@Topic, Low level yes, lowest level, I think not. People criticize OBJ for not improving infrastructure and all, but some people really need to check their facts before they talk. The electricity which is being produced today in Nigeria, comes mainly from Power Plants that Obasanjo commissioned in the 70s. OBJ may have achieved little, Infrastructure wise, but tell me one politician that pumped more into the power sector than OBJ. The situation that Nigeria is today is because of people like Gowon and Babaginda, not Obasanjo. Gowon and his counterparts ruined Nigeria's political system and wasted all the countries money on white elephant projects. Nigeria was in a tight situation due to the sudden decrease in the price of Oil, Nigeria had little Windfall and the Nations ethnic tension didn't help. BUT the situation got even worse when Babaginda should have started planning when he had the chance, but he didn't, the Mid nineties drop in Oil arrived and Nigeria found itself in a Deja Vu Situation, Abacha worsened situation and when Abubakar became Head of state in 1998 he had little to gamble with, of course OBJ became power in 1999 and he was handed a burden hat no other president in Nigeria had been handed. OBJ may be corrupt, but Gowon, IBB and Abacha were the people that devastated Nigeria.

Buhari and Yar'Adua have divided Northern Nigeria, so the Al gore concept comes into play, except this time it's unintentional.

Take this forum for example, in the Buhari/Yar'Adua thread the votes are split 50/50. The Northerners might just be sabotaging their chance at leadership, because of the PDP split. Atiku should have stayed in PDP and Yar Adua should have ran for Senate or something similar, but now Atiku's move will backfire on himslef, hisnew party, PDP and Northern Nigeria. It will all come down to how many votes Pat Utomi can gather.

There is still hope for a better Nigeria, let's keep our fingers crossed.

The Igbos of Nigeria and the people of Cameroon share linguistic and religious similarities, they are essentially the same people. prior to European colonization West Africa was split into Great Kingdoms, there were the Songhai, the Mali, the Ghanaian kingdom, the Karnem Bornu, the Oyo Kingdon, the Dahomey warriors etc. The yorubas in all these places migrated from the Oyo Kingdom, yoruba is essentially a Nigerian language as French is a language of France, or Portuguese a language of Portugal. All these languages are spoken elsewhere and thereare people of Portuguese descent in many places, but the Portuguese are essentially from Portugal.
