donfortune48: I ain't disputing your facts bro.
With what you've been posting here, they won't really need to contact drivers anymore. We're not really against your motive for posting dashboard here. We just want you to make it available to only the drivers. Not the general public. Let everybody post what they want, it's a free world. Whether they post here or not, what will be will be. Bolt themselves always announce the highest earner every month so what are we hiding. The important thing is he is including the hours spent online to achieve the extraordinary so every wannabe will come prepared. |

Raw2: Laughs out loud.
I knew there was never going to be a succinct fact based reply to the questions posed, but rather, a perambulation of permutations and thinly veiled ignorance presented as "reasons" why forumites cum ehailing drivers should not express their equal rights which includes posting of earnings for fun, or for whatever cogent or non cogent reason they may have for doing so.
If that's your only reason, I'm happy to inform you that, that singular reason is total bullshit. The government doesn't need to view a thread on nairaland to inform their decisions. They are neither dumb nor stupid to allow policy decisions bothering on tax revenue to be decided by a few anonymous posters of earnings on nairaland.
Let's properly delve into facts.
Bolt has about 10,000 drivers. (You don't need to believe me, but if you had made your research, you'd have this information). Applying the 32.5% Nigerian unemployment rate to this figure simply means that 3,250 drivers out of 10,000 are currently out of work. Therefore, I'm very correct to opine that there are 6,750 active bolt drivers driving every week. Hang on to this, for I'm coming back to this info.
Are you aware that since August 20th 2020 that ehailing companies and drivers have been working under a new tax policy?
According to Part 4.1 subsection 5 of the document titled, ‘e-Hailing Taxi Operation’, all drivers must pay 10 per cent generated on every trip to the Lagos State Government
All operators of e-hailing taxi service must pay the state government 10 per cent service tax on each transaction paid by passengers to the operators,” the document partly read. The new policy also mandates all e-hailing taxi firms to pay N25m yearly to the state government per 1,001 vehicles for an operational licence while they will pay N10m yearly for renewal on every 1, 001 cars in their pool
This implies that the state government will collect taxes, licensing fees and then a percentage from every trip completed on these platforms
While operators kick against this provision, if it goes ahead to be implemented on August 20, the real losers will be the customers. Uber and Bolt will pass this 10 per cent cost along to end-users, making cab fares more expensive,” according to TechCabal
The state government also makes it compulsory for all ride-hailing services to make their database accessible to the government
That was excerpts from the punch...
From what you just read above, can you now see that the government already has a database of all our earnings weekly, and that posting them publicly is basically tautlogy? Are you gradually seeing that it's senseless to ask "us" to stop posting earnings?
Can you also now see that you're currently paying 10% tax of every trip to the government and that if they increase taxation, bolt will increase fares thereby protecting you?
Now let's properly calculate.
If there are 6,250 drivers and they make on average 120,000 weekly according to bolt, can you pls calculate 120,000 x 6,250 x 4 weeks ?
Before calculating, average here means the total earnings of all drivers divided by 6250, before you remind me that some drivers make 25k weekly.... Again, Lagos State government is fully aware of these calculations as I reminded you earlier that they aren't stupid...
120,000 x 6250 x 4 = 3 billion naira. Out of 3 billion, bolt charges 20 percent of which they give 10% to govt.
Therefore bolt charges = 600million naira monthly. Out of 600 million monthly, they remit half to the govt. Therefore, bolt receives 300million naira a month.
300m x 12 months = 3.6 billion naira.
Out our this 3.6 billion, they pay 25million yearly and another 60million as per the 10million per every 1001 cars per year. 3,600,000,000 - approx. 90,000,000 = 3.5 billion naira to bolt yearly after everything.
Therefore, on your request to stop posting, the answer is no deal.
For your 25k weekly drivers, it's either they just stop driving all together or they step up their game. It's their personal decision which should by no means whatsoever, dictate to me what I should, or should not do. I can motivate drivers privately but first, I need to harvest them from this cesspit of lies about ehailing driving. I see that the "we" on this thread want discussions to be centered around their own personal frivolities and excesses which benefits nought, to the general viewing public, intending drivers and intending investors.
This is not a game. You either go hard or go home. You either take the heat or get the fvck out of the kitchen. You had to turn the mid-semester test to last semester exam As a result of all the valid points you made I yield |

DMechyy:
Actually, i am currently working on a model where repairs will be fast, and affordable.
And when i mean affordable, i mean: reasonable and affordable.
I have seen enough bashings of mechanics, and the condescending tag ''kazeem''. Of course, paint him bad and look like the best thing after jollof rice.
For this hustle, you need a mechanic that's not cut throat, quality parts that are not expensive and responsive repair time.
The average mechanic is not as bad as they are often painted here. They just need some brushing, improved communication skills, and training.
For this hustle, you shouldnt be paying for packaging. Which is what a number of glorified autoshops are. Go to their tech section, and you still meet the kazeem fixing the car. But this time, you are offered better communication, your complaints taken with promise to address them, and a chance to speak your English and issue threat of sueing if anything goes wrong with your car, since you are already paying through your nose. Truth is, things might go wrong and there's very little you can do.
The model is not to reinvent the wheels.
We are not opening new parts stores, or a logistics company for delivery, nor new autoshops. You are certain to have a shop in your local government. You wouldnt need to drive 50 miles to get to a workshop.
You don't have to repair with us. You can get trusted and quality parts, even provide support for your mechanic.
I am talking about affordable parts
- Stabilizer Linkage : 4k
- Brake Pads front and back for :7k, it is fine if you want wagner brake pads .
- Stabilizer bushings: 1,500
- Shock absorbers : 21k
- Toks ignition coil: 8k
- Toks All Season tyres for: 7-10k
- Of course, you will pay for service!
You dont want your vehicle breakdown, and because you are here and there, there's no mechanic to call that will come in an instance for rescue.
In this model, everyone wins. The car owner, parts sellers, and mechanics. If you want to feel like Dangote, there are enough shops to choose from, they are glad to have you.
If you have ever gotten an estimate from germane, Elizade, Coscharis you will know their service policy is not channeled to cater for an Uber hustle or the average Nigerian
Almost done with the modus for quality affordable parts. New and Toks. Not cut throat. We will make the mechanic in your environ a realistic option.
PS: This is not to take anything away from Standard Autoshops offering quality service. If anyone takes this idea and runs with, and it comes to fruition, it is a win for the industry.
BTW all Parts are currently available. Even if you are not buying from me, use me to know price

I came for TB Joshua's burial program and I am ready to go back home, I set destination and in less than 3mins a trip enters PU: Liasu road, Destination: Ogba Was about calling when her call entered and she sounds all respectful and polite then excited when I told her I was coming. Pearl1910: If the cost is much, Yes. But many times u r stock with a technician for a whole day, sometimes 2days for a repair that costs less than 15k I almost mentioned that too, if cost of repair is very little and time taken is very long. You can't just help but compare how much you're losing not working to how little you want to spend (on repairs) |

So the downtime loss Baba anyday, anytime and twice on Sundays. Imagine your car ball joint (5k-7k should fix this) comot on a Sunday morning. Then It took out the whole day because you couldn’t get a mechanic to work on it on time.
We all know you’d make more than 7k working full day on a Sunday My battery died a painful death on Saturday evening, me that I don't joke with sundays. I got another battery yesterday and indriver came with their own online check palava. Who has done indriver online check and how long did it take them to verify pls? |

Raw2: 1. In clear unadulterated pontifications, define "we". Who they are. What they stand for.
2. State clearly what advantages "we" holds, over the rest of "us" that makes it imperative for their collective opinions to hold sway over the rest of "us" on a public forum.
3. What are the "reasons" that have been deemed a constant, and therefore, impervious to change? Permit me to partake in this mid-semester test lol. 1. We stands for those who are against posting of earnings on dashboard. 2. No advantage, everybody has equal rights. 3. Just one reason.. to avoid encouraging government agencies to tax us out of job. No matter how high the tax is, high earners will comfortably pay it but it will be appropriate (my opinion) if the high earners put the fringe drivers into consideration. There are some who make just 25k weekly but if we give government impression that everybody makes close to 200k weekly they might start duplicating their taxes till the 25k guys won't have any reasonable amount to take home after tax. Conclusion, just a suggestion.. To motivate others, you can invite them to a platform where you're sure it's only the right people you're motivating, or simply tell the house how much you made without posting dashboard, I personally will believe without seeing your dashboard. That way some lazy drivers will be motivated and there will be no concrete data to get government motivated. Whichever way, personally I don't care much about posting or not posting, but if I am to choose, I will choose not posting based on the above reason |

BAZ001: Meanwhile I have an important notice or privileged information from the round table/webinar we just had with bolt officials. ... I got a mail from bolt inviting me for round table meeting since I ve stepped up from lazy drivers geng to Ants.
The info is that “ bolt said they are aware drivers swipe arrive before you get to destination so that your paid waiting will increase and that they will start penalizing drivers from today. It’s Q&A time you can join if you free Dem too mumu. So swiping arrive before getting to destination will now give waiting time of 2k, 4k and so on. But my question this morning is which is more painful, between the cost of repairs and the loss of income due to repairs downtime?
I think cost of repairs will always be more painful unless you are working to meet up a target |
