In my understanding, just the same way a profit warning turn down the fortunes of FBNH and FCMB, so did the good news of a good profit forecast and Britainayu case won turn around that of Seplat. For me those are some fundamentals Coolcash1: |

Manonamission:Thanks sir |
Are companies allowed to change closure date for register without any formal notification in letter accessible to investors about a change in their register closing date. Vitafoam for instance posted that their register will be closed last Friday only for me to check and see that they have a new date 15-19 February. Has anyone seen anything like this before? |
slyfoxxjoe:Point of correction sir, they are not begging but imposing. Let the current owners of discos and gencos pull out if they are not interested. As for finding money, that's simple enof. Fashola himself mention it last month at PENCOM conference in Abj that investors can tap into pension fund in Nigeria which is over $1trillion as loans, they will gladly provide it at a premium. When Akpabio needed money to develop akwa ibom state,he floated bond for the state which people bought into. Ask Aliko how he raises money to start up new empires in his manufacturing line. Do you eveen know that most of his businesses have very little infrastructure in place before IPO/private placement are done . We refuse to fund these electricity companies, govt gave them everything they have. They should grow up. Raise IPO OR PRIVATE placements from the Nigerian stock exchange, provide services that's needed and we will pay higher tariff |
PentiumPro:No one is saying the decision is wrong. When mtn car to nigeria,we paid a higher call rate but it wasn't to build their mast and we enjoyed value for money, the same for all the telecom companies. Why will the electricity companies be shouting they don't have money to put more infrastructure. If they need money, let them go to the stock exchange and do IPO, Nigerians will gladly buy into their companies or let then do private placements and get few investors with required capital to fund their business. It is rape for us to pay for services not rendered. But the big problem is that theses companies were sold to politicians who no nothing about how to manage business but specialised in using govt to make free money. Tell which disco, genco you know that have built additional facilities outside the ones built By the government, definitely non. Did mtn,Glo,air tel, etisalat wait for you to pay higher tariff before bring mast to your area. I support the idea of increase in tariff but first things first 1. NERC/govt should remove the fixed charges. In my opinion, its a way of giving phcn easy money.its removal will keep them on their toes to provide devices but if its left, they won't be bothered an inch cos they know, weda I give them light or not my 700naira is constant. 2. Mandate all discos to provide prepaid meters. Even with all this shout of we don't have money, there are several investors willing to take up the business should they drop it,but they won't because its is gold mine. If you give me prepaid meter,I'll care less if light spoil and phcn doesn't come to fix it. Who's loosing.....definitely them, no more fixed charge and my meter isn't reading self. But with what nerc has done,we have successfully given them license to continue to over bill consumers with estimated bills at an added coat for no reason 3. Increase the tariff Having said all this, nerc and govt can go ahead and increase tariff, Nigerians will worry less. I have a prepaid meter in the studio I live in,I have bought 3000naira credit since October @188units. All the appliances in my house works and just today, I have over a hundred unit left after 5months. That's what prepaid meter can do. Fashola should do the right thing NERC should do the right thing. Our Lazy Senators and Reps should call NERC to order. We say no to tariff increase till all Nigerians get a prepaid meter. That's the way to go. |
stokfrick:And what's your definition of paper profit |
Whats is the usual price movement trend for very liquid stocks like GTB/zentih when they declare dividend or bonus. Do the price soar till closing date or it rise after dividend declaration & declines towards the closure date of the register. |
Mfunkynation:Happy birthday bro. |
Chibuking81:Accept my late night wishes my oga. Earnestly awaiting my day on the 11 ![]() |
OANDO ENERGY RESOURCES MAILS NOTICE OF MEETING AND MANAGEMENT INFORMATION CIRCULAR REGARDING TRANSACTION WITH OANDO PLC TO ACQUIRE OER MINORITY SHARES CALGARY, ALBERTA, FEBRUARY 3, 2016 - Oando Energy Resources Inc. (“OER” or the “Company”) (TSX: OER) today announced that it has filed on SEDAR and is mailing a Notice of Meeting and Management Information Circular (the “Circular”) in respect of a special meeting of shareholders (the “Meeting”) scheduled to be held on February 25, 2016 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The documents present the reasons for the unanimous recommendation from OER’s Board of Directors that shareholders vote IN FAVOUR of a special resolution (the “Special Resolution”) to approve a proposed plan of arrangement (the “Arrangement”) with Oando PLC and Oando E&P Holdings Limited (the “Purchaser”). As announced on December 22, 2015, pursuant to the Arrangement, the Purchaser will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of OER (the “Common Shares”). The record date (the “Record Date”) for shareholders entitled to attend and vote at the Meeting has been set at January 19, 2016. The Meeting will be held at the offices of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, 885 W Georgia St., Suite 2200, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6C 3E8 at 10:00 (Vancouver Time) on Thursday, February 25, 2016. As part of this transaction, the Company has notified the TSX and applied for the delisting of the Common Shares upon completion of the Arrangement. In addition, in accordance with Section 720 of the TSX Company Manual, the Company has applied to voluntarily delist the common share purchase warrants issued by the Company (the “Warrants”) from the facilities of the TSX upon completion of the Arrangement and an exemption from the requirement for security holder approval of such delisting is available pursuant Section 604(f) of the TSX Company Manual because Oando PLC holds more than 90% of the Common Shares. - 2 - Shareholders are recommended to vote IN FAVOUR of the Special Resolution. All Shareholders of record as at the close of business on the Record Date are entitled to vote at the Meeting. Shareholders who are the registered holders of Common Shares directly in their names and hold certificates representing their Common Shares should cast their votes no later than 10:00 a.m. (Vancouver Time) on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Shareholders who are not registered as the holders of their Common Shares but hold their Common Shares through a broker, custodian, nominee or other intermediary should cast their votes no later than 10:00 a.m. (Vancouver Time) on Monday, February 22, 2016. Further information on voting, including specific details of how to vote, can be found in the Circular. Completion of the Arrangement, including the delisting of the Common Shares and Warrants from the facilities of the TSX, will be subject to, among other things, approval by the syndicate of lenders in OER's US$450 million senior secured facility. [b]My question is " What are common shares?" and how does this help Oando cos they are encouraging sharholders to vote in FAVOUR of the sales and delisting of the common share. |
