"High quality of Nigerian Engineering"......maybe in a parallel universe.
Anyone who has ever worked with welding and sheet metal can tell you what's immediately wrong in that pic. Stop being so impressed with nonsense. This is a rushed piece of junk.
The ARA on the other hand looks good.
Its the first of many, the ARA that you say is beautiful was not always that way, if you remember our first "MRAP" you can understand how experience could vastly improve ones work. So while i agree with you on that vehicle quite poor, i very much expect us to improve its design with more experience.
with over 300 tribes in a single country, and all these hate and selfish attitude portrayed by many... the marriage wouldn't work.
Ethiopia has the largest tribal diversity in Africa (more than Nigeria) but they are moving forward. why? Ethiopia existed even before Jesus came. they have no colonial masters or independence day.
what lord luggard did was an abomination! it will never work...not now, not ever!
How many ethnicities and religions does India have? how many does Papau New guinea have? If India could remain united despite the sheer differences between the groups then there is absolutely nothing stopping us from doing the same.
theenchanter: Lol, when was census conducted? The last census was catastrophic with governors coming up with pop figures.
A country of 198m with 30m voters when egypt with half our population had 27m voters...
Who's fooling who?
Nigeria is one of the youngest countries in the world, almost half are under 18 so it makes sense. That's what's scary though, our population is still to explode.
mikezuruki: Whatever the writer wrote, which didn't read because I know it's another shit attack on Christianity, the Church will continue marching on!
Idiocy like this always baffles me, maybe you should read it? Just a suggestion.
panafrican: Great idea but let's also think about the flip side of the coin:Foreign hostile forces will have a shortcut to knowing what to sabotage in Africa . Remember how and why Botswana that was once a promising and striving country in Africa was struck and crippled by HIV.
Foreign forces do not need posts on the internet to find out about potential targets, even if they did these projects are already in the public domain and us posting it here makes zero difference. Our job is to bring these projects to the attention of the wider world that is ignorant of what developments are occurring in the continent and how quickly we are moving forward despite the challenges we face. Many Nigerians I know are unaware of the developments happening in our own country, the same for most countries in Africa. Its threads like this in popular African forums that will bring those projects to light and hopefully instill some pride in the citizens of those countries.
We need a thread where we can post the different developments happening across the continent, whether it be infrastructural, educational, business e.t.c. I was initially going to make the thread only on Nigeria but it is very evident that we have a diverse community here on nairaland, so making the thread on developments across the continent seems to be the better option.
Also, this thread is not meant to be used for arguments. We as Africans are in the sewer, arguing on who is cleanest does not make any sense.
Anyways I guess I will start.
Zungeru hydropower project is a 700MW hydroelectric facility being built with Chinese assistance on the upper and middle reaches of Kaduna River in the Niger State of Nigeria.
The Federal Ministry of Power and Steel of Nigeria is the owner and implementing authority of the project.
Estimated to cost $1.3bn, Zungeru is the biggest hydropower project under construction in Nigeria. It is also one of the biggest power projects in Africa.
The Zungeru project is estimated to generate 2.64 billion kWh of electricity a year, which will meet close to 10% of Nigeria’s total domestic energy needs. Apart from electricity generation, the project also intends to provide flood control, irrigation, as well as water supply and fish breeding facilities.
68816419: Nigeria imports N4Bn worth of diaper and sanitary kits yearly. In July 2015,Hayat invested $100m to build a factory;plus 14MW electricity. The facility has been completed, and work has begun to produce 1.3billion units of diaper and 13,000 tons of tissue yearly. God Bless Nigeria
This is what I like to see. Why don't we have a thread here dedicated to developments in Nigeria, quite a bit of a shame that the largest Nigerian forum doesn't have such thread, unless am blind.
Am guessing no one wants to comment on the fact that a state is using funds to erect a religious site instead of building something to benefit its population.
Instead of the idiot to show up and score major points by pointing out Buhari's absence, he chose not to show therefore shooting himself in the foot. Who the heck advice's these morons? Idiots, both of them. Shameful to see people in here cheering for one side or the other.
You can have average players and still be a really good team, look at Iceland and Australia. The problem we have in naija is big man attitude, players like Moses and iwobi who are average somehow starts thinking they are hotsh*t because they play for big clubs. Iwobi took a ball from deep in naija's half and ran across the pitch to the other side of Czechs 18 without passing the ball, its that kind of individualism without talent that drives me crazy. They think too highly of themselves, no humility at all. That's why Nigerias B team seems to be (and indeed is looking better) than the A team. They have the desire.
To put this ongoing loss in perspective, Czech got thrashed by Australia, fucking AUSTRALIA. How are we currently losing to that team, where is our B team because it seems they will do better in the world cup than these idiots.
lionel4power: I daresay the Chinese J-20 might turn out more stealthy than the Russian Su-57.
What do you think?
Doubt it, for all the talk of Russia's inexperience in making a stealth aircraft they have more experience than China does (which is none). The plane looks cool but it is far too big and has far too many moving parts (that massive canard does not help its case). It is a bomb truck and nothing more, might have some stealth features but I don't thing it's nearly as stealthy as the SU-50 which in turn isn't nearly as stealthy as the F-22.
What kind of optics is it using, looks like good quality but also not powerful enough for a good zoom from whatever altitude the uav was flying. Anyways that can easily be remedied through upgrades.
lionel4power: F-16 both pilots ejected in Northern Israel.
Israel is biting more than it can chew
I doubt it, Isreal knows that russia is playing it safe and are jot going to get involved. They have free reign over Syrian skies, until ofcourse they kill Russian soldiers.
Sounds funny. I was going to type but immediately I saw the female icon in a military thread. I knew it's probably going to be a patriotic comment instead of something realistic.
