saxywale: Guy leave that one. A cuz of mine was recruited into PWC Nigeria with a 2.2. These was at a time when you can only select a first or 2.1 only on their website (initial application). m not saying folks don't get in on merit, they do but there's always room for the "our own person"..
PwC is strictly on merit they also have a rule that a 2-2 with 6 distinction in WAEC can apply. That was in the early 2000 not sure if it still holds

Afam4eva: There was this firm where one of my acquaintance works. he said the company imported an expatriate from France to head a section of the company. The guy does not have a PHD, a masters or even a Bachelors. Even diploma, he doesn't have . What he has is a high school certificate and he's supposed to head Nigerians with different certificates. That's the story of Nigeria.
Way back in 2001 when we went for IT one of my friend who did his IT at AGIP-SAIPEM said one of their Oyinbo "expatriate" Gaetano who claimed to be an Engineer was actually a crackhead trained interior decorator from Milan but wasn't doing well in Business and his friend arranged for him to come to Africa and work.

Na him dey always harass all the Nigerian MSC UNIPORT FUTO, UNILAG etc engineers

coogar: but why this deception?
The same reason everyone on NL claims to be related to Dangote. Heck were you not there when some people said 900k na small money. How many %age of Nigerian workers earn that a year. But online everyone na Adenuga

£10,000 or $15,000
$15,000 What kind of business? Where do you plan to locate it? Is this just the running capital or everything you plan to spend? How much for rent? For utilities(light, phone, internet etc), How much for the raw material, staff costs, Bribe to everyone authorities, area boys, OPC security guards etc?

Unless the business is to sell Pure water, Recharge card and Viju milk in traffic cheesy grin

My friends younger brother went for NNPC interview in 2011 I think in Abuja when he came back to tell us the tales of what goes on there. You would be shocked

This guy prepared for the interview reading slides about the Oil industry when he got there the interviewers could barely speak English. Some were eating Kolanut at the interview.

One woman couldn't hide it that she wanted to go for Lunch and was complaining throughout how hungry she was.

Another one asked what state he was from and started gisting about his NYSC in that part of the country.

I spoke to him like last year and he said they haven't heard anything back from NNPC since

coogar: so getting caught, humiliated, jailed and deported is better than going voluntarily to nigeria? i cannot seem to work that out in my head.
If you consider the other option waiting you in naija you would rather stay back. My friend just went back to Naija to visit He said all his friends that were bragging to be enjoying in Naija when he got back na all of them dey confess say things are at breaking point and asking how dey can bail out even those with 2 kids already

i think the best thing is to go back with your own money and start a small micro-company. like i have been told, even if you land a job, the dishonesty and the criminal activities in most of the companies would not sit well with you. if you complain - you get sacked or killed!
Lemme ask you, How much do you think you would need in Nigeria to start the kind of company you have in mind?

Bros ye, like say you dey read my mind oh. Had a guy with undergrad from Georgia Tech, Masters from Princeton who went to test the waters and the employer told him at the interview that his undergraduate degree is worthless that why didn't he just go to Yaba tech. Ol boy, the guy paid KLM 250 bucks and rescheduled his flight bk to yankee straight
Imagine Georgia Tech na him dem dey yawa like dat.

Ask the interviewer to take SAT twice and add the scores together he still wont get into GATECH

Afam4eva: I wouldn't want to work for any firm that makes such a dumb statement. Big corporations know the ish schools. Even if it's Dartmouth or Cornell.
You see wetin I talk below? Probably he bagged the degree with over 7milla and person dey rubbish am

blackmann: I came to the USA to get a masters degree in my field(Computer Science) hoping that when I finally go back to naija, i will get a very good job somewhere. Imagine my dismay when after a whole year, I didn't get anything. Everyone was like come back today, come back tomorrow,, we are not employing, blah blah blah. Even at one place i had an interview, the guy saw my Degree certificate and my CV, and the first thing he asked me was - "Are u sure this your Masters is not an online degree?". I wanted to yank him by his stupid afro and tear out a few hairs. At the end of the day the stupid company told me if they are going to employ me, they cannot pay me more than 70k. i told them to take their job and shove it where the sun don't shine. After a while i just decided to pack myself and my newly wedded wife and head back here.

coogar: if your visa is not renewed in the country you studied, you will die there or remain illegal?
Both options are preferable than going back to naija to be humiliated.

I have several friends who went back immediately and have tales of woe. One guy last year July from University of Sheffield still doesnt have a job till today and while in UK was hustling and making ends meet in his little way (Working call center).

Now he is the chairman of "newspapers free readers association in his area where he is giving out knowledge" cheesy
PoliticsRe: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by dayokanu(m): 10:58pm On Mar 04, 2013
If you have a foreign degree its better you stay back in the country you got it and try to work with it

Coming to Nigeria after spending millions on your degree and Someone would look at your resume See

Duke university or Brown university and would ask "Shey na school be this one? We no dey h-employ ppl from Yeye school o". (Degree you got with over 7m Naira

The person interviewing you probably did long distance degree at Maiduguri Polytechnic

Afam4eva: Notification! Notification! Notification!

Any form of tribal language has been banned starting from now. Not that it was ever allowed. But from now on, every form of representation of any ethnic group will attract a severe ban. So it's bye bye to words like Yoruba, Y1bo, okoro, mgbati, aboki, awusa and the likes. To be fore warned is to be fore-armed. He who has ears let him hear.

Goodluck
Afam good initiate. Is "Yoruba" one of those words? I suppose it should be. So can you extend the severe ban to the poster below.

Thanks

Dede1: Illegitimate Olodo

It is unfortunate you have sworn not to learn. I have been around many market square in Yoruba land and never met a market square where traders, after the day’s activities, locked up the stalls and were expected to sweep and clean the market square. The Local Government Council staffs take care of sweeping and cleaning the market after a day’s activities.

Ngwakwe: The question is where and when have dayokanu or any
southwest radical nairalander (desola, eko ile etc) criticise
any yoruba politician. Unless when
you want to demonize opposition
party.
dayokanu: I am from Oyo State and I can see the difference from when Alao Akala was governor

As starters we dont have NURTW thugs killing everyone in the streets of Ibadan

Its malicious and false for anyone to claim that in Oyo state for example there has been no difference

Lets go to Osun How can anyone see the road constructions going on and still claim there is no difference? Was the previous PDP govt blind to see that they needed road in Osun instead of taking loans for 6 world class stadiums?

And the way it is in every SW state
The Alao Akala na Ibo ?

chiover: Red Pant, since then your bros just woke up now abi? Rember Achebe wants the same for Awolowo. Now explain
Yorubas have alwas been against OBJ thats why he cant even win his Local Govt. Thats why his daughter lost the Senatorial elections

Achebe wants the same for who? maybe Achebe should first submit himself for trial together with Ojuku for punishing Biafran children

Tell us in all the suffering why none of Achebes kids or family died, they were all looking rotund and well fed.

Unless they were eating the people.

Just like quoting that Igbo self hater who said no Igbo is clamouring for president of Igbo extraction.
Yorubas were the fiercest critics of Obasanjo regime even when people like you were quiet.

Gani, Falana, Soyinka and Tinubu were OBJ worst critics

Late in the first half, VDS had saved off Olics feet, a few minutes later, Olic brutally rappped Carrick and scored, Few minutes later Robben had a fierce drive saved by VDS. All those were in the first half.

Dont worry just try beat Madrid and hope to meet us. Its a reunification with our eternal biittches Manchester Uniteed

You should know the people that need others to survive, the ones who cant stay in their region and need to migrate en masse everytime to other regions.

If Naija disintegrate, And they send them back to their caves how would they survive without killing each other off?

coogar: nani's 2nd goal was in the 41st minute......until then, bayern hadn't ventured into the united half let alone dominate. so how did you come up with dominance for only 30 mins?

yet, you claim you are the european football expert!
At the time Nani scored Bayern was already gaining the upper hand. Van Der Saar just made a save and the dominance showed when olic rapped Carrick for the goal in the 44th mins. After then it was all Bayern.

Go and watch the game again, I have it recorded and can give you a minute by minute blow

For 4 halves that was played vs Bayern.

Man Utd were on the cosh for 3 halves. it was in the first 30mins at Old trafford that they were threatening after that Bayern basically coasted home to an easy victory

Man Utd na our boy anyday. Please beat Madrid so we can play you again.

Well Spurs has the more difficult schedule. But if I were Wenger I would just abandon the Munich trip and concentrate on the league.

What good would it do if Cazorla and Wilshere get knackered in Munich and still lose the game.

That means deadi body get accident
