northbird: That's the problem I always have with these guys, no street orientation, they just sit in the office and draft policies. In my hood the cheapest fare on an Okada starts from ₦150., the standard is ₦200. The distance must be very short for them to take ₦100.
A brand new car to come to your PU and drop you for ₦350. Unbelievable! I think they will soon leave that's why they called it UberGo, next one will be UberIsGoing then after that UberIsGone. Annoying people |

AgentXxx: I Thank God, I have been able to get my car back without paying a dime.... thanks to the just legal director for lastma whose office is located at their head office in ilupeju... I went there this morning to lay my complaint, he summon the officers to come to their office with pictorial evidence of the offense I was accused of, After waiting over 5hours with no sign of them, he got into in car and we drove to the yard in pen cinema, At the end of the day, the ticket booked was returned to the booking officer who will be paying it from his salary, An apology was tendered to me, my car tyre were pumped and I left there without paying a dime and the officers involved will be suspended....

IFSHR: Those riders go wait tire...except maybe Uber is ready to pay subsidy fee to drivers or maybe the commission fee will be below 15% Even if the commission is -15% I can never opt in. I hate trips that are below 1k, not to now talk of 200. |

unofficial: I don't think it's applicable to us yet. I got this from them this morning.
" We’re currently testing the product in Victoria Island, Maroko and Lekki 1. Once we start rolling it out to other areas in Lagos, you will have the option to opt into the product." Who wants to opt in. It's like something is even wrong with them sha, How will they expect drivers to do a trip of N350 and they will remove 25% (87.50) and N20 for lagos state from it. So they think drivers will happily drive like 10 mins to pickup location and do a trip of N200. Mehnnn |

This is why we say people shouldn't post sensitive details here, many are viewing quietly with evil intentions. You should have come here to confirm first before sending a dime, someone here too has been duped by that same road safety format so we would have warned you. You can drop his number, maybe his identity can be revealed |

YeyeGbami: Either you have factory tinted glasses or aftermarket tint the IGP has suspended issuance of tinted permits and spy plate numbers.
If you have permit before the suspension, you have no reason to worry unless you’re headed to eastern part of the country. I have 100% nylon tint on my vehicle with permit and medical report from ayinke house.
If dem stop me, i give them the required doc. I did it myself at dia police command so nothing like say na fake. Never say never. I said it here over a year ago that vi.s website said I'm owing 20k fine for driving with invalid road worthiness in july 2019, 11 months after I registered my car. I went to collect something for someone in their office last month so I used the opportunity to set things straight because I went to their office for the car registration, I no give person for gate or in the compound o, I entered the office gangan. Now they checked their system and said they did fake for me, that it's only the subsequent ones that are on the system. They were even preaching to me to try and pay twice if I couldn't afford to pay once because of vio stops me on the road my car would be impounded and I would pay more than 20k (taxes and other nonsense payments). I showed them the picture of the person that attended to me and they confirmed he used to work there but he's no longer there. I have my evidence that I did it in their office. The day vio will catch me, heads will roll. |

Crvrider: As long its not factory, bro for your own peace of mind, just yank it off. But then again if you can get doctors report I think your good.
Imagine police saying some people who where kidnapped, after being rescued said the cars had tinted glasses. They are using the kidnapping narrative. In their mumu mind they believe the cars used for kidnapping do not have tint permit |

vicdon: No surge, the campaigns sef no make sense again, shey i will not go on leave like this, some kazeems can never make heaven sha, my kazeem has been robbing me in broad daylight since December, he keeps putting bearing inside my hub, instead of buying a new one, i sha kuku keep spending on the hub monthly, until i finally changed kazeems, the new one took me to Ladipo and we bought a tokunbo hub for the drivers side, low and behold i don spend over 100+ on top my hub via my old mechanic, but i was shocked to know that the driver side hub is just 18k, and after fixing, my car has been perfect, it's as if they just brought it from Londin sef, now to drive go Switzerland dey hungry me, when you keep spending money on the same issue, change your kazeem, those guys are the reasons most car owners cry..... That's just it. If you fix something for me and it didn't last I will come back to inform you and I may not give you complete money for the re-fix and if it still didn't work as expected then I'm never coming back to you (for the same issue at least) |

Lekan239: well some graduate use the money earned during service to start up POS. Some go into vocational studies, some use the little money to start a photocopy business, some where employed in a job paying less than 600,000/annum, some became Uber partners/driver.
I haven't made up my mind yet, but Its still an option to chose amongst others. "I have a friend who is a shoe maker in my department and planning to expand after school" I am currently reading about ehailing in Nigeria, if I found it favourable and confirm that it will be able to sustain me, then I will do it. Do what works for you, don't listen to anybody that doesn't bring a better idea to the table. I will only advise you to see uber as a stepping stone and use the proceeds to create more sources of income because you cannot drive forever. It's better you already have a means to drive your own car now that you're still single without much responsibilities (I guess). I wish you best of luck |

cuteralph101: Thanks so much for your advice too. Car is frustrating in the sense that new issues keep coming up I spend a lot sometimes just to travel inter state leas than 300km one issue or the other. D gear is my second fear as I've changed it before so I'm kinda scared it may bring it's ugly head. My estimate for complete repair is about 400k what I need for the other business is 1.5m to give me 300k per month. cos of how traumatic the car has been I've chosen to sell it then rest for now and do the other biz. Will save and eventually get the car. Grateful for ur contribution This your other business, hope it's not crypto business because this ROI is very mouthwatering lol |

Springboot: Compressor is covered under warranty and would be replaced without him spending a dime, that's not enough reason not to use a brand new vehicle if you have the opportunity. I'm not trying to support or go against using a brand new vehicle, I just wanted him to know that nothing is certain, that you bought it brand new doesn't mean it cannot break down. |

Pearl1910: Let me gist u, I lived in a south south state between 2005 and 2011 midway during my stay d state govt launched brand new 07/08 Chevrolet Aveo for transportation, and I was privileged to get one. The car started falling apart in less than 6months, with no spare parts support and competent mechanics with knowledge of the car, d problem only compounded. We managed to get parts from Lagos but In the end, the car was just not strong enough for the rigours of transportation. Mine is still parked in d mechanic workshop till today. And for many others that owned the car they all parked up within 3-4yrs. I don't think anybody that used that car for transportation completed the payment before the car packed up...that's a state that has 80% of roads tarred, no Ijegun or Akute type of road and no Lekki flood type of water..

izzou: We are not debating which is stronger. We both know that these ones are stronger.
The discourse is picking a brand-new Chinese over a Tokunboh, and yes, I agree with CheerfulGiver. It makes more sense economically.
I really don't put much emphasis on resale value. Let a car yield my ROI as targeted and move on. Whatever I resale it is an extra.
A brand new Chinese car won't give me headaches for the next 18 months. We cannot say the same for Tokunbohs though Don't be too sure. My brother has used a brand new 2015 Hyundai elantra and the compressor spoiled within months |
