Guys see Wetin a guy did in my car this evening. He vomited inside and messed up everywhere. He apparently took too much of free drink and pepper soup at his friend's house. We were on uber trip. What do you suggest? Rider not ready to pay for cleaning. Uber indicated a receipt for such in their app. My car is smelling of alcohol and pepper soup that he vomitted.

He is even saying he didn't have money for the trip.

I have taken the car to car wash. Got receipt and sent details to Uber.

Appointed in 2013, Mr. de Azevedo has served notice that he will step down this August, a year before his term concludes.

Because the headship of the WTO is not geographically rotational, no region of the world can claim it is its turn to produce the organisation’s next D-G.

However, there’s a good a case for an African to be appointed this time around. In its 25-year history, no African has ever headed the WTO. Yet, “Africa represents a key bloc within the WTO. It accounts for nearly 27 percent of membership and 35 percent of members from developing countries,” argue Professors Mzukisi Qobo and Mills Soko of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.

In an article entitled Why one of three African candidates fits the bill as the new head of the WTO, Soko, a Professor of International Business & Strategy at Wits Business School, and Qobo, the Head of Wits School of Governance, strike a mighty blow for Dr. Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy: “In our view, of the three African contenders, none is better qualified than Okonjo-Iweala to lead the WTO in the next phase of its 25-year history, which is poised to be the most fractious and challenging.

“The WTO plays an important confidence-building role in the global economy, and the interests of poor countries will be best served in a stronger multilateral trading system that is responsive to their development concerns.

“The nature of the institution requires a leader with significant political heft and who commands the respect of all member countries, rich and poor…

“Okonjo-Iweala is suitably qualified to serve at the helm of the institution. She is a Harvard-educated political heavy-hitter with the skills and experience to cajole, knock heads together and break logjams. She is regarded as a consensus builder who enjoys the confidence of governments, business and multilateral institutions. As Nigeria’s finance minister, she successfully spearheaded the negotiation of an $18 billion debt write-off for the county with the Paris Club creditor nations.

“Her political acumen and extensive negotiating skills could contribute towards restoring the multilateral trade agenda. This has collapsed amid the Trump administration’s hostility towards multilateralism.

“With her origins from a neutral developing country, she could be the right candidate the embattled WTO needs to broker truce between the US and China and end their trade conflict, which has led to institutional collapse.

“Okonjo-Iweala also boasts a credible tract record of economic reform and political sway. Following a long stint as a senior executive at the World Bank, she twice served as Nigeria’s finance minister between 2003 and 2015. During this period, she took on vested interests and implemented far-reaching reforms. These included overhauling a corrupt fuel-subsidy scheme, cutting delays at the country’s ports, creating an oil fund to stabilise the economy, increasing transparency by publishing the government’s monthly finances, and introducing an electronic tax system that curbed illegal diversion of funds…

“Her global finance expertise, in particular, would serve the WTO well given the nexus between trade and finance in the world economy, accentuated by the current economic crisis. By not being a WTO insider, she would bring a much-needed fresh perspective to the institution.”

It is apposite to state that much of Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala’s assessment across the globe accords with the views of Soko and Qobo. Strikingly, Mr. Patrick Lumumba, the well-known Kenyan lawyer and former managing director of the Kenya Anti Corruption Commission, whose country has a candidate for the WTO job, has singled out Okonjo-Iweala as the most qualified to clinch it.

Again, Forbes, the global media company focusing on business, technology and entrepreneurship, is already quoting with approval Okonjo-Iweala’s view on a way to end the US and China trade conflict that Soko and Qobo mentioned. She has said that “demonstrable effort” by the WTO to address China’s industrial subsidies could prompt the US into a more favourable look at the organisation. It is thought in informed circles that the WTO’s future is tied to US-China relations.

Inside Nigeria, however, there is a twist. An Okonjo-Iweala spokesman has alleged that “powerful and well-connected forces” are sabotaging her chances by peddling lies and linking her with a secessionist tendency. In an article entitled Who Is Afraid of Okonjo-Iweala, Reuben Abati described the saboteurs as “sado-masochists” propelled by impulses that include sadism, the endless search for people to pull down, mental instability, the “Luciferian complex, mischief, ethnic, or religious reasons or plain wickedness.”

Characters of Dr. Abati’s categorisation invariably operate by stealth, a point that places them beneath contempt and wholly deserving of disregard and/or excoriation. However, there is a strident Nigerian voice openly opposed to Okonjo-Iweala landing the WTO job. He is Owei Lakemfa, a known journalist and trade unionist, who has written two articles in quick succession to sell his market, and thereby place himself squarely at an antipodal position with the national predilection on the subject.

It is logical to assume that an argument against Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy should systematically knock down those premises that are of the Soko-Qobo hue. Did Mr. Lakemfa do this?

His first piece, Swimming Against WTO and Okonjo-Iweala’s Candidacy, rails at the structural liabilities of the Bretton Woods institutions and the WTO vis-a-viz Africa and the rest of the Third World. The title of the second article, The Fruitlessness Of An Okonjo-Iweala Leadership Of WTO, indicates of its thematic thrust.

I was at circle mall ShopRite Jakande when a request came in. It was alady on corper uniform and her guy friend. Two respectable looking lovebirds. I drove across the spacious packing lot to their position. They were followed by an attendant of one of the restaurant where they just came out. As they entered the guy whispered to me to lend them N3k so they could settle the attendant. I had no problems to assist them, they look very responsible.

Anyways, the trip startd destination was Novare ShopRite sangotedo. Which sounds corky, from ShopRite to ShopRite, but none of my business. The two sat behind jisting away with no worries. They were secondary school mates getting together after a very long time. The guy stays up north while the lady was serving her father land in Lagos.

We stopped at VGC traffic light just before the light turned green, a man appeared from nowhere and stood in front of my car signalling us to stop. They guided me to pack at the side of the road and they were knocking on the windows for us to open. I looked at my Riders the girl was scared to hell, and guy was just normal, for me, I was confused, I thought they were robbers, but certainly not in the open because people have started gathering.

I rolled down my window, they were busy barking orders for us to open the doors, of which I told my Riders not to, I became confrontational.
"Who are you" I barked back,
"we are men of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC, Have you heard of the EFCC before?"
"Eh" was all I could utter.
"Good, is not you we after, driver. We are after your passenger, please step out of the vehicle and go and enter that car"

The ordered the young guy into another car and one of them joined us in the front seat, he ask me to drive and follow their own corolla. We drove towards Abraham Adesanya round about, turned and started heading back to Ajah. That was when I said no I can't continue with the journey, they rider should settle me and let me find my way. The guy with us called his colleagues and after the talked, the man asked me not to end the trip that the rider will surely pay me, that we are going to EFCC office at Ikoyi. That the guy has refused to cooperate so they're taking him in. I and the corper girl asked him what has the guy done wrong, the man said the guy is a member of a bigger syndicate of yahoo boys and they have complete info on him and a number of his contacts. He's not the only one, they're taking them one by one, he continued to say.

He began to ask the corper girl how she knew him. The girl claimed he was a secondary school mate, they just got together after about 9 years, so she can't really vouch for his activity. The man adviced her keep far away from him. And she was like why, why must she keep away, he is her friend etc me, I just kept driving. We passed VI, climbed the bridge connecting Ikoyi, got to Gerard road made U-turn, got to falomo under bridge round about turned right towards Awolowo rd, then the guy asked me to pack at the first bus stop. The guy was busy on call with his colleagues, after a while they came and took the corper girl leaving me and the EFCC guy in the front seat. We waited for another 10mins, they brought the yahoo guy back to join us in the car. The EFCC guy Infront asked me to drive forward, when we got to the first Traffic light on Awolowo rd he asked me to make a U-turn. We drove towards the falomo under bridge then parked at a busstop a distance to the famolo under bridge. We waited there for good 1 hour, no one spoke. The yahoo guy was at the back , looking behind me at him, he was like he was almost crying.

Then a call came in the EFCC guy asked me to drive forward towards the falomo under bridge round about, we stopped and waited Infront of the filling station by the right, police men on uniform will appear to arrest us for wrong packing because we were actually causing holdup at the back, the effcc guy will wave them away and ask me to park right there and ignore the horns and abuses from other drivers.

After a long wait they came back with the corper girl, as the girl got in, the guy in the front came down and they asked us to go. I drove us back towards Lekki to a new destination Osapa London estate. The corper girl was frightened and the yahoo guy was furious, calling and alerting his crew. Me I was like my money. While he was on call I overheard his crew member telling him that it was the Uber driver that set you up. Once he ended his call, na so this yahoo guy face me. That he had to settle those guys N200,000 cash, that they used the corper girl to go and withdraw the money which explains the waiting period at the busstop.

This yahoo guy insist that I mustn't drop them at his home. So they alighted along the street. I end trip N5100 +N3000=N8100, yahoo guy said he has no money. Those magu boys took it all and he began to promise that he will surely pay me. He asked that I promise not to harass his corper girlfriend since she was the one that requested me. I and the guy we still chat and talk, but about other things, he said he never hammer.

I simply told him to change his lifestyle. I wonder if he was hushpuppi crew.

He gave them the password to his phone, the one with it was searching through the phone while the second was asking questions. Rider is clean and well spoken, told them what he does and every necessary details about himself. He was with his laptop, he offered to turn it on for them if they are not satisfied with what he’s told them so far or seen on his phone.

When they saw that it was a bad market, nothing to use against him, they changed it to why didnt we stop when they flashed me and trying to run away from them, he told them he was rushing for a meeting, that we’ve been driving fast from Ikoyi.

One of them turned to me and said ‘why did you not stop for us’?
I replied him saying: I’m just doing my job.

He didn’t say anything. They requested to search the car, and the guy, they did their thing and when they didn’t see anything incriminating. They said we’d let you go because of your cooperation.

This experience almost gave me a heart attack, my heart was beating really fast when one of them stood in front of my car with handcuffs. Different thoughts ran through my mind, like what have I done wrong , I didn’t commit any traffic offense or is it now a crime to drive fast ?

Immediately I completed the trip, I went offline and proceeded to the nearest bar to drink chilled Guinness to calm my heart

Riders must indicate the exact address they are going.
No stop over on the app that is not indicated on the app.

Rider must be picked at the address put for pick up.

You can get in touch with all my recent riders please to clarify this.

I believe this is an error from your system. Kindly look into it speedily. I'm not a cheat and will never be one for whatever reason.

I'm only concerned about your number 2 and 3 reasons. I know on some occasions riders might ask to be taken to an address different from where they indicated on the app. I ve had reason to pick riders too from a different place indicated for pick up. But this I know Uber had sent them codes to be assured I pick up the right rider.

Tap d search icon on the right side of ur phone and input the destination you want, follow the procedures. It won't return as error if it work, just close the app and relunch it again, but if it returns as error, it means you can't set trip at that particular point in time.

So where do I go on the app to try it.?e

I don't think you have to qualify to do that, Uber is just not good with setting destination once its 5pm or you are in a busy area.

Las Las indriver will shake the table. Most people take them cos of the set price. A rider said even though I know the hold up will hold us me topping the fair makes it easy on both of us. I top with what I have you take cos it a set fair aggrement so it like a tip or bonus. I laugh tire. Las Las no no more than the usual hold up and yet she add 500 with smile. I smile too take am.
