Car Talk / Re: Car Talk Chat Room by Debest4u: 5:49am On Jul 09, 2022
Good morning house.
Pls I have a challenge with my car Avanza 2010 model. If I am on motion the acceleration will just stop because is a manual but if I clutch and allow the engine meter to drop to minimum if I accelerate it will respond. So I don't know what maybe causing it. A mechanic suggested it could be the fuel pump. But the thing is that the car doesn't jerk and it doesn't go off. So that makes me doubt that the fuel pump is what is affecting it. Thanks waiting for suggestions from the house

Seeing this pics I just smiled. Just yesterday NY son 3years 6monrhs old opened my wife's oven and sat on the oven door and my wife just finished using the cooker to fry meat for the new year celebration waiting for it to cool and the was also a pot of stew on the cooker as she was washing dishes in the sink she just turned and saw the cooker falling forward and she shouted and NY guy just jumped and narrowly escape both the hot oil and stew. My wife was just complaining about the waste but me I told my wife what if it was the hot oil that poured on him what would she have done. Is really interesting watching them grow.

Politics / Uganda Loses It's Only International Airport To China by Debest4u: 7:57am On Dec 07, 2021
https://punchng.com/uganda-loss-of-international-airport-to-china/?amp

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that originated in China in the late 2019 crippled countries worldwide with smaller and poor economies taking a big hit. Reduction in revenues and foreign aid has affected these countries’ spending and thus their ability to repay loans. Uganda is facing the biggest national crisis as it has been forced to surrender its only international airport to China for failing to pay back the loan it had taken in 2015. It had borrowed USD 207 million from the Export-Import Bank of China (Exim Bank). Now, the country is set to lose the strategic Entebbe International Airport to China, thus losing a vital component of its sovereignty.

Uganda now joins the club of Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives, who have been stuck in the “debt trap” created by “predatory” conditions of Chinese loans especially under the aegis of the Belt and Road Initiative. Pakistan, Thailand, Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Laos and Cambodia are some other countries that are on the verge of suffering a similar fate over debt failure.

When the agreement was signed in 2015, many in the East African country raised doubts over the provisions favouring China. Moreover, the rights and obligations of both parties were decided to be governed by the laws of China. This forced Uganda to agree to the conditions that waive any immunity to its assets including those characterised as sovereign from any suit, the jurisdiction of any arbitral institution or arbitral tribunal, judgment. Experts had felt it was as good as mortgaging the airport for the Chinese loan. Now, their fears finally came true.

Uganda’s debt has touched USD 17.96 billion, which is almost 50 per cent of its GDP. And the country is under tremendous pressure to repay $3bn in just the next 10 years.

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, recently sent a delegation to Beijing to renegotiate the loans. However, the request was turned down as China refused to allow any alteration in the original terms of the loan agreement. This means Uganda is likely to forfeit the Entebbe International Airport that handles over 1.9 million passengers annually.

Uganda’s Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija, has apologised to the country’s parliament for the loan fiasco as China prepares to take over the Entebbe airport. “I apologise that we shouldn’t have accepted some of the clauses,” he said. The agreement has a specific clause of ‘surrendering’ of its most prominent airport if Uganda cannot pay back the loan. However, people in Uganda were unaware of these clauses when the deal was signed in 2015. Now, it is coming to the fore that the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority had red-flagged the clauses that were detrimental to the country’s interest.

The UCAA managing director, David Kakuba, said, “Some 13 clauses were deemed unfriendly and as good as mortgaging the airport and eroding the country’s sovereignty. The most troubling for the aviation bosses was a clause that gave Exim Bank the sole authority to approve withdrawal of funds from the UCAA accounts.” China also froze disbursement of loan amounts after the UACC did not implement some of the clauses that were not favourable for Uganda. This slowed down the work and the project lost 361 days, thus adding to the economic woes of Uganda.
Family / Re: My Experience Today With A Youth Corper by Debest4u: 11:27am On Nov 25, 2021
You did well.
I have also had an experience I was coming to Ekpoma in Edo state from Ondo state and by the time I got to Benin it was a late and the transport was more than the normal. I had to speak to a guy in the bus. He asked me to come inside and collected what I had and added to it and paided for me he even went as far as buying me gala and drink and as at that time I was already very hungry I really appreciated him. From that day I have learn to also help people too. Although there was this guy that use to ask people for money in new Benin park in Benin I had helped him with money once. Another time he came again with the same excuse that his transport is not complete. I just told him go and bring your bag and enter I will pay, the guy said he was coming and disappeared. So we can't stop helping but we need wisdom.

Woloaded:
“All expensive schools owned by churches are satanic and unbiblical” — Evangelist Gideon Akande

••••••
A Nigerian evangelist, identified as Gideon Akande, has opined that churches who run schools with expensive tuition are satanic and unbiblical.

He took to his Facebook page to make this assertion. According to him, those churches are creating terrible segregation among its members which is against what the bible teaches.

He further stated that pastors of those churches are not doing God’s work but running a business.

In a lengthy post, he wrote,

“ALL EXPENSIVE CHURCH SCHOOLS ARE SATANIC! All the churches who are building and running schools more expensive than Federal Government’s school in their countries are not doing the work of God, they are derailed, they are doing business, they are unbiblical and they are involving in evil and satanic separations.

So the school that belong to the church, can only admit member “A” who has money to pay for his children but the same church’s school cannot admit member “B” not because his children cannot pass the entrance exam but because he has no money. So only rich members can send their children to their church’s school? This is not Biblical, it is satanic. What is the main purpose of the church of God building academic schools? If the purpose is to create a godly and biblical environment for the students, then it means only the rich members will have their children in godly environment?

So it means that as same members of the church, we are going to the same heaven but our children cannot go to the same school the belong to our same church? What a terrible segregation!

Listen to what the Bible says: “For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool: have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?” James 2:2-4.

If the church of God can build schools with church money and then only allows children of members who have more money to come in to learn and disallow the children of the members who do not have enough money, have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? I mean, this is not Government school or private schools, this is church’s school built by church’s money!”
