Politics › Re: We Promised Change To Nigerians But Not In 4 Years - Fashola Says by deebrownneymar: 7:48pm On Nov 21, 2018
EmagNig:
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has mentioned that even though it is true the current administration promised change to Nigerians, it didn't mention it will come within 4 years.

Fashola said this at the inauguration of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday November 20th.

“In 2014, we said we would change Nigeria but we did not say we will do it in four years. This election therefore is a choice between going forward to the next level or backward because the work has already begun.

Since I became a minister, the president has never interfered in what I do. He has never lobbied me for contract and I can assure you that it is like that with other ministers.

The oil revenue the former government took advantage of, what did they use it for?” he asked

Speaking further, Fashola took a swipe at the main opposition party, PDP. According to him, the opposition would not have lost the election in 2015 if they had performed very well.

“We have watched what happened in 16 years of nothing to show. Some people are trying to rewrite history now. You don’t sack a good employee. If they are living in delusion and say it was good governance, why did they lose the job? In 2017, the budget on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was cut from N30 billion to N10 billion. You know who was presiding (then).

“Buhari has inaugurated an infrastructure development fund to ensure that Lagos-Ibadan, Second Niger Bridge and Abuja to Kano Road would never suffer funding problem again. Just yesterday, the two contractors on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway got a total of N15 billion to continue the work. The same thing is true of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road. That road, for 16 years, was nothing to write about.”

Music/Radio › Re: When Will Nigerian Songs Stop Being About Sex, Money & Love? by deebrownneymar: 4:21pm On Nov 21, 2018
Fadedvoiced:
When will Nigerian Songs Stop being Just about Money and Sex?

This is a question I've been asking Nigerians .
When Kiss Daniel released "One Ticket" featuring Davido ,even without listening to it I knew that it'll be just about love, sex and money - truly my thoughts were right and confirmed after I listened to the song yesterday.

Is it that songs that don't promote sex, gold digging ,drugs and love don't/can't sell or make waves in Nigeria ? Because this is getting beyond control.
When the current government riggged the OSUN gubernatorial election which Davido's uncle was a participant I thought henceforth he'll be dishing out only motivational, sensible and soul melting songs . Songs that can criticize bad governance and abuse of power but no - It must be love, sex and money.

In America , any little issue is taken to heart by their singers and celebrities but in Africa , Nigeria precisely how many celebrities even condemned police/SARS brutality in their songs? None.

Most major Nigerian hits of the year ranging from Assurance ,Soco,Fake Love,Nwababy,Aza,Fever,Unleash and One Ticket are focus on three things - Love,Money and sex ,as usual

Baby baby baby ,my body - is this all Nigerian artists know how to offer ?

Burna Boy's Ye is what I can classify as a mature and sensible vibe . Before you come for my head, I'm a huge fan of Wizkid right from 2012.

Nigerian artists are hoping to win Grammys and Emmys , the thing is who's going to give them Grammys with these wack songs ?

From a concerned Nigerian.
I sincerely hope they see this.
When folks like you start to patronize proper songs.

Buhari’s ‘Next Level’ Policy Is ‘Poverty Forever’- Olawepo Hashim
Describes Atiku’s Policy Document As Policy Of ‘Looting And Corruption’

The People’s Trust (PT) presidential candidate, Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has promised to pay Nigerian workers fifty thousand naira (N50, 000) minimum wage if elected President come 2019.

Addressing stakeholders meeting on Monday at Ibro Hotel on Monday in Abuja, Olawepo condemned governors who are reluctant to accept to pay N30, 000 describing them as people lacking in imagination and creativity.

Hashim, however, described them as crop of people who have never created jobs in their lives, rather they “parasites who only feed fat on government money.

“I will give a decent living wage to workers if I become president. People in APC and PDP are reluctant to pay N30, 000, within one year in government I will workers N50, 000.

“Those reluctant to pay N30, 000 lack imagination, they lack creativity. They are parasites living on government money.

“When elected, I’ll create 40million jobs every year.

The PT President who admonished the electorate not to believe any policy document from APC or PDP, describing Buhari’s policy document of ‘Next Level’ as poverty forever and Atiku’s policy document as corruption, selling government properties.

“PDP is looting policy, PT is the party for the true development of Nigeria”.
