In this post, we’re going to quote what he wrote on Twitter. He stated the problems the various cars came with.

NB: Please, what you’re about to read is the opinion of @Otunbakush on Twitter and not that of Autojosh.

Below are the 24 cars he listed and the reasons why you should never buy them.

1. Land Rover 3 (LR3):

First on the list of cars you should never buy is the LAND ROVER 3 (LR3), about 27million pieces was recalled months after production, and trust me millions Don enter 9ja.

It might look rugged but, the issues, Transmission, engines, brakes, electrical and so on, it’s can go off anytime on motion, and u will need a mechanic to open d engine right on the spot. The brakes ain’t trust worthy cos it fails anytime, oil leaking into the engine errors.

You will keep visiting the mechanic, and dey will keep collecting money from you, this errors can only be fixed by Landrover themselves, less I forget, d brake disk, and lining has sensors, and dey fail repeatedly, so u fit Match brake and ẹ no catch…you Don die be that.

2. 2015 Mercedes Benz C300:

No 2, Mercedes Benz C300 ( 2015)

All model of this car was recalled due to fire, you can park and it will still catch fire, u can be on motion and it will catch fire, reasons?, fuel leaking into d engine, no Nigerian mechanic can fix it, you have to return it back to d company.

3. 2005 Nissan Pathfinder:

Transmission problem, you can ask anybody using this car, dey have changed gear box like 1million times, major figures of this suv was recalled, failed alot of test, but still found its way to Nigeria, gear can hook OK motion and can lead to accident.

Airbag problem, you can be driving, if u enter big porthole, d airbags will activate and boom on ur face, almost all of this car accident is caused by the airbag pulling on drivers face, avoid it at all cost.

4. 2002/2003 Nissan Xterra:

Run from this car, it was a test project before it was been released

Engine (60%)
Transmission and Drivetrain (0%)

You can speed to 100mph, at 70mph it starts shaking, at 80mph it shakes hard, at 100, accident, it will overturn by itself, if u no die, na God’s grace, if u die u go explain for heaven wetin kill you, avoid it.

Avoid d 2009 model if u are buying, crankshaft issa goal, it will give u problem, and d engine cos is around 2/3million naira, gear can also hook to park, making it difficult to put ur car in park gear.

7. 2010 BMW X6:

BMW recalled all of this model, but they only got 30% of it.

Engine problem
Fuel hose problem
Now let’s focus on electrical problem, once the problem starts u will know, ur dashboard will be messed up, car won’t move again, now, it will affect d engine.

Since it’s electrical, it sends light back into d engine switch and damages d major part of it, u will need to replace that engine, now 9ja rewire go just do shady work, and dat thing will repeat itself…so don’t buy it.

8. Volkswagen Touareg:

Volks Touareg, this suv’s problem is legendary and it’s one of the top cars you should never buy, I will just outline d major ones,

Transmission
Brakes
Sensor failure
Water finding it’s way mixing with oil, and straight into d engine (Knock)

Power steering failure, u fit dey drive make ẹ hook, u Don die be that.

9. 2008 Audi Q5:

Audi Q5 2008
Avoid diesel engine, na die.
Major problem, electrical problem
Engine stalling, too much speed will cause engine combustion, now it can make ur bonnet pull while on motion, thousands were recalled but u know na, some go still enter 9ja, avoid it.

10. 2006 Mercedes Benz GL450:

Suspension problem,
Leaking steering racks
Battery drainage issue..

The major one is d suspension, the car is too heavy for the suspension Benz gave to it, causing d balloon to always leak, one Leg balloon, is around 900k, now imagine if d 4 spoil.

18. 2008 Mazda CX-7:

problems with the 2008 CX-7’s Variable Valve Timing (VVT) & timing chain failing, causing major damage to the engine — Mazda uses an interference design so typically the valves are bent & the entire engine needs to be replaced.

The brake pads wear out easily.

This one is fuel pump, and it’s always caused by stalled engine pressure, u will start and it will start shaking like person wey get warapa, once pressure no dey, fuel pump go suck everything wey dey inside and dirty must dey…so avoid it.

The 24th car on the list of cars you should never buy is the Subaru Legacy
See this one, they were so unfortunate to make it all electric, u can drive it in manual, u see that manual switch is near d drive column, so by mistake if u put ham for manual and u drive it like That without changing the gear…gbèsè dey, gear box na 570k.

Hi all, I recently worked on my Honda accordd 2001 Euro Model, the car gear got locked and refused to go back to pack, then i called a mechanic to help me fix it. After all he said he needed to buy something called gear key which i gave him money to purchase.
After fixing it, the gear was free, but then i noticed that when i put it in reverse, each time i pedal the acceleration the car jerks and comes with a sound (Gbi), but this only happens when the car is getting idle.
Also when i put it on drive mode, i get same continous jerking until the gear changes.

Note: This wasn't happening before the gear got locked, but the sound (Gbi) occurs faintly because of the back engine seat which has wornout.
Note: The car is automatic.

Have anybody experience same thing?
I want to fix the issue but can't rely on these mechanics to do try luck.

Thanks house, the vehicle has been fixed. What happened was that one nozzle was bad and immediately it was changed, everything became normal.

Lol! ...but that same nozzle was working before you went to soak your engine in soapy water.

My car kept stalling in traffic. So I scanned but no code. Kazeem advised I change my fuel pump which I did. But I almost ran a bike over because the vehicle kept stalling and loosing break function after the fuel pump change.

I scanned the 5th time and got the P1009 code: dirty oil, Vtc strainer and solenoid. But I just serviced this car last week!!!

Kazeem checked again and advised work on the nozzle and throttle body but I insisted he work with the p1009 code.

After cleaning vtc solenoid, vtc strainer and changing the oil and filter all over again but my car still stalls when i slow down from 100km/h to 20km/h.

Gurus please what else can I do?

Did you replace fuel pump with a brand new one? If yes, how about the strainer filter at the base of the fuel pump?

Pls house, I washed the engine of my Toyota Highlander and it's vibrating and dragging, not moving as fast as it was prior to washing. My mechanic has changed the plugs and checked the coils but the problem persists. Kindly advise me pls. God bless you.

No need to para and waste money. run that engine for longer periods so the heat can evaporate all the water and things will get back to normal.

Next time don't use water to wash your engine. Use steam instead.

1. corolla is a thief 1st choice, robber magnet and vandals easy cash in. The vibe is not favored by them

2. pontiac body parts are expensive than corolla

3. the corolla is a sedan while the vibe is an hatchback

4. year for year the vibe should be a better drivers car than corolla it comes standard in majority with rear disc, 4WD, sporty look and good drag coefficient.

Hello car gurus, pls I noticed of recent a consistent vibration & shaking including regular drop of water in the radiator reservoir of my 2003 Toyota highlander the moment I start the car. my electrician however checked the coil & the plugs but said all is well with the electrical system. my mechanic however said the 'indomie' in the exhaust is bad & will have to be worked on. He also said the gasket will have to be replaced & the valves will be checked incase any one is bad for replacement

There is absolutely no need to open up your car's engine yet.

So many things can lead to car vibration but this one you included coolant level drop in the equation, you would need a level headed technician to carefully troubleshoot the vehicle so that you don't end up having your cart before the horse.

If this car was in my workshop, I would first plug in a scanner to monitor the workings of the plugs coils and then the injector nozzles. In a case where all is fine with the above listed, I would beam my searchlight towards the coolant level drop issue and hope to find an external leak. I just hope the leak isn't internal cos that would mean a blown head gasket, allowing coolant to sip into 1 or 2 of the cylinders.

Please Masters, I need help for my V6 Toyota Camry 2007 (spider) , I went on a 2-hour journey, suddenly, I notice my car jerked a little and then moved fine again. Then It started slowing down and making a loud howling noise and also the RPM shoots to 5/6, but car is not moving. At a point It came to a final stop. There are people in PH that can help you scan your car and give you pinpoint diagnosis. all the guess work I am seeing here will make you throw away money.

I wanted to ask you about tyres and rims. I got a Toyota Corolla 2007. The car came with new Michelin tyre specs of 195/ 65R 15.

I want to get new rims that can accommodate tyres of 195/ 65R 15 and 205/ 65R 15, such that I am at liberty to safely use either 195 or 205 tyres.

What rim size do you recommend that can fit 195 and 205 tyres? I hope there are such rims?

No need for new rims. 205 tires will fit in the rims you already have.

My opinion - 4G are great engines, but they are too old and outdated.

The 4g63 engines are not usually GDI.

There is very little difference between both grades of engine oils. 5w30 should serve you better in a car that was built 12 years ago.

Hello everyone! it's a bit of a long epistle but please give it a read and help me, if possible!

I drive an '03 Ford Focus. It has been quite trouble free with only routine maintenance for the last few years. However since December, I have been having these weird episodes of the car threatening to overheat, especially in extended traffic jams( doesn't usually matter the time, though middays are particularly troublesome). However, the car's temp will stabilize as soon as I turn on the air conditioning.

I first traced the problem to a dodgy primary cooling fan. I changed the fan, and the problem seemed to go away, temporarily.

It was then apparent that my expansion tank had a crack in it. It wasn't too big, but then I believed it would be enough to mess up the pressure of my cooling system (my car does not have a radiator cap,) I then sought another expansion tank from my mechanic.

After searching for an extended period however, he could not find the exact type of expansion tank. He however found a smaller one that fit quite well. The problem, however, never really went away- although it was a bit better.

Things however came to a head last week as my temperature needle quickly settled in the red on my way to work. I pulled over, and whiles the coolant hadn't boiled, the hose leading to my thermostat housing had expanded to more than twice its size. I quickly removed the thermostat on the side of the road and made it to work

I automatically assumed my thermostat had failed closed, thus solving my mystery. Boy, was I wrong.

Three days later in extreme rush hour traffic, I caught the temp needle inching away from it's normal midpoint to the red...I quickly turned on the air conditioning and the needle quickly fled to it's point at the center. Sigh. The problem was back! When I got home and checked, the pipe leading to the thermostat housing had expanded once again.

I have multiple suspicions, highest of which is the smaller expansion tank. I believe it has affected the pressure of the entire cooling system. I will add pictures of the old and new tanks so yalls can be the judge.

Could it also be that my head gasket is going? I haven't really given this much of thought as the signs (oil in coolant/ vice versa,) are not noticable. however I do have to fill coolant every week or so (noticed thermostat housing is leaking as well).

Thanks for reading this far and not dying of boredom (or disappointing election results). Please help a brother!
