debosky:You have not paid for the initial licensing fee of the name yet. But why are you humbling me in this manner after all the grammatical exercises we saw through. Remember we discussed prepositional issues and words not conforming to written grammar. Anyway, I disagree with you on the contention that Nigeria should not select another area to develop. The city may not be nation’s capital city but comparable to Lagos or Abuja in terms of infrastructures fully funded by the federal government. |
The problem of most Nigerian men encounter is the idea of sticking with one regimental exercise of mounting women. Other exercises like running, riding bicycles, playing tennis and visiting the gym should be encouraged. |
@debosky If there is any ewu in this discourse it has turned out to be you. I usually do not care how individuals express themselves on the Internet as long as the individuals do not find it fit to denigrate other users of the Internet bandwidth. I hope you could shade all forms of silliness from your manners. You can use the expressions such as “be on the notice”, “be on a notice” and “be on notice”. Believe you me, there is nothing redundant in the usage of ward – the. Not long ago somebody posted the below statements: "The alarming frequency of these errors worry me. You are severely lacking in many areas of the use of English, if (seemingly) well versed in verb - noun interactions". Look ewu, there are many instances of these jargons that you have left floating freely on this forum but unlike you, I am not bent on searching Internet for typographical errors as most of our postings are done on the fly. It is funny you have arrogated to yourself the duty of Internet police whose function is to make sure that young kids visiting the forum would get a good "grasp of English". Mr. Clarity, I hope you meant English Language? In another instance you have these: “One thing I will say is this - we are writing on an online forum - the rules of 'ending words with prepositions' and the like are secondary here. Speech here is highly informal (though informal should not mean grammatically incorrect like yours) and as such cannot be expected to meet every exacting requirement of the English language”. I could not believe that the above is coming from the man who invented grammar. How could you contained that the using “cannot”, which is not even a word in a written grammar, is an informal but a grammatical error. It is beyond my pale of comprehension that ending sentences with preposition is informal but grammatical error. I do not have time to dwell on people’s Internet drivels while looking for typographically errors or their style of writing as to conform to my personal thoughts as how a sentence would appear. As you have equally observed, I do not gravitate towards the area of ethnic disorder while in the course of banter unless when it is necessary to seek the help of recoded events. Bye for now, but it has been nice crossing words with you. |
udezue:Bros, I am still thinking what Ndigbo did wrong to the eastern minorities. I will never speak badly about the Ibibio, Ogoni, Kalabari and few Ijo from Bayelsa State. In fact, Ndigbo allowed the minorities to occupy important office positions in the then government eastern Nigeria and the trend continued during war. This scenario was not obtained neither in northern region nor western region of Nigeria. In the western region, Yoruba dominated and in the northern region the Fulani dominated. Even the old politicians I thought were Kanuri turned out to Fulani. Yet some of the eastern minorities would not waste time to hop onto the bed with northern Nigerian elites |
@Godman N How did you arrive at the conclusion that Biafra would not have worked? The Ojukwu’s special brigade that later metamorphosed into “S” Division was arguably the Biafran best fighting unit. The Division’s first GOC was Col Onwuatugwu and it was later commanded by Col V. Asoya. The Division was made up of 52, 60, 63 and 68 brigades. Bros, please read up |
@debosky Please be on the notice that it is my prerogative to use the adverbial clauses the way I deemed them fit. They may be in the form of negatively disappointed, positively disappointed, happily disappointed, sadly disappointed, deadly disappointed, harmfully disappointed, jokingly disappointed and disappointedly disappointed. The usage of these adverbial clauses does not have to meet the logical standards set by a utopian scholar. It is rather unfortunate that you have decided to harp on the statement about the “areas of achievement” than place emphasis on the context at which the statement was made. Let me draw your attention to this post: @ Oyb Fire on bro!! I dey your back sam sam! You have come across as a person who has well organized social orders above his/her shoulders and should remember the person who posted it. Should there be any doubt about whose interest you are representing in this debate? How can you sincerely inform that you did not find anything wrong with oyb’s post? It is not even funny that you further accessed his grammar to be within the confines of logic and clarity. Anybody who just signed off from binging spree would have detected oyb’s culpable balderdash for second class degree holder. The second class honor degree holder who does not know that “cannot” has no place in a written grammar tells the whole story about this issue of JAMB. Ayb is a holder of a bloated second class degree that has consistently ended his sentences with preposition. A demented interloper who has arrogated the sense of know-it-all to himself/herself and failed to realize that there is a big difference between “with regard to” and “as regards”. Please can someone help me why a graduate is still using “Lots of people” in a written grammar? The last time I checked though, lot is an empty space of land. Yet debosky claimed not to have noticed any discrepancies on the oyb’s posts. I guess it would be nice for someone who has audaciously accused the entire ethnic group of being arrogantly superior to also detect the inherent hatred coming from the other quarters. |
romeo:I did not know you have noticed the shameful disgrace the punk is bring onto the colonial contraception called Nigeria. If the punk is left to his/her grammatical capability, he could be arrested by Nigerian police for desecrating English language. |
oyb:How did you convince any school to award a second class degree in carpentry to you? Please punk, you need to disclose the school that awarded the bloated second class degree to you. In written grammar, you can not use “cannot” because it is not a word. Also, it is either a person uses “with regard to” or “as regards”. If all these shenanigans are your tricks to learn grammar, I would not teach you on pro bono. Baring typographical errors, you have once again proven that you are a compound dunce and a frustrated plagiarizer. |
@debosky There are no traces of pontification on my side as regards JAMB statistics. I can understand the motive in taking side with a person of your ethnic stock. It is fine with me because my statements whether they are explicitly or implicitly designed remain relevant to the discourse as pertaining to JAMB statistics. If an imbecilic simpleton can not construe that “all areas of achievement” is the same as “all areas of academic achievement” with regard to JAMB statistic, I can not help the slowpoke. The last time I check though, JAMB does not conduct examination for traders or carpenters but students hoping to add feathers in their academic pursuit. Internet is not the place to spoon feed individuals on the subject of grammar. Of course, insidiously is adverbial clause that lends a negative/harmful connotation and that is the spark behind its usage in qualifying my disappointment. I am completely flabbergasted due to your claim that there was nothing wrong with the post submitted by Olodo the oyb. I had to indulge the humility in you to peruse the jackass’s sketch once again. If you still can not find anything wrong with oyb’s literary construct, then there goes the entire ethnic group. By the way, the Ndigbo did not arrogate any form of superiority to them selves. In fact, the issue of this protracted grudge over the JAMB progressive report was initiated by the haters and detractors of Ndigbo. |
@debosky Another weird fellow has joined the gang of ignoramus but in this case this fellow seems to be open to correctional instructions. One of the cardinal sins in grammar is to use a verb to qualify another verb in the same sentence. Another sin is the inability of certain individuals to understand that a sentence conveys a thought. Having written the above sentences, I would want these posters to understand that the flair of grammar is tailored to the author’s or individual’s style of writing. It is unfortunate that you got twisted out of human form because of the adverbial clause – insidiously. However, I am of the view that you have come across the use of phrase – “deadly appointed” and this construct does not actually meant dead as in dying but to convey the degree of the disappointment Again, baring any form of ulterior motive to JAMB results, I wrote that “south-east region has maintained an overwhelmingly lead in all areas of academic achievement according to the official statistic from JAMB office”. I stand by my statement within the context of our discourse as it relates to JAMB. It is very funny to read posts after posts how individual filled with ethnic bias and hatred had attempted to commit suicide because JAMB published her progressive report. I bet you that all these loudmouthed nincompoops did not know that few kids of their ethnic root sat the JAMB in the south-east centers as the kids of Igbo extraction sat the JAMB examination in the centers located in south-west. Please help me out with the below post that was manifested by the second class degree holder – oyb. The post’s grammar is a cesspit and devoid of any logic. Plagiarizers are good at other individual’s literary work / by oyb |
@Ibi (The Swollen Scrotum) It is a known fact that birds of the same feather flock together. In case of you, Ibi, I am insidiously disappointed after we had brief period of English language exercise in the previous thread. I thought you would have upgraded your level of grammar but I guess the opposite is the case. You know as much you can grasp about the saying of bathing a pig. How could you support an impostor who thought that verb should be used to qualify another verb in the same sentence? For example, the dolt wanted “overwhelming lead” to be used in the construct of a sentence. Also, the fool who passes as the product of western Nigeria’s fee education program did not know that the word - medium is singular form of media as in the format of presenting information. |
oyb:You are beginning to show the sign of a lazy student. Every attempt you have made to convince the forum contributors that the bloated second class honor you have arrogated to your sorry arse as a legitimate achievement has met colossal failure. I must not fail to burst your bubble by letting you know that the idiotic sketch you have posted is what a professor of English language from developed countries would declare as “too wordy”. A loudmouthed dullard such as you would always fail a test of impromptu essay. It would be suicidal to assign the function of writing simple office memorandum to a jackass such as yourself. I think you are beginning to show your true character as a plagiarizer. It is always easier for dunces to dwell on another person’s literary work than to develop their work. However, it is very refreshing to see that you have finally fallen back on the use of punctuations. I guess my stumbling onto you has not been a total waste of my time. |
@oyb I do not visit this forum in order to teach grammar to a moronic nitwit like you. It appears you hardly understood the construct of my grammar. The few moment of my interaction with dunce of your caliber on this forum has amounted to a complete waste of my time since you have remained an undomesticated dog that refused to learn. |
It will take you another decade of tutoring ingrammar for an slowpoke like you to understand the accuracy of my writing style. Baring some typographic errors, my style of writing would occupy your attention for a half life. For example, I wrote: First: South-east region has maintained an overwhelmingly lead in all areas of achievement according to the official statistic from JAMB office. And punk lsuch as you wanted Second: South-east region has maintained an overwhelming lead in all areas of achievement according to the official statistic from JAMB office. Overwhelming is a verb. “A present participle of a verb known as Overwhelm”. Overwhelmingly is adverb. In the two sentences, the word lead is used as a verb I hope that you were taught in the university that you can not tweak meaning of a sentence by using a verb to qualify another verb. However, you can use adverbial clause to qualify a verb thereby adding a punch to your sentence. Good scholars read a text by strictly observing the comas and periods. By the way, if you paid any fee for English Class you took at university, please sue for a refund. / stupid prick we dont take PE in naija - we do NSE and COREN |
stupid prick we dont take PE in naija - we do NSE and COREN Quote from: Dede1 on Today at 07:29:22 PM For an umpteenth time, the caption of the thread is misleading at best. It should be that the South-east Sustains lead in Education. It is only an imbecilic sucker who could be in doubt that since the inception JAMB, south-east region has maintained an overwhelmingly lead in all areas of achievement according to the official statistic from JAMB office. How can people be talking of one-Nigerian and unity in the colonial contraption when an academic achievement of a certain section of the society is about engendering a civil war? wow - jamb office shows your overwhelming lead in all areas of achievement since when did jamb become a monitor of 'all areas of achievement ?? must be your girls in school, since the trader apprentices are all boys - of course, sending women to school is not necessarily about empowering them - more like an investment - guaranteed to drive up that bride price / It will take you another decade of grammar tutoring for an slowpoke like you to understand the accuracy in my writing style. Baring some typographic errors, my style of writing would occupy your attention for a half life. |

oyb:A nincompoop of your caliber can not draw me out of my academic shell to announce my area of academic discipline to the whole world through medium known as Internet. I have worked with and taught individuals from four continents for considerable amount of years in USA. You are still being a stark idiotic Nigerian who thinks that mere mentioning of Oil Company conveys any iota of significance. Please hoard the name of this Oil Company of yours because I may be visiting Nigeria for site inspection and assessment. I do not want to responsible for a person losing his/her job. As matter of fact, people like you, who could not articulate properly, do not belong to the engineering profession. By the way, a person not working in his/her area of academic profession does not stop the person as passing as one. Even in certain professions that required board certification, people still call themselves what the academic degree has confirmed on them. I know that a dolt like you have been parading your empty self as an engineer but never passed your EIT and PE exams. I bet you do not know or understand what I mean by the two acronyms. I have to ask again for you to state specifically the discipline, school and year of graduation for verification purpose. I still consider what you are spewing out as hot air because you are inherently incoherent by the manner you write and have shown a trail of stupidity by the crowd you keep. If your depilated brain above your shoulders would allow you to comprehend a simple statement that any company’s engineering department that hired you as a mid level engineer based on the gross point average you claimed that was awarded to you by one goofy professor, must be a crap. If I am your interviewer and asked you to write about yourself on impromptu, and the so-called scholar in you submitted paragraphs like you have been sketched them on this forum, you will be hauled to jail by the security personnels. |
@Poster Nigeria doe not have 250 ethnic groups, but she could claim 250 dialects spoken in Nigeria. |
tpia:What life are you referring? Or have you started hitting the bottles again? |
oyb:Please dude; keep your dirty loudmouth shut. The engineering department that had only two folks in middle strata of qualifications is a piece of crap. You claimed you were once a university student and still can not decipher what ethnic bias has transformed you, a bigot. Why did you forget to bring your real name, the university you attended and the year of graduation so that verification could take it course? Even the commonest thing like stating the engineering discipline you claimed to have obtained second class suddenly escaped your memory. Yet you were able to remember what folks told you about UNN. Or like one of dudes from your hood stated that he studied “electricity engineering”, I guess yours is not “motor engineering” or “gutter engineering”. If I had to offer anything to a professor (unless they offend in a major way), I guess you meant (unless they offered in a major way) according to you, I had gone for first class. Why should a person settle as a second fiddler when I could pay for the first fiddler? Look pal, it takes one idiot to understand another. The manner in which you have demonstrated the lack of ability to string two sentences correctly together has suggested that you offered in a major way to obtain your so-called second class. |
tpia:Please do not be silly. It is better to err on the part of knowledge than on the part of ignorance. You seemed to be consistently hallucinating whenever you are hooked up with keyboard. By the way, thank you Dr. Tpia for the wonderful prognosis you performed on me but you forgot to write prescriptions for my paranoiac disorder. It is unfortunately that you have turned your self into the forum police and investigator. My only concern about this self-arrogated job is whether you are capable of discharging the duties baring ethnic induced duress or bias. How could you have a peace with yourself after advising someone to improve on oneself and his/her manners? Are you not the same Miss Manners that just referred to a poster as goon on this thread? Even the thread you called the contributor a monkey depicted you as inventor of manners. Oh, there goes Miss Mannerism of cyber forum. Of course, when someone writes like a sucker, the author should be reminded about the image he/she has created. As for the Obong of Calaber, I had reserved few choice words that the royal father needs to hear from me in person. How could a loser, the Obong of Calaber, got twisted out of human form because one Igbo man wishes to be addressed as Eze Ndigbo in Calaber while he gleefully sat over a bottle of Akamere or Ogogoro when Bakassi was ceded to Cameroon? |
Dis Guy:You had the correct point about the mystic of Lagos. The factor behind people looking up to Lagos is because it was once a nation’s capital. Currently, Abuja is drawing the same emotion. Even in USA, people look at the inhabitants of Washington, DC metropolis with considerable amount of envy. However, you killed the joy of your piece with the unfortunate last sentence. Federal government of Nigeria built Lagos and Abuja not the state or the governor. |
tpia:Here you go again falling face down with your skewed logic. There was never in the instance that the original poster insinuated that DELTA, EDO, KOGI, OSUN, ONDO or OGUN STATES are among the south-east but the contributor just posted the statistical threshold point of states with considerable or above average scores in the JAMB. In fact, unlike you, I rejoiced about the recommendable stride all states listed on the top level bracket of statistic table are making in education including yours Delta State that came atop on one of the tables. Going through your wasteful drivel, I could only concur with you on one point, although by a default. It is where you have rightfully stumbled onto a fact that the original poster was confused on the header of the thread. Instead of “South-east reclaims lead in Education”, it should read that South-east sustains lead in Education. Since the inception of JAMB, south-east has always maintained supreme leadership in that department. |
tpia:Please if you were asleep when scribed your latest post, I suggest you wakeup and sniff some coffee. You have the audacity to accuse me of being paranoia because I pointed out how you sarcastically avoided the main table of individual's academic laurels and danced all over the table that was surrounded by the intrigues of scholarship award. I bet you that if IMO or ANA was also on top of the second table, you would have avoided it like a leper. It is only a person suffering from juvenile delinquent that would refer to an important national academic statistical data as a tool of juvenile game. I can assure you that what we have on this forum is not lack of focus but wrong focusing spurred by ethnic bias. Honestly, I thought you would have initially replied to the post with phrases like: great and wonderful achievement. |
Drug traffickers: ‘Number of Nigerians in foreign jails unknown’ By John Ameh, Abuja Published: Friday, 23 Jan 2009 The Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Lanre Ipinmisho, said on Thursday that the number of Nigerians involved in the trafficking of hard drugs across international borders had taken a frightening dimension. Lanre Ipinmesho, DG, NDLEA He called for additional support for the agency by all segments of the Nigerian society to combat the problem, which, he said, was fast destroying the country. Ipinmisho, who appeared before the House of Representatives’ Committee on the Diaspora, headed by Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa in Abuja, disclosed that as at 2005, about 1,120 Nigerians were languishing in jails outside the country for drug-related offences. The NDLEA boss admitted that the figures were grossly underestimated as the agency did not have the figures for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He blamed the lack of reliable statistics on the alleged non-compliance with Section 45 of the NDLEA Act by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ipinmisho said, “This section mandates all heads of Nigerian diplomatic missions abroad to forward to the NDLEA every six months, statistics of Nigerians in jail abroad for drug offences. “Lack of cooperation stems from foreign countries particularly the Western world of United Kingdom and the United States of America.” Reacting to the statistics provided by Ipinmisho, Dabiri-Erewa and other members of the committee expressed shock, saying that the situation demanded urgent intervention from government. She said, “Obviously, this is not good for us as nation. It is not good for our image. The NDLEA needs massive support, in funding and logistics.” “At the level of the committee, we shall try and assist by collaborating with the Committee on Foreign Affairs to overcome some of your challenges.” “These countries refuse to provide relevant information relating to Nigerians involved in drug trafficking in their countries on grounds that double jeopardy exists in the Nigerian law –Decree 33 of 1990.” Giving a breakdown of current available statistics, he said that over 600 Nigerians were in jail in Thailand as at 2002, out which 521 were transferred home between 2003 and 2008. There were 229 in Russia (2001); 226 in Pakistan (2006); 28 in Indonesia (2003); another 12 in the same country in (2004); and 25 in Italy (2004). “As can be seen from above, the statistics available are not up to date and very unreliable as the agency neither has the capacity nor the resources to gather these statistics. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a very crucial role to perform in this respect”, he added. But, quoting from the 2008 report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for West and Central Africa , Ipinmisho stated that out of 1,357 couriers arrested, “Nigerian citizens were by far more detected nationally, accounting for about 57 per cent of the total arrested.” He noted, “Between 2005 and 2008, at least 46 tons of Cocaine were seized in West African Sub-Region; this is alarming when compared with the fact that before then, the entire continent hardly seized a ton. “About 3.4 tons of Cocaine were seized from 1, 357 West African couriers on commercial flights from West Africa to Europe between 2004 and 2008. “53 per cent of those arrested in South Africa in 2005 were Nigerians while in 2006, 31 per cent of those arrested for drug trafficking in France were Nigerians.” The DG, who told the committee that the “problem was getting more alarming”, said it had reached a point where out of every 100 suspects arrested, 55 per cent were Nigerians. “Sadly, 90 per cent of these Nigerians are from the South-East, especially Anambra State . “We have been engaging the South-East governors, traditional and religious leaders in discussions and they are doing something about it,” he stated. Locally, he revealed that Kano State had the highest number of consumption of all illicit drugs, while the South-West supplied 90 per cent of Cannabis Sativa (Indian hemp) in the country. Meanwhile, the House in plenary, mandated the joint Committee on the Diaspora, Foreign Affairs and Justice to investigate within three weeks and submit a report on the circumstances leading to the killing of a Nigerian, Shefiu Salaudeen, in Ukraine on January . http://www.punchontheweb.com/article_comments.aspx?theartic=Art2009012339235
I thought by now your joyous state of emptiness concerning the percentage of south-eastern kids arrested in foreign countries because of drug trafficking would have faded. Does it occur to your lazy arse that today’s south-east of Nigeria was the main hub of former eastern region of Nigeria? Have you realized that among the three original regions of Nigeria that eastern Nigeria is only one without any federal government presence? Lagos was a federal seat that swallowed considerable amount of funds Nigeria had earned since her independence. Are you in doubt that Lagos is the hub of former western region of Nigeria? Today, the Abuja has taken the place of Lagos in swallowing funds earned by the misconceived country called Nigeria. I hope you are not in doubt that Abuja, like Lagos, could be equally regarded as the hub of former northern region of Nigeria. With federal funds and capitals being sunk in Lagos and Abuja, these cities and their regions saw boost of unimaginable economic spread other states and regions can only dream. Former eastern region in general and the so-called south-east in particular have been left bare of any economic assistance from the federal government. Among the three original regions, it is only eastern Nigeria that stood without international airport of the size of MMA or NAA. Networks of roads that are solely the responsibility of the federal government of Nigeria were left to the condition of pre-civil war. The successive evil and retrogressive governments of the jungle called Nigeria have set in motion the socio-political machination to stymied economic growth in south-east region. But one thing the moronic government of Nigerian can not achieve is to block the natural endowment of Ndigbo. Believe me, the insatiable quest for knowledge will surely overcome all forms of adversity. It is rather unfortunate that you found yourself in a state of awkward predicament because you have foolishly deduced that the actions of few Nigerians tend to tarnish your image. Until Nigeria finds it fit to put her house in order with fair and equitable distribution of her wealth, you could jump off cliff or worse, there will be no place your sorry arse will call Nigeria. |
tpia:When will Nigerians applaud genuine stride to unadulterated success besides the ones emanating from their neck of the wood? Even the ones that come across as enlightened would find a way to fall for the frowziness of ethnic bias. It is amazing how you side stepped the main results of self-indulged achievements on the above table to drool over the table below that is being blanketed by considerable variables involved in the PTDF scholarship program. Even with the aforementioned coded determinants that play in award of scholarship, I bet you that the two states from south-east may have been overlooked in certain areas. Please take an unbiased look on the top table, you will realize that even a die-hard detractor of Ndigbo like you should welcome the whopping and a huge margin of excellence separating the two top states from the struggling third state, in this case, DEL. Again, stop hating and start appreciating the scintillating quality of mankind strolling from the lands of the rising Sun. |
@poster The situation being anticipated is the main reason Nigerian constitution provided for the office of Vice Presidency. |
