Why not just give the dead to the family and stop the unneccessary ranggling. A man like that would have loved a "no show" quiet burial, comprising of family and friends.
PoliticsRe: Northern Elders To Jonathan - You Have Declared War On Northern Nigeria by daylae(m): 10:43am On May 17, 2013
Well, the "elders" should talk to their deranged youths. The president tried adopting "the carrot approach",but to no avail. No groups should be allowed to hold us all to ransom.

Opoki: I don't know why i like this piece so much...
Even the grandpa of terrorism was killed by a small navy seal.
Obama said and i quote "As i stand before you as the president of the United State tonight, I am happy to tell you that Osama Bin Ladin who was responsible for the September 11th 2001 terrorist attack of the twin tower of the World Trade Center and some of our Embassies has been killed by a small US Navy Seal"
@Bolded: see how he made the world most wanted man look simple.
As per this news, its either yahoo source was wrong or the head of the operation is clueless... Gbam!
that was a covert operation, singling out osama as the primary target for it not to get messy. And don't forget it was carried out on pakistan's territory, which is technically ilegal. You don't expect a whole garrison to carry it out. But the approach here is like with the malian intervention, they are dealing with probably thousands of them. And the issue of reconnaissance must have been considered before launching the attacks. The military is no childs play anywhere in the world.

No time to waste again, dancing the issue around in the senate would have allowed bh to brace-up. I'll rather the constitution be breached. Just deal with those demons!

Must one wake up to a sad news everyday!? The ealier all northerners see boko haram as their enemy, the better for us in dealing decisively with them. But as long as the group continue to enjoy some sort of solidarity and pamparing, their devil-dealings will surely linger for too long. Probably a drone option on their camps is not a bad idea.
PoliticsRe: Is State Of Emergency The Best Option For Boko-Haram? by daylae(m): 10:43pm On May 14, 2013
The president spared the governors of those state to avoid any further discord over declaring a state of emergency. Nothern politicians feared a full operation of the state of emergency would render them useless. But those guys can't just be trusted.

honeric01: That's it.

No sentiments, no partiality.

If her testimony is believable to the presiding judge, she's going to have her freedom soonest, if not, 20 years at least.

But what can't be ignored is the fact that her life has been screwed up, the guilt of killing a human being is going to live with her forever whether rightly or wrongly.
yes, that burden is bigger than any verdict that might come out of the case. . .honestly, the girl needs help.

no he wasn't her friend, he was s friend to her friend, read the story again.

She said she didn't know the guy much, yet stayed in a dark house with him around 7pm in the night coming from a beer parlor.

They're both irresponsible children.
this is a potential court case,it is beyond moral stance now,or teenage frivolity. What she could have,or shouldn't have done it just by the way now. Unless for others to learn from this tragedy.
CrimeRe: Girl Stabs Her Classmate To Death For Attempted Rape by daylae(m): 12:49pm On May 13, 2013
Don indeed. . . The neihgbours also can help the girl in proving her case. Judging by the story, the deceased and his gang were deservely feared by neihgbours, atleast someone who could not help her in distress must have noticed her screams, and their struggles.

A sorry waste of life. Sad!
BusinessAtm Dispense Fake 1000 Note. by daylae(op): 8:05am On May 13, 2013
Written by Odidison Omankhanlen - Lagos Monday, 13 May 2013

THERE is a disturbing development in the banking industry as some banks’ Automated Teller Machines (ATMs)now dispense counterfeit currencies, particularly the N1000 notes, which is the highest denomination in the country.
A drama played out last week in Lagos when a customer who withdrew money from an old generation bank went to another bank few metres away to deposit part of the money in another bank, but was shocked when the cashier told him that some of the N1000 notes were fake. Efforts to explain the source of the money were rebuffed. The cashier and customers in that bank confirmedthat the development was not strange but was now becoming rampant.
Another victim who withdrew some amount of money from an ATM in Ibadan was stunned whenhe was told by a cashier in his office, in an attempt to make some deposit, that two of the onethousand naira notes were fake.
Efforts by Nigerian Tribune to get response from the affected banksproved abortive as they claimed ignorance.
Different opinions have been expressed on this disturbing situation. An ex-banker, Paul Ejodamen told Nigerian Tribune that, there is human factor in the whole arrangement, urging banksto put measures in place to stem the trend.
A head of corporate affairs in oneof the banks who pleaded anonymity, did not rule out the handiwork of people he described as ‘bad elements’ in thesystem.
According to him, there is need for the banks to take extra vigilance on those uploading money into the ATMs and double-check bundle of currency notes being put in the vaults by the Tellers.
A financial analyst and Chief Operating Officer, Twinsronk Consulting, Okechukwu Amadi, said ATM has revolutionised banking in Nigeria, calling on the industry regulator, Central Bank ofNigeria (CBN) to take bold step to stop the disturbing trend.
He warned that the act should notbe allowed to spread as it was capable of rubbishing the nation’sbanking system.
“I have it before but I thought it was all a rumour. One can understand the use of fake currency in public place certainly not in the bank. CBn and banks must put measures in place to stem it or else, people will lose faith in the ATM technology,” he said.
It is recalled that when the issue of counterfeiting was becoming rampant, CBN advised members ofthe public to always look out for in-built security features on the note before accepting it for any transaction. There are three major features which are easily identifiable with the original N1000 currency, silver lining which is difficult to tear, imprint of picture images on the water mark side of the note and imprintof N1000 figure on the golden spot of the note, he explained.
Analysts see this as a huge challenge as the apex bank is still contending with the issue of excess charges on customers.
Only recently, CBN said it had recovered N8.6 billion excess charges that banks charged customers in the first quarter of the year.
According to the Deputy Director, Consumer Protection Department of CBN, Mrs Umma A. Dutse, the amount also included what was recovered for customers who complained about conversion, frauds and others.
She said the department received and treated over 2,800 complaints from consumers against their banks at the end of the first quarter.
According to her, “we have also been able to recover more than N8.6 billion in favour of various customers. The figures that I havejust mentioned exclude complaints that have to do with Automated Teller Machines and electronic-related complaints, and also complaints from other financial institutions like microfinance institutions and primary mortgage institutions. They are just complaints against Deposit Money Banks.”
The department was created witha view to promoting consumer confidence in the banking industry.
Its roles also include advocacy, enlightenment, education and promotion of awareness among customers.
Christianity EtcRe: Will Lagos Ever Have A Christian Governor? by daylae(m): 6:36pm On May 12, 2013
Its all about lagos being in good hands. Should you get a christian as the next governor of lagos, you'll probably complain if he is not from your denomination. This mentality must change!
Christianity EtcRe: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by daylae(m): 11:09pm On May 11, 2013
There are various encounters of the supernatural, but only to those willing to delve into investigating spiritism, and other metaphisical empiricism and allusions. But you must know and understand that there is no such thing as an impartial observer of the supernatural, especially from a detached, scientific standpoint. To investigate it is to be part of it,just as surely as you cannot experiance life without belonging to a particular race. The supernatural world is no safe place, but a war zone! You don't go into it without taking a side.

It should be noted that, most people who are in-love dont usually surf the internet except for important reasons muchless social netwrks! Nd even if they do, its not alwys on a constant basis.

It has been confirmed that, most people who surf the internet are either single, heart-broken, lonely, flirts, spoilt brats, lazy or fraudsters! The president should declare a state of emergency in those states that happens to be their core havens so as to deal with them decisively. Terrorists from chad, mali, and niger are now running away from the heat in those places to catch some breeze here. Untill we make this place too hellish for them, they'll make nigeria there HQ.

But we should never relent on holding them accountable.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Concerning The Controversial "New" Rules Of Nairaland by daylae(m): 10:55am On May 09, 2013
Seun: I would like to correct some misconceptions.

Most moderators don't support rule 17. We had an extensive debate during which most of them opposed it but were not able to convince me that we could remove or generalize the rule without exposing the forum to a security risk or reducing your freedom of speech.

Also, I am not a muslim. I am not even pro-muslim. This rule was created to save Christian lives and not to benefit muslims.
Thanks for your concern. No danger. And rules are not made to pamper any segment of a society, whereby breaching the freedom of others, rather to maintain decorum which can only be acheived when the rules are observed in fairness to all.

Each nairalander is responsible for his own safety. Even with this measures, its totally out of your control.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Concerning The Controversial "New" Rules Of Nairaland by daylae(m):
@seun,if i were a muslim,i'll even see your reasons and claims as being offensive to islam, and not protecting it. You are not doing muslims a favour, rather, you are painting them black.
