The management of Kano Zoological Garden has clarified that armed robbers stole the missing N6.82 million and not a gorilla in the zoo as widely reported.

Mallam Umar Yusif Umar, the Managing Director of the zoo said it has no Gorilla and that the money was stolen in its coffers by burglars.

“I was called midnight on Sunday June 9th, by the head of security that armed robbers burgled our office including the revenue office,” Umar told journalists.

“About 6.30 a.m., I left my home for the office and immediately I arrived I met my office and that of all the directors opened.

“Instantly I called the DPO, Sharada police station and reported the case to him. As far as I’m concerned, I suspect theft and nothing close to Gorilla.”

Umar said the money stolen was N6.90 million and not N6.82 million as widely reported.

Kano police spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said 10 staff of the zoo, including the accounting officer Lawan Dandadarin, have been arrested and detained.

Haruna told newsmen that the statement collected from those arrested so far has nothing to do with Gorilla.

“So far, information collected from the suspects suggests armed robbery case and that of negligence,” Haruna said.

BBC Pidgin reported on Friday that Freedom Radio, a Kano-based radio station claimed that a finance officer it spoke to said “a huge Gorilla” sneaked into their office to “swallow” the money.

But the head of current affairs Freedom Radio Nasiru Salisu said the Gorilla story did not emanate from the station.

“We challenge anybody who claimed we break the Gorilla news to come out and prove it.

“We never report such story.

“Like every other person, we noticed the information on social media and a reporter was drafted to investigate the matter,” Salisu said.

Nigerian man finds ancestral pot with padlock and pictures
A Nigerian man identified as Daniel Ogbeide, has narrated how he found an ancestral pot which contains a padlock, was tied with some ropes and torn pictures attached to it.

According to him, he stumbled upon the fetish item as he dug a hole to bury his dog which died.

Narrating how he found the fetish item, the man wrote;

“I was amazed on what I saw just this morning! My little puppy died last night,decided to bury it early this morning,walked towards a nearby bush,I began to dug! Behold I saw an ancestral pot with a padlock inside tied with some ropes and a torn pictures magneted to it,I was like,maybe they caged his/her marriage,or financial breakthrough,or Destiny.. I quickly broke the padlock and threw it far away! No love in this County!”

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Wednesday, thanked President Muhammad Buhari for not converting him to Islam and for disappointing those who thought he had an agenda to Islamise Nigeria.

He stated this at the valedictory session of the Federal Executive Council.

He said;

“Let me begin by thanking God for the opportunity Mr President has availed me to serve.

Mr President, I met you first in 2007. I had never seen you before because when you were the head of state I was a student in University of Ibadan, a radical one at that, a Marxist, so we were among those who demonstrated against some of your policies.

You recalled when you came to my chambers in 2007, I wished you good luck and you turned to me and said, don’t wish me good luck, wish me the best of luck.

Recall I told you, you are the best material to be President of Nigeria, but unfortunately the elites will not allow you to be president and I was in PDP.

Mr President, let me thank you for not converting me to Islam. I say that specifically because in 2014, when I walked into Christ the King Catholic Church, I was literally chased out of the church as a governor because I was accused of supporting a man whose agenda was to Islamize Nigeria.

And in Rivers State they began to call me Alhaji Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. I thank you because they have dropped the Alhaji and back to Mr Chibuike Amaechi.

I was told in the cause of the campaign that you were autocratic and, therefore, you will not be democratic.

Most of us are not happy that you have moved from the autocratic nature of yours to an extreme democrat that everything is put to test of the people, to the extent that the people now feel that the only way things can go on in this country is by the rule of law.

UNN final year student commits suicide after battling mental health
A young Nigerian poet has committed suicide hours after he took to Facebook to write a suicide post that no one paid attention to.

Chukwuemeka Akachi was suffering depression and spoke about it on a Facebook post hours before he took his life. Sadly, the post barely got any reaction as people thought he was simply seeking attention.

He wrote on Sunday, May 12: “My mental health has been on life support for a while now. Thanks to those who call. Text. Visit. Speak to me. May we always remember. May we never forget. You may have added a few hours, months or days to my time here. But you know life support is expensive right? Thanks for trying. Amen.”


Then, on Monday, May 13, just before he ended his life, he shared a post titled, “suicide note”. In it, he made it clear that he was about to take his life. But very few paid attention to it until he followed through with the suicide.

His suicide note reads: “Suicide Note.
Forgive me. In case you are the one who found the body, I am really sorry. It had to be someone, you know. I have chosen Jo Nketaih’s poem as my suicide note: “They said you came looking for me. I didn’t drown; I was the water.” Where do atheists go to when they die? lol. Amen.”

We sell corpses bath water to pastors for N500,000 – Mortuary worker- STORYLANDBLOG

Dead body water, according to a mortuary attendant in Ghana, is being purchased by some pastors in the country for as much as N500,000.
In a report by Yen Gh, a female mortuary worker was seen in a video narrating how the water is in high demand.
According to the lady whose identity was hidden, the pastors pay as much as GH₵7,000, for the water, and sometimes they even have shortage.
She explained that some family members prefer to have their corpses bathed at the mortuary, and this is the water that the pastors come to buy.
She said when the floor is mopped, the cleaners squeeze the dirty water out and keep it in bottles which the pastors come for in disguise.
Describing it as a ‘side job’, the mortuary worker confessed to be doing this business in order to earn more money, explaining that the work in itself does not fetch them much.
“Even at this our job we don’t get much from it. But with this, sometimes we can’t even meet up with the demand from the pastors. We most of the time run out of water”
She, however, did not mention the names of the pastors and the churches, perhaps, for fear of being victimised.
“The pastors buy the water, it is in high demand. When the cleaners mop the floor after a corpse is bathed, they squeeze the dirty water into containers which the pastors come to buy,” the lady narrated.
The water is being used by the pastors who patronise it to perform miracles in their churches.
“Most of these pastors use the water to perform miracles for members of their church” she said

Manchester City retained the Premier League title in style on Sunday, holding their nerve to come from behind against Brighton and see off a charging Liverpool after a thrilling campaign.
Pep Guardiola’s team thumped Brighton 4-1 away to finish on 98 points — the second-highest total in Premier League history — as Liverpool beat Wolves 2-0 at Anfield to finish a single, agonising, point adrift.
City, who strung together 14 league wins at the end of the season, are the first side to retain the title since their bitter rivals Manchester United managed the feat in 2009, and remain on course for the first domestic treble in English football history.
But Guardiola’s team of aristocrats did not have it all their own way on a day of drama on England’s south coast in keeping with an astonishing season in which the lead switched hands time after time.
Liverpool drew first blood on Sunday, with Sadio Mane striking in the 17th minute to put them mathematically top of the table and on course for their first English top-flight title since 1990, before the Premier League era even started.
City fans’ nerves were shredded even further when Glenn Murray put Brighton in front from a corner in the 27th minute, resulting in a huge roar at Anfield.
But those cheers were quickly muted, with Guardiola’s side level just 83 seconds later, Aguero staying onside and keeping his cool to finish after a brilliant ball from David Silva.
Ten minutes later, the unmarked Aymeric Laporte rose to head in Riyad Mahrez’s corner to complete the turnaround for City.
Guardiola’s side continued to dominate at the start of the second half and were rewarded when Mahrez smashed in a third goal with 27 minutes to go.
Ilkay Gundogan then blasted home a free-kick to put the result beyond doubt.
– RECORD-BREAKERS –
City broke a host of Premier League records in romping to the title last season, becoming the first team in English top-flight history to reach 100 points and finishing a record 19 points clear of closest rivals Manchester United.
This term has been a totally different campaign, with Guardiola’s men forced to dig deep to see off the relentless challenge of Liverpool, who have lost just one Premier League game all season.
The champions have ground out a number of 1-0 victories in recent weeks, showing they have added steel to their style.
The outcome was cruel on Liverpool, who are second behind only United in the all-time list of English champions with 18 titles, although the last came in 1990.
The Merseysiders’ points tally is the third-highest in Premier League history.
Jurgen Klopp’s side travelled to face City at the Etihad in January with the chance to open up a 10-point lead but the defending champions won 2-1 in what turned out to be the pivotal match of the campaign.
Liverpool suffered a blip in late January and February, held to a series of draws, but they found their form again and relentlessly harried City, finishing with nine straight league wins.
Klopp’s team will have to put the disappointment behind them as they prepare to face Premier League rivals Spurs in the Champions League final in Madrid on June 1.
Elsewhere on the final day of Premier League action, Tottenham made mathematically certain of a place in the top four, drawing 2-2 against Everton.
Arsenal beat Burnley 3-1 while fellow Europa League finalists Chelsea were held to a goalless draw at Leicester.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United finished their season with a whimper, losing 2-0 at home to relegated Cardiff.
There were also wins for Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham. Southampton and Huddersfield drew 1-1.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Comission, EFCC, arrested popular Nigerian Musician, Naira Marley and ‘Zanku’ crooner Omomniyi Temidayo popularly Zlatan Ibile to profile them in order to establish their affiliations with internet fraudsters popularly called ‘yahoo yahoo’.
According to SaharaReporters, A top source at the EFCC said the graft agency has seized their laptops and phones to conduct forensics to determine their link to cybercrime.
The duo were arrested at Zlatan’s house in the early hours of Friday.
The source added that of the two artistes are also under the agency’s investigation for songs and comments glorifying cybercrime; most recently “am i a yahoo boy?” released on Thursday.
The Issa Goal singer has somewhat become an advocate for cyber crime as he even bashed other celebs who tried to go against his views.
It all started when popular singer, Simi, discouraged Yahoo boys from listening to her music. Then Marley took it upon himself to call the singer out as well as praise Yahoo boys.
On one of his Instagram Live videos, the Issa Goal singer urged Nigerians to pray for Yahoo boys because they make money circulate and not the politicians.
He said: “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round? You better sit down and pray for yahoo boys. If them stop yahoo, the money would not pass you guys.
“The money will go like this, from Obasanjo to Tinubu, from Tinubu to Mr Japa, you think me I need Yahoo? I make money from my music.”

OSUN STATE ELECTION: OYETOLA DEFEATS SENATOR ADELEKE

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been defeated by Gboyega Oyetola at the Appeal Court sitting in Osun.
The Appeal Court sitting in Osun state has ruled in favor of Osun state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in the Osun 2018 governorship elections.
The election petition tribunal had earlier ruled in favour of Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The judgment which was delivered by Justice Hannatu Sankey set aside the entire proceedings of the Tribunal because of its “faulty composition”. The judgment was upheld by four justices of the five-man panel.
This is all coming few days after Senator Adeleke was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force and taken into custody on the evening of Monday, May 6, 2019.

BREAKING NEWS: JAMB RELEASES RESULT- STORYLANDBLOG

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The results were released on Saturday.
The JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede also disclosed at the board’s headquarters in Abuja, that a staff member of the examination board, Mr Adamu Musa, allegedly collected N25,000 from an admission seeker in 2018.
The results released showed that about 1,792,719 candidates sat for the exams, while 34,120 candidates had their results withheld for examination malpractice.
The Registrar of the board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, further stated that 15,145 results were withheld for further clarification.
The 2019 UTME held between April 11 and April 18 in 698 computer-based test centres nationwide.
The board had said it was screening the UTME results for malpractices, saying 123 suspects had been arrested and were standing trial nationwide.

Men of the Lagos state police command are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a six-year-old boy, Treasure Akinsohun, whose body was allegedly found inside a freezer of a neighbor in the Ketu, Alapere area of Lagos.
According to reports, Treasure and his mother lived in Ikorodu and had gone to Ketu to celebrate the Easter with his mother’s younger sister. Treasure and the other children in his aunt’s compound were playing when he suddenly disappeared. His body was later found inside a freezer at Orisigun Street, about five streets from where his mother’s younger sister resides.
Narrating how it all happened, his distraught mother, Eunice Akinsohun, said she noticed her son was not among the other children that were playing in the compound, and When she asked for his whereabout, the other children could not give an answer. She searched around for him but could not find him. She immediately went to Alapare Police Station to report her missing son.
“I also called my husband on the phone to inform him of the development. “Before I got back home, a crowd had gathered at my sister’s house at Alapere to help in the search for my son. Throughout that day we couldn’t locate the exact place where he was. When my husband eventually arrived, he also tried his best with my sister’s husband and some elders in the community. He was still not found. That was how we went to back to Ikorodu that night with tears and anguish.” she told New Telegraph
Eunice said she and her husband were on their way back to Alapere from Ikorodu when they received a phone call that her son had been found in a woman’s freezer at Orisigun Street.
“Immediately I saw the corpse of my son, I fainted. I was later revived at the hospital. “What surprised me was how my son got into a freezer at another Lagos CP, Mu’azu street. I still don’t understand how he got into the freezer as I speak with you. But it is left for the police to investigate.”
Also speaking, the distraught father, Ojo Akinsohun, said he was preparing to go out when he received a phone call from his wife that their son was missing.
“I heard that the night my son was missing, the daughter of the freezer’s owner was sent to bring sachet water from the freezer, but she didn’t find the boy inside. I am surprised how the boy got into the freezer. I want police to investigate it and get to the root of the matter. I can’t sit down and allow my son to die in vain.”
Confirming the incident, the Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, said the body of the victim has been deposited in a morgue.

Happy Easter to you all. Of course, before this season of love, emourmous and rare love is being shown to the veteran actor and comedian Alh. Babatunde Omidina. With your help and love, Baba Suwe travelled out in company of his son Sola Omidina to the United States of America yesternight 20th April, 2019 to complete his medical treatment.
I must add that the Federal Ministry of Health through the Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) were able to stabilize him in order to make the long haul with little or no acute discomfort.
On behalf of Baba Suwe’s family, his colleagues, friends, TAMPAN movie association worldwide, I humbly register an undiluted appreciation to each and everyone for this wonderful show of love. Thank you once again to our dear mother, Rev. Mrs Esther Abimbola Ajayi for footing the air tickets.
Depending on the treatment and prospective out-patient appointments, Baba Suwe should be return to the screen hale and hearty before the last quarter of the year. He will be treated in a hospital in Rhode Island, USA.

Let me answer your question by saying it is very easy to use, all you need is to know the notes of the blues scales and you are good to go. Therefore, the notes of the blues scale (key C) are; C Eb F F# G Bb C.

Besides, there many pianist today who really want to know how to use and apply the blue scale, worry no more you are in the right place.

Have you ever wondered why Storm Is Over and
My Life Is Available To You share the same 1-4-5 chord progression? It is no longer a secret that a particular chord progression can be used to play tons of songs – all experienced musicians will tell you this.
If you give me your undivided attention, in the next 15 minutes or so, you’ll be learning a chord progression that is commonly used in gospel songs – especially in songs that are classified as worship songs.
A Short Breakdown Of The Term Chord Progression
The harmonic movement from one chord to another creates a chord progression.
In any given key (be it a major or minor key), there are eight degrees. Using the key of C major:
…as a reference, we have:
C as the first degree (aka – “the tonic”)
D as the second degree (aka – “the supertonic”)
E as the third degree (aka – “the mediant”)
F as the fourth degree (aka – “the subdominant”)
G as the fifth degree (aka – “the dominant”)
A as the sixth degree (aka – “the submediant”)
B as the seventh degree (aka – “the subtonic”)
C as the eighth degree (aka – “the octave”)
The movement of chords from one degree of the scale in a given key to another creates a chord progression.
Although there are various classes and types of chord progressions:
Chromatic and diatonic chord progressions
Cyclical and non-cyclical chord progressions
…and so on, we’re focusing on one of the long-established chord progressions that have taken a common place in worship songs.
“What Is A Cyclical Progression?”
Attention: Due to the fact that the chord progression you’re about to learn is a cyclical chord progression, we’ll invest a few minutes into the review of cyclical progressions.
In chord progressions, Chord 1 can move to any scale degree chord ranging from chord 2 to chord 7 in an unpredictable manner.
Cyclical chord progressions are predictable chord progressions where the root of a chord moves in a certain interval.
In music, the strongest movement between chords is in fifths and fourths. Chord progressions that are based on root movements in fourths and fifths are called cyclical progressions and this is because they move in a cycle using the same interval.
Fourth Vs Fifth
Attention: Fourth or fifth here has a lot to do with direction . Cyclical progressions ascend in fourths and descend in fifths. Using the chart below:
C to G can be a fifth or fourth.

…in the ascending direction is a fifth , encompassing C to G:
…five degrees of the scale.

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, has said that shoddy arrangement for general election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was a deliberate pre-determined agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to cling on to power even when its obvious to him that Nigerians want him out.

Secondus, in a statement Saturday morning by his spokesman, Ike Abonyi, said that the postponement which is allegedly part of a grand design by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to thwart the will of Nigerians at all cost, clearly exposes INEC as a failure and calls on the Chairman of the Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu to resign immediately.
The PDP leader warned that the party will not accept anything short of a well organized electoral process devoid of manipulation, harassment and intimidation of voters and the opposition particularly members of the PDP.
“Having failed in all their nefarious options to enable them cling on to power, the APC and the INEC came up with the idea of shifting election an action that is dangerous to our democracy and unacceptable”, he said.
The National Chairman said that the APC in connivance with the INEC have been trying all options including but not limited to burning down INEC offices in some states and destroying of electoral materials to create artificial problems upon which to stand for their dubious act.
“With several of their rigging options failing, they have to force INEC to agree to a shift in the election or a staggered election with flimsy excuses pre manufactured for the purpose.
