Family / Re: Time To Divorce My Wife? by dbanjj1629(m): 6:05pm On May 05, 2020
You just nailed it. God bless you.. Op reason am..

bukatyne:

You realize that the error is all yours for not choosing well.

For that, you are half way there.

You mentioned that you married in the Church: brother you know that except adultery and I will say abuse, you can't divorce your wife.

You have tried counseling, reporting her to family etc. etc. and it has not worked.

Now, I want you to try changing your reaction to her attitude. You have been married long enough to 'predict' her actions/inactions.

She forgot your birthday, fine. Celebrate yourself. Go out with the kids, go out with your friends etc.

She tries to keep malice, apologize and move on.

I know it is hard, it is abnormal even however you need to build a shield in your heart so that her attitude doesn't get to you anymore.

Don't beg or cajole her to 'change' or 'be better' or whatever: you are telling her that she has power over you.

Thank God finances are not a thing: treat your self, go on vacations, do the certifications or courses you wanted to. Channel your emotions into the things you have always wanted to do, pick up new hobbies, go to gym and workout youf frustrations etc.

And prayers work: if not for her to change, for you to be whole mentally and emotionally.

It is well.

Its all about Sacrifice. Like someone said "a happy wife, equals happy home". Buy hers first
.she needs it because of the baby. If you talk her into not buying hers, will mark the beginning of a new regime in your house. Wisdom is profitable bro. Peace.

This is commendable. Thank you for this prompt action. God bless you.
chimauga:
MY ORDEAL AT SOEKARNO-HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT JAKARTA, INDONESIA

There is this derisive impression about Nigerian passport holders in most of the International Airports in different parts of the world, especially in Indonesia. The Immigration officers molest, exploit and forcibly take huge amount of bribes from Nigerians and threaten deportation if one refuses to give in. This happens even when one has not committed any offence. They show no respect to one’s Status so far you are carrying Nigerian passport.

On the 17th June 2019, I was once again greeted with harassment by Indonesian Immigration officers. The ugly incidence spurred me to take up a fight against their intimidation of Nigerians. I know that what they are doing is a corrupt practice and we are their major victims. No matter how our country is, we do not deserve such discriminatory extortion.

So, on that day, I arrived Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Jakarta, Indonesia, in an Emirates Airline from Dubai (EK0356). On disembarking from the Aircraft, I was walking to the queue when an immigration officer halted me. He asked for my passport. As he saw a Nigerian passport, he took me to their office and handed my passport over to his colleague. I greeted the officer sitting down in the office. He ignored me. Three times I greeted so he could say what the problem was but he remained silent and kept deaf ears. So I stood waiting for him to break his silence. I was standing, waiting for what I do not know, for 30 minutes before he muttered any word. Finally, he asked of my hotel reservation, return ticket and my Visa receipt, which I presented all to him.

The next question was, "do you want to go into the country?"

I said "yes".

He replied, "Calculate the fare of a one-way ticket from Jakarta to Abuja and give it to me to permit you entry".

I pretended as if I didn't understand what he was saying. The next thing he did was to google the cost of a one-way ticket with his mobile phone and showed it to me that it was $1,200usd (N432,000). I kept silent, trying to make a sense out of his embarrassing demand. But he didn’t stop there. He threatened to deport me by making copies of my travel documents.

At this point, I remembered my sad experience on the 9th October 2018 on this same Airport for refusing to bribe an Immigration officer with $200usd which nearly lead to my deportation. On that fateful day, they had already handed me over to the security and airline staff, reconfirmed my return ticket, checked in my luggage for eventual deportation. Had it not been I was able to place a call to my visa sponsor who intervened immediately by calling the airport Immigration boss and pleaded on my behalf, I would have been deported for no reason and would have lost huge sum and time. To the glory of God, the deportation was reversed. Meanwhile, this is a country I have been traveling to for 12 years without any infraction of their laws in whatever way. I never overstayed my visit, never broke any law, never even accused of any offense. My only offense was carrying Nigerian passport.

With that bad experience, which I was not ready to have a repeat of, I decided to be soft to this one demanding I should bribe him with $1,200usd. He later came down to $500 (N180,000) after a prolonged pleading. I immediately gave him the money but copied his name and saved it in my phone.

On the 21st June 2019, I prepared petitions which I addressed to the following parastatals:
1. Kedutaan Besar Republik Federsi Nigeria (Ambassador, Embassy of Federal Republic of Nigeria)
2. Direktorat Jendral Imigrasi (Comptroller of Immigration)
3. Direktorat Saber Pungli (Anti-Financial Fraud)
4. Pengaddan Dugaan Pidana Korups (Anti-Corruption).

First, I visited the Nigerian Embassy, met with the Ambassador and handed over my petition to him. He summoned an emergency meeting with all the Embassy's senior staff. He appeared very impressive. He commended my courage and promised to follow it up.

I stepped out of the Embassy and moved to Indonesian Immigration headquarters. On my arrival at the Immigration, it was difficult to gain access to meet with the overall Boss, the Jendral (comptroller), but when I claimed to be a Nigerian diplomat, they let me in. They ran security checks on me, gave me a form to fill my purpose of visit. I filled "High Rate of Bribery and Corruption Scandal Going on at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta". This form must have caught the attention of the Immigration boss as he didn't hesitate to request for me.

I gave him my petition. He read but couldn't believe that such was going on in their Airport. I provided the name of the Staff, which I copied into my phone. He typed the name in an application in his Laptop and it displayed the photo image of the Immigration officer. I confirmed the picture was that of the man who collected bribe of $500usd from me. He thanked me for coming up with such information, which he said no one had ever brought to his desk. He made a promise that he would investigate the report and invite me for an update within 48 hours.

In less than 24 hours of my report, I was invited by the Immigration boss. Upon my arrival to his office, I was given a VIP treat. The Jendral, that is the Immigration boss, started with an apology on behalf of the entire Immigration and Indonesian government. He went further to tell me that the officer who extorted money from me accepted he did it, and implicated four other senior “intelligent” officers who were involved in the indecent act. He narrated that the five senior officers had been dismissed immediately, that their dismissal letter would be given to them at the end of our meeting.

A sealed envelope was handed over to me. Inside the envelope were an apology letter and a sum of $1,600usd. The Jendral did not know that the money enclosed in the envelope was above the amount they collected from me. He was so amazed when I told him the money was in excess of my money. He decided to confirm it himself and discovered that the corrupt officers at the Airport enclosed all the money they forcibly collected from Nigerians on board the Emirates Airline that conveyed me to Jakarta that day.

That was how I salvaged other Nigerians who arrived the Airport from that moment onwards. I was told Nigerian passport holders are now being attended to with full respect at the point of entry. The era of $500 to $1,000 bribe for nothing has been defeated.

Funny enough, the Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia, who I first reported this case to, did absolutely nothing about it. He once told the Consular General, Emabassy of Nigeria, Indonesia, to inform me that they were still trying to get an appointment with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Indonesia. Two months gone and they are still booking appointments. If I had waited for them, my money would have gone and our citizens visiting Indonesia for businesses would still be suffering intimidation and extortion. This is why nobody cared to report this crime to our Embassy because they all know that the report will be swept under the carpet.

In the photos are the petitions (with different addresses), Immigration form (Purpose of visit) and Immigration Letter of refund.

No Immediate Plan To Increase Petrol Pump Price – DPR
source: https://eyesoflagos.com/2019/05/22/no-immediate-plan-to-increase-petrol-pump-price-dpr/

Mr Antai Asuquo, the Operations Controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Warri Zonal Office, has said that the Federal Government had no plan to increase the pump price of petrol. Asuquo made this disclosure to newsmen on Tuesday on a sideline during the celebration of the “World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development” held simultaneously in all the DPR offices in the country. The annual event with the theme,” Exploring Nigeria’s Diversity and Rich Cultural Heritage” was organised by the DPR. The controller urged Nigerians to be focused and stop worrying about possible fuel hike that could lead to crisis in the supply chain, adding that ‘the product is available and the pump price remains N145 per litre’. “There is availability of petroleum products, the price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) remains the same and there is no immediate plan to change it. “We should not hoard the product for a particular period of time because keeping the product at home is dangerous. “Our lives and property are important, so we should value and manage our resources in a way that we do not cause harm to ourselves,” Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, he advised. Asuquo also urged Nigerians to key into the federal government’s policy on the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), noting that there was abundant cooking gas in the country. “The federal government is trying to enforce the availability of cooking gas all over the federation and people are encouraged to use it. “The LPG is the energy of the future, it is cleaner, most sustainable and we have abundant of it. “I encourage people to follow the government’s policies and we will be happy for it,” he said. On the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Asuquo said Nigeria remained an indivisible entity irrespective of our ethnic, religious and cultural differences. “Today is diversity day; the DPR sets aside diversity in culture, gender, religion, style, grade and people; it is all about the multi faceted nature of our people in DPR. “This is what makes DPR special, we are united in diversity. The differences we have in terms of culture, religion and ethnicity has not changed our focus in Nigeria as an entity. “This is a way of assuring our staff and stakeholders in the Department that Nigeria is a one united indivisible entity. “As diverse as we are, we remain one, the focus is to ensure that Nigeria continues to grow from strength to strength and remain united “In the oil and gas industry, we interface with all manner of people globally. “We are also trained to adapt and be able to deal with others irrespective of their culture and backgrounds,” he said.
No immediate plan? Hmm that means the plan is in the pipeline. Braze up Nigerian.

REALLY AM SAD FOR MEN WHO BECOME MUMU BECAUSE OF A LADY'S BOSSOM OR BEAUTY? because from your story she lacks character so you are dating her for something physical and not her content. SO WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU BRO?

Dont you know how to do your own stuff? YOU ARE A MAN.... you do not need women as much as they need you... MEN DO NOT HAVE MENOPAUSE... she is young and needs to enjoy her life waywardly and she can not know if you are a good guy or not.... NICE GUYS GET DUMPED.

SEE, upload a pics of you with another girl or Photoshop it ... maybe by a pool OR at the airport... then let it be on your facebook and whatsapp PROFILE and status.... THEN IF SHE DOES NOT COMPLAIN THEN YOU KNOW SHE HAS ANOTHER DUDE GIVING HER WHAT YOU ARE TOO FAR TO GIVE.

She is out of your league, you may not be a party type and she loves going out... SIT YOURSELF DOWN AND ASK WHY EXACTLY YOU ARE IN SUCH A RELATIONSHIP... most men dull themselves by expecting beauty to be character and am shocked that they come here acting shocked when their ladys' behave otherwise.

IKORODU is far and she has FREEDOM to do anything and lie to you. MAKE MONEY, I repeat MAKE MAD MONEY and her loyalty will appear like the rising sun.

RELATIONSHIP these days are simply BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS OF LOVE and MONEY.

In your next relationship TAKE YOUR BRAIN with you and not your HEART ONLY

*THIS IS A DANGEROUS TIME: A CRUCIAL MESSAGE TO MY FELLOW YOUTHS OF IDANRE*

Good evening my fellow brothers and sisters, the ebullient Youths of Idanre.

I have written to you in the past to salute your resilience and creativity in the face of daunting challenges. My impression of you all as industrious, dedicated and courageous people imbues me with great respect and admiration for you.

I am fully aware of the contours of the challenges we both face, the steep projections that oppose our dreams and ambition, and it is this shared knowledge and pain that helps me identify with you all as fellow comrades, and as my brothers and sisters.

Now, this is a dangerous time, and today, I have resolved to tell you something different.

I am specifically writing to you to say *WAKE UP!* Lets wake up from our disbelief. Lets wake up from our cocoons of economic and political apathy and resignation. Let's get up, pick ourselves up, and work. Yes it is a dangerous time. Let's work together for ourselves, for our future. Let's build together those dreams we have long had and still have of our community and nation at large.

There is an overlooked verse in the second stanza of our national anthem that says; *Help our youths the truth to know!* That line is apt because knowledge is power, ignorance is slavery. Today let me share with you a universal truth; Nobody will do anything for us but you. Nobody will gift us a new life and living if we idle away unwilling to lift a finger to influence the situations around us. This is why bad leaders thrive on feeding us handouts, to keep us in perennial servitude and away from the truth.

It is foolish to keep on dreaming and then wake up as old men and women whose time came and went past without event. It is also irresponsible of us to waste away the vigour of our youthfulness in unfruitful pursuits, while crying foul as armchair critics of unrepentant bad leaders. Are we truly not tired of waking up to the same stories and shedding tears over the same sorrow? Nigeria is in a comatose and if we are not careful, we will lose in this intensive care unit and there will be no country to call our own again. For as days roll into weeks, weeks into months, months into years, we are getting older, weaker and weary.

There is an urgent need for us to engender the spirit of belief in ourselves and commit ourselves to recreating the big picture, one in which we are not led as lambs to the slaughter but are ourselves shepherds of a new Nigerian society. To achieve anything written of here or dreamt of we must wake up and force a change through. The way to go is to take more than a passing interest in the politics of our immediate society and Nigeria generally. That interest must be expressed actively and sincerely.

We must be concerned about the workings of government and how we can make government more efficient through sound and robust engagement of our elected and appointed leaders. We need to show interest in political offices for the purpose of genuine service to our people.

Mind you, One would rightly expect that by now we should have over 100 youths within the ages of 25 and 40years struggling to contest the position of House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate, actively participating in the politics. But that is not the case because the current generation of politicians are not building young followers but rather empires and political dynasties where you and I will be paid slavish salaries not earned.

We must not allow the political class to monopolize our common destiny. Monopoly equals exploitation. No one ought to monopolize the people's common wealth, and political power. Competition on the other hand engenders competence, and this is why we have upon us a great responsibility to challenge the status quo and take charge ourselves. Let's tell ourselves the truth, and that is that nothing works all by itself without some form of efforts.

As we approach an elective year, I hope that our slumbering will end and a new era of political consciousness will pervade our engagement with the society. I hope that we will together till the soil, plant ourselves firmly and refuse to be dictated to at random by events and situations that *CAN BE* brought under control.

The future is ours for the taking, dear youths of our state. I am happy and excited to have you all along on this journey of rediscovery and service. One could not ask for better partners in progress. We stand at the threshold of opportunity and must now show the world and our nation the strength of our convictions and unity.

Never stop believing, never give up hope.

Stand up now, locate your position.

Do not forget, this is also an invitation to partnership. I will be contesting for the position of House of Assembly, Idanre Constituency and your support is crucial.
