But it is a norm in Nigeria where parents use their children to help them stay in the shops or do some trade. However, per global standard, that is still seen as child labor.

Hawking after school is not child labour, but when it's done during school or there are evidences to prove that the child isn't going to school then it is be child labour.

My own was the funniest experience of my life.
I was traveling with my son who was 2 years as at the time.
Police arrested me and I prove beyond reasonable doubt that he was my son. Yes before I forget na man I be and this was in 2020.
I was charged for kidnapping and all plea fell on deaf ears. They delay me so much and I had to ask them to show me where they want to keep my son. So they can take me to the cell.
Outside the station I started hearing statements like just do something.
I told all of them that I will not settle anyone because of the child God gave me in my country.
Oya show me his place n show me my place. I called my wife n told her the police station n some names of people involved.
They said na accomplice I dey call despite showing my id cards.
So a kidnapper will be going about illegal job with id cards.
Omo they released me eventually.
