The miracle thing is still touching me. I can do the preaching....but giving amputees and sick people false hope with false miracle? That is wickedness.
Wickedness?? grin People are living on that hope alone. To take away that hope from them is like taking away their life.

After reading a fantasy book to someone, how many will come back to listen to it a second time when you're not demonstrating how those events occurred?
That's it bro, you have to demonstrate to gather your audience..that's how it works.

Yeah something like that. And also won't like you to think on your own. Only theirs matters.

Thanks for the advice.

Can you explain why your babe thinks that you have a calling from God
I would love to, but It's a long story that happened gradually. One thing led to another..the conversion trial and the rest. I can't elaborate over here by just texting cause am not that good at writing long texts. I pointed it out to show that I was able to reach some neutrality in the r/ship.

The thing is, she knows my view pertaining God and she likened it to why there're numerous churches with different doctrines. But someone who is too religious and feels unsafe in the world will always put God in the picture. She told me sincerely to open a church and teach people the right way to God--that's my calling grin cool

Thanks for the advice.

I am ready to settle down. The problem was that I was the only one compromising in the relationship.

I watched all the silly romance movies and telemundo nonsense. I babysat her nieces. I even try to cook. I even watched Indian film at the cinema because of her cry.....bollywood 3hrs movie.

But to even sit and watch me play games with my bros? Na lie! To watch any action film? Impossible. To go out clubbing or house partying? Hardly!

The only thing we have in common is that we like SeX and we both have good families.

What I'm complaining about is that a lot of nigerian girls think maga-ing guys is love. I have never asked my fiancee to cook for me or do anything by force but she always has her way.

After dumping the babe, she now tells me that she loves me.

Guy, the average uk babe already understands that love is compromise. Many are even ready to visit nigeria if they like you.

Like my Asian ex.....We did a lot f things together. I started liking museums because of her. Salsa dancing because of her. She hated cartoons and anime but she always bought me naruto manga comics.

Bros, I tire. You will soon see me in the UK. Nigeria wahala too much

You need at least 100k to start a decent small church.

Microphones
Speakers
Small generator
Plastic chairs.
Pako/glass pulpit

As for Reyginus's friend, we would do p#nis enlargement miracles for him.
100k shocked...Menn am doomed embarassed Okay you said decent..I still have hope. For me, na to start micro small. Go to someone's abandoned land. Clear land. Turn to Jesus the carpenter and erect a strong batcher..cover am with waterproof.. Construct some long wooden bench for a start. Invite people to the miracle center and instruct one brother to buy a microphone and speaker according to the Lord's directive and we'll rise from there cool

If the small capital is there men then everything is set.

How many of you guys have given up on love in Nigeria?

I broke up with the girl that I was engaged with. She claimed that I was emotionless and angry. What she didnt understand was that I was getting tired of her.

She is very beautiful but religious. And also very Nigerian. I pretended so much to accommodate her but I just gave up after some time. She is the typical naija babe that expects her man to be an action man. She is not poor but expects me to pay for everything. I don't complain. I pay. I must be the one to drive (she can drive and she has her own car).

What even pains me is that silly thinking that a man must be able to read signs from a woman. Do I look like a decoder that decodes sign language? How can I read your mind?

The funniest one is that she hates videogames but I must watch her imbecilic romantic movies with her. So selfish....I should bend for her but she cant bend for me.

A lot of Nigerian women do not understand that love is sacrifice and compromise. The good ones are few.

After meeting one fine babe like this that shared the same interest with me. I knew that my fiancee was not to be. Do you know that feeling when someone understands you?

This new babe is a catholic but she is just perfect- not too religious, is open to try new things and is always interested in sharing or doing things together.

After meeting the new babe....this my fiancee became a burden. I couldnt even bother to smile around her. anytime I see her, I just lose hope. She started noticing and after some time, I had to tell her the painful truth.

The worst thing about all this? The new babe has a douchebag boyfriend.

So I am alone once again. I had to go through many naija babes to find this new babe that understands me but she has a boyfriend.

Nna....e be like say I go marry oyinbo last last. #teamWhiteGirls anyone? smiley

I get you bro..nothing is ever easy sad I concur with Nihilist, that's the best way to work out a relationship that can work anyway and not one that is obvious from the initial to plummet in an early grave.

Even if you go for a white girl, there will always be some contradictions in one thing or another. I doubt you can meet a girl that will share every of your dammn perspective. So I believe the keyword is to adapt, adjust and then reshape the relationship to a neutral level where every opinion count. It's hard but once again, nothing is ever easy.

I will just end by telling you that while most people around me sees me as an atheist, my too religious girlfriend (love her for numerous reasons), thinks that I have a calling from God smiley

I am ready to quit my job to start a church.....I just need some investors.

Yes, I am an atheist but I need the money. Church is all about the money.

Now, you might be thinking....wait, isn't this Jackbizzle guy an atheist? Well, yes. But Many of your pastors and priests are atheists- they lost faith in religion and they only see it as a money making scheme.

I'm already used to pretending to be a christian! I go to church to please friends and family. I even make prayers at large occasions. I am also good at giving convincing speeches.

Although sha, I don't have patience or the heartlessness to stage fake miracles. That one is off the books.

So, please, let's start sowing seeds.

The bidding sowing starts at N1,000,000 per person minimum.

Please, God loves a cheerful giver cheesy

Hehehe..Like seriously grin It's not even a joke. I've contemplated on that idea for sometime now. Church na where it happens..even if it's botch-constructed with some wood and covered with some waterproof material like tarpaulin, trust me money will be moving.

The pastorpreneur will be like..Always pay your tithe and give your offerings because they are for God who gave them to you. You will pray and fast for days and at last cheerfully give a sizeable amount from your sufferings--sorry God's blessings. The pastor will cheerfully accept of course for is it not written: A labourer deserves his wages .

Problem now is capital to start..I pass my neighbour generator alone is around N18,000, not to talk of other essentials like white hankie grin etc. Everything don cost cry
Bro, if you can afford the necessary materials for the ministry to start---wood, nylon and co., please call upon me to be the senior pastor, I can preach welu well cool... [Have my C.V]

Like Johnny pointed out miracle na mustooo, except if you want to be riding bicycle throughout your life in the ministry while others are busy thinking about purchasing a rocket.
You have to be talented in both preaching and performing/staging good tricks (miracles) for the church business to sell. If you're lacking in both or either one, then you have to hire someone who does.

Just because of that, folks are running away from my mother church (catholic) to where e dey happen.
Once you can stage and perform good convincing miracles, you don't need to worry about members. Money will start flowing.
Reyginus himself will sow a good seed for you to heal his friend's long lost joystick.

Lol. Thought I gonna see some new and healthy line of thought. I said eeehen! at last, someone has done his homework... I joyfully requested for the link, only to...chaiii the disappointment knew no bounds. He just regurgitated the same old lines without good logical facts to back it up angry

Since the disappointment had already set in, I just relaxed to see whether some comments will make me happy (cause that's my main purpose with the religious section), some actually did cheesy The most daft comment, that's apart from some uncouth ones anyway, was that of the first commenter, who kind of added the sixth proof: "My life is a proof that God exists" I wonder whether the life of a virus is equally a proof that God exists..If you ask him this question following his line of reasoning, what you will hear is.." errrm no. God doesn't create diseases, only the evil one, Lucifer and his agents, sons of lucifer does that" undecided

My thoughts are

-If there actually are intelligent extra-terrestrials more advanced than us then they probably are ignoring us as we most likely are ignoring ants who we see less intelligent than us.

we can't teach ants physics as they won't understand so it's of no use. so myabe these being likely do see us as per their intellect the way we see ants in intellect.

- Technological intelligence is rare in the universe even at that considering the number of planets it could still amount to millions if not trillions if live evolved on other planets.

But may like us they are all young species still trying to figure out left from right and have not developed enough tech to explore deep space.

the possibilities are endless

Whats your take on it, and what's this solution according to the article?
Nice. I like your opinion. As for me, until SETI is able to give us satisfactorily concluding facts that we're alone or not, I won't hold to a particular view. Why??

These are some of the solutions I found to the paradox.. N.B These are just answers to the paradox..they are by no means concluding facts as to why we're alone.

1. The Zoo Hypothesis

ETI’s may have stumbled upon our tiny blue marble a long time ago, but, for whatever reason, they’re observing us from afar. It might be that we’re entertainment for them (like watching monkeys in the zoo), or that they’re studying us for scientific purposes. Regardless they (super-intelligent alien life) may answer to a Prime Directive: don’t interfere.. just like the Prime Directive in Star Trek part 2 Into the Darkness in which civilizations are left alone until they attain a certain technology capacity.

2. Radio Silence
That aliens are broadcasting, but we don’t know how to listen.
This is one of the things SETI is counting on for success.
Aliens might not be broadcasting with radio waves, or they might be broadcasting on different frequencies than the ones SETI is currently monitoring. Or they may be using technologies way beyond what we have in their broadcast.

3. The Simulation Hypothesis
That we haven’t been visited by anyone because we’re living inside a computer simulation (Just like in the movie Matrix) — and the simulation isn’t generating any extraterrestrial companions for us.

There's no shortage of solutions to the Fermi Paradox. Some too plausible and some too weird. Others:

Rare Earth Hypothesis -- the suggestion that life is exceptionally rare. Is earth really special? Meanwhile, there're other exoplanets like our earth.

The notion that space travel is too difficult or the distance too vast

The Great Filter Hypothesis --the idea that all sufficiently advanced civilizations destroy themselves before going intergalactic, or that we’re simply not interesting enough.

Aliens Haven't Had Enough Time to Reach Earth -- This one is too weak because actually they have. Fermi's paradox is driven by three rather powerful premises: 1) our galaxy has been around for a very, very long time — about 13.2 billion years (or 13,200 million years), 2) intelligent life was capable of emerging when the galaxy was still very young, and thus, 3) aliens have had plenty of time to visit, colonize, and reshape every portion of the Milky Way. Yet it doesn't appear that any civilization has done so.

The list goes on..and of course..
God Created the Universe Just For Us --This is the one Kingebukasblog will accept, just like Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas, who both argued that humans are unique to God's plan. Erm but "the universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space undecided." Indeed, if God created the Universe just for us, why such elaborate digs? Why would there be trillions upon trillions of stars in the cosmos and not just one? What's more, why create such a seemingly biophilic Universe, one that appears to be cosmologically consistent throughout?

Now since there's no satisfactory theory about the "Great Silence", if I hold to any of the opinions alone, it means that I've accepted that we're truly alone and will remain alone because of those reasons.

Well, we as humans keep seeking for perfection but have never found it. I think that is perfection in itself. On a flip side, perfection can never exist because it will always be improved upon. What might seem perfect today will eventually become archaic tomorrow.

You are wrong by claiming that something that is perfect has a flaw .

KingEbukasBlog:
When I throw a dart and it hits the bull's eye , isn't it called a perfect shot ? Does it need to hit other areas of the dartboard before perfection would be attained ? And a 100 percent score in a test is a perfect score . Straight A1s can be described as a perfect result .

Anyway we are saying the same thing , imperfection can be moulded to perfection . But that does not mean there is no perfect state of anything . E.g The bull's eye of a dartboard when hit can be described as a perfect shot , straight As , 100 percent test score

In fact most desirable results can be described as perfect - the taste of food after cooking , old wine , the beauty of art

Desirable states can be described as perfect - a healthy body , if something goes according to the plan . How was the wedding ? It was perfect

Anything suitable under a particular circumstance can be described as perfect - silence to a foolish talk can be described as a perfect response/reaction

Anything perfect can be described through perception - I may see something as perfect , and you may see something as faulty , Good sex after a hot shower can be described as a perfect way couples should bond during cold nights , I can say disagree by insisting couples should read a book or go through their photo albums as a perfect way to bond during cold nights .

So young man learn to see things in different perspectives .
Seriously speaking I don't know how to explain this paradox because it requires deep thinking. We need to zoom out of the box to get this.

I want you to think deep on these..

If our bodies don’t self-heal and our cells don’t self-improve, we die. But if our minds constantly strive to improve, we are never satisfied, and we are always struggling to be good enough… then we suffer.

If I am in perfect health, then why will I die? If my mood is often less-than-perfect, why does my wife still love me?
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 11:21pm On May 06, 2016
JackBizzle:
The japanese have a concept called Kaizen. It means continuous improvement. You try to improve yourself everyday. A perfect person would fail at such a philosophy

A perfect person would remain stagnant while someone who is imperfect has room to improve. There is always better.
Exactly, and that's the paradox. The Greek philosopher Empedocles pointed out that if the world were perfect, it could not improve and so would lack "true perfection,"
