If Sigmund Freud were alive, he would have coined a stellar term summarising the antipathy expressed by many fans of top EPL teams towards the great Barcelona. Anyhow, Barça is still a more interesting club than Real Madrid. Call me biased but I still think we have a more interesting club history, a richer culture, a more interesting club anthem, and our fans are also one of the most loyal in the world.

I posit, too, that supporting Barcelona is thinly correlated with "high intelligence". Feretting through Nairaland for instance would reveal that the top commentators (in terms of knack for critically incisive analysis, star-studded vocabulary and literary brilliance, numeracy, and over-all knowledge base) in the Religion section, Politics section, Rap section, Family section, TV/Movies section, Education section, and even Romance section, are "mostly open supporters of Barça". It takes a keen and intelligent eye well acquainted with the aesthetics of soccer to both apprehend and appreciate the nuanced archetectural patterns eminent in the Cruyff-inspired Barcelona playing style.

I grew up among people who were either supporting Real Madrid or A.C. Milan, but the aforementioned qualities won my heart to the Camp Nou. I always saw Real Madrid as a club of "glory-hunting mecenaries", because they (Real) always spent so much money in puchasing external limbs rather than cultivating their own legs.

Part of the cause of our recent downslide is because we've taken to the ways of "mercenary-hunters" like Real and PSG, forgetting that unlike their's, our board of directors are but a bunch of penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooges who wouldn't leave a hole their wallets if their lives depended upon it. If only we hadn't relaxed the earnestness invested in La Masia, perhaps we wouldn't be picking our way through this fuckery-themed tea-party of very "avoidable" problems. But then again, it could merely be a sore case of "hindsight bias".

In one match Casemiro made several fouls and wasnt sent off, Vidal made a clean tackle and was red carded, Ronaldo scored not one but 2 offside goals. That is worse than Van persie red card

Don't kowtow to emotions due to the fleeting happenings of the time. It was bandied about too that winter would come for Barça when Ronaldinho left - it didn't happen. Before Enrique's entry as well, the team was an unrecognizable shadow of itself, and the end was said to have finally come for Barça, yet we won a treble in the aftermath of all the dismal prognostications.

Pique isn't that bad, the problem at the back is Vidal and no midfield cover for the defense. Just play Nelson in every game and sign Inigo! The defense will be okay. Paulinho will be good for the midfield with a possible addition of Coutinho and then Ousmane up front. We will be fine.
