TheGoodJoe: If Nigeria must realize her dream of ruling the world, then they must learn from the Spaniards. LA LIGA youth team trainer, Oscar Pruzon who was in Nigeria to lecture Nigeria youth coaches in March 2017 revealed that an average Spanish player would have been exposed to at least 500 competitive matches before the age of 17.

Mickael2: that's pure hype because he is white. That team at the Afcon 2013 was brilliant and they played very well, they definetly played better than we did against Cameroon in the return leg. Watch that match against Bosnia, we were technically better than them and the scoreline will even deceive you that it was a close game, we were totally better Wow. u really are saying this. def against bosnia gave us hbp. did oyinbo wall do that in both legs. big NO. Afcon team had star players and drive to win, but lots of unwarranted lapses which this new team have gotten rid off wit teamwork. |

This isnt hype, but no top team can punish us the way the Germans did to Brazil (even when our keyman/men are down/out at the world cup) we have too much pride to allow that happen. Why it seems so painful over the past years is because of the goal margin that made fans aggrieved and the on pitch attitude/loss of drive.(2002/10 WC) Today i believe all that have changed. |

AIG07: even Maradona attested to this. We gave them a run for their money.
A team which had the likes of Tevez, Messi, Aguero, Milito, Samuel, Heinze, etc. Even France didnt outplay us. Unless outplay has a new meaning. Outplay cases are: Liverpool vs Arsenal, man u vs Arsenal. |

Mickael2: we actually played very well against Spain but that's why they are a top team, ruthless. We totally outplayed Uruguay but we lost. That's the thing, top teams punish you for any mistake Mistakes that we weren't ready to work on then. So just agree this team is a far leap from those times. Didnt you notice the way everyone played to support a team mate in a tight corner? Just relax, we would soon have our Alves and Marcelo soon. Echiejile won't play always. There was teamwork to a great level against cmr. I however suggest you rewatch the match in Uyo. |

Mickael2: I am quite glad you mentioned that they couldn't get past our keeper. So our hope is our keeper? They totally outplayed us and could have been out of sight as early as the 10th minute but for our GK, is that the way forward? And against Spain we collected a serious thrashing they didnt outplay us. |

Joebie: lol if instructions alone could bring such cohesion in any team, there would be no need for friendlies my friend. Let's just wake up in Russia and get it started..
I'd just advise us to watch the match again. Then we can continue this discussion. And im speaking of the Nigeria vs Cameroon game in Uyo. To russia it is! sha happy there's a clearcut diff in our gameplay. thats what i'm tryna point out to mike. |

Mickael2: I never, never hyped the camoorians. Of course I said Bassagog would eat Echejile, he did but Balogun came to our rescue but I never hyped them.
We have played Spain and Argentina recently, both ended in defeats We have passion and drive than those times. besides there was no team understanding then(reason why there were losts of misplaced passes against these 2teams. Iniesta did lots of that in the ucl and peeps said he was finished.) recall the game against tahiti? emphasis on team understanding each other. Balogun knew that and it saved the day. |

Joebie: Actually, you need both team work and individual brilliance to fare well especially against big teams. But I like to engage people in a more mature manner. Maybe if we both go back to watch the build up to all the goals we will come to one common conclusion. Maybe its not the way he shouldave put it. Again, they might have been simply playing to instructions. but its WIP for now. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by daveP(m): 10:33pm On Sep 07, 2017 |
Mickael2: first of all, you think winning a game is only about the goals? Glad you counted out the first goal though.
Ok....goal number three was created and finished by Moses, that was literally a one-man counter attack, no team play there at all. Simon almost spoilt the groove.
Goal number 4 came because they were already down, if you know your psychology you would know that the goal was more about them than us, that doesn't take anything away from the sweet play though.
The second goal is the only serious claim you have. But tell me again how that corner came about. Who created the chance for Moses Simon? All the instances you gave have to happen. No team can have a perfect teamwork. There must always be a chance for individual flair now. Aspa understanding, thats where you have a case, and papi Rohr is working on that. Cr7 and Marcelo have a sharp understanding btw them than their team work. We would get there. We arent done yet. |

Joebie: Individual brilliance and minimal team work? Hmm... Lets both watch the Uyo match again. Its kinda like a 57/43 ratio. it wasnt that obvious but it was there in the 1st half. its nothing to worry about though since big teams do it also. the defence was the most glaring. organized teamwork. wingers usually go solo mostimes, so maybe thats the individuality he meant. |
