From your earlier post, it appears you said this happened to your sister and had been resolved with a lawyer writing on their/your behalf. Follow what the resolution was. If you know you are truly for childbirth, forget this your wedding stuffs and dont show up at the POE with a 2 weeks return ticket if your pregnancy is already showing to avoid your previous encounter. Prepare for your interview, apply for B2 visa, get your doctors' correspondence. In the DS-160, explain why you were returned at the POE in the best possible way, use the doctor's contact as your contact details in the US, if possible, make some deposit to the doctor, avoid chicago this time and hope the pendulum swings in your favour. Aprilborn: Good day everyone, please I need clarification on an issue I have, I had a US visiting visa in 2012 used it twice, renewed and still used it once then decided to use it for delivery in 2015(didn't know it was legal to have my baby then) so I travelled and was sent back when they found out I was preg at poe(tho I argued with them I wasn't going to have my baby just visit and leave, becos I was just abt 28 weeks then). Now I want to reapply tho im not preg now, I want to travel in nov for a wedding after which I would like to use it next year for childbirth, my qst is should I apply for a medical visa even tho im not preg now or just visiting visa and consequently go ahead with my decision for childbirth next year as I plan to take in end of the year? Also incase im asked at the interview why I didn't let them know I was preg, shld I still stick to my argument at the poe that I wasn't going to have a baby just visit. Thank you in advance for your answers. |

I dont think there is anything like 'fast track' for Australian visa, with my own on-going experience and what i have read on this thread. Yes, i submitted my details to the agency but i doubt that has any impact on the visa process. I observed you just applied this month. I wish you all the best o. I think Davody also submitted an online biz visa application and got a response after 4 weeks, like few days to the conference, soo be hopeful. I got another email this morning from pretoria immigration addressed to one "Mrs. Chikwendu" and wrongly sent to me and the email was simply telling her to write a letter to withdraw her application for visitor's visa and resubmit an application for biz visa within 7 days before they make a decision, as she stated she was attending the IBA, which is not tourism but business. I have responded that the email was wrongly sent to me and also included my own details to follow-up with my application since it had passed the standard processing time for biz visa. Still awaiting their response. babylawyr: Thanks Debby516. I applied using the online channel and I have not received any feedback. I'm getting worried. You know that IBA will not refund after Sept 25. Fingers crossed. Also did you submit your details with the events coordination agency to fast track. |

Hello, yes its the IBA. I just got a response from them this morning based on my follow-up email to them last week enquiring about the status of my visa applications. That is almost 6 weeks since i submitted a paper application at TLS ikeja office. No visa grant yet, just asked for my details to check through their records. babylawyr: Hello debby516, i just read thru the thread and saw ur posts. Was it the IBA conference you applied for? Did you do the paper application at TLS or online? How long did it take between submission and response. Thanks |

I used Emirates to Houston at 35 weeks plus and had no issue. For the return journey, the layover is more than 8 hrs but there is a complimentary accomodation by emirates. While its a bit longer compared to some other airline like BA, its not entirely bad. On safety, it depends on how far gone u re and if u dont ve medical issues like swollen feet etc when u re on the same spot for a long time. Lanifat84: Hello house Please planning to travel with emirate to Dallas , though my final destination is Indianapolis . I read in some post that the journey is longer compare to other airways not really safe for pregnant women Please reviews on emirate flight from past missionary mothers will be appreciated. Thanks
Will be using st Vincent hospital in Indiana. Looking forward to post my experience here since there's no much information here for hospitals in Indiana Wish me luck |

Thank you for this, soo helpful at this time. drI: Dear All, Good day. I have been a silent guest on this forum for a very long while and it has helped me tremendously. I really want to give back a little from my experience so far. I am currently in the US to have my baby and I would like to share my POE situation at the Houston POE which I arrived last week. First and foremost I want to inform us all that the immigration officers are on this page and read it all the time. They specifically mentioned this page to me and asked me to inform the house that they are with us. Not to scare anyone as I presume they may even be amongst us giving some input and guidance to us. He laughed at the change I intent letter we talk about here. I had it handy based on what I read here but i didn't even need to show it to him especially since he had laughed about how silly he thinks it is. My saving grace was that I had applied for the visa for vacation when I wasn't pregnant and I mentioned when asked that I will use it for child birth in future if I get pregnant. He saw that in my record. pls note that i was specifically asked this question and sincerely i thank God i was otherwise i may not have volunteered the information myself. However the Immigration officer at the POE says some of us will say we were not asked and it doesn't really matter we should have declared from the onset. Secondly please always say the truth. No matter the cost. When you lie it apears like you are unscrupulous and can't be trusted. Thirdly, let's not be scared of saying we want to give birth in the US. Both the consular officer and the immigration guy told me it's very legal to give birth in the US of you can pick the bills. All that is required is that you demonstrate that you know the bills and can comfortably pick them. Finally please always always pick your bills and have your itemised receipts and zero balance handy. it's really unfair for us to use the Medicaid or other health insurance in the US. The citizens are taxed heavily for these services and getting it is like stealing literally. pls let's not do that . Sometimes we can be cohersed and tempted to do that even by some hospitals and doctors but don't fall into that trap. And as the nice guy I may at the POE adviced pls don't sign anything while in Labour. you may not be cordinated enough to read through properly. God bless. |

Thanks a lot, but booking a hotel in LA for 10 weeks for child birth coupled with we that are also accompanying her on the trip does not look like a good/solid arrangement for accomodation, in my opinion. Still looking out for Accomodation arrangement but doubt if I can conclude it this week b4 I submit her application. Babatwi: I agree with almost everything that was said above, the only thing i have issues with is the using of Doctors contact as your mums contact in the US,because as it is,your mum does not have any dealings with the Dr. I would advice you to book a hotel accommodation for her on booking.com and use the hotel address for her contact in the US. You can do this by using your debit card and chose the option of payment when you get there, note that nothing would be deducated from your card untill you get there, you can also cancel a day before the actual date, but if peradventure you don't show up and also fail to cancel ,then money for one night's accommodation would be deducted from your card. I think this is a neater arrangement . |

thank you sir. Ramj: I must say hmmmmmm before answering all these i hope you know why. Hmmmmmmm again On a lighter mode. Your hubby na sharp shooter nice one. 1. Yes she can use your doctor's address since accommodation plan is not yet concluded
Let all your info be directed towards this current journey not your previous one. She can also go with receipts and oher docs just in case.
2. B1/B2 is correct for her 3l. She is traing with you to assist you sure the total duration she is going to stay is what yoy should write wherther its 10weeks or 3 months 4. Yes she should include you guys. she is travelling with you guys despite you guys having your visas already ( Let her also go with your data pagr and visa pages . 5. Yes you can use doctor's detail. 6. Check well you would find a suitable option like home maker or something...
7. if she can read and write. let her go through the form and know what is there and then she can go with completing it herself. If she cant read or write Go with your option. |

Dear All,
Please i have some questions to ask. I want to apply for my mum's visa to accompany me for birth next year. I got my visa last year for child birth and stated Houston as my destination and contact address, I have since gone and return. Now considering LA for 2nd journey.
1. Should my mum's contact address be the doctor's address in LA, like i did for my Houston trip and used the dr's address since i am yet to conclude my accommodation plans for LA?
2. I am applying for B1/B2 visa for her. Hope i am correct?
3. Duration of stay is 10 weeks. Is that okay? for someone going on visit to assist with baby, and not child birth itself.
4. For the question, "are there other persons travelling with you?", can she include myself and and my toddler traveling with her even though we already have our visas?
5. For contact person in the US, can we use the Doctor's contact's details?
6. Under occupation, pls is there is an option for retired? Cos she no longer works.
7. Now for the concluding part on confirmation on who filled the form, can i safely pick that she didnt fill it herself but filled by her daughter,me?
Apologies for the lengthy questions and hope you find time to answer me, thanks. |

Congrats and thanks for sharing. A friend went thru Chicago POE last week and was sent to secondary inspection twice, spending 1hr on each occasion. Surprisingly, she was never asked any question but they just held on to her passport each time and the officer, probably after checking their system, saw no reason to question her, returned her passport and let her go. veegurl: In the spirit of giving back! I learnt a lot here. Here goes my POE testimony- I told him I won't take Medicaid. He sed I shuldnt bother coming back if i do. Told me to pay all my bills and come with my receipts. I was truthful all thru! And God touched his heart n saw me thru! |

Thought about this recently. I benefited from this thread 101% for my trip last year, 1st time applicant and no travel history, but the info i got on this thread with visa and POE interviews helped a great deal. Newbies come here asking for urgent info, like they just knew they were pregnant. You see some going on 2nd or 3rd missionary journey and you can't see any info on their previous trips, yet they are back here for more/latest info. I am only pleading that we help each other, no info is too small, most especially visa and POE transcripts. Reine22: This thread isn't what it used to be . I'm not yet a mom to be or even married, but I read this thread voraciously for research for when I'm ready. Lately, not as many folks are sharing info openly (pls inbox me or pm me is the new order of the day) and people with questions don't bother to read but spam the whole thread, asking about issues that have been answered endlessly. Please for the sake of everyone let's try to be more open and keep this thread rich and informative. It shouldn't dwindle off into obscurity. Thanks. My own two cents. |

Soo I ve another impending missionary journey in 2018 . I am trying to be experimental and try out some other cities - LA/Dr. M in mind. Still working on it, just want to be sure of all costs inclusive. Had Atl in mind, but i realised dat it maybe more expensive than my last year journey. Also checked out Chicago, but fear won't allow me, plus flying in thru another POE and doing local flights back and forth won't also help my ijebu plans. Today, someone mentioned Longview, and I immediately went on research, called them and already have their email sef, still nt cost effective for me jare. On the long run, if LA doesn't come cheaper than my Houston waka, I am sticking to Dr. Z/Oakland jejely, a familiar terrain by d way. So I ve and will be 'pming' some of you. Pls indulge me abeg, not like I am not doing my own research but some one on one experience could be helpful. Gracias |

Thanks Ayokunle07: The bills are still being sorted at the moment so I can't give a comprehensive amount so far but we paid the CS money and epidural, about $6,525 and Dr Tate's $1,500. He recommended a test that cost about $100 at another location. Dr Tate said she'd need to be induced, and induced she was. Delivery day, she pushed wthout epidural so we're going to get a refund. Emory's in-house paed, Child Healthcare of Atlanta, CHOA charged five hundred plus for 'professional' fees but was renegotiated to three hundred plus dollars. We also engaged a paed after delivery, Kidcare,..cost $140 on first visit, and $90 for second visit. That's as much info as I have now. When I meet with DW, I'll share more. |
