There ar 2 reasons this mayb happening.
1. The fearful party (meaning that this also happen to some gals in relationship) is afraid of loosing you to another becos he has evaluate the relationship n considers you to b of more value to him than he is to you. Actually the questions that rings in his heart is "Y will this_____________ (beautifu, decent, quiet, rich, etc(that value he thinks u posses above him) girl wanna stay in this relationship with me forever. is it possible?

2. You also may hav been given him reason to doubt ur interest in the relationship.
