Sam Milla:This is another efulefu that found his or her way to Nairaland forum. The plank of your argument and the logic it conveyed seriously begged for sanity. Please speak for yourself not for the entire Ndigbo. I can not fathom from which part of your bloody arse you pulled out the unfounded allegation you termed illusion that “igbos would have been so rich if on our own”. In the present configuration of Nigeria, where the government of Nigeria has ceded crude oil producing areas to Igbo people’s neighbor, it will fascinate you to know that the quest for sovereign independent state of Biafra is raging as ever. The people of Igboland have never sought directly or indirectly to takeover or usurp the natural resources located in certain section of the jungle called Nigeria. I indulge you to read the history of Nigeria properly and you will definitely stumble into the fact that both Northern and Western Regions of Nigeria were very wealthy and thumped Eastern Region of Nigeria before 1951. The people of Eastern Nigeria never cooked up a political machination to destabilize the then mineral resources and agricultural rich regions. Again, try to read up the early attempts of crude oil exploration in Nigeria by Shell D’Arcy. Northern Region of Nigeria may have a reason to pursue a stake in the oil but has no reason to sow the seeds of political destabilization in Eastern Region. The shameless culprit behind planting seeds of political chaos in the East was Western Nigeria. |
@karmamod You can whine as much as you could about the pictures posted by DeepZone and twist your ugly self out of human form, the test of the pudding is in the eating. Ndigbo are smashingly beautiful creatures. You are free to either post the beautiful pictures you certainly do not have and the ugly pictures such as you or you hold your peace. You are sounding like a typical ugly Yoruba woman who has the tendency to criticize beautiful ladies but very afraid to look herself up in the mirror. |
bawomolo:If you do not have any regards for an extinct maggot such as yourself, which I strongly believed, you should have shown some sense of consideration to other forum community contributors before posting those vestiges of a drooling jackass. One would have thought that this compound fool understood the primary history of the topic in discussion. Why do you not read to, at least, understand the phrases you have foolishly employed in your write-up? After reading through these disjointed rubbish or self-defecating acts it is not difficult to ascertain that you are one sex-starved and imbecilic simpleton. For the sake of your skewed and wild intuition, if Katanga was a proxy of Belgium armed forces, the entire nation of Congo Kinshasa, the provinces of Stanleyville and South Kasai were also the proxies of Belgium armed forces. Was it not Belgium that granted Congo Kinshasa her independence in 1960? It did not take more than two years after Congo Kinshasa’s independence for the center to fall apart. What actual does this fool know about the phrase “Police Action”? I have tried to fathom the misguided relevance few deranged monkeys have tried to attach to Mid-western region and the so-called her inversion by Biafran armed forces. Was it not the same region Awolowo decided to let go rather than fight to keep? Believe me Awolowo could be many things to certain people but he was certainly not a fool and never left any opportunity to chance. |
What an arrant nonsense about Yoruba not enslaving its people. May I ask the tribe the Yoruba enslaved? During this period, Edo and Yoruba kingdoms were raiding each other to extinction. In addition, the Arabs and Fulani Caliphate were raiding Yoruba people. If you understood the geography, terrain and vegetation of these areas at that period, you would have realized that the statement of Yoruba enslaving other tribe is a complete crap. It remains as a fact that Yoruba slave boy later became Ooni of Ife.
by Negro_Ntns |
It very silly and unpardonable treachery when people had an axe to grind or looking for a cheap route to political notoriety. Please do not get wrong or accuse me of holding brief for our useless governors. Most of the civilian governors are rogues. Again, the problems or what constituted the problems vary from state to state. Two of the pictures displayed in the article are completely fraudulent. The picture with two trailers on a deplorable road has been cited in article against Owerri, Imo State purporting be the end of Douglas Road by Nnekede. Also, the one on the rail road are rows of shanty market stalls and bundles of firewood for sale to passengers on the train. For those who are familiar with Aba should know that the picture is about Owerri road by Ama Ogbonnaya junction. Yes, Aba deserved more than the governor has done but disservice is done by politicians who play cut throat and ethnic bias politics. |
@Negro_nts @KarmaMod At least, in certain part of Igbo land, the people showed humanistic instinct by keeping them alive. In Yoruba land and many other parts of Nigeria, they were sacrificed to the gods of the land. Recently in Oyo state, when an Oba’s palace was engulfed in fire among the objects discovered were numerous instruments for human sacrifice. It is a practice being conducted in Yoruba land till today. As recently as 1897, the Bini kingdom was littered with human bodies used in sacrifices to the gods of land hoping it will ward off attack by British. Oba Kosoko of Eko (Lagos) was known for heavily involved in human sacrifices, a practices being conducted by all the Obas in Yoruba land till today. The difference remains that certain part of Igbo land was not callous as Yoruba people who sacrificed human beings to the deities. @prittgrrr You are worried about Osu in Igbo land. What would you have done to know that Yoruba people sacrificed their slaves to deities? Probably get twisted out of human form or jump the cliff. |
If you are just being awoken by the statement or question that was posed by prittgrrr by demanding answer from the contributors, you could wait for eternity. If I understood correctly, he/she said only Osu could answer to that question. Please wait for an Osu to supply the answer.

Quote from: Negro_Ntns on Yesterday at 03:39:03 AM Pritti, I think you asked a very valid question when you stated the following quote and I thought someone would answer it, . . . Now, maybe the word tortue was a strong one, but I merely meant to show that to say that something is "only psychological stigma" seeks to diminish the effects the actions can have on the psyche of a person. If you are not an Osu, how do you know that it is "only a stigma" and that the stigma is minimal? Only an Osu can speak to that issue_____prittyyyyy Anyone care to answer?

|
adconline:Some people with dilapidated social order above their shoulders have constantly displayed a wanton ignorance of history when issues surrounding pre-1968 colonial contraption called Nigeria are being discussed. The pogrom that took place in Northern Region of Nigerian and lack of safety for Eastern Nigerians in certain corners of Nigeria led to the declaration of Biafra. It must be recalled that the war declared on Biafra by Gowon-led Nigeria was wholly necessitated by the Crude Oil in Eastern Region of Nigeria. The same manner and reason Patrick Lumumba declared war against Katanga. It is very funny that many dumb Africans would hold Lumumba in high political esteem. |
When Gowon took over power in the jungle called Nigeria, there is nobody from the Eastern Region that attended constitutional conference. Where did the delegates hold the constitutional conference this scumbag was talking about? There were peace missions held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Aburi, Ghana. The only region bent on secession was the east if the orderly succession of C-in-C was not followed. The Western Region supported the so-called One-Nigeria. The elimination of one of the progressive army officers of Yoruba extraction during the coup of July 29, 1966 moved the region solidly behind the Northern Region and British conspiracy. The truth and nothing but the truth will come to surface in the jungle called Nigeria sometime in future. My people say that “when an adult takes an object that belongs to a toddler and raises his/her hand up, when the hand starts to ache the adult, he/she must bring the toddler’s object down”. I hope that the Efulefus among the Ndigbo are listening to the ranting of the ants. |
@prittigrrr Marriage is a fundamental union of male and female species of human beings to procreate and extend individual’s lineage in a given society. Even given the importance of marriage, it does not have the ultimate wisdom to unite everybody in the process of wedlock. In certain societies, people create guidelines to check marriage processes. Even among “diala” in Igbo land marriage may not be consummated due to certain factors. In certain areas of Igboland, osu is one factor among several factors being considered before marriage could be consummated between a man and woman. You are very much entitled to your opinion but do not come to the forum to pontificate on the issue you are very clueless about and put up fence about not wanting argument. It is a pity you are overwhelmed with argument at work It would gladden your heart to know that all practices that led to osu in certain areas of Igboland had been stopped. |
When did marriage rise to the pinnacle of fundamental unit of every society? Does it include the social miscarriage called marriage in USA? It is funny to read about issue that inhibits the marital/family unit and the need to deal with it. If that is the case, the divorce rate in USA should have been at minimal instead of trumping the rate in the world. If the Osu system is the only thing that stops marriage process cold in Igboland, I guess Ndigbo do not have problem with it because the population of Ndigbo is on the increase with leaps and bounces. If the advocates of Osu, who seemed to be out of shape, want to become osu themselves, they are welcomed in Igboland. |
tpia:Of course, I had been raised by my grandma but great grandma. Probably, you would also consider this post as a complimentary. By the way, I am very proud to have been raised by a woman with considerable level of wisdom. I must say that you are entitled to your opinion. However, if you were not vindictive, you would have noticed a question about to commit suicide within the dialogue. |
@Baro If the government in Nigeria had followed your ethnically biased premise, the UNIBEN would not have been in existence. There is slim chance of possibility that there was no Bini person who was qualified as DVC when UNIBEN was inaugurated

A Vice Chancellor from the ethnic group that hosts the University, as simple as that |
@Tpia My dear, I understood sarcasm as “a form of humor that is marked by mocking with irony, sometimes conveyed in speech with vocal over-emphasis”. With no pun intended, you appeared dried and off balance in this discourse. |
tpia:It amazes me that you could not discern sarcasm from compliment. Unless you meant it is a joking stuff or you have an axe to grind with mamaearth. Racism is a misguided misnomer that found comfort zone in the stream of thoughts amongst ignorant fellows. There is only one race on earth and it is human. Tribalism, though, not any operative word in grammar has become a de-facto expression for people who will push and feel that their tribe is (primus interferes) first among equals. Or that people’s tribal group is more equal than other tribal group |
