it isn't a matter of disbandment but what should be done is by adding 3-4young fresh faces lyk ihenacho, yahaya etc and then dump some of dis guys lyk emenike and 1 or 2 more.. but first of all we need a sound technical coach.. keshi has tried but i tink we need a change..
lyk d sayin goes, Change is d only constant thing in life

Seriously, should we beg these idiots to take some of our U17 World Cup winners and put them into the senior team. our U17 team played BEAUTIFUL football in that world cup, in fact i am of the opinion that everyone in this eagle team retire and our team should be built around those young boys. Give them 3 or 4 years and they will be in the top 15 teams of the world and hopefully by Russia 2018 we can make a splash. If not sacking the whole current team and bringing the U17 guys why not take the best 4 or 5 of those U17 guys and start grooming them for the senior team, why is this crap so hard to freaking understand? Nigeria man, the land were common sense seems not to exist for anyone in a position of import.

Tambuwal has no where to go but down. The political consensus in Abuja and Sokoto is to strip him bare. You don't pick a fight with the federal government, when you depend on them for survival.

Boko Haram have shown that not only can you pick a fight with the FG but you can do so and win, if only our priorities were in the right place instead of this APC vs PDP rubbish

Well dude honestly that's mostly for Show hey, when you look at most special forces they don't wear all they're equipment like that, its more about training and skill then the amount of gear you have on you, when you look at the S.A.S the Seals etc... They hardy ever where identical gear, every guy dresses in the way he's most comfortable in, you find differences in weapons, battle vests some prefer armour and some don't.
Most S.Fs prefer to travel light preferring to carry more ammo the armour, and give up protection for better manoeuvrability.

But those dudes surely do look pretty sick.

Every thing that the ivorian have on is functional and while they might not have the training of the S.A.S or the Seals they got the functional kit down. Training is indeed good and it is indeed a major part of any Special Force, but if your SF are not properly kitted, if they don't have the proper food rations or the proper amount of ammo how are they going to survive. I have seen our soldiers in Nigeria fighting with flip flops, some of them wearing t-shirts with a vest on top. That is the height of negligence, there is nothing wrong with wearing different gear but there is a difference between different gear and no gear.

Absolutely amazing, this is how a special force should look. Hopefully Nigeria learns a thing or two from its neighbors.

This is the biggest reason why corruption festers in this Country, if someone is accused of corruption people will adamantly defend the person as if they are being paid to do so. Even if COLD HARD evidence emerges people will still defend the person, let me ask those defending this man, Is there any reason why? Why can't we call a spade a spade eh? Why must we defend corrupt individuals? do you think they care about you? or maybe you think if you defend them you will gain prosperity?

It is pretty evident that the United States has no interest in helping Nigeria, based on their warped sense of Morality. If that is the case then shouldn't we look at other sources for Arms Procurement? Russia? China? Pakistan? South Africa (Through the proper channels) and many other countries. Why cant we give a big middle finger to America and procure our Arms from reliable sources, who not only will sell us those weapons for a cheaper price but also deliver it on time. Isn't it time African Nations stop sucking up to these western Nations who are undermining our progress? isn't it time we started acting as Sovereign Nations?

I am baffled by this Question, are you saying that if Boko Haram is denied funding(which provides them with Weapons, Food, Logistics) they would continue to exist? are you serious?

^^^ It baffles me that we do not see this things more often, how the military determined that it would be better to keep the public in the dark in regards to the affairs of our brave young men and women is beyond me. Its truly telling of the kind of idiotic leadership we have in all areas (bar a few) of government in Nigeria , the picture you just posted even though its little gave me a boost in confidence that our boys can accomplish the job, imagine what a media onslaught by the DHQ will do to Patriotism in this country. Anyways thanks for posting the photos, anyone who has access to Military top brass should strip them and spank them until they allow the public to see pictures such as these, because you have to be daft to deny the public a chance of supporting and encouraging their own troops.

I am seriously hoping that the news is not true, because if it is it spreads doom for this country and Boko Haram will become the next ISIS. And it is time you guys stop thinking of Boko Haram as some bushmen without training, they have thousands of member and maybe tens if not hundreds of backers in high place of government. They receive financial backing and training from those backers and that means that this guys are more than a match for the military, our governments incompetence is whats leading to this crises and barring this APC vs PDP bullshit people should vote in someone who is COMPETENT. If someone like Adesina (Agricultural Minister) ran for president i will vote him in in a heartbeat because he is COMPETENT, he has performed above and beyond in his field, which is something you cannot say for a majority of those in Nigeria's government today.

People's Ethnic bias will not let them see that we have idiots in power, the day we start electing people based on merit rather than "My Igbo brother, Yoruba brother, Hausa brother e.t.c" will be the day this country moves forward. Also for those saying its not your problem because it is happening in the North, dont worry it very soon will become your problem.

Man Some Nigerians in here are Dense hell, Having the logo of a FOREIGN COMPANY in the NATIONAL ID CARD OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA is a disgrace. It is shameful, infact one can even say that it is treason of the highest order, Not just that but that foreign company is based in a country NOTORIOUS for SANCTIONING those who don't hold its views. So tomorrow if Nigeria and USA part ways and US decided to sanction Nigeria EVERY NIGERIAN will be affected because Mastercard will have to co-operate with its home country's wishes. How is this hard to understand? Damn. We have monkeys as..................................scratch that, it is an insult to monkeys to compare them with our leaders. Our leaders have no equal, they are inept, un-educated, bottom of trash human beings.

When people are pushed to the wall and they bounce back they will end up being pushed through the wall, this will solidify any decision to ban them completely.

Its truly shameful that accomplishments such as these are ignored by nigerians as a whole, this should make the front page but unfortunately it doesn't. When incredible individuals such as these win medals and break world records they are not recognized but when they come home empty handed we all start critisizing them, nigerians arr trully pathethic. These are the same criticism many of you would make here, but because it came from a Ghanaian you all find fault in that. Is a disgrace that a airport like MMA (supposed gateway to west Africa) is in such a dilapidated state, and is it new that Nollywood production (98% of it) is usually messed up? or is it because it was mentioned by a Ghanaian?. The day we as Nigerians recognize our weaknesses (while avoiding to be overly critical like many in here) will be the day we move forward.

That is the key.
Also, they are allowing the American govt to help do something on the side of the border, but our own govt are doing NOTHING . . .
They (Mexico) share one of the longest borders with the US, the United States government will be stupid not to help (in the spirit of protecting border states from massive inflows of immigrants). Even with their help the violence is now spilling over into US cities, i am not trying to prove that Nigeria is doing anything because they are not but what am saying is that Mexico with all its military and police and help from the US are not able to contain the Cartels in fact they have empowered them and casualties are rising every year.

10 Most Dangerous African Countries in 2012

That does not mean Mexico would not be on the list. This specifically applies to African countries (according to the heading). Mexico may fall under North American countries. Yes, reading is fundamental. Do not divert the topic's attention to Mexico's troubles. You should be able to analyse any piece of information and broaden your thoughts, not jump straight to what you think you might know.

The heck are you talking about, when i said reading is fundamental i was referring to myself. I failed to read the headline which is why i asked why mexico (which is a country that is very dangerous) was not included, withing the first page i realized my mistake and replied accordingly. remember my comment was "Reading is fundamental i know, but it also applies to you", when i said "i know" it was obviously directed at myself, when i said "but it also applies to you" it should be obvious that i was referring to you. The reason being that i had responded to a comment exactly like yours and it was only a post above yours which is why i concluded the reply by saying "take a look above your comment would you?". Your reply has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion at hand

It is not about how many have died, it is about what is being done to prevent more death . . At least the Mexican govt are doing all possible to fight the cartels

The Mexican governments war on drugs has been failing since its inception, sure they seem like they are trying but the casualty figures say otherwise.

This is why i don't comment much in Nairaland, it's because "Pathetic Ignorant illiterates" (see what i did there?) like yourself are always ready to attack someone. I already responded in the first page after i was informed that the list was for Africa alone, obviously i made an early conclusion without looking at all the details and i admitted that. You have no right whatsoever to call me a "pathetic ignorant illiterate" just because i made an early conclusion i wonder what you will do when people disagree with you.

Listen mate, if you don't have nothing to add, STFU. Keep my nutz out of your mouth, dirty Igbo clown. Where did I instigate Igbo bashing? So, responding to Igbos teasing Yorubas equates to instigating in Igbokwu's dictionary, huh?? Get a life, prick.

May god (if there is one) have mercy on your soul, i hope that the amount of insults you dish out to people are worth it. Hiding under the facade of anomity gives people the ability to not only insult but degrade someone they have never met. You don't even know if am igbo but because of your shortsightedness you asserted that i was igbo, it saddens me that there are millions of people like you in Nigeria (both Igbo, Hausa/fulani and Yoruba). Keep up the good work /s.

The forums i participate in (neogaf.com) are usually very civilized, you can have heated arguements but atleast the person/people you are arguing with is educated and they wouldn't start calling you names. This thread is the saddest display of tribalism that is present in Nigeria, i have been reading nairaland for a long time but this thread pushed me to register. It is really sad how a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with the Igbo’s divulge into Igbo bashing, the three main instigators of this being Desola, Ileke-Ide and bittyend. The outright hatred for one group or another displayed here in Nairaland is something that you all should be ashamed of, I am utterly disgusted by it. And are there any moderators in Nairaland? Can people get banned? because it seems to me like this place is a free for all were the worst of the worst get away with disgusting statements whether it be directed at the Yoruba’s, Igbo’s or Hausa’s.
