NwekereNdoki: It's unfortunate that some might see what you wrote and default to calling you names, but you are right. It's shameful that some poverty stricken northern states have better road networks and generally more beautifully kept environments than we do, soludo has his work cut out for him and I hope he delivers. 4 Likes |

The Soviets when they left Afghanistan left what was considered by many in the west to be a weak government and they were mocked for it, that government lasted for 3 years. To say that the US war in Afghanistan has been a failure would be an understatement, to say that the US is fantastically corrupt to have spent 80+ billion on an army that fell in under a month would be even more of an understatement. What a stupid country, all those lives wasted for no reason. The inevitability of the Taliban gaining control of Afghanistan was clear to all, just as it was clear that the vietcong was going to triumph in Vietnam. What should've happened was open dialogue with the Taliban to transition the country to them, but the US historically lacks foresight. 8 Likes |

Stephandesward: I was thinking that I was having a discussion with someone who wants to have an objective discussion but those last few paragraphs has snapped me back to the reality. Could those other ways of doing things possibly be the way that they have been doing it for decades with no result and being slaughtered? Are you equating Igbo marginalization with greater Nigerian suffering? And did you just suggest that because of the actions of a minority of a minority that Igbo's are nothing more than money and showing off? Have to give it to you, you had me fooled into engaging you, good job. 8 Likes |

Stephandesward: The region being oppressed for the first time is kicking against the operation, their method is wrong and condemnable however it was obvious this was going to happen and thus people shouldn't feign concern now. When 150+ Igbo's were killed just 2 years ago many thought it funny and didn't seem concerned to condemn the governments actions, those same people should keep the same energy now because otherwise they are clearly hypocrites. The southeast had been the most peaceful area of Nigeria for Atleast 2 decades now, I have no doubt that the current crises will pass, the days of bakassi boys came and went, this will surely come to pass. 11 Likes |

bidexiii: And there it is, pretending to be educated but his hatred is showing. Since you ask, the south is more educated, richer, better infrastructure, better quality of life and on and on. Are we still a third world country? Absolutely, are we better than you in everything, ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY. You are the ones dragging Nigeria back, every indeces has the north far behind the south, as a collective the south is dragging your dead uneducated corpses. Let us go and you will see the development, join Niger if that's what ya'll want. What nonsense. You were forming intellectual and someone who has sense, but your hate don dey show. The Southeast is destroying the homes they built with money you never gave them, they can rebuild it with money you will not give them so do not worry about it. 13 Likes |

bidexiii: They are UGM, the government hypocrisy is why we are where we are, if you don't see the irony and sarcasm then you are purposefully being blind. Terrorists where being branded as "bandits" and "Herdsmen" because the Government did not want to tackle them, any serious country would have labeled Miyetti Allah a terrorist organization for their actions across the nation, however they weren't and instead as soon as ESN was created that became the focus of attention. Many call them UGM because they are UGM, it's hypocrisy to come and be crying ESN when known terrorists are roaming about and being called bandits. 8 Likes |

cutievik: Lol, with the way they are treating ordinary citizens the Nigerian army are going to have a hard time in the South East. I know some here like to puff up their chest on how ESN or IPOB would be destroyed, but unlike the northeast, the southeast is a dense urban environment, the population is more educated, they have greater access to finances, have a massive diaspora and access to world institutions. This is not 1967,i do hope cooler heads in our government prevail. You can bring an end to the anarchy but not through heavy handedness. 2 Likes |

Our country is being sold right in front of our eyes. When Buhari allowed U.S to operate inside Nigeria, I raised alarm but the usual people said everything was under control and nothing was wrong. We are about to become Iraq and Afghanistan, having a perpetual presence and source of destabilization inside the country in the name of security. Instead of advisors, pmc's and asking for weapons donation we are asking for them to come inside the country (I know he didn't say it but we all know that's what he meant). We a tethering on the edge of being labeled a failed state, and a country were world powers will used our people to test their weapons. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Change, no one asked if it was for better or worse, well, the answer is here. This is what happens when a country elects an ethnocentrist, bigot, uneducated and most importantly A PREVIOUS DICTATOR. When he refused to appear for debates was when I confirmed that he was not mentally capable to lead a country, and the events in the last year has reaffirmed that believe. I can't believe that we have a leader that is making me wish their was a coup, because this country is not going to survive till 2023. But unfortunately coups are almost never successful (maybe egypt is the more successful recent example). Nigeria is in trouble, we have been saying it and I am glad to see that those who shout down at others have all disappeared, it shows that they have seen the truth and are too ashamed to admit it. 13 Likes |

bidexiii: The way you worded your statement makes it seem like you are saying that they can meet the demand, but assuming it's the opposite that you meant, what explanation is there for buying MRAPs from 3 or 4 different nations? The Chinese ones can't meet demand? The south african ones can't? These saudi ones can't? When demand increases, capacity increases. If you gave a firm order of 200 MRAPs to proforce, they would increase production and expand, that's how you build up your industry. 5 Likes |

One thing I hope we are doing is transfer of technologies and if not we need to have a dedicated team of engineers stripping these vehicles so we can reverse engineer these things, a country as big as Nigeria should Atleast be able to be producing its own guns, howtizers, turrets e.t.c. 4 Likes |

Aconomist: The coastal railway benefits Nigeria first, the South to North projects benefit us but also China, and guess who we get loans from. The rail that runs to the interior of the country from the coast is beneficial to the Chinese because it aids in resource extraction (from both the North and Niger), clearly, however, the coastal railway is the most economically beneficial to Nigeria. 1 Like |
