Romance › Re: Valentine Stories by davidif: 3:54am On Feb 11, 2017 |
Lepetitechic: In 2012,i met my now fiance. We were just friends, then friends who were sweet on each other, soon enough we started dating. We had distance to deal with so we used instant messaging and Skype to keep the relationship going. In December of 2013 he told me he was coming to see me. I thought he was joking. Before I knew it he bought his plane ticket and I was on my way to the airport to see him. We were meeting for the first time in person, so I was freaking out! He was supposed to be here on Valentine's day in 2014 since the 15th would be our anniversary. Delta botched it, he got delayed and got here February 16th instead. I was looking at him like, see this stranger and he was looking at me like "I'm not shy but I'd play it cool." Soon enough that wore off and we chatted for hours. 5 days before he left, he proposed to me and we're now 4yrs and counting. (I swear this story sounded sweeter in my head. Is this how we'd tell our kids we met? ) |

Nogodye: But i think Trump is trying to protect the country and make it more secure... First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.Martin Neimoller. |

ISpiksDaTroof: We do not need your advice. We've survived 100s of years without a mad man at the helm of our affairs. Men like Trump are alien to us, and we only hear of them running far off third world countries in Africa and the such. Perhaps, after we impeach him (if we don't lock him up) you should make Trump President of your country? Don't mind them jo. |

Business › Re: Nigeria’s $1 Billion Eurobond Oversubscribed By 7 Folds by davidif: 4:34am On Feb 10, 2017 |
Truth234: Oga, it is borrowing and the difference between bond sales and conventional borrowing is actually our disadvantage. For instance, the government is issuing this bond at a premium high (interest rate) to attract investors. While in conventional borrowing interest are way lower (foreign institution) and costs of servicing debt are cheaper but when there is no foreign institution that wants to borrow us due to the current headwings in the country and the downgrading by credit ratings in recent time. The government result to borrowing (bond sale) at a very 'High Cost'. Don't forget this is money we really do not have.
Let me ask you, why are investors rushing the bond giving the level of risk exposure and uncertainty? No mind dem jare. The ignorance here hurts. |

Boss13: Nothing special. There is no other investment opportunities. Ghana's Eurobond was oversubscribed too. Foreign capital investors are looking for the next piece of action to make money and the interest rates are going to be a killer though. The riskier the bond, the higher the interest rate that's what makes it worthwhile for investors. |

UncleSnr: Please if you understand, kindly explain for us.
Speaking on behalf of those that will shout sai baba, or shame baba. We need to understand before choosing which to shout. Bond is the same thing as debt meaning that you have to pay it back with interest. In other words, it looks like Nigeria is trying to spend its way out of a recesion which I doubt is going to work. We are doing almost the same thing the Americans did in the 30's and what several other countries did after that, the thing is it didn't work and Nigerians are about to find it out the hard way. Just ask the Japanese. |
