Solomon227:I have my legs on either sides of Nigeria and Ghana. Yet I do not see it feat to call for Nigeria/Ghana confederation. If IBB’s election will bring an end to Nigeria the way we know it, I say it could not be sooner. Again, if GEJ runs as presidential candidate of PDP against the backdrop of the party’s zoning formula as entrenched in the constitution, he is more poisonous than IBB. |
seanet02:You are very clownish and hilarious. Are you still daydreaming with the idea that southwestern regional block vote is consequential in scheme of things in Nigeria? If GEJ hedges his hope on southwest region’s vote, he will surely regret such political endeavor. I guess you are disingenuously forgetful about political events in the jungle called Nigeria. Yoruba people do not and have never voted for any candidate who is not a Yoruba stock. By the way, 1999 Nigerian presidential election proved the block vote of Yoruba remains apparently inconsequential. However, when it comes to indulging in political turncoat, I shall ever queue with my pals from the southwest of Nigeria. I remembered when AD was a contender as a political party. Can any person wonder what happened to AD after the son of soil was elevated to the position of Nigerian presidency? I guess you remembered which political candidate received your vote in 1999. |
Solomon227:I am not ashamed to broadcast the fact that thinking of how to elevate Nigeria to greatness does not cross my mind. My prayers were centered on the well-being of anything that could lead to the disintegration of Nigeria. Biafra or Republic of Igboland, I am for it. Also, I shall support any form of confederation which will consist of Ibibio, Annang and Ogoni. If it is divine for GEJ to lead Nigeria through 2015, I must not fail to remind his supporters that it should be a work of divinity he will be swept out of office through a coup. I have no respect for any person in power that flouts common rules. GEJ will get my vote if he runs under another party instead of PDP. |
Solomon227:I will not only vote against Goodluck Ebelechukwu Azikiwe Jonathan but do everything within my powers to see him crash if he contests 2011 presidential election under PDP banner. If GEJ can not observe the dictates of his party constitution as entrenched under section 7-2C, I suggest he has no business leading democratic bunch. I do not give a fig about IBB ambition. If PDP produces him as zoning formula of the party guarantees, I say so be it. I repeatedly begged Ndigbo to steer clear of Nigeria and its leadership image of imbecility. Nigeria can shove 2015 through its arse I really do not care. All I ask for about Nigeria is disintegration of the colonial cesspit. |
naijaking1:Bros, I can not believe these loudmouthed sons of backstabbers and inherent cowards still have the audacious pedigree to talk about northern region of Nigeria in disdainful manner. They are not getting smart but making themselves look as spiteful fools. |
It is amazing most of the fools just woke up from deep political slumber, including Goodluck Jonathan, who seemed to flirt with idea of dislike for northern region of Nigeria had failed to ask why did their fathers, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters went to bed with northern Nigerian politicians and soldiers in 1967. True federalism, resource control, revenue derivation, electricity, removal of quota systems and meritorious services were cornerstones of eastern region agitation in 1966. I now believe pig will always beget pig. Campaign based on loud noise is bound to crash. |
seanet02:I guess fools such you who embark on ranting of ant usually go chilly penury by thinking VAT and Crude Oil are cultivatable products. ![]() |
seanet02:This is an avoidable display of literary stupidity. I never knew cocoa and crude oil are exclusively owned by the southwest and Niger Delta of Nigeria respectively. I suggest a reasonable adult should snatch the keyboard away from you before you open another avenue of social denigration of Nigeria. What a loudmouthed dullard. As far I am concerned, the so-called Niger Delta is of no use to me. At least, the northern region of Nigeria can boast of regular supply of livestock, onions, fruits, beans and, even rice. |
honeric01:Does it occur to you sometimes to realize that rigorous means of schooling from kindergarten to secondary grades even university are provided on government scholarship by the countries in Europe, North America and Asia? In Nigeria, most parents of these kids can not afford elementary school grade fees and Nigerian government does not give a hoot. |
olas2u:I wish over-fed and loudmouthed southerners such as you will take a very good study of the jungle called Nigeria and draw intelligible conclusion as which part of the country cultivates, processes and provides certain goods. I can not recall which finished product the so-called Niger Delta cultivates. Oh!!!!!!!! I take that back, I guess the so-called Niger Delta cultivates crude oil. ![]() |
seanet02:I doubt if you receive any form of education. Crude Oil may have been struck or drilled in a geographical entity known as southern Nigeria and particularly the so-called Niger Delta but Niger Delta does not produce crude oil. Crude oil is a natural endowment that could be found in certain areas of the world. The only finish product certain area of the so-called Niger Delta can supply is smoked fish. Ignorance is really a disease. |
olas2u:This is an arrant nonsense and silly statement born out of stack ignorance. The so-called south-south political zone does not produce any tangible product which supports the economy of the cesspit called Nigeria. Crude oil is not produced by the so-called south-south but a natural endowment to a geographical expression known and referred as Nigeria. When crude oil exploration stated about 1948 in Southern Protectorate, loudmouths such Edwin Clarke could not put their money where their putrid mouths mess today. |
KnowAll:Granted infantry section of the Armed forces holds the bridgeheads, any branch of the military can initiate a coup d’état. All it takes is charismatic officer with skills to convince other fellow officers to buy into idea of coup. Even your handle name could not hide you ignorance when military matters are paramount. The only things or group of persons that could foil a coup are unwilling would-be participants, paranoid leaders, size of the armed forces, training and doctrine, military intelligence and level of advancement of the society. GOC of infantry divisions could not even discourage a coup if the Brigade commanders agreed to participate. Jerry Rawlings of Ghana was an Air force Flight Lieutenant (Captain as an Infantry) and yet he engineered a coup not once but twice. |
Safariman: Did we know which side he fought for during the civil war or he was not in the force then?I do not think Maj Gen. Ihiejirika fought on the Nigerian side. If ever he was old enough to join the military, my bet will be with Biafra. If he was commissioned in 1977 as a regular combatant soldier, he may have joined NDA in 1975. I contemplated on the faith of kinds who made the course intake of 17th regular and 21st short service in 1976. |
I have to say it have been a sad day perusing disingenuously luring and error-filled articles about the appointment of COAS. It is even a shameful exercise on the part of the authors in attempt to compare COAS to the position held by Ironsi as the GOC of the Nigerian armed forces. All these mockery endeavors to make Ndigbo fall into a shallow pit of euphoria stem from unforgettable backstabs the forbearers of these hack writers gave to Ndigbo in 1966. Any Igbo person who falls for this political gimmick and unwanted salute from these vultures is an irredeemable fool. The position of Ironsi as GOC of Nigeria armed forces can correctly be equated with the position of CDS (Chief of Defense Staff) which another Igbo chap is vacating. I guess it is unqualified ignorance that brought out these hack writers to paint the appointment of Maj Gen Ihiejirika red-rosy because the appointment was made by supposedly an Ijo that swelled the ranks of the southern Nigerians who joined the northern region in fight against Ndigbo 1967. I guess the appointment of Dike to the position of CDS (Chief of Defense Staff) does not fly because it was made by a northerner. It is an insult to Ironsi, Nidgbo and military parlance to equate the position of COAS to GOC of Nigerian armed forces. By the way, when Ironsi was the GOC of Nigerian armed forces there were positions of Army Chief of Staff and Naval Chief Staff including IG of police. |
I had rather vote for someone who refused to appear before a constituted panel than vote for someone who is inherently a backstabber, butt-licker, biter of the finger that fed him/her and no respecter of any constitution. If Goodluck Jonathan runs as a PDP candidate against the backdrop of section 7-2C of the party’s constitution, he is doubly qualified as all the adjectival clauses on this post. |
9ijaMan:Bro, it could not have been written better than your piece. If Nigerians can not observe mere statutory code or even cultural organization bylaws, how on earth can they practice democracy? It is unfathomable how Goodluck Jonathan can conduct fair and free election when he is a contestant. Believe me; it amounts to embarrassing political naïveté for a person to insinuate such nonsense. |
Granted Ikengawo is poor by all aspect of the word so I would not request him/her to attempt to purchase a plot of land in Lagos. He or she must be extremely lucky to accomplish such a task even with a truck load of money because of his/her ethnicity. If virtues had to give way to stupidity and chaos takes the place of peace in Nigeria, I bet Ikengawo would be among the escapees trekking back to his/her ethnic domain. It is pure delusional for anybody to forget the composition of the society he/she belongs. |
I pity Nigeria as a country and pray it comes to an end quickly. Also, I must say that any Igbo extraction who is rejoicing due to the appointment of Igbo officer of Nigerian armed forces as chief of army staff is an indelible fool. The same inglorious indictment should be handed to hacks and feel-happy journalists who had remote agenda of political treachery in attempt to equate the position held by Ironsi to the position of COAS. Ironsi’s position of GOC of the Nigerian Armed Forces could be likened to the position of CDS which an Igbo son had already held. It must be recall when Ironsi was GOC of the Nigerian Armed forces; there were service chiefs such army chief of staff and naval chief of staff including IG of police. I wonder why an appointment of Dike as CDS did not generate this hot air. I guess it was probably an appointment made by northerner but a snitch from southern Nigeria. |
If Goodluck Jonathan is not the problem, how are the service chiefs and IG of Police turned out to be the problem? Goodluck Jonathan was in position of executive power before some of the service chiefs and IG of police were appointed. What did Goodluck Jonathan do to mitigate the problems facing Nigerians from his position as teacher, Custom Officer, Deputy Governor, Governor, Vice President and President? If Goodluck Jonathan runs for presidency of Nigeria under PDP platform, I deduce that he single-handedly destroyed Nigerian teething democracy. In qualified countries, not geographical expression such as Nigeria, an person of authority caught J-walking (crossing the road in violation of traffic rules) can not contest city council election talk less of governor after he/she had flouted party’s constitution. |
When a joker is the leader of bunch of fools, as in the case of Nigeria and its leadership, does it matter if Nigerian citizens are molested and harassed by the government operatives in Ghana or elsewhere? |
I stated that Alaigbo stretched from Gakem to Igwe Ocha/Igwe Nga and Abaomega to Agbor. I stand firmly with idea of Republic of Igboland. Also, I would never object to any confederacy which will include Ibibio, Annang, Ogoni or even Ijo of eastern region. Ndigbo must not fail to understand that Ibibio, Annang and Ogoni are also suffering the same faith as Ndigbo due to the defeat of Biafra. Please Ndi Nwe Madu, there is no “core Igbo” or “peripheral Igbo”. Few classifications of Ndigbo on the on-going debate could not be more wrong than correct. There were Isuama (Oru) and Urratta Igbo. Even the 14th Century Europeans that visited the Rio Real referred to Urratta Igbo as “Haoukaeboes”. Actually Urratta, Asa, Ndoki, Ikwerre and Eche were brothers. The terminology Ngwangwa and Ohuhu came about during migratory sequences of these people. While a certain group was able to hurriedly boil food and crossed a stream before it developed into River, the other group was roasting their yams, hence Ohuhu. Again, Urratta, Asa, Ndoki, Ikwerre and Eche are not the full names of these people. It is unfortunate and ridiculous at best that those yarning for certain ethnic nationality out of Igbo do not know the actual name of the so-called nationality. |
The individuals who gave rise to the kingships in Okirika, Elem kalabari, Bile and Ubani were Ndigbo. I do not understand the sentiments that formed the opinion that Igbo did not trade with Europeans. Again, according Esmeraldo de situ orbis accounts in 1499, the people of river in Rio Real were referred as Jos which gave rise to Ijo. I shall say unequivocally that if there should be disintegration of Nigeria through war, Alaigbo ‘s access to the Atlantic ocean can not be negotiable as Ubani, Igwe Nga and Igwe Ocha are both contiguous and non-contiguous Igbo land. Any person or group of persons who think otherwise had to face the brunt of Igbo military might. |
Katsumoto:Granted I never believed the issue of death by asthmatic attack, the same goes to dubious reports of January 15, 1966 by the Special Branch of Nigerian Police and its cohorts of British officers and journalists. |
Ibime: Don't mind Ezeuche and others talking about pushing people into the sea. When was the last time any Igbo tribe/nation/clan or village won a war against external force? If the British hadn't told em they were one people, their clans would continue being pillaged by Ijaw and Benin peoples. HehehehheheheI have read conjectural load of rubbish from this forum. I must say without equivocation that Ibime’s above post is the height of scurrilous diatribe on Ndigbo. By the fifteenth century as recorded by the Europeans, the only indigenous ironsmiths were Ndigbo from Isiokpo, Nkwerre, Okigwe and Oka. Even the copper money used for exchange of goods and services in Rio Real was supplied by Isiokpo coppersmiths. Again, Ijo was never recorded as ethnic group until Jos, for people of the river, was changed to Ijo. It is very funny when people get drunk on fallacies. The Kings from Agbaniye Ejike, Kamalu, Okpara Ndoli, Jaja, Okpara Owerre Dada, Okpara Azumini to Okpara Edimini (Mba ka Mba) were Igbo. |
I can not fathom what in the hell prompted any Igbo person to insinuate Ijo was denied any opportunity in Eastern Region. Talk about scholarship awards and right to represent eastern region of Nigeria, Ijo got more than its fair share. George Korubo was the first eastern region candidate to be nominated for training at RMA Sandhurst, UK. He was followed by individuals such as Nelson Soroh. An Ijo was the minister of Justice and Attorney General of the region. All the best secondary schools in eastern region such Government College, Umuahia, Afikpo, Owerri and Holy Ghost College, Owerri were headed by Ijo. These nonsensical accusations of denial of opportunities in eastern region by these Ijo backstabbers were induced into their memories through ridiculous propagandas mounted by Northern and Western regional politicians. I guess today they must have found out the truth. Other than Ibibio, Ogoni, Atama/Ekoi and Annang, I would not mind a country formed within the contiguous Alaigbo. |
