Sounds like faulty shift-seloids usually caused by lack of service on auto transmissions. But at this stage now, just pray ur tranny can be saved. try to get ur tranny scanned to avoid trial n error things.

I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry v6.noticed the top radiator hose was leaking 4 days ago nd I took it 2 my mechanic who bought a tokunbo hose nd replaced d bad 1.
problem is since dt time my Camry has come close 2 overheating about 4 times....usually I notice vapor coming 4rm engine area 4rm coolant boiling onto engine components. nd wen dis happens, d reservoir tank is usually almost full.
I have checked d 2 hoses, dy r both hot meaning thermostat is opening. I have filled wit coolant about 3 times only 4 d episode to occur again.
my fans r nt connected directly nd I dd a test which confirms dy com on intermittently wen I idle nd wen engine is hot.
I have already changed radiator cap cos I noticed d rubber on d old 1 is worn bt it still appears lik d problem is there.
prior to this, my car runs fine no overheating, temp mark gets 2 half mark after som minutes of driving. this only started after changing d too radiator hose.
I read online dt I might av air in d system nd I need 2 burp d system. suggestions include opening d radiator cap, running d engine nd increasing car heat den pushing d RPM to 3000+ a couple of times 2 get rid of d air.
my mechanic is saying air shld find its way out on its own nd his pointing fingers at water pump.I dnt bliv its water pump cos everything was fine b4 d hose change.
I need gurus advice before going ahead wit d burping or any intervention.

Bros, fortunately, its a manual tranny. just drive the car to ladipo and have the case solved in a few hours. but for sake of saving time, get a replacement gearbox. You can find someone who would be wiling to swap a working one with your faulty one and collect some cash from you as compensation for the fault on your own gearbox.

Fellow nairalander. I was checking out a trend on nairaland of how a guy levitated at Ikeja, that brought about people staring for hours. Later the magic was busted and It was explained that the guy actually sat on a kind of chair that you can not see even with a closer look. That now remind me of what I saw in new Delhi (India ) when I went for a course. It's a huge stone tied to a stick, and the stick is sitting on a glass cup. It amazes me a lot every time I look at this picture. And there is this question that always comes to my mind . Could this be magic or science? Though I don't believe in magic but I need someone who can scientifically proof this to me or else I believe in magic once and for all if there is no proof for it. Thank yoy all.

But when I told him of the relationship between my brother and the girl, he told me to tell our parents and my brother so they can cancel the relationship that the girl isn't worth it.

Now am confused, I don't know if the girl is pretending or she doesn't recognize me anymore because of her numerous customers. I don't know if I should tell my brother or just keep quiet. Advice me pls

Hello good people of NLers, suggestions and advise is urgently needed on the above subject matter, I have replaced broken bolt of the alternator three times in one month, the recent one that happened was yesterday and the broken bolt cannot be removed without bringing the engine down, the mechanic don't even know the actual cause of the problem, someone suggested that the size of the belt may be the problem, pls what is ur take on this

you either your mech has been using the wrong kind of bolt or the wring belt size. a smaller belt size will put more tension on the said bolt.

I have never come across a V4 engine.

Background: The van was purchased just this week from Berger by a brother of mine whom I thought could do a detailed inspection, purchase, and deliver to me in Abuja. Apparently, he got a very clean van, too clean for its age which I like. However the van runs on only 1 gear and he said he didn't realize it until he had moved very far from Lagos and this was the following day after purchase. The bus came to Abuja without any issue on the way. The van looks good and I drove it today. Surprisingly I seem to want to keep it hoping the issue can be fixed. I have called the dealer and he said we will talk tomorrow as he sounded so surprised that a van could get to Abuja in good time and yet I am claiming the gear is faulty.

My observation: It appears the gear is permanently stuck in 3 though I may be wrong. There are no shift points. It idles at around 750rpm and takes off sluggishly from 2500rpm. It does not achieve 100-110km/hr until around 5000rpm which is just below the redline. Even though the top speed is 220km/hr, any attempt to go beyond 120km/hr will redline the engine.

I took the engine to a Volkswagen mechanic who observed that the connectors on a particular gear cable was dirty and he cleaned it with a carburetor cleaner and reconnected it. After a test drive, the transmission shifted for the first time but very roughly. Then it returned back to the 1 gear system from rest. The transmission oil sump showed its been opened not too long ago and the oil looks clean though I am not sure of what brand/type in there. I am not sure if starting from oil change will pay off. There are tons of information on T4 forum unfortunately hours of research has not paid off for me.

Also the power steering is not as light as I expected, is this normal please?

Any suggestions on what to do or any reputable VW mechanic (not Kazeem) in Abuja?

when a vehicle speed sensor doesn't communicate well with the ecu/TCM, the transmission will hardly shift gears. since the van isn't obd2 compliant, a scan can be achieved only with a VW obd1 scanner or within high end scanners that are equipped for both obd 1 & 2 diagnosis.

Somebody help!!! I bought a used 2008 Peugeot 307 sedan from a company some months ago and ever since it has become a nightmare for me. The windscreen of the car was broken when I bought it and that is all I thought I would replace. Unfortunately, I fell in the hands of a wrong Mechanic, who cut the timing belt after several try and error. This was fixed by another mechanic, but on my way home the car started to overheat and the gasket burnt. This was fixed by another mechanic but whenever I started the car I had to leave my leg always on the accelerator. At this point I went to scan it and the electrician said I needed to set the timing. The mechanic couldn't fix but I was able to find a Peugeot Mechanic who fixed it. The car started but I didn't drive it to far. Later when I did, I realised the car only moves normally for some minutes before it starts going with a speed of 10km/h irrespective of how much you press the accelerator. The phone number of the earlier Peugeot Mechanic is not available since then, so another Peugeot Mechanic was described. I drove the car from Ajah to Lekki gently but this new mechanic collected the key from me and drove speedily to his workshop. Few meters away from his workshop the car stopped and has not started since then. The mechanic has checked the injector, the fuel pump, the timing and every other places, but he said there is nothing wrong with the car. I called two electricians to scan the car. One said it was timing and the other said it was ECU(brain box). I need an expert in d house to help me out

pls leave the ECU alone. the timing is the problem.
