QuinModah: Recently I was informed of a case where an employee was accused of stealing. His department has no direct dealing with funds, and one wonders how he carried such an act. He was suspended immediately without any evidence, the investigation process was shady, and after two days he was arrested and told to provide the money he stole from the organization, or else would be charged to court.
He maintained he did not steal and the organization should carry out a proper investigation as he has no idea what is happening. While he was arrested they called in an expert to check his mail and other links for evidence and found nothing. He was locked up in the police cell for two weeks and was only released because the MD requested he resume work immediately.
Upon resumption, he was invited to the MD's office for an apology as their investigation showed the money was not stolen but the proper account was not done.
Now, he wants to sue the organization for unfair treatment and they are pleading for a settlement outside the court.
Should he listen to them or go ahead with it?
The negligence of proper investigation led to him being locked up in the police cell for two weeks with torture and humiliation. Also, his goodwill in that organization has been tarnished.
All of this could have been avoided if a proper Disciplinary Investigation was carried out. During disciplinary investigations do not assume what the resolve is until you investigate and have facts with evidence.
Despite every effort, even the best-run businesses may encounter disciplinary problems with employees from time to time. There is no perfect organization, hence the need for policies and procedures that aid best practices.
Although it is always best to focus on effective management practices and preventative measures, having clear and fair disciplinary procedures is a good first step in avoiding difficult employment tribunals.
It is advisable to have a detailed policy in place to address various disciplinary issues, and when there is an issue, especially a case or Gross misconduct, The HR Head should ensure due diligence is carried out to the letter so that no one is accused wrongly.
Please let me know your thoughts on the previous story of the young man accused of stealing would you advise him to settle out of court or sue the organization?

CANDYDADDY: We have been in the relationship for Just 2 weeks now, yesterday as i was going out, normally whenever i am going out she used to implore me of buying something for her when I'm coming back, but i don't really see the need to impress nor spend on a girl that never also invest in the relationship, so yesterday as i was coming back i bought her biscuits and some chocolate bars worth 1,500 and i told her the amount intentionally.
So today when I'm coming to her place i was already anticipating gratitude or 'thank you' from her to no avail,thus our convo goes;;
At the instance, i told her she is not appreciative and she should forget everything about us and she should never dare call or stop me on road wherever she sees me
Till now neither she have find way to call me nor me calling her
Moral of this is girls lives at the moment, what you did for them now ends there, stop impress a girl financially that don't show gratitude nor reciprocate your show of care.
I talk am say lifestyle wey dbanj dey show of has nothing to do with proceeds from his dead music career. I hope he’s able to do the needful and get out of this trouble
LifestyleTonite: Below is a video of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, eating and dancing after his performance at Chatham House, London.
In the build up to Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential election, Presidential candidate of the ruling party, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was today in United Kingdom (UK) to speak at the Chatham House.
The event took a rather strange turn when Nigerians in UK assembled at the front of Chatham House to send away Tinubu and his entourage back to Nigeria in a clear art of rejection of the Nigerian ruling party and its Presidential candidate.
The group of Nigerians in UK staged a protest which was led by former Nigerian Presidential media aide and author, Reno Omokri.
The group held a lot of placards which had with them various inscriptions which showed clearly that the Nigerian group in UK are not at all sold in to the candidacy of the Nigerian ruling party.
hisexcellency34: Live at Chatham House. Participants asked Tinubu what he will do in the areas of security and youths empowerment. He said Governor El-Rufai, Dele Alake and Ben Ayade to answer on his behalf
Nothing wrong with that. He’s not a security expert
MandelaLives: Let them answer. They want a Christian to wait to be "invited" to church programs before he attends. But, their president attended churches as a Muslim when he was looking for votes. He never attended churches before or after that.
minks: The Bible is the most inspiring book I've ever read. It is based primarily on the lives of God's people through history and preserved for us by God Himself. From the stories of the lives of God's servants in the Bible, my favourite character is Joseph. The story of Joseph inspires me to serve God in all circumstances and trust Him to bring His plan to pass in my life.
Who's your favourite Bible character and what have you learned from his/her life?
Some of the richest, most respected and most followed church leaders in the world, who have been preaching the so-called 'prosperity' gospel passionately and resolutely for decades have come out in recent times to denounce the gospel as a scam.
First it was Benny Hinn who openly came out to denounce the gospel and apologized for misleading many with it for such a long time. He said he was misled himself by some preachers of the gospel, but he has come to realize that it's a gospel which grieves the Holy Spirit because it's not of God but of the devil.
He gave an instances instances of people coming to him and telling him that it didn't work for them as he had said and he'd be feeling guilty because he was the one that sold that scam to them. He said he didn't care what anyone made of his repentance and if they stopped inviting him to preach in their churches as a result because he was only concerned about doing what's right in God's sight.
Now it is Creflo Dollar who came out earlier this year to denounce the same doctrine and asked anyone with his tapes he preached on that doctrine to thrash it because it was not of God.
His was even more shocking because his preaching of the 'prosperity gospel' was much more aggressive and deeply rooted than that of Benny Hinn, so for such a man who was so sure of himself about that doctrine that he would preach it for several decades unashamedly, and even go to the extent of deriding and mocking those who preached against such a doctrine, to now damn the consequences ans say he was wrong all along was not something many saw coming.
Now it's not just Benny Hinn and Creflo Dollar that have thrashed the gospel of 'properity', because there are several others who have also come out to denounce it over the years but the two of them appear to be the pick of the bunch.
So the question is, are they right that the prosperity gospel is a scam?
Before you answer the question, please first bear in mind that these two are arguably the richest church leaders with the highest following in the world, men who have inspired more Christians worldwide than most, so they're not just local champions, so that the lame excuse of being poor and having a poverty mentality so not qualified to speak on this subject is not applicable, because these men have tried and tasted of it for decades, but they came to the conclusion that the 'prosperity' gospel was a scam.
So do you think they're right?
God bless.
See question. Something that’s been very obvious to those few who aren’t gullible.
mcdon024: It is now a thing of shame as Ghanaians now use Tinubu (BAT) to banter Nigerians...As seen yesterday when some Ghanaians angrily responded to a mockery tweet after their lost to Portugal at the ongoing world cup in Qatar....Check some of their reply below
Tah! No be only ritual. SMH. Her husband couldn’t impregnate her because the problem is from him. The past just fooled the woman into sleeping by deceiving her that’s it’s a ritual.
nokia1000: I am fully regretting marrying my wife. She is always right and doesn't take corrections. She doesn't have sex drive. Prefer sleeping alone that she doesn't want someone body to touch her. She is not serious in anything that can generate money. I have made a lifetime mistake. Sometimes I feel like committing suicide to get free from regretting. I am seeing myself going down slowly.
Messi1: I've always visited this my uncle at least four times a week. That is where I pass away time. His children all like me and any day I fail to come they must ask me why didn't come. I use the time i spend in his house to teach his children Mathematics and do their home work for them.
Today I was in his house, he stormed out from his room and ask if i don't help my mother at home. He yelled at me and what pain me most is that he said food is costly and they are only managing. He made me feel like i was the one finishing the food in his house. He said I should not be too frequent in his house if at all I must come.
I'm considering severing all ties to this my uncle, will that be right?
Why? So sorry. I would never speak to him again. That was very embarrassing
Revolva: Portable was Caught on Camera Assaulting a guy we suspected to be part of his studio management crew whom he employed but they failed to turn profits for him while he was on a six-month musical tour away abroad. It was observed that they remitted only 7000 nairas when he came back to Nigeria, which provoked him to sack all of them.
This video was so graphic that, it caused a stir on Instagram in the early hours of today that he had to take it down, because of the reaction it got from his followers...so sad the poor guy went thru this, whether portable is right in his doing he is not suppose to beat this guy in this manner.
