I need your help, guys.
I made the below statement in bold;
"Perfection is a paradox. Perfection means "no flaws" but then again, perfection itself can be a flaw." ================================================================= Now, the problem is that we have 2 theists who say that I'm talking nonsense. Please do you guys see reason in the bold comment and is it relatable to the problems with God's omnipotence? Hmmm LB I think you should stop all these type of statements/questions cause clearly not everybody understand them. But since you wanna know whether you're right..yes you are! The greatest perfection is imperfection This may sound gibberish..but it's not. It takes a quite lot of reasoning to actually understand that. You cannot have perfection..without imperfection. A question may arise why? I don't know how best to answer this but let me try and relate it with our understanding... one of the most impressive qualities of any object or person or a company is its ability to improve. That means it is difficult to say that anything is perfect, unless it can also get better in the future. So how then could it be perfect if it's missing that vital attribute? So if it is perfect, it must also therefore be imperfect at the same time. Hope am understood |

Richirich713: Get urself a book on philosopher, look at possible world's, cuz asking " So God can only do logical things like killing the Amorites and co through the help of the Israelites and can't do illogical things like raining food=manna from the atmosphere" shows u ain't got a clue what is meant by logically possible or logically impossible. Teacher teach me nonsense |

Richirich713: Nah what's pathetic here is trying to change the topic to the Canaanites.
Omnipotence means almighty in power not God can do illogical things. I said quite clearly already God can only do what's logically coherent. Maybe it's more correct to say we can only understand God thru logic. Changing the topic to the Canaanites? Devious evasion again Meeen this is the last I gonna try. So God can only do logical things like killing the Amorites and co through the help of the Israelites and can't do illogical things like raining food=manna from the atmosphere Is the above through? NB: I've changed Canaanites to something else Pls don't say I've changed the topic again to Amorites because that will be... |

Richirich713: Rather he got tired of dealing with illogical questions getting repeated. He got tired?? Nah we got tired and moved to other meaningful discussions. God can't create a square with 3 sides, it's not possible since a square by definition only has 4 sides. This isn't the question. How can that even be a question?? I told you to find out what something with 3 sides is called Yeah moving the goal post now right? Trying to change the topic right?
Do you actually know the topic before you delve in to answer? Is that the answer to my question based on what you said? Your answer is pathetic If you can't really answer the question then let's end this now its already sore. The only conclusion I can draft from what you're saying is that God can't do all things....erm but he claims he can do the all things (omnipotent) |

Richirich713: Asking "Can God created a stone so heavy that even he can't move " is logically incoherent. U can't put God's omnipotence against himself
God cannot do the logical impossible dear aka nonsensical logical absurdities. Am surprised that this argument is still going on here I just noticed that Kingebuka skipped this before he stopped talking, and you're following in his line again. God can't do illogical things, only logical things You're only using illogical for things you believe impossible..and your square analogy like others are just absurdities..How can you still call something with 3 sides a square? Find a name for it. There's how I like answering some questions and this is what I told Kingebuka about that bolded above. So God can only do logical things like killing the cannanites and co through the help of the Israelites and can't do illogical things like raining food=manna from the atmosphere Is the above through? |

JackBizzle: Sharap!
Batman Superman was rubbish. The previous 3 Batman movies were masterpieces (The Dark Knight)! Superman movies usually suck. Is it batman vs superman your saying is rubbish or batman movies and the 3 superman movies? U said it yourself the 3 batman movies were masterpieces The original superman movie was cool too.. |

Rilwayne001: The answer in right there in the thread, doesn't matter if you choose to ignore it.. Please can you reiterate it here because apart from some muslim women answering off key and some Christians using the medium to badly criticise moslems, the only answer I found intelligible to the question is backfire's reply: Blackfire hadith... v1. The Muslim girls ladies will be transformed to virgins, and when the mujahadins will appear in al jana after killing kaffris(Christians and Jews) they the virgins will be given to them verse 2: then aisha ask apostle of Allah what shall be the reward me and other Muslim woman? Verse 3: mohamed answer her , on that day the Muslim woman will be turned to a virgin with wide eyes, and they shall have se-x with the men day and night. Verse 4: and beside them will be a flowing stream of drink(alcohol) which Allah have provided for them, for it is he that knows best. Verse 5: and the women will be given strength to have sex till eternity and they will not be tired, weak or slack below. Is that the right answer |

Lilbrown007: MEN ARE PROMISED 72 VIRGINS NOW LOOK IT FROM THE VIRGIN FEMALES SIDE OF VIEW AND U WILL GET THE ANSA So 72 Male virgins then..almost in line with what black fire said |

JackBizzle: When heaven is described in Islam, it is mostly addressed to the men-
-houri (female beings) that are beautiful -Rivers of wine -Sex
Although, I remember a muslim scholar saying that there are certain deeds women can do to get rewards in heaven. This is as far as I know.
cc Rilwayne001 Okay so no special reward for the women I would have shouted partiality but you said "This is as far as I know" |

SirWere: I created on thread on that. It's titled "where am I" So you want me to go to your thread and see the answer? Chai see Nigerian strategy Well am teleporting there now chaa. ***** Okay I have seen your other reply. It's funny though..Which one will actually be right?? I think am a brain! But wait A brain is not actually complete without other parts..I think I have a brain |

Reyginus: We are now on lions and humans? But then can we excise the brain of the lion from the body and still notice some thinking? How exactly does such an experience forming the thought come by? I doubt this is possible. I still maintain that I have a brain. Can a brain place in a jar of water think? I believe where SirWere is driving at is this: If you Rey and me undergo a brain transplant, will who you're are become me and vice versa? Will you move with your brain? If yes then you're a brain. |

johnydon22: Gim gim sound can only be thought off in the same sense as sound not an image..
Like i said above: thoughts are not limited to images, you can think with words and no images.
So the conclusion: A blind man can think but can never imagine up images therefore he might dream but the dream might only be sounds and feelings and not actually images? There're many types of imagery..you haven't heard of auditory imagery? And yes we can conclude like you stated above..A blind man can dream and imagine but not like you that have an extra sense |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:51pm On May 05, 2016 |
johnydon22: So you think if a man blind from birth opens his eyes now and you bring Red, Yellow and Blue and ask him 'Have you imagined them before? he will say 'yes'? No no no. He can't. I really laughed at your post in Hardmirror's thread about that miraculous pastor healing a blind and showing him his handkerchief and the blind man got the colour What am saying is that it's not only sight that gives imagery but the whole sense. Just like you imagining the gįm gįm sound I wrote but never actually seen it |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:41pm On May 05, 2016 |
johnydon22: It gets complicated. . . You might remember/imagibe how something smells or feels or feel the contours but how can you imagine an image of it without seeing it since the onset of your being.
Do you think a blind person who has never seen blue, can automatically recognize blue immediately he opens his eyes for the first time?
and be like "Ehee that's the colour blue" Hehehe of course no no no. Remember the naming of things is just what we use to describe them for our understanding. When I say gįm gįm (a sound) you haven't seen it but you will imagine what's it's like..just like reading a novel and come across some description you haven't heard, you must imagine something which may be actually wrong but you must imagine. Do you know that sound produces colour? I believe that a blind will imagine a colour to his own taste after describing to him about the colour. |

SirWere: The flying sphagetti Monster? The laws of Nature? God? Take your pick, I care less..
And yes, I accept evolution. And you think this timer occurs like you think in that my analogy which Johnny explained further? Does cells continue metabolism at the same rate when completely frozen and when not frozen? |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:24pm On May 05, 2016 |
johnydon22: Now going from the direction of the discussion SirWere is about to pull with Reyginus a thought occurred to me.
Our dreams are from the imagery of the neurological systems, our imaginations are directly as a result of the neurological imaging firings, the images we can form in our minds or dreams are all emanating from previous experiences of that even when you don't remember.
The only reason you can imagine an aeroplane or dream of one as we have today is because you have seen one, if you never have and was asked to imagine one you imagination will be too far from aeroplanes we have.
So now the problem is.
Do blind people dream or can they ever imagine? Wow i like your idea but the answer is simple..yes. Imagery doesn't come from sight only. It comes from all the 5 senses of the body. |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:19pm On May 05, 2016 |
SirWere: Hmm, sorry to kill you here bro, but your cells set time can't just be "reset". You see, your body cells was not just put on a "timer" the day you were born, the circadian rthymn of your body has been preset thousands of years ago; as animal life slowly adapted to life on EARTH.
What I'm saying is that : the "timer", so to speak, have been "set" hundreds of thousands of years ago; before you were even born. Who set the timer? What's your take on evolution and mutation? |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:11pm On May 05, 2016 |
johnydon22: Not really, what he is trying to explain is much more bigger than what you might be thinking.
Gravitational dilation, the more the gravity the slower the time which makes it seem that near a blackhole (immense gravity) time slows down so much that it is nearly stopped.
If you spend 1hour in a blackhole or too near one, when you come back to earth you will see that most of your children are already grand parents.
But to you, you only spent 1hr and will still look same. . . That's it..thanks Johnny |
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Nigerian Secular Philosophy! by dblackninja: 1:08pm On May 05, 2016 |
SirWere: Errr...... Sorry to disappoint but your body cells have already adapted to the circadian rthythm of 24 hours, hence they age and die normally.....
Unless of course, you're talking about "getting away from wordly pollution"..... Hehehe Do you know what is awesome with the human physiology? It adapts. It is experimentable. That doesn't mean you could spend your life in a pit or basement just to outlive others on the surface. The effect isn't noticeable on such a small scale. If you became a basement hermit, then across your entire lifetime you'd only age a fraction of a second slower than everyone else above ground. |
