You didn't embolden the full phrase. cheesy

Never ever going back to their rubbish, which means if the rubbish is removed, I might consider. Same way I'm considering Indriver. I want to demystify it.
Oh that's true lol.
About indriver, there's nothing to consider especially for high earner like you. It will only be useful for destination trips

Tell them no one cares. We've moved on from uber...

Suffer head app.

Never ever going back to their rubbish.
No loyalty in this hustle, let's say driver's earnings on uber skyrockets and dwarfs that of bolt you still won't go back?

Uber has invited me for a physical roundtable discussion on how to improve their app and driving experience on their platform. I already have my list of prayers for them which include

1. Display of rider's destination (riders believe we see it, but I tell them it's only on bolt)

2. Recruitment of more partners to reduce incidences of long pickups ( today I was around adekunle and got a trip from uba building)

3. Penalizing riders who request and fail to answer their calls. You can't slide arrived on Uber you need drive down to PU

4. Rider verification

5. Reduction of commission to 15 or 20% and regular promo for riders.

Pls, feel free to add yours so as to present it tommorow. Thanks
All your points are valid, but that number 5 I don't think uber will bow to that. They're just damm too stubborn as if they used it to do ritual for them when they wanted to start the business.
You can also ask them to return fare multipliers (I can't remember the name given to it back then) where different regions have different fare multipliers like 1.5x, 1.9x. The extra won't reflect on rider's fare, it's uber that will add it.
New drivers won't know about this

Most importantly, drive the car like it is your only hope of survival....
even with an average oil, service after 1k mile....
Try to open and close your trunk yourself... most corolla out there lock the trunk with rope.....
Caution riders to close doors gentle.....
When it rains heavily, don't drive.....
Wash regularly.....
Then you'd be fine......
Is the interval not too short?

Depends on how much u make a day, riders purse and Ur negotiating power.

25k a day is fine. At least he will not be moving around throughout the day. So less than 5k fuel.
But if rider is doing delivery job from point to point then 30k. Last
Another option, he can just ask for the amount he nets daily, and the rider will be responsible for fueling the car so.

If you are not lazy and you eat correctly its easy,
Off days Monday, Wednesday sometimes nothing like off if l havent met my target.
Interesting to know you also drive on the platform. You still can't compare driving over there to driving here, road conditions, traffic, rider's stress and all that. Nice one though

When people sell off their naija used cars . it is sold for a reason ......with my Tokunbo civics down time has been very low.. How many naija used cars can comfortably say the same thing........

People think they are maximizing by spending less .. They are basically cutting corners that will come to bite them ......
Is it impossible to fix naija used cars back to tokunbo standard?

Good morning guys, I have being a silent reader here.

I recently lost my job and things are relatively tough for me right now, I really want to go into Uber/Bolt business, I have a corrola and I really would love to deploy it. I will be relocating to lagos soon. The only problem is that I do not know much about lagos roads. I am good with driving direction apps though.

I want to ask, is driving app enough for me to do this business in a location I am new to?

Your candid advise please.
Shoot your shot, you will learn little lessons along the way but you will do well

Its only in this ehailing business in which an employee (even if a free agent) will expect to earn more than his employer. So if you earn 60k, your employer who bought 100% of the means of production is too greedy to ask 66% to cover his cost of capital and make a little margin?

In my years of experience I have never seen where employee expects to earn more than his boss, very greedy folks here

I can only pray God will also make you an employer so you can be a very generous man.
Oga employer, with a heavy heart I'm breaking it to you that you are not anybody's employer. If you rent a shop, is the shop owner your employer?
The person driving your car is not your driver, he's your business partner. If you request and coincidentally he's the one that comes to pick you, my brother you're paying for that trip and you may even chop 1 star join.
Please try and read more about rent, let and lease then you will understand that once you give out your property in exchange for money, you have no business with how much the person makes with your property. Your argument is like renting out a shop and telling the person he/she will be paying you 66% of his/her profit monthly because you are the one that spent millions building the shop.

Is the 2.5m buying a new car? No.

Kia cerato, Toyota matrix, honda civics, honda CRV, I drive honda CRV currently...I bough it 800k spent less than 200k....the car don produce another honda CRV after 1.1 years ... I don't buy from abroad ...I buy here and spend 200k to put to standard...as long as the engine, gear is good...then you can bring to speed any other part without breaking the bank
Your head is there. They all insist on buying tokunbo cars on top kobo kobo fares.
If you search properly you will see good naija used cars with satisfactory abuse. In business, minimize costs maximize profit.

FACT... FOR YOU TO CALL IT A FLEET ANYWHERE FROM 5 CARS UPWARD... YOU CAN RECOUP YOUR MONEY FASTER THAT WAY...

BUT 1 0R 2 CARS IT WILL TAKE LONGER TO RECOUP .
It's the same time it will take you to recoup, unless you're reinvesting the income in more cars

Nothing concerns me with what the driver makes.

My own take is that with the current reality we live in, 25k will not make any car owner break even

Blackbishop, I understand the fact that Dru23 has a fleet. But what about those with just one Corolla?

100k a month and you spend a mandatory 10k plus to service. Let's not talk about if something major or minor goes bad. That's like taking 75k a month

So at what point will the person recoup his 2.5 million, and start enjoying sara money?

That someone has a fleet doesn't make any difference. If you calculate how much he makes weekly on all his cars then you must calculate how much he invested to get all the cars.
He has 6 cars so he's making 150k weekly, we forget that he bought those 6 cars for nothing less than 9m.

You best argument to kicking against 40k ia that you have driven for 6 months. Bro, it holds no water here. I will provide you a basis for my own:

Eatimates:

Corrola 2006 toks: 2.5M
Minor repairs before deplyment: 75k
Total outlay: 2.6M

**Running expense and income

1. 1st year total rental at 25k : 1200k for 12months (because its toks assume near 100% uptime)

2. Servicing every 2 months using the cheapest engine oil, oil filter: 15k per servicing (90k per year)

3. Shock absorber (35k _50k), brake parts, clutch (15-30k), tyres (30k) (twice a year at the least for a well maintained car: total is 210k)

4. Papers & comp. insurance (5%): 175k

5. Miscellaneous: 50k

Net income to partner:1.2M - 100k -210k -175k -50k = 665k

From year 2, I can bet the partner will not see 665k as car maintainance will start shooting up and he will not achieve 100% uptime.

In essence even after 5 years at 25k he may not recover his capital talk less of profit, especially if a discount factor is applied to account for time value of money.
Then the problem is with the tool, not the driver. Why use a wrong tool and put unnecessary pressure on driver to overwork himself. Highest I will advise anyone to invest in uber business is 1.5m per car. It's just to move people from one place to another, luxury is just an option not a necessity

Good evening pilots....

I'm here with a knowledge seeking question.

I'm based in Benin and I've been looking for a car to ride on e-hailing.

So last week I went to a office and was offered a car with certain criteria to meet.

About 60k deposit and 2 guarantors.

I'll balance 8k daily, 6days a week.

Car is strictly on rental.

I'll be paid 50k monthly.

Pilots in the house, is this a fair deal? Can I meet up in Benin?

My target in raising enough money to get a decent Nigerian used car in less than 5months.
Run away, as fast as you can. It's a bad deal

Honestly bro, am not suggesting anything, because its meaningless, i cant regulate or enforce it... Car owner has much much more to lose, in my opinion.. All the threat, danger and risk you face and complain about, i already face and embrace it while looking for that 2.5 million to buy the car, so its ur turn, embrace it!.. Do you know why most car owners take care of maintenance in most cases 100%? Because their eyes is on the investment, d 2.5m.. They want to protect it.. No driver can maintain a car d way the owner will do it, its his car after all. So why should i get peanut, and do 100% maintenance.. We are losing.
You're not losing, you knew how much you would be making weekly before investing 2.5m in the business. You're saying all this now because you saw few dashboards.
The thing is it's minority of drivers making the very high figures you saw and even if you are lucky to get one of them as your driver he still won't pay you above what a driver that is making normal money is paying. Why? Because he went out of his way so he can maximize the opportunity and make more money for himself, not to make more money for the car owner.
The shopping complexes you see everywhere, in the same complex someone is making 10 times the rent while someone is making just double, rent will not be increased because of someone that is making 10 times profit.
If it is easy to make 120k weekly, why not resign and start making 500k monthly driving lol

Since it's easy to make that 120k weekly and partners want the lion share

The reasonable thing to do is to just retrieve your car and go hustle and net that 120k this time all to yourself Abi.

Does this also apply to regular businesses? I mean, if I open a shawarma spot and employ marketers, bike riders, and someone who makes the shawarma. Do they deserve to earn more than me who invested my money since they do all the work and bear all the risk.
It's not the same, it will be the same if you only rented out the space. So let's assume you rented out the space for 10k per week, if he makes 1m that week it's still your 10k you will collect and if he makes just 2k the following week it's still your 10k you will collect

No one is talking about being good. Being Faithful to a cause and backing it up with actions.

For instance, after church service on Sunday. By 12 noon. I hit the road. My neighbor will be like "Are you not resting, today is Sunday , ojo isinmi things? My rest day is one of the weekdays.
I just laugh, that's religious dogma. Sunday is one of the best days to drive in Lagos.

Yet, the same people will watch premiership being played by another group of people (thousands of miles) on a Sunday too.
This still doesn't guarantee it will end well, it only maximizes the chances of success.
