Someone won the CL you are asking for League?

Like someone winning Nobel and you are asking if he won "City people awards"

You mean Robin Van persie had no Pedigree before joining Arsenal, Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky, Chamakh, Squilacci They all had no pedigree?

Chamakh just inspired Bordeaux to a league win in France, Squilacci an experienced defender, Rosicky A very good Czech player from mDortmund bought at 25yrs, Nasri the Frech sensation of that time often compared to Zidane, Arshavin who shook Europe with his exploits at Zenit and Russian NT?

Forgive my error but then again, the Inter team didn't come cheap too. Something we can't afford at Arsenal.

You need to read what I said before. I did not in anyway say there is no coach who can do better at Arsenal with same resources. I have only said that since I don't have a crystal ball to see the future and since AW is showing signs of changing his policy these days, I am willing to give him one more chance.

If you have followed my posts in seasons past, this is the first time in a long time I will be optimistic about summer signings. In the past I have always said AW won't sign as expected and he hasn't disappointed. But this season seems a bit different. I can only wait and see.
Whats different about this season?

Man Utd and Arsenal were trophyless last season

This season Man Utd bought Smalling, Bebe and chicharito. Arsenal bought Chamakh (An experienced striker, Squilacci An experienced Defender and Kolscieny)

As at 12 months ago who would you say has the better players? Yet Fergie won the League conveniently and lost in the CL finals while Wenger and his better buys ended up trophyless for the umpteenth time

I wonder what you would have said if it was SAF that bought Chamakh and co while Wenger bought bebe and co.

Luis Garcia from Barcelona at age 26 for £6M, Alonso(£10.7M at age 22 was Sociedad's captain before joining Liverpool), Kewell(£5M at age 25 after his heroics with the Leeds Utd team) (Smicer(£4.2M. Joined at 26 after inspiring Lens to the league title), Baros (£3.4M at 21 after winning CzechTalent of the year award in 2000) (Cisse (£14M) at 23 after scoring 70 goals in 128 games in the french league).

As you can see, the Liverpool team that won the champ's league cannot in anyway be compared to the current Arsenal team.
Yes the invincibles was a great team but sadly like I have said earlier, AW was too much in a haste to dismantle that team. If he had built on that team, we may have eventually won the Champ's league. We were only a few minutes away from winning it remember?
Really thats 44m total.

Can you add the amount spent on Arshavin = 15m, Walcott = 12m, Nasri = 12m,  Kolscieny = 10m. Those 4 are already more than you claim for Arsenal

Then add the market value of Fabregas, Van persie, Sagna, Clichy, Song. Thats the first 11 alone

NOW YOU CAN SEE THAT WENGER IS A FAILURE

Before AW joined Arsenal, we won some CUP trophies and United was king of England. If AW didn't win the EPL in his first two seasons it would not have been a disaster.
This time the case is different. He has set a standard for himself and whoever will come to take his place?

Of all the names you called, only Mour is worth mentioning. You have forgotten Porto DROPPED from the CL in a group that also had Arsenal? If Arsenal drops from the group stages of the CL under AW, it would be a disaster!

Deschamp's qualified his team for the CL and that's an achievement?

The Louis Van Gaal case is almost the same thing happening at Barca now. He benefitted from a well run youth system. Van der saar, Kluivert, Bergkamp, Seedorf, etc were all from that system and they had played together for years before eventually becoming the force that won the Champ's Lge. Maybe you don't know Van Gaal was at Ajax for 5 years before he won the CL with that team. Even he didn't overlook the effect of experienced players like AW has done. He had Danny Blind, Rijkaard and De Boer brothers in that team. How come he hasn't replicated the feat at any other club since then?
Based on the quality of players at Arsenes disposal, there is no excuse for him to be 6yrs trophyless.

You said Van gaal was 5yrs at Ajax before winning, How many years has Arsene spent at Arsenal?

Kluivert, Seedorf, Kanu and Edgar were like teenagers when they won

If van gaal can win the CL in 5yrs why cant Wenger win in 15yrs

He has Danny Blind, Rijkarrd etc Wenger has Arshavin, He had Gallas, He had Henry, He had Overmars, He had Vieira, He had Suker, Bergkamp, Kanu, Pires, Campbell, Why didnt he win the CL with them?

Even Mour with all the money he has spent at Chelsea and Madrid, why hasn't he won the CL since he left Porto?.
What did he win with Inter? Copa Libertadores or CAF Cup

Thing is, we may bring in a new coach and he may deliver better results but then again, he may fail woefully. If there's anything I don't want. its us replacing coaches like Chelsea/Liverpool have been doing. That's why I'm willing to give AW one more season and that's only because I see signs that he is slowly swallowing his pride
A coach is on his 6th trophyless season yet he should be given time to make it 7? SMH

The benefit of doubt stems from the fact that I don't see anyone out there who can work with our budget and deliver better results asides those already coaching one team or another and I am not prepared to go another period of 'transition'
Thats a very false statement

There are a million coaches out there. This Wenger you are talking about wasnt he recruited from the Japanese league? One would have thought you are talking about a Rinus Michel who has a track record of success not some mediocre coach

Which budget did Mourinho work with to win the CL in Porto,

What budget did Louis van Gaal work with to win the CL in Ajax,

I gave you the team roster that won the CL for Liverpool, What was the purchase cost of those players,

Which budget did Deschamps work with to get to the CL finals,

The current Porto coach is barely 33 and he has won a Continental trophy some Wenger CAN"T win

You are not prepared to go into another transition with a batter coach but would rather stay with a failed coach after 15yrs and 6yrs of trophylessness?

Haha clever lol.

Honestly. There's some speculatory rumors flying around that there is some personal stuff going on with his family and that is what has led to his distracted play on the court - similar to last yr vs the Celtics when his mom was involved in drama.
I was happy Wade came back on the court so that if ya'll won they won't be saying "its because Wade was out blah blah blah" and it takes away from the effort of the mavs team. Maybe Lebron is just feeling the pressure . . . being on the verge of a title, e no easy I'm sure.
Thats a huge lie and horrible attempt to cover up. He should shut up jare

Well I'm willing to give him benefit of doubt and asume his problem is his stubborness.
AW changed two policies last season. First he moved from using youth players in the CC and we almost won it. Next he brought in 'matured' players against his usual practice and in the case of Kos and Squill, it paid off when we lost Verm and Djorou (forget the quality of the two signings but in seasons past, we would prolly have moved Song to CB or brought in a youth player).

I believe that if the rumours we are hearing is true as per Samba and Gervinho, then maybe he is totally reborn and if that is the case, I am willing to give him one more season.
What does this benefit of doubt stem from? His antecedents doesnt inspire confidence either.

So you too know that the experienced players crap is not valid cos he has them he only cant coach them to win.

Even if he gets Gervinho, Hazard, Samba and Zidane he still wont win anything(League or CL)

sometimes a manager's intuition can determine outcome in
a game. it is hard to find examples of wenger doing this.

when a team squanders a 4-0 lead we need to ask questions of the manager sometimes that may be very bad luck but in the whole premiership this last season only arsenal were capable of that.

has arsene lost his mojo?
At what point in time did Arsene had this mojo to be called a great coach?

proudly9ja:
That's because SAF is not as stubborn as Arsene.

I think Arsene can deliver results + good football given the right set of players. His short coming is his stubborness. SAF knows when and where he is short and he does something about it. Arsene is usually too stubborn to admit he is wrong. For the past 4 -5 seasons, Arsenal has always been one or two players short of delivering the goods. Usually everyone sees this , except Arsene.

Look at how long he tormented us with Almunia and Denilson before finally realising that those two are not good enough for Arsenal?
Thats making excuses, What has stubborness go to do with lack of basic coaching skills and ability to read games

And what are your hypotheses based on? Do you think Arsene can win the CL in the next 15yrs?

I personally believe that at least 5-10 coaches with the same set of players at Arsenal would not have been 7yrs trophyless

Arsene is below average and those excuse about spending, young team, experienced players, bad luck etc are just an excuse to color his inadequacies

As a starting point almost all Arsenal players are Internationals for their countries so where does the experience/inexperience talk come from?

I have said it here over and over again. I respect AW and believe he is a great coach but his stubborness will destroy the work he has done. At that time, some of you were still shouting things will turn around. Now that things are not turning around, we are now shifting the blame to the players and the board. Who wants to be with a company that refuses to match his ambitions?
I disagree with the bold part.

Arsene is a below average coach and all evidence points to it.

SAF was able to win multiple trophies with Oshea, Brown, Silvestre etc Benitez won the CL with a starting 11 of Dudek, Finnan, Djimi Traore, Hyppia, Carragher, Smicer, Hamman, Kewell, Gerrad, Cisse, Baros, Biscan, Luis Garcia etc

whats Arsenes excuse, Only a failure like Wenger blames his tools

Abacha's rule was anti democracy cos he benefitted from an annulled mandate and all Progressives stayed out of it.

Awo would have been a member of NADECO and instructed anyone to reject any poisoned chalice from Abacha but Babatope joined in the looting and r@pe on democracy and peoples mandate.

Tinubus company provides a service to lagos State and he gets paid for it, If you have a problem with it, Face those who gave him the contracts.

Bola Ige wrote a constitution for a political Party and Uncle Bola left it when he saw that the wolves have descended on the party Something Awo would have done.

Do you know how Ayo Adebanjo is perceived in the SW now, Can he even win elections in his backyard? What happened to those AD men? Can anyone point to any AD rep or even councillor in the whole SW? Thats how much value they have right now.

HID is an Awolowo doesnt necesarily mean she share the ideologies of Awo the only thing she shared was his bed.

Was Abiola ever an Awoist? If Abiola were to be Alive he would have been a PDP member.

PDP is bad and anyone in SW PDP is bad, What good can come out of a party that has Thug Obanikoro, Assasin Omisore, Irresponsible Akala, Murderer OGD, Ex convict Bode tewonde George, Amala Politics Adedibu and Father of b@5tards OBJ

I can afford expensive things because I worked hard for them

I would give my kids the basics of life but never would they live on my level.

You mean if I buy a $10,000 watch I should buy them a $2,000 watch? Hell NO

I would make them know that all human beings are at the level of Walmart until you elevate yourself from there, I was in the level of Walmart before I elevated myself through hardwork not because my dad did it for me.

I can invest anything into their education and give them incentives to be succesful, Like Give you a xbox set if you made all A's in your school exams, $50,000 if you can make it to Harvard(Ivy league), Give you $300k if you can make a First class at Harvard

If I can afford it

Much as I dislike PDP, I disagree with Sam Omatseye in that article. He was too hard on Awo family including use of uncouth words like 'dynasty curse' and 'Awo would have divorced the woman' etc. Also, he makes it look as if the only way can be Awoist is to be a member of ACN or associate with Tinubu.
Awo is known to be fervent in the advancement of the Yoruba cause and you can be an Awoist by aligning with OBJ, Bode George, Omisore, OGD, Adedibu, Akala etc.

Omatseye was on point, Awo is not alive but we know what he cannot stand. Awo would have excommunicated Ebenezer babatope for the Abacha rendezvous, Awo would have reprimanded anyone who romanced with any of those PDP rogues

I agree with Omatseye on all counts even on his word usage
