I took the easy way out, I'm back to being a Christian. My unbelief was hurting the people who truly cared about me.
Was it fair to lie to yourself to keep people happy?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 12:32am On Dec 22, 2014
ezme are you an ignostic?

Hiswordxray:
I had answered that question before and asking this question proves what I had been trying to say all this while.
You can't understand spiritual things even if I try explaining it to you. You won't understand and you will only come back to ask the same question again.

Please let me help you. You really need help. God loves you.
Then what was the point in telling me something is "totally objective",when a simple question like "why is it then read in subjective context" is to you not understandable?
You have no case hiswordxray....proselytizing to me won't change that..
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 11:16pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Well, I think I had answered that question before.
Nope...how is something totally objective viewed through subjective contexts?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 11:11pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Totally objective but some pretend not to know the truth just like I pretend not to know that everybody have thought.

I am only trying to tell you to stop playing the pretence game, it doesn't help nor make you look smart.
If it is totally objective...why do you read it for subjective contexts?
Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 11:08pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Like I said - we have the ability to know the truth. So I can't fall into a trick because inwardly I always know the truth.
And you know what I am saying is the truth but because you thought God stole your lunch you are unwilling to accept the truth and come into the light.

You are wrong God didn't steal your lunch but He loves you.
lol...you sir are a special case.....good day. smiley

Have you become so good in hiding from the truth or is this a joke?
One question would tear your "truth" to shambles....is it objective?
Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 10:51pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Wow! How ironical.
He that lives in lies and call it reasonable knowledge is now able to detect a lier.
And you have been asked several times to divulge information...but you have refused on the pretense that one needs to accept a pre-concluded bias(spirituality) before it becomes clear...
The last question i'll ask is this....if what can kill is also portrayed as an elixir of life on the pretense logic of your blind man analogy...would you accept it?

No, that's not what he's saying.

He's essentially preaching his hippy (and hypocritical) BS and taunting it about as if it were some sort of universal truth and/or good. That's it. Nothing as sane as simple concern for the environment.
in the long run,its still technology that can be used to nurture nature efficiently...
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 10:41pm On Dec 21, 2014

Well, keep running away from the truth it is not going to help issues.
Are you so deep in your own confirmation bias or is this a joke?

Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 10:37pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
I don't need to explain because it is very simple and if you don't understand it shows you desperately need wisdom.
It's simple and yet you fail to explain it?...can you see your bias?...it's best you come out and tell us you have no case instead of lying or a.k.a violating your 9th commandment..
Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 10:32pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Like I said - those verses do not contradict each other in any way but they are in perfect harmony. The reason why you see contradictions is the reason why a blind man can see colors.
Either tell us the factor that makes a contradiction coherent or explain how a contradiction of usage of words is the same with a lack of photosynthetic receptors to sense light and its varying spectra...
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 10:29pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
No that is the first step of you telling me the truth.
This is the underlying problem I have with theists,I tell you plainly something and you take it according to how you feel it is....
Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 10:24pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Like I said before - if you can tell me how to explain color red to a totally blind man then I would explain those verses.
Okay...how does a blind man analogy on colour go with a verse that says two contradictory things...tell us the missing factor that makes that contradiction coherent..

And if the world was structured after contradictions like "do not look left to look right and left when crossing the road" how would you make it coherent?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 10:20pm On Dec 21, 2014

I thought you said the reason why you left Christianity is because God stole your lunch grin
That was sarcasm...of which I told you it was when you had asked...

Hiswordxray:
I want him to seek for the truth. And when he had learn that there are so many contradicting views he would turn inward for answers.
This is exactly what I have been trying to tell you - the truth is not something out there but it is something inward.
What is out there is diverse and confusing but we can be sure of what is in our heart.

What is in our heart is a hunger for God, a desire to pursue God and an ability to humble ourselves and believe in God even when we don't understand him.
Stop living in the world of confusion and contradiction but turn inward and find the truth.
And I have told you that you aren't looking for truth whatsoever because you are preaching and you have never even for a moment doubted your belief..
You tell people to look "inward for truth" when you really mean you want them to make themselves believe again...
Hiswordxray if objective evidence goes against a subjective "truth"...what would you do?...
Christianity Etc › Re: Great Bible Contradictions by davien(m): 10:11pm On Dec 21, 2014
Hiswordxray:
Would you expect a blind man to see what you see?
Or would you expect a fool to applause the wisdom of the wise?

We are two parallel lines that can't meet. So why don't you mind your business and stop interfering in things you know nothing about.
instead of putting your tongue in your cheek and sneakily insulting rossike, tell us the answer...enlighten us with your "spiritual" brilliance..

so there's a limit to asking questions when it comes to religion?...let me ask you a question, would you opt for the sweetest lie or the most horrendous truth?

I have done so research myself but what you have here is false. Study deeper and compare different historian views concerning these issues.
or rather you want him to lean onto those who support the fallacies and create apologetics to it.. undecided
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by davien(m): 9:46pm On Dec 21, 2014
Frosbel...I believe it is good that you have researched about your faith....I did the same and found the very same thing you did.
Now you have a choice of what to do with the knowledge....keep quite and let people believe this dishonesty or speak out and correct this problem..
I'll leave you to make your own choices though....an advise would be to keep learning and finding out if what you had once found to be true about the world is what you're told it is.

sinequanon:
We should be managing and nurturing the environment, not focusing on exploiting it. There is a world of difference between the two things.

We need to be very clear in our minds about what kind of civilization we want, before we can talk about progress and advancement. Otherwise, towards what are we progressing? I think this is a moral question. Most people don't think beyond "more technology is progress -- it must be helping somehow".

If we treat the environment simply as a resource, we will mess it and ourselves up.

Without a moral compass, we react to the mess we create once it becomes intolerable. With morality, our motives are underpinned by a coherent long term vision in which technology is not used to replace responsibility.
And what is the best way to manage and nurture nature?

We all know all men are prone to death....so you won't leap off faith to know you will also die, you won't leap off faith to think that life as a meaning, it has a destination.
Yes I would die, that is a beautiful consequence of living...now what is the meaning of life?
You won't leap off faith being conscious about what will happen to your soul after you die.
What is a soul and how do you know I have one?
Have you ever noticed that your spirit is different from your body?
No,because I do not know what a spirit is...
That your body feels llifeless, with you at command of everything. You will feel it better when someone overpowers your body and you feel helpless, when you beg someone to spare your life. Sit and think and discover that there is something controlling the lifeless body, the spirit. Where will it go when you kick the bucket?
So if a cow is struggling not to be slaughtered...it isn't in control of its body, but a spirit is in control? shocked shocked shocked

If faith has to be backed by evidence, isn't it useless?
No one is telling you to back up faith with evidence....I only tell you to back up your claims with evidence...subjective views like faith doesn't verify anything..
Pls, ponder over it for a minute. Do you as an atheist have an evidence of the nonexistence of God?
I am not the one making a positive claim...so asking for a negative is redundant...you are the believer, can you justify your beliefs or are you going to go in circles looking for who to unjustify your beliefs which have never been justified?
You might as well ask me to give you evidence for the non-existence of big foot..
We all need faith, our faith is then strengthened by the situation's antecedents.
Do you look at both directions of the street before crossing?...why don't you have faith that no car is approaching you?

What contradictions? Why did you have to follow him at first? Why didn't you ask for proof? What you did later is not significant to me.
We know houses are prone to fires...so it won't be a leap of faith for mine to be on fire...in reality we know nothing absolute about "god/gods",hence we have thousands of religions with thousands of denominations...

Then what do you use in backing your faith. What gives you that what you don't know, what you can't prove doesn't exist?
Your posts are getting even more reta.rded by the minute...if faith is a belief in something that lacks evidence, can one have a belief to not believe something that lacks evidence?
or can one have faith to not have faith? undecided
Think critically...

It is not for me to prove the existence of nothing, its actually what I was trying to say didn't start the universe.
I am not expecting you to prove "nothing"...i am simply saying since one doesn't know that nothing is or ever was in existence then one count draw any conclusions from it..
God doesn't need to be defined, it is yours to loose if he actually exists.
Then why does the bible give definitions of its qualities that contradict reality?
May I ask you a question? A man was at a bar drinking hot drinks, then a gentle man comes to him to tell him that his house was burning. As a rational man, what will you do? Answer pls. Don't forget that you haven't answered the main question. wink
This question was posed by ray comfort in his "way of the master" program,i'd simply go and verify if my house is on fire and then ask others if they have spotted any fires...if I don't find any fire then i'd ask where he observed it from...if he can't show me any fire...then i'd have to presume there isn't a fire after consulting the fire department to also check for a fire..

My point is that when you continue cutting a piece of yam, you get to its atom, where no further division can be made. If you continue to probe for the source of the universe, it doesn't lead to infinity, it leads to something, Yahweh.
Actually the source of the universe lead to a singularity not yahweh..its expansion was termed the big bang..
