Thank God for his mercies! |
.. as a leading debtor state. |
..our legislature continues to exhibit the highest level of hypocrisy. Do they know what a death penalty translates to? The USA whose democracy ours seems to be fashioned after is trying to expunge the death penalty, even for the most heinous of crimes. How do they punish 'sex offenders'? I dare say that there are some of these ''distinguished Nigerians'' who are also guilty of the same criminal act, only waiting on time and an emboldened victim to speak up. I'm in no way trying to condone rape but a long term sentence to a life imprisonment may be more apt. Are these legislators who are armed with stones, aware that their hollowed chambers, which they consider a sanctuary, metaphorically speaking, is made of glass? I believe that they need a rethink. |
Tunbolity:Thank you Sir, for the information. Noted. |
A laudable move by the Oyo state governor. In a country with It's political landscape dotted by opportunists and greedy people who are simply wolves in sheep's clothing, with a singular purpose to bleed further, an anaemic purse. I'm yet to recall any governor who has done this in recent times (if any one ever has), even among the so called progressives who promised change. At least it sets the yardstick for future Oyo governors and hopefully all other political office holders. Still hoping and praying that Nigeria will change for the better in my lifetime. Kudos to the governor!! |
