Politics / Re: Why Cant The President Fuel His Own Car, Live In His Own House, Buy His Own Food by debest1(m): 12:32pm On Jan 12, 2012
diluminati:

Can someone tell me why the president, senators, reps, and all these government people cant live like the rest of nigerians?
why cant he buy fuel for his own car, live in his own house, use his own money to buy food for himself and his family, what makes them so special that every part of their life is subsidized to the bottom?
The same reason you don't buy the PC you use for your job(I'm assuming you have a job), or the same reason you don't pay for the pen, notepads, phonebills etc in the office. I mean let's be reasonable here! The office of the presidency is not his father's business hence he cannot be expected to self-fund, Even you must appreciate that

So the op wants to absolve gej and 'the cabal' of any involvement in the monumental corruption behind this fuel subsidy issue.
Well you know its only gonna end here, take your silly economics and go meet baba ijebu on the streets and explain to him why he can no longer afford a cup of garri.
You spring up with figures from anywhere and pro gej people are so quick to applaud you. what a shame!
Shows some people can never have a sensible/logical discourse. So just because you find his analysis contrary to your standpoint does not mean you should diss it,

Missy ★ B:

Oha

Ingredients
- Seasoning
- Ibo land Ogiri (locust beans)
- Handful of Oha leaves
- Cow skin (pomo)
- ½ oz Crayfish
- 8 Snails
- 6 Yellow peppers
- 6 Oziza leaves
- 250g Assorted meat
- 2 ½ cooking spoon of Palm oil or palm kernel nuts
- 10 pieces of Cocoyam
- 1 oz Stockfish
- 1 oz Periwinkle

METHOD
Step 1 : Boil the palm nut and cocoyam. Allow to soften for 25 minutes.
Step 2 : Extract the palm nut oil before adding to a thick pan. Allow to heat for 2 minutes with a few slices of onion.
Step 3 : Peel the back of the cocoyam with your hands. Quickly add in the palm oil to melt, then a small amount of
water and pounded yellow pepper.
Step 4 : Add the crayfish, stockfish, snail, ogiri (locust beans), cow skin (Pomo), periwinkle and seasoning. Allow to cook for 15 minutes.
Step 5 : Stir and then allow the cocoyam to melt in the soup. Cocoyam serves as a thickener in the soup but if too thick, add some water.
Step 6 : Add the Oha leaves. Do not chop/slice with a knife but use your hands to tear it into the soup.
Step 7 : Add the Oziza leaf (you can chop/slice the Oziza with a knife). Leave all to cook for 5mins then stir. Taste the seasoning (adjust according to taste).
Step 8 : Serve with Fufu or Eba.

mehn i'm salivating already. BTW is this soup bitter(i mean like bitter leaf soup)?

i'm a chemical engineering student in one of the nigerian universities though i am new to this forum but i feel it w'l be important i share some of my worries: firstly, what are d list of professional courses i can do as a chem engr undegraduate while in school that w'l be of great benefit to me even after graduation, secondly, Are chemical engr graduate recongnise in nigeria if yes what are d chances of job opportunity as compared to other engineering discipline, what are d best option of certificate to have after graduation to boost my chances, just want to know all these cos is always gud 2 plan b4 time, a more experienced persons shud help me out here.tanxx
Oga, my advice to you at this stage is to put in as much effort as possible and make sure you get a good grade(2:1 or above). You cannot bug yourself down with courses when you are still in uni as these courses are more or less tailor-made for specific industries. So unless you've decided on \ specific area you want to go into i.e. (o&g, petrochem etc) such a move would be nothing but a waste of your money.
As for job prospects, the stock of chemical engineers in naija or indeed abroad is still high so I'd expect you to get a job provided you have a sound knowledge of process eng principles.
