This is assuming you have the relevant updated or revised Lagos state transport laws.
Because, like u said, they fined u for traffic light violation in 2019. If they didn't have the mandate to do so, it will not be on Pay VIS platform. Maybe u r correct, maybe they pardoned u after a while or maybe the system was wiped because it couldn't keep information from 3yrs back. Whatever is d case, Lagos state ministry of transportation overseas VIS, so it's LASG that's fining and demanding not VIO.
Don't argue, this is the fact. They didnt pardon me (you hear say Lagos pardon person before?) and the system wasn't wiped because when I later checked, the RW offense was still 2019 and it wasn't there when I checked the first time, it was traffic light offense that was there. They knew it was out of their jurisdiction so they replaced the offense with the one they had control over. They are wise.

For you to know they do manipulate their website and database, they sent a msg to my brother who doesn't even live in Lagos that his document has expired, we checked their site and no unpaid bill was there.

Lagos state ministry of transportation has different agencies for different purposes, VIO is the agency that accused and arrested me for the offense and not Lastma so I can sue them for power abuse or whatever name my lawyer wants to give it. Like I said before sha, we live in a country where anything goes as far as it doesn't kill us

Pearl1910:
U are still arguing.
When this physical inspection started in Jan/Feb, I told you guys I paid 20k for traffic light violation for one of my vehicles before they issued RW certificate.
U escaped that payment because before this year, u could get RW certificate without visiting any office. Now that it is compulsory to do physical inspection of ur car and system checks for fines before they issue u RW certificate, u will pay all ur fines, except it is an assumed fine like expired document before renewal. But if the camera has actually captured the vehicle on the road when the document has expired, there is no grammar u will speak, u will pay d fine.
Wait till u jump light then go and tell VIO that they don't have any business with traffic light.
Lagos State now uses VIO to recover and n collect all vehicle and transport taxes and fines because u r mandated to go for renewal every year.
Well your case is the first time I'm hearing about it. I still maintain my stand that VIO has no right to fine me for jumping traffic light, they have no business with anything traffic, only vehicle inspection and documentation. They can be challenged in the court of law and they will likely lose. It's just that everything works upside down in this part of the world

Pearl1910:
Not only expired documents, beating traffic light in certain places is also captured.
I told u guys this since January.
I've not heard of any case of anyone fined for traffic violations.
When the cameras were newly installed, I was fined for jumping the red light in 2019 and I ignored since they didn't send any message to notify me. Fast forward to 2021 I checked the site again only to see that my offense had changed from red light to road worthiness, they had to wait for years to pass so they can carry out their manipulation so I would have no evidence to prove my innocence. My point is VIO has no business with traffic light, there job is limited to only documents and vehicle road worthiness unless other agencies want to start making use of the traffic camera too. I've come across speed limit monitoring devices on Lagos ibadan expressway, it's like federal government too will soon start dishing out fines for over speeding

I tried clicking on it, but it was not responding. Who knows? Maybe they are waiting to book me for the second document, b4 e go respond. Thieves grin

Modified: it opened when I clicked on pay. Aha! Roadworthiness! These guys are crazy. So if one stays in another state for an assignment and ur docs expired, u chose to renew it in that state as it is also an offence ( which the docs are federal), crazy Lagos vis will tell me to do another. So my car will be full of car docs? Imagine if all states start such.
To the best of my knowledge..

..Each state is running its vehicle inspection services.

..The only way you can escape Lagos traffic camera is if you did not register your car in Lagos

I did hackney permit before but didn't renew it,can d camera capture that as an offence too. Thou just did my roadworthiness yesterday and no issue.

Click on it, you will see the offense. One of your documents must have expired by the time the camera captured your number.

Engine Oil – Castrol GTX and Polytron*

Most cars imported are way above 70,000 miles which are not suitable for synthetic oils again. Mazda in one of their booklet I read, it was stated to not service some of their cars with a synthetic oil once the mileage is above seventy thousands miles (70,000 miles).

A right thinking driver will not avoid paying a toll fee of 200naira to taking that long alternative route with bad roads, it just doesn't worth it, you waste fuel, time & you may still face little delay on that road.

No sense avoiding toll fee to take that road at all.
You don't know the road we are talking about, it's not beesam road

Aviod toll free of N200 and pay N500 for even driving into the car lot and driving out to either drop off rider at departure or leave. Most riders going to the airport have luggage so you don't expect they highlight at the car lot by driving into the lot simply because you want to escape not paying a toll.

Besides you can't drive out of any of the airport without making payment so I still still don't understand what you mean.

You can only aviod paying the toll fee if you're going to ikeja from the In't airport by using the back exit, mind you that back road is a total wreck, I hate that road enh... Does using big daddy and accord should aviod that road for the good of their shaft and ball joint
I said for pick ups ooooo not drop off

If you're not going to ikeja then you use front exit and go straight towards ajao estate/apapa oshodi expressway.

The road is not that bad like before, I drive big daddy and nothing has happened. I still pass there yesterday to pick someone. I left from egbeda and took the person to the island. I avoided tolls while coming and going

So painful. Rider was really nice. He followed me to Sura, but when they refused to listen to our plea, he just told me to end the trip. He paid the full money and added extra.

After paying the 20k, I thought of working but my mood and spirit was just too down to work. I just drove home, parked, entered my house, brought out a bottle of beer from the fridge and was watching Netflix on my phone.
That would give you almost instant divine healing grin

Hello All, Pls when trying to pick someone from the arrival terminal of the MMIA, is the best bet parking at the multi-storey level car park and the traveller going to meet the driver at the car park ? or there's a way to pick the traveller somewhere closer to the exit/entrance of the arrival terminal ? I'm not an uber driver, Just asking cos a friend almost got harassed by some touts with a towing vehicle upon dropping off someone at the departure area, and I know the case at the arrival section might be worse.
You can only pick up at the car park, outside is only for drop off. There's a hefty fine for picking up outside the car park and it doesn't matter whether you're commercial or private
