Sports › Re: Germany Vs Argentina: World Cup Final (1 - 0) On 13th July 2014 by ddippset(m): 11:48pm On Jul 12, 2014
RikoduoSennin: FACTS about Argentina Vs Germany

Head to Head: Argentina won 7, Germany won 9, Draw 4.

Past world cup performance:
1986 Final- Argentina won 3-2 Germany
1990 Final- Germany won 1-0 Argentina
2006 KO- after 1-1, Germany won 4-2 on penalties Argentina.
2010 KO- Germany won 4-0 Argentina.
2014 Final- huh

Argentina team have been struggling against European teams throughout this 2014 world cup:
Won against 2-1 B/H, Extra time 1-0 Switzerland, 1-0 Belgium, after goalless for 120mins, 4-2 on penalties against Netherlands.

While Germany has never played more than regular time, remained goalless in a 90mins match. Practically anyone can score and Nuer is very good. They play more team football than other team, taller than short Argentina, knock ball around with accuracy more than Netherland, won two important matches against two high ranked teams (co-second ranked Brazil and fourth ranked Portugal, 7-1, 4-0 respectively).

Let's face it Argentina's option is to defend with 5 defenders, they don't have goal hungry scorers, Fatigue of playing 24 hrs behind Germany with two matches stretching more than 120mins playtime. Argentina is not the best team in this competition, them winning it will be just CHANCE if it happen to be so. Martins Indi marked out Messi. Messi is not special, he is just a popular player who media and personal sentiments have blowned out of proportion.
who is indi? messi wasnt marked by just indi, messi had 3 or 4 players around him whenever he touched the ball. nor be only indi. messi has dealt with defenders bigger than indi.

dmcdad: You should have known better that it's not worth it at all. How would I put my faith on an AI assistant that uses Bing with a series of algorithms to guess or predict as you would put it a football outcome?

Like you rightly stated, she's just an opportunist.
like i said before, i predicted correctly all the second round, quarter final, and semi final fixtures but one. i only failed the germany - brazil match, and i aint no cortana.
Sports › Re: Is This The Worst Brazilian Side Ever? by ddippset(m): 11:23pm On Jul 12, 2014
no doubt! they said thiago sylva's absence caused the 7-1 drubbing. so what have they got to say now? kudos to argentina who were able to eliminate this dutch side. the dutch defence is too goooood.

usbcable: video replay will make.football into cricket and superbowl games endless stopages.
hence no to video replays
not for every infringement or controversy. technology for offside decisions, penalty decisions and red card decisions.there wont be no endless stoppages or whatever. the time it takes for players to protest such decisions, crowding the referee and all that, is much more than 5 or 6 seconds which it might take the ref to get a message from a control room.

thegoodjoehunt: After the goal was scored, there was a celebration. At that time, the fifth official in the Camera room would have watched the replay. As they are celebrating the goal, the referee would rule no goal offside. Even if it was one millimeter, he was offside.
I hope video replay technology comes in.
even though i dont know your motive but the refusal to use technology in football is the most cruel and stvpid decision ever made by man.

cr7lomo: So it's messi that has scored in his last 3 , u just biased . Hamez (james)Rodriguez deserves it
messi is in the final, robben isn't! There is a gulf in class between playing in the semi final and playing in the final. Which james? The same one who didn't cross the quarter finals? The golden boot is ok for him!
Sports › Re: FIFA Releases World Cup Golden Ball Nominees by ddippset(m): 11:14am On Jul 12, 2014
Robben hasn't scored in the last 3 games. All he's been doing is diving around! It's muller or messi.

messi shudnt b among, hasnt bin lively in dis world cup, just scored a few important goals against poor opposition durin d group stages. JAMES RODRIGUES SHOULD WIN IT.he is worthy, then muller
messi shouldn't be among a ten man shortlist? Brother, your haterism stinks! Argentina just made the finals aafter 24 years with messi winning 4 man of the match awards and you think he should not be in a 10 man shortlist? Guy you need some sleeping pills. Get ready to cry tomorrow cus muller or messi gets the golden ball, depending on who wins the cup.

this cortana abi na cortina is always going for the obvious choice. all her past 16 predictions were very obvious apart from the germany , brazil game.

dmcdad: Does it matter which comes first? I thought the paramount thing is to bring in players for every positions we are falling short. Whether a keeper is the last and a defender first shouldn't be the issue, what really matters is for us to make the necessary signings using the stipulated time-frame made for signings.

My point is; as anxious as we all are as regards getting quality CBs in our ranks, let's pipe down a little as the transfer window is as long as trekking from Lagos to Kaduna.
my simple point is this; if you do not go to the market to buy fresh vegetables @ sunrise, you'd be left with reminants @ sunset, but i agree with you, everyone still ends up with vegetables.

onuwaje: I feel suarez will FLOP in his first season at barca and here are my reasons
1.He would b training by november which means he won't jump into the first eleven by january
2.He'll have to work with messi (unlike in liverpool where he's the main point of attraction same applies to neymar)
And I am not happy with zubi and co..
Why sign a striker for 70million when we have defensive issues.. An amount that would give us thiago silver and an extra midfielder?
I feel someone will end up like ibrahimovic
My opinion
maybe it's effectively 30 million since we got 40 million for sanchez. based on what i saw him do at liverpool, suarez is worth sanchez plus 30 mil. however we must sign defenders ASAP.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 6:37pm On Jul 11, 2014
Krasid: I won't be surprised when messi starts complaining when suarez is getting all the goals.
any system that works should be adopted but personally i prefer messi in the middle, suarez on the right. if messi plays on the side, and suarez tru the middle, and suarez is not scoring those 40 something, 50 something, 60 something, 70 something, 80 something, 90 something goals that win trophies not only messi will complain, i will.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 6:33pm On Jul 11, 2014
Johnpaul88: Fortunately, transfer period is still pretty long. We'll sign Caudrado & two centre backs. It doesn't matter when they were signed. If we sign them just before the window ends, it doesn't make them less of a priority. All that matters is they be signed, which i'm certain will be the case.
why was suarez prioritized over cuadrado or any quality CB? even with messi, neymar, sanchez, we re very good, so what we needed firstly was a CB. or are we going to haggle in the transfer market like we want to buy melon while other clubs wait for us like God gave us the divine right to sign cuadrado and co whenever we wanted? that cuadrado guy, if we dont treat him like we did suarez, someone else will buy him. this feet dragging isnt good at all.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 6:08pm On Jul 11, 2014
that's the arrogance that disgusts me! you think because you have messi, neymar and suarez you are going to score a million goals and leave your backside exposed.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 5:24pm On Jul 11, 2014
Mcleo007: During these past days, the blogosphere has been feeding off on the workability of the 3 super attacking components of Barca come next season; the Neymar - Messi - Suarez combo. Were i to be the coach, this would be my formation; 4-5-1(4-2-3-1)

-------------------- Ter Stegen -----------------------

---Montoya---- Pique------ Hummels---- ALba---

------------Rakitic---------Busquets-----------------

---Iniesta-----------Messi------ Neymar Jnr-------

--------------------L. Suarez ------------------------- cool

This formation guarantees no fewer than 3 goals per game in LaLiga and 2 against the elite teams in Europe, albeit conceding limited number of goals. You might ask, why Montoya? The answer is simple; the onus of a sound tiki taka composition is having 3 defence minded players to man the backline. The duo of ALves and Alba palying on the same field is a disastrous combo, which might explain among other reasons why we have conceded so much goals during the last seasons from in-runnings from either flank to goal, than from previous seasons with Alba out of the mix. Alves has been most susceptible to that. Montoya may be much younger and lacking in experience, but he'll grow, and at the moment, he's more positionally alert than Alves. It is against the rules of tiki taka to field 2 attacking full backs, at least to my own understanding.

From the above, one can recall that, during Pep era, Abidal never goes more than 15 meters into the opposition half. He stays alert and back to run the defence line alongside the the 2 CBs, leaving Alves the freedom to roam forward and support the attack. In the new system, hopefully with Hummels in the rank, we can count on Monotoya staying back along with the CBs, allowing Alba support the attack and midfield.

But i'm not the coach. lipsrsealed
lol, this is what we call electronic football. hahahaha. nice line up though but let's be realistic, any humour about hummels? plus cuadrado might replace montoya.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 5:22pm On Jul 11, 2014
Johnpaul88: We'll sign Caudrado & he'll play up front until Suarez & Neymar returns fully, then he can revert to the right back
wonderful idea my friend. why didnt i think of that? nice thought. but the problem now is the f**king board is not saying a d**n word about cuadrado. if i were the bosses, i'd buy cuadrado before suarez.

SaintChukz: http://www.microsoftproductreviews.com/windows-phone/cortana-14-and-has-has-picked-a-world-cup-winner/

For all die hard Messi fans and those who are clamouring for Argentina to win this year's 2014 World Cup despite their poor unconvincing run, i guess faith has struck them a fatal blow as Cortana, 8-) the virtual assistant on the Microsoft WP 8.1 platform has tipped Germany to win the cup while Brazil will edge out the Netherlands for 3rd place. shocked Will she be proved wrong this time around or will she further cement her growing reputation as the most outstanding predictor of World Cup games since "octopus Paul"? cheesy What say you Nairalanders?
not too impressive! it's not too difficult to predict this world cup. the big guys have always won! i aint no cortana but in the past 16 games the only prediction i got wrong myself was the brazil versus germany game. i predicted a victory for brazil. but i got all other 15 correctly. so what's the big deal about cortana?

there are actually 2 versions; a win for argentina and a win for germany. which is which?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 1:37pm On Jul 10, 2014
who wins the world cup? germany 55%, argentina 45%. germany is a more balanced side. but if argentina wins, i will buy 100 cartons of star beer and dump them on this thread!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 9:40am On Jul 10, 2014
At the moment the golden ball is between him and muller until someone comes up with some more magic in the final.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 9:35am On Jul 10, 2014
yourangel: Yes o! Additionally; win or lose, playing in the final alone has handed him the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or already! Wow, five Ballons!
I wish so but I don't quite think so. Winning the world cup gives him his 5th ballon dor most definitely. But losing in sundays final means he wins the silver medal but I think he has to add either the golden boot or the golden ball to win the ballon dor. He should win something golden!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 9:26am On Jul 10, 2014
Mcleo007: Safe for Mascherano, DiMaria and Aguero; the rest are just there. Rojo world class? You are kidding!
iam not quite sure what you guys mean by world class. Rojo has been excellent for argentina. If he was playing in the epl or la liga I bet we'd be calling him 'world class' I will not quit saying this, argentina's defence has been wonderful. The cliche is always 'argentina have a bad defence aand 'good attackers'' what good attackers? Aguero has been unseen! Higuain has been below average!de maria has been hot and cold! Lavezzi has not been decisive! Only messi has been good his only hinderance is that he's still not a striker or CF. He always has to run in. Now how about garay, masherano, fernandez, rojo, zabaleta or even demicheles? Believe it or not they ve been superb! The suspect area is the midfield. Just borrow a guy like riquelme of then or veron and put in that midfield in order to free up messi to play closer to the goal and I swear this argentina will lift that trophy.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:01am On Jul 10, 2014
Lol. All through from day one, people be like this argentine team is not good, it's average, it's poor, messi is carrying them, belgium will knock them out, holland will beat them. Now they are in the final, they are now a good team, they wouldn't accept messi has carried an underperforming argentina to the final. He almost singlehandedly won 4 out of the 6 games. At this stage in the final win or lose nobody should say he cannot perform for his national team, nobody would dare play that iniesta and xavi card on him anymore. But if he wins this world cup he becomes the greatest of all time.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 7:50am On Jul 10, 2014
One thing I've learnt in this world cup, never play mascherano at central defence!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 11:21am On Jul 06, 2014
Mcleo007: My dream formation for next season:

------------------ Ter Stegen--------------------------

-- Montoya----- Pique---- Hummels-----Alba-----

---- Rakitic------Busquets----Iniesta--------------

---------------------Messi-----------------------------

-------------Suarez---------------Neymar Jnr------

cool cool cool cool cool

The above is against inferior oppositions.

Against the elite teams, especially in the first Classico:

---------------------- Ter Stegen---------------------------

-------Pique---------- Hummels-------------Alba----------

-------------------Vidal wink---------Busquets------------------

----------Rakitic-----------------------Iniesta----------------

---------------------------Messi-------------------------------

---------------Suarez-------------------Neymar Jnr--------

The formations should see Messi at the direct summit. He serves as the team leader and attack orchestrator. His role should swing favourably from being a No 10, through False 9 and SMF. smiley He should more goals against inferior oppositions and be chief creator against superior ones. However, Hummels should be the defence marshall.
did you hear anything about signing hummels? pls share with us. that would be great.
