Church in the book of Acts continued to grow despite persecution and obstacles, the Gospel will continue to spread today as well, Platt noted.

“God has the whole thing rigged,” he said. “He will accomplish His purpose. The Gospel will go forward.”

When he thinks of China in the mid-1900s when missionaries were expelled after Communists took power, “the narrative was, what’s going to happen? All these people who were working for the spread of the Gospel in China are now gone.”

But people in China continued to come to faith in Christ through underground churches. Today, one missions group, OMF International, believes China is on track to have the largest Christian population in the world by 2030.

“Throughout history, God has used circumstances that we thought were significant hindrances to actually lead to a significant advancement of the Gospel,” Platt noted.

And that’s what he’s praying for now.

“God’s doing things that we don’t see,” he said.

THE LANGUAGE OF THE RECREATED MAN - CHRISTIANGOSPEL TV

Man is a spirit, but he has a soul and lives in a body. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanc-tify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blame-less at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (NKJV). The human body is actually man’s domicile, his dwelling place.

When a person is born again, his spirit

is recreated, and that’s why the Bible says if any man be in Christ he’s a new creature, a new type of being that never existed be-fore (2 Corinthians 5:17).
God, by the Holy Spirit, then gives that recreated human spirit a new language and that language is what the scriptures refer to as “tongues of angels” in 1Corinthians 13:1.

After His resurrection and just before He was received up into Heaven, Jesus gave His disciples a rundown of the characteris-tic features of the new creatures by which they could be easily identified. He listed to them the many things they will be known for, things they will be able to do in His Name:

“…these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out
devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”

(Mark 16:17-18).

When Jesus said “these signs shall fol-low them that believe,” He wasn’t making a promise. Many people misinterpret this pas-sage of Scripture as a promise Jesus made to the believer that these signs will follow him, but it wasn’t a promise.

You have to understand that at this point in time, Jesus was talking to His disciples about the forthcoming generation of the Church; a special breed called a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy na-tion and a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9). It was to them He was referring when He said
these signs shall follow them that believe. If you have believed in the Name of the Lord Jesus and have been born again, then you’re the one He was talking about in Mark 16:17-18. You’re to be identified by these

signs.

Faith Is More Powerful Than Government And Nothing Is More Powerful Than God – Trump

We condemn all crimes against people of faith, and today we are launching another historic action to promote religious freedom. I will soon be signing an executive order to create a faith initiative at the White House.
Thank you very much.

The faith initiative will help design new policies that recognize the vital role of faith in our families, our communities, and our great country. This office will also help ensure that faith-based organizations have equal access to government funding and the equal right to exercise their deeply held beliefs.

We take this step because we know that, in solving the many, many problems and our great challenges, faith is more powerful than government, and nothing is more powerful than God.

“Faith is more powerful than government, and nothing is more powerful than God” - President Trump
Remarks By U.S. President Donald Trump at The National Day of Prayer
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you. Please. Thank you very much. What a day. What a beautiful day. And our country is doing very well. You’ll see some very good announcements very shortly.

It’s wonderful to be here on this glorious spring morning as we celebrate the National Day of Prayer at the White House in the Rose Garden. (Applause.)

I want to thank Vice President Mike Pence and Karen for joining us. Very special people. Thank you very much. (Applause.) We are truly blessed to have a Vice President and a Second Lady who believe in the power of prayer and the glory of God. And they do believe. I’m with them a lot; they believe. (Applause.) It’s good. Thank you, Mike.

Thanks, also, to the members of the Cabinet who have joined us today, along with so many amazing faith leaders from across the country, including my good friend Paula White, who’s done such an incredible job. Paula. Paula. Stand, Paula. Thank you, Paula. (Applause.) And the President of the National Day of Prayer, Dr. Ronnie Floyd. Thank you. Thank you, Doctor. Thank you. Thanks, Ronnie. (Applause.)

I especially want to recognize Cissie Graham. And I will now add that word “Lynch” because I always call her Cissie Graham, but it’s really Cissie Graham Lynch. You like it that way better, right? Don’t you think we — I like it that way, too. I like it that way because you’re married to a great gentleman. A fantastic man. So, Cissie, thank you very much for being here. We appreciate it very much. (Applause.)

Priest Narayanachar, Sister Bingham, Chaplain Agbere, Rabbi Shemtov, Cardinal Wuerl, and the Hope Christian Church Choir. I heard you, by the way, right inside the Oval Office. That was beautiful. That was great music. Thank you. Thank you very much. (Applause.)

As we gather this morning, our thoughts also turn to the memory of a man who awakened the light of God in the hearts of millions of America’s pastors. And that’s the great, legendary, wonderful Billy Graham. Great, great man. Great. (Applause.) So, Cissie, I want to thank you for carrying on your grandfather’s incredible, towering legacy.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
Today, we remember the words of Reverend Graham, “Prayer is the key that opens [to] us the treasures of God’s mercies and blessings.” Always beautiful. And when he said it, it meant so much. When I say it, it means something. But I liked when he said it better. (Laughter.) Right? I think he did that a little better than I do.

Reverend Graham’s words remind us that prayer has always been at the center of American life, because America is a nation of believers. Right? That’s very true. (Applause.)

The prayers of religious believers helped gain our independence, and the prayers of religious leaders like the Reverend Martin Luther King — great man — helped win the long struggle for civil rights. Faith has shaped our families, and it’s shaped our communities. It’s inspired our commitment to charity and our defense of liberty. And faith has forged the identity and the destiny of this great nation that we all love. (Applause.)

Americans of faith have built the hospitals that care for our sick, the homes that tend to our elderly, and the charities that house the orphaned, and they minister — and they really do, they minister to the poor, and so beautifully and with such love.

We are proud of our religious heritage. And as President, I will always protect religious liberty. We’ve been doing it. We’ve been doing it. (Applause.) Last year on this day, I took executive action to prevent the Johnson Amendment — a disaster — from interfering with our First Amendment rights. I was so proud of that. I’ve been saying from the beginning. You know that. (Applause.) I was saying for a long time we’re going to do that.

Across the government, we have taken action to defend the religious conscience of doctors, nurses, teachers, students, and groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor. (Applause.)

In January of this year, I was proud to be the first President to stand here in the Rose Garden to address the March for Life. A very special day. (Applause.)

And my administration has spoken out against religious persecution around the world, including the persecution of many, many Christians. What’s going on is horrible. And we’re taking action. We are taking action. (Applause.)

We condemn all crimes against people of faith, and today we are launching another historic action to promote religious freedom. I will soon be signing an executive order to create a faith initiative at the White House. (Applause.) Thank you very much.

(Applause.)

With us today is a living reminder of this truth. His name is Jon Ponder, from Las Vegas, Nevada. Where’s Jon? Come on up here, Jon. Get up here, Jon. (Applause.)

Jon grew up without his father. As he tells it, “My mother was strong, but she wasn’t able to keep us out of the gangs and off the streets.” Right? Jon was in and out of jail for years until, at age 38, he was arrested for bank robbery. You don’t look like a bank robber, Jon. (Laughter.) He’s come a long way.

Jon soon ended up in federal prison, relegated to solitary confinement. That’s where God found him. Jon began to read the Bible and listen to Christian radio. Right? (Applause.) Incredible.

One morning, at 2 a.m., he woke up to the voice of the great Billy Graham. Reverend Graham’s words came through the airwaves, “Jesus wants to be Lord of your life.” That night, Jon dedicated his life to Christ. (Applause.)

He spent the rest of his time in prison praying, studying the Bible, and bringing the Lord to his fellow inmates. The day after Jon’s release, a visitor knocked on his door. It was the man who put him in jail, FBI Special Agent Richard Beasley — who is here. Richard. Come on up, Richard. (Applause.)

“I want you to know that I’ve been praying for you very strongly,” he said, that, “God called me to the FBI in part because of you, Jon.” The two are now lifelong friends.

Jon, do you like him?

PONDER: I love him.

THE PRESIDENT: You love him? That’s nice. (Applause.) That’s beautiful.

Jon runs a ministry that has helped more than 2,000 former inmates rejoin society, and he’s the talk of the country. The job Jon does is incredible.

Jon and Richard, you are a living testament to the power of prayer. (Applause.) Your story reminds us that prayer changes hearts and transforms lives. It uplifts the soul, inspires action, and unites us all as one nation, under God. So important.

And we say it here. You know, a lot of people — (applause) — they don’t say it. But you know what? They’re starting to say it more. Just like we’re starting to say, “Merry Christmas” when that day comes around. (Applause.) You notice the big difference between now and two or three years ago? It was — Paula, it was going in the other direction rapidly. Right? Now it’s straight up.

Our country was founded on prayer. Our communities are sustained by prayer. And our nation will be renewed by hard work, a lot of intelligence, and prayer. (Applause.)

Today we gather to remember this truth: We thank God for the faith of our people. We praise God for the blessings of freedom. And we ask God to forever bless this magnificent land that we all love so much.

America, thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States. Thank you, everybody. (Applause.) Thank you very much. Thank you, Jon.

(The executive order is signed.) (Applause.)

Thank you very much, everybody. It’s a great day. Thank you.

Masks Alone Cannot Protect You – NCDC

An advisory on the use of cloth face masks has been issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The disease control agency in a tweet via its official handle said on Wednesday that physical distancing remains vital in protecting oneself from COVID-19.

The agency added that face mask alone is not the form of protection because the virus is primarily spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks.

“Remember, cloth face masks are to be used as an additional layer of physical distancing; a mask alone cannot protect you from #COVID19″

“Please continue to maintain a distance of 2 metres between yourself and others at all times to stay safe,” the NCDC tweeted.

The use of cloth face mask ranging from Ankara fabric to other fabrics has been on the rise in Nigeria.
The NCDC in its full advisory urged Nigerians to continue to wash their hands frequently, avoid large gatherings and adhere to other guidelines which are listed below;

1. Avoiding large gatherings.
2. Physical distancing by maintaining a distance of 2 metres between yourself and others.
3. Regular handwashing with soap under running water.
3. Frequent cleaning of surfaces with soap and water or disinfectants.
Who should not wear a cloth mask?
According to the NCDC, cloth face masks, which are a convenient substitute to medical face masks for COVID-19, should NOT be worn by individuals who are at high risk for complications due to the disease.
The following groups are advised to wear MEDICAL face masks instead of cloth face masks.
1. Health care workers and those caring for the ill.
2. Those experiencing respiratory symptoms like coughing and sneezing.
3. The elderly and those with chronic medical conditions.
Dos and Don’ts of cloths face masks
1. DO wash your hands frequently with soap under running water to avoid contamination.
2. DO adhere to social distancing measures and stay at home as much as possible.
3. DO wear a mask before leaving your home for essential services.
4. DO wear masks made with at least 3 layers of fabric.
5. DON’T use a cloth face mask on children under the age of 2 years.
6. DON’T try on new masks from vendors or wear immediately after purchasing; Wash before first use.
7. DON’T reuse a cloth face mask before it has been washed and dried.
8. DON’T leave a used face mask on uncleaned surfaces or in the reach of small children while not in use.
9. DON’T pull down your mask to cough or sneeze. Use a tissue or your bent elbow over the mask until you can safely remove the mask for washing.
Handling and care of cloth face masks
Since cloth face masks are reusable, it is very important to handle properly to avoid the further spread of infectious agents.
1. Make sure the mask has been washed and is unused before first wear.
2. Wash your hands with soap under running water before touching the mask.
3. If water is not available, use a hand sanitiser.
4. Cover your nose and mouth completely with the mask making sure it fits snuggly with no open gaps.
5. Avoid touching or adjusting the mask while it is on.
6. Wash or sanitise your hands before removing the mask by the straps.
7. Wash the mask immediately with soap or detergent.
8. Before reuse, iron the mask.
