Just as we re getting tired of democracy that takes us one step forward, 10 steps back. Look at China, Singapore etc. They had one leader for the longest, a leader that had interest of the people at heart.

The crops of leader we have here are only concerned about power, not the people. Our president that has low score record is vying for re election in 2027, as he remain unapologetic about his Penchant for power at any cost. They are bending the democracy to serve them, manipulating and changing the rules to suit their machinations.

While it may sound good, it will only increase prices. Few Nigerian made good can be as competitive as imported ones eg from China.
Ask any manufacturer these days, the cost of electricity or diesel to run generators and to distribute goods takeup almost 70% of production cost. You then have all sorts of gov agencies with different taxes.
If not for our high running cost why should imported goods be cheaper, afterall our cost of labour is low.

We must start somewhere and we must start, if government is serious, we can find products where we have comparative advantage and produce locally as well as export...especially reducing our imports of things we can provide for ourselves...this will reduce reliance on foreign exchange and increase the value of naira...we must be a productive nation or in the future naira will become useless, and inflation sky rocket.

If you don't know, our lack of production and exportation...too much importation and consumption is why we have a low value currency and high inflation.

Inflation occurs when the volume of money in circulation is way in excess of production activity, in other words, when a nation don't produce but spend most of their money in consumption, inflation occurs.

Go learn the basic principles and stop telling me about America lamenting, last I checked American economy is getting stronger and dollar currency still very valuable.
