I am looking at 2007 Nissan Xterra but not sure if it is rugged enough. I use a mazda tribute 2003 model right now and it survives the road very well but it is not 4WD

The 05 - 07 extera is a good choice but make sure to install an external tranny oil cooler, else you would have tranny isssues. Asides that, the Nissan exterra is a ride I love.

My second choice is the 03 - 06 toyota 4runner.

Changing the plugs is precautionary as a mixture of oil and water due to a blown head gasket might have fouled them. It might not be too necessary to change plugs in ur case.

Replace ur head gasket, change engine oil and spark plugs and ur good to go.

Washing your engine can more of the time make it sound like a misfire (like some plugs not working) than making it sound like the exhaust is blown. This is where your getting us confused.

OP, scan the vehicle as you have been advised. It is very likely you bought a defective tranny

When you say 'ceased' do you mean 'seize'? Does it bind and refuses to move at all or just falls out of gear?



I keep saying this, friction disk (called fiber locally) failure is only symptomatic, just like headache. Friction disks don't just burn. If a vehicle has stock calibration, only two things would burn frictions - low pressure (not enough to keep the clutch applied) and cross leak (leakage into a clutch circuit, causing it to apply when not required, albeit weakly). If you do not cure these, you change your frictions in vain, as they will burn out again in a matter of days, depending on the severity of the problem.

Your transmissions slips when heated up. Its a fault with your tranny fibres. Pls, first run a scan on ur vehicle. Don't do guess work.

Please house,I have a utility vehicle (hyundai H1 2010).I was moving on the highway when the bus suddenly lost power and started smoking,I looked for the nearest KAZEEM to help me check it and we found out that plug no 1 is soaked with oil,we tried cleaning and replacing it but it happened immediately again with the vehicle was having a rough idle,he later concluded that the rings could have been broken in the engine.i tried making enquiries about another tokunbo engine at ladipo and I was told its 750,000 to 800,000 which is too much for me now?pls is it possible or advisable to ring hyundai engine and not have issues while using it?.

Diagnose no further, that particular piston is cracked or it cld just be the head gasket. I guess you allowed the engine rev too high probably while in a low gear.

You don't have to spend that much on another engine. Just get another piston and replace the damaged one, replace the head gasket and you will be fine.
