PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m):
rawtruth: The well-captioned topic has, not surprisingly, been hijacked by those who have refused to see the difference between yesterday and today. For the likes of Dede1, there is neither history nor future; everything remains as it was since 1966. Although there is nothing wrong with 'wincing' at bitter memories of the past, there is something wrong with obsession with such bitter memories.

The ongoing genocide against Christians in central Nigeria is a continuation of the 'campaign' that had declined with the arrival of British colonialists. While the precolonial 'phase' was more concerned with religious conversions than with economic gains, the reverse is the case presently. Having indiscriminately grazed and destroyed the vast grazing fields in the core north, which accelerated desertification at an unusual speed, the fulanis have turned their attention to the remaining grassland in central Nigeria, where the indigenous communities are mostly farmers, and Christians. With no strong regulation to control animal breeding, as is done elsewhere, fulanis believe they have the right to graze wherever they want. For them, land belongs to all and must be used by all without demarcation-A philosophy that is contrived, obviously, to serve specific purposes.

Fulanis have well-educated individuals in almost all fields of human endeavours, they also have super-rich businessmen/politicians with the means and political influences to educate and assist their cattle-herding brethren to buy land and establish ranches for more productive and secured animal breeding. It is surprising that their elites pretend not to be aware of the fact that human rights are different from animal rights, and that increasing population and its attendant demand on land for more food production makes nomadic animal grazing impracticable in today's world.

While govt presently occupies itself with the threat of boko haram insurgency, fulanis are busy importing mercenaries from, Chad, Mali, Niger Republic e.t.c., into central Nigeria to massacre the "recalcitrant" tribes of the region. The success of Arab militia, the "supporter of APC", in Darfur, Sudan, against black African tribesmen of that country must have encouraged the Nigerian fulanis to embark on the same 'project'. I foresee a soon-heavily-armed central Nigeria tribesmen engaging its fulani invaders in one of the most blood-spilling orgies in Nigeria in recent times. The Danjumas can't dictate how this scenario is going to unfold.
The above post is balderdash written out of ignorance. My grandpa says “he\she who does not understand the point where the rain started beating him\her will never know where the rain stopped”. You have written like deceitful fellow who would want to eat his\her cake and have it.

Again, I had to reiterate the fact that the so-called middle belt people did not understand the nuances of genocide. If you claim the genocidal campaign started before the arrival of British colonialists, one wonders why the same middle belt people joined efforts to perpetrate the genocide of 1966 in northern region of Nigeria. If this your misguided philosophical ranting was in vogue in 1966, I bet there would not have been the killing of easterners, staunchly regarded Christians by Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri, in northern region by 1966 talk less a war in Nigeria.

Where were the so-called middle belt people when Major Gen Zamanni Lekwot was arrested and sentenced to death by Abacha’s regime for the alleged Lekwot’s involvement in assisting Ndigbo during such senseless religious riots in northern region of Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m):
sammyzacks: Bros cool down. You seem to be partionate about a cause that is unreal. The present Igboland lacks unity and political cohesion like the hausas or the yorubas. The reality on ground is that igbos are spread all over the north suffering the same plight with these northern Christians that you so much hate. whether you like it or not jihad sees both the igbo and the tiv as infidels. Dont be foolish to celebrate the killing of christians in the north because your own brothers are victims too.the present reality in nigeria is different from what obtained in 1966. I am even tempted to think that you are just a local champion that has not even travelled round nigeria.
The above conjectural crap is an example of the genesis of Nigeria backwardness. It is an act of idiocy for anybody to publicly claims that Ndigbo "lacked unity and political cohesion like the hausas or the yorubas".

One wonders why the same more politically cohesive and united Hausas and Yoruba had to call government policies such as federal character and quota system to checkmate those who are less cohesive and united. If sectional or tribal politics seen in Nigeria is regarded as being cohesive by you, Ndigbo are very republican and individuals think for themselves.

Again, it is a display of unimaginable imbecility on your part to think that Dede1 remotely celebrates the madness or killing of Christians in northern region. May I remind you that killing of Christians in northern region did not start yesterday? However, some moronic dingbats such as you had regarded the heinous crimes as Igbo affairs. Even today, some numbskulls in certain quarters are busy writing that Boka Haram is killing Ndigbo in northern region of Nigeria.

If you just woke to realize that what started since 1945 is no longer Igbo affairs but Christian issue in northern region, then I must say you have been in a deep slumber and good morning.
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m):
sammyzacks: The new generation of ignorant igbos are too blinded by hate as to see the light.but I tell you, if the igbos do not learn to go into alliance with the middle belt or the niger delta, their future is still doomed. If the hausa ever succeed in enslaving the northern Christians then even igboland will not be free.
If I say you are very foolish, you should regard it as compliment. If cesspit called Nigeria is to disintegrate now, I shall sue for Republic of Igbo land. Any form of corporation with any nation state should be strictly on strategic importance and cultural affinity. I do not know any form of alliance without it, Ndigbo are doomed in future according to the figment of your imagination.

To the best of my knowledge, Ndigbo have survived for the ages without any idiotic alliance with either none existence Niger delta or inconsequential middle belt.

rawtruth: You aren't much for details, are you? Lt, col Pam was not Tiv. Don't come here twisting history. And, with regards to one of your earlier comment, no Igbo person was 'dragged out of their houses" and killed by the Tivs in 1966. Go do some research. There might be Igbos still living who lived in Tiv areas before the war started, you can find out from them. I'm sure you were either too young to know anything, or still a primordial spirit-seed in the spirit realm at the time of those crises.
Whether Lt Col James Pam was a Tiv or Berom, what difference does it make now? In my book, they are all Middle Belt and Christians for issue in discussion.
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m):
rawtruth: Quote: "igbos became scapegoats and were now on the receiving end with their people killed by even Tivs who some few months were rioting against northern domination"

Unquote: The Tivs never took part in the killing of Igbos in the north, go and check your records properly. If you are talking about the civil war then all the tribes were involved.

On the other hand, I quite appreciate the points you have made concerning the attitude of the so-called leaders of the Middle-Belt. The fulanis have turned the region into a killing field with no one deeming it fit to utter a word! One would have thought the death of the Senator and state assembly member from Plateau provided enough reason for some serious attention to this fulani/farmers crises across the region, but alas! the usual naive responses made up of 'mumbling voices' remain the norm. The likes of Danjuma don't speak against the fulani Caliphate which they helped to make more powerful with the blood of young men of central Nigeria during and after the civil war; probably because of the fear that they would lose their individual relevance in the affairs of this country if they break away from the so-called Monolithic North. Thus, your sarcasm is well grounded.
I can reel off Tiv who were involved in killing of Igbo\eastern officers and civilians in 1966. Most of them are still alive today. Be mindful that the war started in 1967. I am talking about 1966. If the Tiv, Idoma, Igala were not involved in the killing of Ndigbo and easterners in 1966, what did they do? They just stoodby and watched as their fellow Christians were killed by the Muslim northerners.

Maj T Danjuma, Captain Domkat Bali, Lt John Onoja, Lt Nwadkon Pam, Lt Nuhu Nathan, Lt William Walbe mastered minded the killing of easterners in Abeokwuta.

If you say that Middle Belt Christians were political naïve in 1966, it could be an acceptable alibi but to say that Tiv, Idoma and Igala were not involved in the massacre of Ndigbo and easterners in 1966 amounts to insult.

Looking back, maybe Anuforo would have just let Bello wipe out those good for nothing-ungrateful-cowering-opportunistic middle belters. What good is your life if tuth never comes out of your mouthhuh
I am not worried about the lapper who seemed to have too much to drink but Ndigbo who are bent on delusional drunkenness that blinded Igbo soldiers in Nigerian armed forces of 1960. If Lt Col Jam Pam, a Tiv, did not mind annihilating his people on the orders of Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa, why should Maj C Anuforo mind?

QreatifDave: We are not discussing the unfortunate events of the past that truly cost Igbos. It is regrettable. Our major concern here is that history does not repeat itself on other people, in this case, Christians in North Central Nigeria, or for that matter, any other people in Nigeria. Just because your father die, doesn't make it right for you to wish everybody's father dead, does it?
It is unfortunate you failed to see the parallel I drew with the events popularly known as 1964 Tiv riot and how the Tiv, Idoma and Igala turned around to join northern Muslims, mostly Fulani, Hausa and Kanuri, to perpetrate the heinous crime against Ndigbo and easterners in 1966. In fact, the reasons that spurred January 15, 1966 coup included what is taking place in northern region today. Where were the so-called Middle Belt people when easterners were dragged out from their houses and killed in northern region of Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m): 7:42pm On Apr 06, 2013
QreatifDave: . Wow. Gowon was not chief of Army Staff in Ironsi's government. When the coup took place, he just returned from military training abroad. There were officers more senior than him. Eg. Col Pam & Brigadier Maimalari. Why should he be COA? Danjuma was not Ironsi's ADC, LtSani Bello was. You got that wrong. This discussion is about drawing attention of the public to the possibility of genocide against Christians in some North Central States. I think we've gotten your attention, otherwise you won't be in this discussion.
Gowon was the Nigerian army chief of Staff under Ironsi's governemnt. Lt Col James Pam and Brigadier Maimalari were Adjutant-General and Brigade Commander respectively under Tafawa Balewa government.
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m): 7:37pm On Apr 06, 2013
QreatifDave: These soldiers you listed were not fighting against Igbos. They were fighting for Nigeria - against Biafra. Make that distinction, sir.
Again, I think we are talking about genocide, thus, the unprovoked and wanton killing of soldiers and civilians of eastern region origins in northern and western regions of Nigeria by soldiers and civilians from northern region of Nigeria. There was genocide before the war. I am not talking about war. The so-called Christian Middle Belt people chose to fight the war on the Nigeria side and became enemies of Ndigbo and Biafrans. Such endeavor is now a historical fact.
PoliticsRe: Are Christians In North Central Nigeria Facing The Threat Of Genocide? by Dede1(m):
QreatifDave: Dede1, Middle Beltan people didn't commit genocide against any people in 1966. The Nigerian Army fought a civil war with the defunct Biafran army. The Christian people of North Central Nigeria who fought on the Nigerian side, weren't fighting for the Middle Belt against fellow Biafran Christians; they fought for Nigerian. And NO, sir, it is not idiotic to advocate for the rights of a people oppressed. On the contrary, it is the right thing to do if you're a man/woman of good conscience.
Major C. Anuforo, may his soul rest in peace, solemnly swore to kill Lt Col James Pam because Pam led the Nigerian soldiers that annihilated the Tiv, Idoma and Igala people during 1964 riot on the orders of Sarduana of Sokoto. When 2nd Racce under the command of Maj Anuforo was sent to finish what Pam started, he refused to arrest any Tiv, Idoma or Igala fellow but arrest every Fulani and Hausa Muslims sent by NPC and Bello to cause trouble in Middle Belt. Due to face to face altercation with Bello over the arrest of NPC supporters instead of UMBC under J S Tarka, Bello sought for his removal as 2nd Racce commander.

It was not surprise that JS Tarka, a Tiv and leader of UMBC, was contracted by Mobile Corporation to come to USA and campaign against Biafrans in front of American public that seemed to have developed soft spot for Biafrans.

No fewer than 41 kidnap suspects have been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command during the last six months. Also, 138 suspected cultists and 45 pipeline vandals were rounded up and charged to court.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, who gave the figures while briefing reporters in Port Harcourt, said the command had worked tirelessly to reduce the spate of crime in the state.

He decried the infiltration of criminals from the neighbouring Abia State. He noted that over 90 per cent of the crimes in Oyigbo, Etche and Eberi Omuma areas of the state were committed by suspects from Abia State.

Almost 90 per cent of the crimes committed in Eberi Omuma, Etche, Oyigbo and Afam are coming from Abia State. I must tell you we’re living up to the challenges. In the last two months, no less than 20 hardened Abia based criminals have been arrested by the command,” he said.

He alleged that the suspects had been handed over to Abia State Police Command for prosecution.
The Commissioner, who pledged his commitment to reduce the crime rate in the state by improving on the response time to distress calls, urged the public to co-operate with the command by giving meaningful information that would lead to the arrest of suspected criminals in the state.

Speaking on the major challenges of the command, he urged the public to be confident in the police, especially when giving useful information. The commissioner said the attitude of his men towards work had been of great challenge, urging them to shun corruption. He said he had not been threatened or influenced by any VIP in the state and pledged to perform better with the help of the state government and the public.

Abagworo: the cause of abias crisis is neither orji nor orji but the soul of thousands of innocent people killed during the bakassi era between 1998 and 2002.because aba is a less important town, people might not be aware that more than 30000 people were murdered in cold blood by bakassi.the militants of today were those 10 year old kids that gathered around to watch bakassi slaughter people.a sizeable number of them were also invoved in niger delta militancy.the only thing that can rescue abia is prayers.are nairalanders aware that 80% of pipeline sabotage in nigeria was done in aba axis alone?80% of kidnappings and robberies(mostly unreported occur in thesame zone).i normally went for shopping in aba but is yet to step into aba since 2008 because of security.i rather pay high price in port harcourt.
Granted you have tendencies to bounce off the wall, I urge to show tacit in vociferation. When any government looks on people with considerable of contempt by laying crude oil pipeline from point of source to the point apparent nepotism, it brings the bad shape of human nature from people seemingly cheated.

Nigeria government should thank its gods that most Nigerians are politically naïve. If Nigeria is a European country and there is no adequate economic reason to construct pipeline from point of source to point of nepotistic interest, the pipelines would have blown to pieces by now.

Africans tend to dwell on symptoms but the cause of the symptoms.
