Guys, listen to this advice. Felicity0001: In fact enh... Today traffic na die...suppose 9th life has returned I would have just pack hoping to work all through the 9th because dis traffic self won't allow people go out while most riders will japa and leave driver to his cross.
I tot I'd escape the ojodu1 berger traffic I never knew I was in for season 2 in Surulere, all the way from Jibowu to fund to williams down to costain is hellish.
If you love yourself just off your app and wait till tomorrow or another day b4 you work. |

Some riders are just wicked. Carried one from Agungi today to Fagba side. 3 hrs journey. Even had to go follow airport road cos of traffic. Paid extra toll gate. Rider insisted she wont pay me more than the agreed fare. It was on Indriver. Local man just weak. . pope191: See as my heart is beating for u, 4600!
Some riders just wicked finish, don't know why human being don't reason... I just use one of the worst road ever since I've been driving "Canal Ave" Okota, and the pethetic tin is having a better alternative but long route. She was just telling me sorry, my face strong die wit d F lose word coming out after my bumper pulled off from one side.. Got to her destination before telling me to use the alternative, only to find out its 3:10 ratio beta of the bad road I used to drop her. Human! |

Listen to this advice. I regret using mine for this biz. In less than few months, you will hate the car. chinyce: Do not use this car for uber in Lagos, I repeat, do not attempt to use this car for uber in Lagos for UberBolts fares of N400. Not even for part time. Is just not worth.
If my brother was stubborn to change it for 06, I will just simply park it for private use and keep posting my brother.
After 3 months, this car will not look like this again, and your brother will still blame you.
Or sell it, buy an 06 cool and get some change. |

You dey mind them. I use same car for this biz and the fuel consumption is ok. peeps4u: Fuel consumption is always exaggerated. If there is no problem with a car, any 4-plug car fuel consumption cant be overbearing. I've seen people using honda accord 05 with a bigger engine for this hustle. Why will 10 Corolla fuel consumption be worse than big daddy or camry muscle with bigger engine, which some people still use for this biz |

Report to Uber. They will settle you. omorkelly: I hail you all, pls we all should be careful on the personality we pick on offline rides. Picked some guys on uber trip at Ikeja Shopping Mall yesterday. Close to destination on Ipaja road at that command-Ayobo junction, some policemen stopped me and asked me to park. Started searching everywhere. ME : Oga, you didnt even request for particulars/license POLICE: No we dont have issue with you but your riders. We received a tip earlier bla bla bla. I now realized i have a yahoo boy, his brother and two girls as my riders. I was made to turn back even follow a one way to reach their station. Trip ended at 2400 but guy couldn't pay as all their phones had been seized. Though he promised to get back later after settlement with polce but he hasn't yet. I want to give him a little more time. Gentlemen be cautious always!!!! |

Are you sure rider's destination now shows on Uber? Didnt see anything like that yesterday when I updated their app. northbird: That would be a good one.
I guess they are losing drivers due to cancellations.
Uber thinks bringing new drivers would mitigate the effect of the banned drivers, in the long run, yes, but in the short run, they are actually losing revenue.
Cos, it takes sometime for the rookies to come to speed on how to make money.
The best drivers from a revenue perspective ( that earn most) are those that filter/select their trips. You need destination for that. Esp.in a city like Lagos
Seeing destination reduces cancellation rates for both drivers and riders. Riders will only cancel by choice not out of desperation.
It helps the driver/partner plan his/her trip. You work on the island. You close from work, you live around Ajah/ sangotedo axis.
N uber is bringing trips going to ojodu/berger, abule egba, mainland. .
This will make d driver cancel, rider is frustrated, driver is unhappy he can't get a trip home.
Eventually driver gets blocked, Uber loses money, the cycle repeats itself.
In Lagos, some areas you don't want to go to, some drivers/partners will like to go there. So keep the rides open. |
Politics › Breaking: Lagos Lawmakers Go For Covid-19 Tests, Fumigate Assembly by davit(op): 10:30am On Jul 15, 2020 |
Following the death of the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon Tunde Braimoh, the Lagos State House of Assembly has directed all lawmakers to go for COVID-19 test. The Assembly has also been closed for fumigation. Braimoh, who represented Kosofe Constituency, died last Friday after a brief illness and was buried at the Ikoyi Cemetery. He was said to be close to the late Senator representing Lagos East, Bayo Osinowo, who died on June 15 of suspected COVID-19. Hon Temitope Adewale, the lawmaker representing Ifako Ijaiye, in a statement on Tuesday, said he had gone for the test, adding his result returned negative. “As directed by the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Sunday, July 12, 2020, I went and submitted myself for the COVID-19 test, and I have gotten my result. The test result came out negative.” He added that,”to this end, it is our collective responsibility to be more careful and observe all the stipulated and given rules to help us prevent the transmission of this deadly virus.” Adewale urged residents to wash their hands regularly, use sanitisers, avoid social gatherings, and wear face masks. https://www.newsbreakers.ng/breaking-lagos-lawmakers-go-for-covid-19-tests-fumigate-assembly/Cc: Mynd44

Back to back trip on Uber is slavery jareh. I hate it badly. Once a rider tells me there is a stop over, I jejely let him/her know that wont work and look for an excuse. Beng1234: Today get as he be ooo. I carried a rider, for more than 2hours. Made plenty stops, waited at the boutique, went to kfc, back to the pick up point (a hotel). Trip ended 2k (e added 1k to it sha) . My morale just drop. Naso I park for the estate, off app, on AC, sleep better sleep, as I wake, I go house go continue my sleep. Either inward Yaba on 3rd mainland bridge or Adeniji descending 3rmb. Crvrider: Reminded me of what happened yesterday.
Picked up 3young ladies headed for idumota market from ipaja. Relied heavily on the map, so I took the exit at under bridge, turned at akowonjo round about, climbed the bridge and headed towards agege, through Ikeja, oworonshoki na so I face 3rd mainland bridge like no mans business.
On the bridge, the app was just rerouting. Na him I swallow spit like what the fk? Me when no no road for Lagos.
Last, last na apongbo I go see myself. Has anyone ever experienced this on 3rd mainland bridge?
And by the way, for those who know, where would I have exited from the bridge? |
Career › Re: A Police Officer Wants To Quit Over Poor Pay by davit: 11:28am On Jul 14, 2020 |
The way you wrote this alone shows that you re different from those 20 naira officers. I like your choice of words and the arrangement. If you can get a better job why not quit. It is obvious that that only the corrupt ones get promoted. Ralpdee123: Good morning Nlanders,
I have been considering quitting my police job to find something more productive & profitable to do with my life as a result of poor pay & lack of promotion.....
I was enlisted into the NPF since year 2009 at 21yrs, I was single then with big aspiration that someday I will move to the top echelon. While in the job, I struggled to send myself to school and bagged my first degree and through to masters level.
But one thing I have noticed is that there is no upward movement within the NPF unlike the other armed forces and some paramilitary agencies that have internal promotional policies of upgrading their personnel based on academic qualification and merit.
The first and only time this ever happened was five years ago when it was widely reported across all news platforms that the NPF was ready to promote graduates within the force to ASPs, exam was conducted, I passed and was selected to go to Abuja for final interview. It was a rough road for me as it was my first time at the FHQ, Abuja. But after like a week, the process was suspended indefinitely. That was the first time I heard the term MERIT LIST VS NATIONAL INTEREST LIST...the Senators and Reps etcs wanted to replace the list with their candidates and they disagree amongst themselves so the process was cancelled.
I must confess my family is getting larger now and the pay I get can't feed us not to talk of paying school fees. I had to double my hustle with side biz to meet up....
Even the Police academy now turn out graduates ASPs every year who are now superiors after just a few years. So what about us with requisite qualification and experience, don't we deserve to be promoted...?
It is on this note that I want to call it quit and move on...
So I need advice in this regard... Should I call it quit or still hold on a bit...cos I don tire......?
NB: For those of you that will be saying yenyenyen police likes twenty Naira.... I have never received bribe from anyone throughout my 11 years in the job. I am the kind of Police Officer that you would meet on duty and would love to be a police officer....
Please professionals in the house.... Flood my thread with your wealth of experience abeg....
.... Help me do the needed for a wider view.... |

Just as others have spoken, we should not allow greed in this line of biz. Nothing like rider asking you to loan small money, that it will be added to your fare. NO WAY! I bluntly tell them i gat no money. Always come out with your money. The thing wey greed go cause for some people.... Same with drivers going to areas that can spoil their car. All na greed! |

I think we should be able to address it properly if their office at Lekki opens. A driver I met yesterday said same thing. So lets wait till when the office opens. Im not too cool with Uber too especially their giving one 20 mins to pick up a trip of 5 mins or less. If you cancel, they hammer your head! In fact, i am afraid of going online these days cos of that. Na Indriver I dey take support. pope191: Easy Boss I know we can get on each other nerves, but let love always lead. I dont do this. But for someone like you, I will. YOU ARE AN IDIOT saying someone yarns dust. You definitely lack home training or you refused to be taught. Never come out to a public forum and abuse people. FYI, I have been on ehailing biz for a while but never used Uber. I have always been on Bolt and indriver until Bolt yanked me off after the lockdown. Here is for us all to share experience and help others. And thats exactly what im interested in. I registered with Uber this month. Check the attached screenshot. Once again, never come to an open forum like this to abuse others. It is wrong. ekehopp: Ogbeni no dey yarn dust. Checking your profile and past post, shows you've been into ride share business since well before lockdown in March. You are not a new driver.
