PassingShot:my brother there is no gang up except here in nairaland.ibos in lagos have not ganged up against anyone. Some will clearly vote for APC while others will vote for PDP.the mistake here is that we tend to look at situation from the nairaland point of view but from the information available to me,the ibo leaders have not endorsed neither Agbaje nor ambode.what is clear to me is that people will vote for the candidate of their choice.let some people keep creating their separate world in the name of nairaland.there is no one person that can speak for an entire race or ethnic group.I am ibo,my elder brother is a staunch APC memeber who campaigned vigorously and even risked his life as a party agent during the presidential election.he is a buhari diehardist and yet some folk will say ibos didn't vote or supported buhari. The point I am making is that these things depends on individual convictions and conscience.that's what democracy is all about and nobody should be crucified for expressing his humaness.both the candidates are yorubas and lagosians for that matter and why would it be a problem if any of them wins! |
EUROBOMBER:my brother while I agreed with u in some point,I also dissagree in some others.firstly,I am igbo by tribe and many of my relations lives in lagos.I do not think lagos is no mans land.lagos is a yoruba land and we must be clear about it.but u can't place the problem on d door step of one tribe.there is mutual distrust amongst the tribes in nigeria which is unfortunate! I have many friends which majority of them are yorubas.I mean very good friends who has become more or less like brothers and sisters to me.I love and respect them and they do same towards me.we inter marry, do business, worship at the same churchn work in same offices and share great moments together.a yoruba man who is General in the army is like a father to me and has stood by my family at all times.the point is that we have to de-emphasise on tribes and see ourselves first as nigerians.looking at the comments here in nairaland, one can easily understand that both the ibos and yorubas love bashing themselves for whatever reason that's best known to them.on individual level, the two tribes are getting on well while on social media, the war of words continue.both tribes need to respect each other and tolerance is the key.I undrstant that the election has thrown up a lot of issues but we have to learn to live as one as a nation with a collective destiny.for me, I respect the yorubas and will never be seen abusing them but it has to be mutual |
Chinom:God bless u brother! |
soe:they didn't impeach him before now but realising that APC has won the presidential election, they suddenly reconvened to impeach him.my question is, is this the foretaste of what is to come under the APC administration? Is this what the change is all about? Making enemies of opposition? I thot they accuse PDP of brigandage? They now want to do the same thing they accuse PDP of doing? It seems those who campaigned for GEJ are been hunted just becos they stood up for their democratic right? I thot there is freedom of expression, right to vote and be voted for including campaigning for ur prefered candidate.even GMB himself will not be party to this impunity by this people.it beholves on all Nigerians to make this country work.its high time we respect individual choices.this is not why we voted APC, we want to see democracy deepen,we want to see job creation, education, healthcare, good roads, food security etc.pls give us the CHANGE we all crave for and stop all these witch hunting that will do us no good |
kastonkastrol:for your information, the ibos has always formed alliance with the north,Zik,Balewa and Shagari,Ekwueme.recently,General Buhar's running mate was Dr Chuba Okadigbo an igbo man and later Chief Ume-Ezuoke(late).u should make ur point without insulting an ethnic group becos they supported a candidate.that's what democracy is all about.there must be a context and there must be opposition.what is important is that the country is moving forward and democracy is maturing. |
They are protesting against T.A Orji who obviously has raped Democracy again in Abia state.let the whole world know that nobody in abia state voted for that man.he has once again imposed himself upon the people and Nigerians must not accept this |
chukwudi44:don't mind them my brother! They initially claimed Benue,Nasarawa and plateau state but the result from INEC has put to rest their lies.how long will they go with lies even when its obvious GEJ has won! Soon ego clear |
Fake result that has flooded the social media despite the warning from INEC agaist announcing un authorised result from the commission. This one is not from INEC and should be totally disregarded.why are politicians so desperate for power, later when they loose they resort to violence based on the fake result they've flooded the social media with.May God help Nigeria! |
No doubt GEJ has won! The opposition should congratulate PDP let's move on.no winner,No looser.Godwin! Congrats to Nigeria |
No doubt GEJ has won!!! He has been returned again.let the opposition congratulate him so that the process of nation building can begin.Long live the federal republic of Nigeria.Nigeria won! |
I went to 5 different polling unit in Abuja somehow close to my unit at APo quaters,1 and 2,Durumi 1,2 and 3.it was PDP all the way.it seems PDP cleard abuja however let's wait till INEC announce the result |
My polling unit at Apo quaters,PDP defeated APC overwhelmingly |
My beloved Bishop exercising his civic responsibility.God bless u sir! |
What's wrong with having a spy camera? How would u be able to capture electoral fraud? I don't even know if we are serious in this country? |
Mr man repent from lies.I've been following ur op since and its notin to write home about.when this elections are over, u might be held accountable for all of this.now ur trying to incite violence in ibo land but u have failed.that's how u posted that PDP and APGA guber candidates used thugs to shoot and break people's head and yet the pics u posted has no such things.when the chips are dawn u will wear a long face! |
Let them try their luck my God will win! Anything dey do Jonathan go win! |
Anything they do,Godwin! Let them try their luck my God go win,Jonathan go win!!! |
Is that the game plan? To scare the Easterners from voting,Jonathan's stronghold.let them try their luck but my God will win in Korede Bello's voice |
ozoigbondu:my brother I tire oo.I was just wondering the same thing and come to think of it,the Governor was not injured but his convoy.these people and the kind of politics they have instituted in this country.the story is laughable indeed! |
Every christian should rise up and speak against violence targeted against the faith.keeping silence will only encourage the perpetrators of this dastardly act of evil.countless number of churches has been burnt and thousands of christians killed in the north all in an attempt to cower the christian faithfuls or better still purge them from that part of the country and yet few are speaking against this evil.I'd thought that democracy is about freedom to choose and asociate with whoever u wish to associate with and even support and canvass support for ur prefered candidate.if Oyedepo has suported GEJ, what is undemocratic about it? Does that warrant burning his church? Is this the kind of country we want to leave for our children? How long will violence be melted against a people for their democratic right? Etc. The world is watching.ICC, AU,UN and the international community. Please take note! |
Mr man ur biased. No doubt ur Okorocha supporter and obviously painted other aspirants in bad light by claiming they came to a cathederal with barage of arms wielding thugs. U further went on to say that they inflicted machet cuts on worshipers etc.also u claimed u have the pictures of the armed wielding thugs and their victims.well, from the pictures u posted, there was no such thing.my advise to u is simple.honesty is virtue and truth cannot be denied.I am not interested with the outcome of Imo election and from my previous comment here,I have admired and defended Okorocha on many occasion but people like u are doing him more harm than good! |
What I expected the duo to do is to address a world press conference and calling on their suppoters to abhor violence during and after the election,In that way, there suppoters will adhere to them and not just signing a peace pact which they'd alredy done before.its not about them, its about the fanatical followers who are ready to kill on their behalf.its well with Nigeria! |
That's why the rest of us should be wise and stay away from violence.its a shame that this is happening because Nigeria want to conduct election.I don't know were we are heading to.firstly, they heat up the polity and secondly, they incite their followers to violence and the masses are the victims.elections has been conducted all over the world from Ghana to South africa and isreal recently yet u don't hear of violence.I just keep wondering the specie of mankind that inhabit this part of the world.my prayer is that the election will be free and fair, violence free above all.I think we should introspect and reflect soberly the basis of our existence as a nation.God bless Nigeria! |
He should assure Nigerians of Violence free Post election.that's what is expected of them at this moment.there is so much tension in the land.God's will be done! |
jmoore:don't mind them. People travell everyday and peace transport is always full to the brim on daily basis so how on earth would u say its becos of election.I live close to the park cos I stay in utako and there is no single person I lknow that have travelled becos they re running |
barcanista:they have to be my brother! Christians are been persucuted and churches burnt, many uninvestigated killings and systematic cleansing over the years.the election has provided once again an opportunity for such barbarism and yet no one is speaking out against these age long persecution.that's why I am calling on ICC and the world to be watchful and not keep silent again.I don't know why election should be do or die that people will be running becos election is coming.it happen only in niogeria and the world should keep an eye on Nigeria and ensure that perpetrators of violence this time is brought to book.we are all watching |
I'll rather say that christians in the north should be concerened becos once the elections doesn't favour Buhari, every christians will automatically be targeted. That's what happened in 2011.let's call a spade a spade.its not about southerners leaving, its about the safety of the christian community in the north which has been decimeted over the years. The ICC,AU,UN and the entire world should take note.it happened in 2011,there is fear it might happen again going by the antecedent...despite the fact that christians are supporting buhari yet they are the victims of political misfortune.the whole world is watching !!! |
Sensational journalism.he said rumour of military hand over while the headline screamed "uncovered a plot to handover" u guys should repent from this kind of deception and stop heating up the polity. The man never said what u want us to believe and yet you headlined it so as to attract attention..God is watching all of u and when the chips are dawn,u will surelly wear a long face |

There is difference beteeen survey and realities. Any body who relies on them may have himself to blame when the chips are dawn.I have followed all the polls and survey conducted so far including the one that predicted the North central to GMB and I just smiled.North Central states are core PDP states and so far the voting pattern in those areas has remained the same for years and yet a certain survey gave it to Buhari etc. My take on these things is simple, go and ask the isreali and the zionist party that was predicted to beat the likud party handsdown by all survey and polls and at the end, Netanyanhu of the likud against all predictions Beat his rival handsdown.my advise to those that rejoice in online polls is to be cautious so as tp avoid heartbreak! Human behaviour is highly unpredictable and people can change their mind even on the election day |
I have often said that we don't have to mix politics with development as a nation if we want to make progress.Rochas is one Governor that deserves to be commended for his developmental strives.I am a frequent visitor to Owerri and I can tell u that Okorocha's admnistration has done noble in all spheres.I don't admire his party and some of things he stands for but as a people, we must begin to demacate between policies and politics and focus on the things that matters most to us.I give kudos to Akpabio,Fashola.Okorocha.Lamido and Obiano.if u think Okorocha has not performed, take a trip to the neighbouring Abia state.I am pro PDP but it doesn't stop me from recognising good things when I see one. |
emmasege:I did not attend Ago Iwoye. As a matter of fact, I didn't school in Nigeria.I have not been to Makarere either but I have visited the wittwaterstrand and I know what the school is made of.I don't mean to disrespect u but I realised that Nigerians are always fond of assuming that anything Nigeria is best in Africa and offcourse I am a proud Nigeria myself but if u do an honest search, that Ife will not come anywhere near in this continent.Covenant University made it first in webometrics thanks to Dr Oyedepo emphasis on the importance of web content and ranking.I work with the agency that regulate university system and I have travelled to many universities in africa and europe.I have an informed opinion on this |
