After the Court ordered a rerun in 18 of the 31 LGs in Akwa Ibom State today, it's become clearer to Wike that his Seat is shaking. Olusegun Obasanjo Era: "Well Done Sir Bur Prosecute Them All"
Before the return of democracy in 1999, corruption was like a norm in Nigeria. It denied Nigerians social amenities and put the masses in abject poverty. The coming of EFCC and ICPC to try corruption, bribery and other economic crimes in 2003 brought a sigh of relief to Nigerians. Nigerians always celebrate whenever a BIG fish is arrested by former EFCC Chairman Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Among the top shots that fell to EFCC/ICPC hammer are exMinister Fabian Osuji, ex-Senate President Adolphus Wabara, ex-IGP Tafa Balogun, ex-Gov late Diepreye Alamesiegha, several senators etc. In addition, major top-shots like ex-VP Atiku Abubakar, ex-Chairman of NPA Olabode George(who as at that time was the PDP Deputy National Chairman, South), 33 state governors etc were indicted by the EFCC under the Obasanjo administration. Not even the excuse of Alhaji Garba Shehu, the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar's accusation that the old Ota farmer was getting back at Atiku and other 'perceived' enemies because of the failed third term bid could sail through. Neither did Nigerians take any sermon of political 'witch-hunt' as valid defence. We all wanted people to be brought to book.

Though Nigerians commended Obasanjo's fight, the accusation of selective prosecution was prominent in the socio-political space. Specifically, Obasanjo repeatedly shielded Olabode George from prosecution despite the indictment against him since 2003. The song on the lips of Nigerians was "well done sir but prosecute them all"

Umaru Yar'adua Era: "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all"
When Yar'adua took over office, he was expected to allow the EFCC prosecute the outgoing Vice President Atiku Abubakar and all corrupt governors that were indicted while in office having lost their immunity. Alas, Yar'adua introduced the 'plea bargain' that allows a man that steals billions to bargain and surrender a few millions in exchange. For instance, ex-Edo state Governor Lucky Nosakhare Igbenedion was indicted by Ribadu-led EFCC of looting $24million of Edo state fund, he was convicted by court under plea bargain and was asked to pay a meagre N3.5million. Yar'adua also appointed Michael Aandooaka, the defence counsel to James Ibori, George Akume etc as Attorney-General of the Federation. The administration moved to remove Mallam Nuhu Ribadu from his position as EFCC boss and whittled down the prosecution powers of EFCC, ICPC and CCB. Nigerians wailed and cried that corruption is being rewarded while anti-corruption punished. Yar'adua also nominated and appointed Senator Adamu Aliero, a former governor of Kebbi state and then serving senator as FCT minister. Aliero was earlier indicted by the EFCC for corruption.
Our call through out the administration was "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all"

Goodluck Jonathan Era: "Stop Institutionalising Corruption"
Although, credit to Jonathan that he was keen on separating the Yams from the Goats(according to his famous Goat and Yam theory). He signed the Freedom of Information bill into law, introduced policies that encourage transparency, but he failed to pursue cases against 'Goats' that ate 'yams' before and during his administration, especially his appointees. Those that were indicted in subsidy investigation and those that focused their attention on public resources were given freehand. For instance, Abdulrasheed Maina, was appointed as Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform was indicted by the Senate over allegation that he looted N193billion of pensioners money, yet it took consistent wailing from Nigerians before Jonathan bothered to remove him from office. He wasn't prosecuted. Similar case was that of Stella Oduah who was indicted for N260million car saga. Though we have to credit Jonathan's government for indicting Sule Lamido and Murtala Nyako. Under Jonathan, corruption technically became 'Institutionalised'. Nigerians cry became "stop institutionalising corruption"

Muhammadu Buhari Era: "Prosecute Your Own Thief, Leave Mine For Me"
Buhari was elected on the platform of change mantra. Apart from the usual "Sai Baba" crew, there are people that thumb-printed for Buhari and APC did so on the premise of fighting corruption. Just two days on taking office, Buhari government withdrew the ongoing corruption case against Timpre Sylva and now rewarded him with party ticket for Bayelsa election. Pa Audu Abubakar only recently promised to return the monies he stole when he was in government. The EFCC has deliberately refused to work on the petitions against ex-Govs Rotimi Amaechi, Raji Fashola etc. In fact, the infamous N78million for 'website' and N128million appropriated just for TWO boreholes by Raji Fashola is being treated with levity. We all know that CONTRACT INFLATION is a crime according to EFCC Act. In fact, one of the charges against Olabode George was contract inflation. Despite his glaring hypocrisy, the President must be credited for the ongoing prosecution of Senator Bukola Saraki and the invitation of some ex-governors by the EFCC. Unlike during the Obasanjo era when people celebrate when someone is arrested for financial crimes, this era people first check the name of who's arrested, his party and then decide whether or not to shout 'Sai Baba' or to cry 'witch hunt'. In fact, APC fans will justify rewarding their corrupt chieftains with federal appointments. Some PDP fans and Chieftains will cry dictatorship and witch-hunt when the axe falls on PDP Chieftains irrespective of the merit of the case. It is now a talk of "prosecute your own thief but leave mine alone".

It is shameful and unpatriotic that people no longer pay heed to the financial crimes of officials. They forget that there is no honor in trying to shield the same people that looted our common wealth from facing their crimes. It is more disappointing that the Buhari-led administration is leading the charge in this new trend of prosecute their thieves but reward our own.

So of the 16 years PDP ruled Amaechi was in power for 15 of those years. What are his achievements? Apart from looting Rivers to coma name one thing he as achieved? He owed 2012 corpers state Allawee, killed many pensioners, failed monorail project. For christsake Fashola built a bridge in the middle of the Lagoon. Amaechi with all the federal allocation could not complete a single rail track.

This is the main difference between northern and southern politicians, while northern politicians collapse their personal interest into a single group interest in order to acquire and retain power, southern politicians - especially the southeastern ones destroy their group interest on the alter of personal interest, vendetta, hatred and jealously. Amaechi is one of the most influential south south or Igbo politician today, he was the most influential governor in the last dispensation and he is one of the closest person to the president. Instead of Igbos and south south Igbos generally to leverage on this influence, they are desperate to destroy the most influential politician of Igbo extraction, just because he was instrumental to the defeat of their hero at the polls.
Even the Ijaws have move on and are positioning themselves in positions of influence in the new administration. Jonathan himself has been reaching out to political adversaries like OBJ to make peace. I won't even be surprised if Jonathan makes peace with Amaechi. One can understand Wike's grouse with Amaechi, but what is beyond comprehension is Igbos anger with him. It is ironic that the Igbos support and demonstrated for Saraki ( a yoruba -fulani man, but wants Amaechi skinned alive. Tomorrow the same people will come out and complain that Hausa fulanis are dominated the political space.

Even if Amaechi is confirmed, he might be antagonistic towards the interest of the Igbos because of the hatred shown by them, and if he is not confirmed, the ministerial slot might be given to an inconsequential politician.

In politics there is no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests.

BACKGROUND
The Eastern part of Nigeria is a made of
predominantly Christian population whose
way of life is different from their Northern
Counterpart that are predominantly
Muslims. These two groups of people existed
on their own without the other part for
thousands of years before the coming of the
white men. There were amalgamated in 1914
by the then Governor of the Colonized Niger
Area – Lord Frederick Luggard for the
purpose of convenience of governance of the
area. The amalgamation of the North and
the South of the Niger-Area came into force
and it was Flora Shaw that gave it the name
Nigeria, coined from the word – NIGER +
AREA.
After the flag independence of Nigeria in
1960, the crop of leaders that took over
from the colonial masters in their effort to
gain control of the Nation through undue
influence gradually planted the seed of
nepotism, hatred, and ethnic division among
the worst of all, corruption that has
continued to cripple Nigeria to date.
Over time, the notion that the Ibos were
domineering people gradually degenerated
into hatred that caused the massacre of the
Easterners in the North in an effort to curb
their presumed influence and abilities as
they were the most educated and versatile
of the people of Nigeria. The unending
massacre resulting from greed and nepotism
caused the then Governor of Eastern Nigeria
– Cornel Odumegwu Ojukwu to declare a
Republic of Biafra in 1967. The declaration
brought a civil war when the Nigeria
government under Gen.Yakubu Gowan tried
to force the Biafrans back into Nigeria, The
war lasted for 3years from 1967 to 1970
before the Biafrans surrendered as a result
of starvation ochestrated by against
Biafrans though total blocked of every rout
that food may be brought into Biafra land.
Over 1.5million children and women perished
as a result of using hunger as a weapon of
warfare for the first time in the world,
introduced by Pa Awolowo, the first Nigerian
Minister of finance and economy under a
military head of state.


MANY YEARS LATER
In order to appeal to the ego of the proud
Biafrans, the war was declared no victor
and no vanquished, but the actions that
followed proved otherwise. The Biafrans to
date lost all their property all over Nigeria,
even in their homelands and they were
subjected to undue treatment of receiving
20pound in exchange of any amount you
must have saved in the bank before the war.
It forced them to resign to fate and their
only way out became to join one trade or
the other and willing out their children as
servants. But over the years, they succeeded
and became the most popular businessmen in
Nigeria.


TODAY
As a result of the flight from Biafra land
occasioned by lack of work and conducive
livelihood on Biafra lands as a result of
government policies which include making it
impossible for Biafrans to run any company
that can employ up to 100 workers,
impossible to import their goods through
their closest seaport some 10kilometers to
them and instead have to import through
Lagos about 800kilomiters away and paying
through en-rout to the numerous Nigeria
uniformed officials back to their land.
These numerous ill treatment caused the rise
of some opposition to Nigeria from this area.
The first of its kind was from the Niger
Delta area by Ken Saro Wiwa and his
kinsmen from Ogoni, but they were all
hanged by the Nigerian government under
IBB, Then the Niger Delta boys went
militancy to protest the oil spillage that was
destroying their lands to date and the
government of late Yaradua got wise and
gave them amnesty. Other such groups are
THE MEND, MASSOB and presently IPOB that
is controlled by Nnamdi Kanu.
While the other groups seem to have come
only to get money from the federal
government, the IPOB has proved to be on a
more serious mission to secede from Nigeria.
Using Radio Broadcast and very advanced
technology to reach the world without control
from Nigeria, IPOB has managed to cause a
serious nightmare to the Nigerian
government.
Nigerian government seriously tried but
failed to block the signal of the radio
playing into Nigeria, mostly the Eastern part
of Nigeria, they resorted to the only method
associated with “Black People” force.
NNADI KANU Sets a trap, Nigeria falls
headlong into it.
“How could Nigerian Government be so
insensitive to fail to decode that Nnamdi
Kanu intentionally came down from United
Kingdom to be arrested and they played
into the trick? He is an educated man who
calculates all his moves. Nigeria will never
remain the same again after this arrest
because this arrest has given more publicity
to the Biafran cause than the Biafrans and
even their leader Nnamdi Kanu would have
dreamed. Now that Amnesty International
has talked about it, New York Times and all
the News Papers in Nigeria have carried it
from the arrest to the bail. I think that is
all Nnamdi Kanu needed to go to the next
level of the struggles.

2) have you wondered why the south have been exempted from BH attacks? Does it mean with the numbers of hausa's in the south (SW,SE,SS) they can't conveniently carry out an attack?

Ans: they can BUT THEY WON'T. Because attacking south would mean the disintegration of the entity called Nigeria and that would mean NO FUNDS for the sponsors of BH.

May God punish this Maduole people and the those that will die poor that will come here to defend this family that has subjected Nigerians to abject poverty. They claim she has cancer, so that should justify all the billions she took from us, yet she ran to UK before the new govt was sworn in. I don't see Nigeria attaining any meaningful development with the youth will have in this country, you see them defending those that are milking us dry, just because they are attributing tribalism/ethnicity to everything. Shame to those that keep calling Jonathan a hero despite all the glaring atrocities he committed.
