Nigerian Gay Man Openly Writes On How He Fought Against Homophobia In Nigeria



A Nigerian man, Felix Kalu who doesn’t hide the fat that he is a homosexual has relocated to the US, he shared a post on his Facebook page detailing how he fought homophobia before leaving the shores of Nigeria.
He wrote:


How I resist homophobia.
“I am 27 years old. I am young and powerful.
“Every war comes after a threat. The day my society threatened me they asked for a war. I will fight them to their knees. The more they resist me, the more I will persist.
I currently have someone in my life that makes me feel like a treasure. This person loves me very much. This person worships me. This person can melt mountains for me. We hope to get married some day. Everyone should be given the opportunity to feel the way I feel right now.
“A gay boy told me that his family thinks he is the one behind all the problems they are encountering. I have heard many of such stories where a family discovers a member was gay and concludes that God was punishing the entire family because of his homosexuality. In this boy’s case he was not just put out of the house, but all his clothes were burned. At that point can you imagine what life meant for him?
“That boy lived with me till he learned a skill and my last kobo was used to open a shop for him. I believe the only way we young people can protect ourselves is when we are empowered. Sometimes I have had to take them and keep them in my house. A boy came to me with full blown AIDS and left as a barber who owned a barbing salon and an undergraduate of the open university. I feel proud of myself. I said I am not going to have any biological child because of this.
“There was one day I left the house early in the morning to give my last 3k to a boy that was going for this dancing competition, his family did not support him because he danced like a girl. After I gave him that money I came back to the house to one pack of Indomie noodle that I hoped to eat that morning, I didn’t know there was no gas, I chewed the indomie like that with water, but when he won that competition I felt a satisfaction that no food can give.I didn’t buy new clothes for 3 years because I had boys going to school, boys who called me father even though some of them were older than me.

Maradona hospitalized after saying “Bleep Nigeria” during Match against ArgentinaArgentina great Diego Maradona appeared to need help to walk after watching his national team dramatically beat Nigeria to survive in the World Cup, according to a video clip posted on Twitter.



Argentine media, including newspaper La Nacion, said Maradona was treated for low blood pressure in the stadium and was able to leave normally shortly afterwards.
In the video posted by Fernando Schwartz, a well-known sports journalist in Mexico, a man can be seen helping Maradona to stay on his feet as he was led away from his seat overlooking the pitch and into an adjacent room.

A photograph also posted on Twitter appeared to show two medical staff attending to Maradona.
Earlier, he had been captured by television cameras flicking his middle fingers toward the crowd and celebrating wildly as Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1 with the winner coming minutes before the South Americans would have been eliminated from the finals.

The Argentine website of sports broadcaster ESPN said Maradona was taken to hospital.

‘I’m raging in anger right now’ – Efe reacts to killings in Plateau villages2017 Big Brother Naija winner, Efe, has reacted to the latest attack in a Plateau community by suspected Fulani herdsmen which reportedly led to the death of 200 villagers.



The attacks were carried out on 11 communities in the Gashish District by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Angered by the continous attacks, Ee shared on social media:
“The killings in Plateau State must stop… how can people go to bury their dead be killed too. How much can we endure… that’s how the “Dogon Nahawa” killings have been forgotten. 2019 is coming and we might repeat our mistakes again. I’m raging in anger right now. May God rest their souls. Amen

The affected councils, Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South, were immediately placed under a dusk-to-dawn curfew by the state government.

The Police Command in Plateau state confirms the attack: “Sequel to the attack in the Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA yesterday (Saturday) June 23, 2018, the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Jos, Undie Adie, after deploying more personnel in the district sent a search and rescue team from the Command headquarters today (Sunday) for an on-the-spot assessment.
“The team headed by ACP Edeh John of the Department of Operations had also the DPO of the Barkin Ladi Division and a Unit Commander from Mopol 38. After a careful search of the villages attacked in the District, the following were discovered: 86 persons altogether were killed, six people injured, 50 houses burnt, 15 motorcycles and two motor vehicles also burnt.
“The team also carried out a detailed deployment. Corpses were released to the families for burial. The command earlier in the day confirmed only 11 people dead as the result of the attacks due to the information at its disposal before the arrival of the search and rescue team from the Barkin Ladi LGA. This is to update members of the public of the situation as regards the attacks in the Gashish District as promised earlier on.”
Also, there were fears that some soldiers were missing during the attack but the Commander of the Special Military Task Force codenamed Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, dismissed the report. He said, “it’s not true, no soldier died and no soldier is missing.”

Oprah Winfrey signs multi-year content deal with Apple

Apple says it has reached a multi-year deal with Oprah Winfrey to create original programs for its streaming service.
Apple announced the programs will be released worldwide as part of a lineup of original content.
Apple has yet to launch its service, whose major competitors will include Amazon and Netflix.

“Together, Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world,” the company said in a statement. “Winfrey’s projects will be released as part of a lineup of original content from Apple.”
Winfrey founded and heads the OWN channel as chair and CEO. She recently extended her contract with OWN through 2025.
An OWN spokeswoman said Winfrey has an exclusive on-camera deal with OWN but can appear elsewhere on a limited basis.
Winfrey’s content for Apple will be solely for the streaming service, the representative said.

Whether Winfrey herself will appear in the shows she’ll produce is not yet known.
Apple has recently made similar deals with Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston,Steven Spielberg, Octavia Spencer and Kevin Durant.

In fact, Paul Manafort was not sentenced. Instead, a judge revoked his bail after finding that he had attempted to influence the testimony of government witnesses in the case against him. Manafort must now remain behind bars until his trial begins in September. Unlike Manafort, former FBI Director James Comey and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have not been charged with any crimes.

I only inserted my finger ,says man accused of defling 15 year old girl

A driver, Emmanuel Okorie, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s 15-year-old sister, has denied the allegation levelled against him by Lagos State Government.
The defendant, who is standing trial on a count charge before a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere yesterday, told the court that he did not defile the victim.






Okorie, who was testifying before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye on trial-within-trial, said:
“I put my hand in her vagina and when I noticed that she was a virgin, I let her go. I didn’t sleep with her, because I didn’t want to injure her.”.
He said the incident occurred at his elder sister’s house in Ejigbo area of Lagos. The defendant, who was led in trial-within-trial by his counsel, Mr. Worer Obuagbaka, also said that he neither made any confessional statement nor told his investigative police officer, IPO, that he had sex with the victim.

NOUN disowns fake exams questions on Buhari


The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on Tuesday denied any link with fake questions on President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent statement on Nigerian youth.
The university said it has concluded its exams and there was no basis for any question papers in circulation.
A statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of NOUN, Mallam Ibrahim Sheme, said the varsity has filed a formal complaint with security agencies to fish out those behind the fake question papers.
The statement said: “The attention of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has been drawn to a publication in the social media in which a purported examination questionnaire titled: “School of Education Course Code GST 103” was circulated as a document emanating from the university.
“In the fake exam sheet, four questions were posed, built around His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent statement on Nigerian youth. Each question was said to attract 30 marks if answered correctly.
“The so-called examination questionnaire issued by ‘Henry Osas’ had nothing to do with NOUN as all our exams were concluded long before the President’s visit to the United Kingdom where he delivered the speech Osas quoted.
“Even though some might consider the document invented and circulated by ‘Henry Osas’ and his co-travellers as a mere social media joke, we believe that the use of the hallowed name of the National Open University of Nigeria and its official logo to transmit the joke was done with mischief.
“We take serious exception to the use of our well-respected identity for such unpatriotic and unbecoming behaviour.
