8months is not a long time. I’m in my 7th month without a ppr response. Mind you I have families in Canada. My mom & elder brother have gone & return. I earn good salary. Sent several mails to them but they keep telling me my application is still in progress. The last response I got from Ircc was that they are prioritizing Express entry & Student visas. That was when I decided I won’t be bothered no more. Ircc just act like the visa is a privilege not a right.

Just comot mind. Me I don comot mind like this. If it comes fine, if it doesn’t, other countries dey that you can visit. For over 6 months I have seen no update on my application from the UK. I have gotten two visa approvals for other countries after my TRV application to CA. It’s crappy delaying people’s planned trip for so long. Canada is not heaven.

MY family Canada visitor visa was approved from london Uk and we are on a UK student visa

Wife and two kids Application submitted on August 31, 2023 AND 5 years visitor approval September 15, 2023 ( just 10 business days )
Mine - Application submitted on September 27, 2023 AND 10 years visitor approval October 25, 2023 ) ( 22 business days )

Both of us acknowledged our U.S A. denials in 2017 and 2019. Initially, I failed to declare mine, prompting me to withdraw the application. Subsequently, I submitted a new application after completing a webform disclosing both the U.S. refusal and the cancellation of the initial application. In total, I submitted two webforms – the first addressing the U.S. refusal and the second addressing the application cancellation. Following that, I proceeded to submit a new application on September 27, 2023.

We spent two weeks in Canada and have now returned to the UK.

So you can wait it out, Or just cancel the application using a webform and reapplying again immediately

Congratulations, the last web form I sent, I was told they have forwarded my documents to the appropriate application centre for assessment. They asked me to contact the London Embassy through a link. Unfortunately when I clicked the link, it’s still old same shii asking me to track the status of my application online. My major concern is when I tried to track my application using the UCI, it says the information I have entered doesn’t match anything on their record or my name doesn’t correspond with what is on my passport page. I’m just in dilemma right now.

As at the time I checked the processing time, it says over 508 days. The reason I’m bothered is because I know someone that did around the same time as me that got a response within 3 weeks.

Have you checked the processing period for people applying from UK? Certainly not , if you have then you will know is too early to be expecting Visa from them.

Hi Gurus in the house, Firstly I wanna say a big thank you to everyone genuinely contributing positively to this platform, you guy’s are heroes. I have been a beneficiary of the tangible information on this platform several times & I’m glad it has saved me a lot of stress and money having lost a fortune to agents in the past. Secondly, I wanna ask if anyone that did biometrics in London is facing the same fate as me. I and my partner were invited by my elder brother who is a permanent resident in Canada for Christmas Holiday but we haven’t heard back from Ircc since July 2023 till now. Several webform has been sent but application still stuck at ‘we are checking your background information’ stage. What could be the cause of the delay? Could it be because I didn’t use an ircc representative? For the record, I have traveled to Benin, Togo, Ghana, UAE, Germany, France, and United Kingdom.

They requested further evidence to prove subsisting, ongoing relationship with my partner so I sent our randomly selected WhatsApp chat, random pictures, wedding pictures, land acquisition in both our names, husband’s uk bank statement to show his address, Receipt of bank transfer of feeding allowance randomly selected from 2020 to 2022.

Dear Gurus in the house make una help me oo, I applied for dependant visa since May 30th, I got NSF mail about additional documents to provide on 20th of June which I replied. Uk visa for students and dependants usually take 4-6weeks due to Ukraine issue so I was very patient. This week which is the 8th week, I started losing my patience because it was taking longer than usual to send my travel documents back so I made a paid call on 18th of July to UKVI, I was told the return of passport will be escalated. I got a pick up mail from TLS yesterday that passport is ready for collection but to my greatest surprise when I am already on my way to pick up my passport today, I got another mail from Shelfieldstudent UKVI whatever that my passport may not be ready yet so I shouldn’t attend VAC for collection yet. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi Gurus in the house, has anyone had a situation whereby dependant visa take up to one and half month? I have gone for biometrics since 30th of May. NSF mail came on 20th of June which I replied on 22nd. Till now application still shows received by DMC when I tracked it even after getting escalated mail last week Monday that a decision has been made, but no letter or BRP will be given since the Vignette is less than 6 months. Has anyone been in my shoes?

Hello gurus in the house, I went for biometrics on 30th of May to join my husband in the uk as student dependant but got a mail on 20th of June to send documents proving a subsisting relationship with him which I did as advised by professionals here. I made a paid call last week Wednesday to know the status of the application and I was told a decision has been made but up till now the application is still at DMC on TLS. I have not received any mail since I sent the additional documents. What can I do?

Hello just wise and gurus in the house, I got this mail today and need advise on the type of document to add in other to support my application. Me & my husband have been dating for 2 years before he moved to the uk on study visa last year September. He came home for marriage January 2022 and I uploaded our marriage certificate and news paper publication while applying for visa but I got a non straight forward mail today stating they need more documents to prove our relationship. What additional documents would you suggest I send to them? Please urgent response is needed. Below is what the decision making centre sent.

I was an addicted gambler too. I started with bet9ja dog race in 2011 and later graduated to virtual football… I went from hero to zero within a space of 6 years. I finally decided to stop in 2017 and with 5 months I was able to save up money to travel out of Nigeria in other to recover my sanity. Now here is what I did; I stopped passing through the shop where I’ll see people gambling, i took eating fruits & traveling as my new hobbies so whatever money I see I just buy fruits, eat and sleep. Within 2 months I became fresher and my ex gambling mates started telling me I look happier so I knew I was doing something worthwhile. I used the other 3 months to save up money from my business then I moved out of the country. Now I dey Europe dey enjoy my life.

I have been gambling since around 2014 and never for once have I ever decided to quit despite destroying my life, career, relationships, and self esteem. It was as if I was cursed with it. I was so addicted to gambling that I'd rather gamble with my money than to buy cloths on my body. I've read so many stories here on nairaland from people who suffered similar faith, but I'd be looking out for comments from people who would say gambling isn't that bad just to encourage myself. Now I'm at level zero. I have no job, no money, no relationship, but friends who are also addicts. I'm cutting them off.

I believe it's not too late for me to make it in life, so I'm believing in God for miracles. Some people might think i can still relapse when i make some money, but so help me God I won't. I have eradicated anything that'd remind me of gambling, deactivated my betting account and focusing on how to make my life better. Betting can never get you rich. It is what I've come to realize anyways.

I don't want to ever return to gambling even when I make enough money. Right now I'm just looking for money to eat and survive.

I hope those going through same would take that bold step and come out of that shell of bondage. It is well.

We plan to apply for visa by mid May but we couldn’t find a close date for the test online. The earliest we could find is 2nd June. Does anyone have useful info about gaté crashing? Does it still work?

Don’t try it. I used my entire life savings to study in the uk. They took all my money and still taking it. You will chase bills till forever. Raise money and start a business in Nigeria ��

When I moved to the U. K for my master. I stay in an flat which consist of many white English boys. So an England boy called Harry decided to show me the equipment in the apartment. So when we got to the kitchen he show me a dish washer which I did not care to look at and he responded that have I see a dish washer before? I was shock and told him of course have seen a dish washer and he reply that I did not want to sound rude but africa are poor and always hungry and I reply him do I look like someone that is poor and hungry and his respond was you are from the rich family in Africa and I told him clearly my parents are not rich that am just an average Nigerian boy and he his reply was it is impossible that you are either rich or poor in Africa and my response was that he should stop believing the propaganda been pass by CNN and BBC about Africa.

After that we bonded and we usually teese ourself and crack jokes. So during December period I was infected with covid 19 which all. Of them in the house have travel to their family home to spend Christmas and new year holiday. So during that mid January on Friday I was in the parlour with my white flatmates and we where just joking and catching fun then we started to talk about covid and I told them during the time they travel I contacted covid and Harry reply that he is going to kill me so I laugh and I thought it was one of the joke but he said he mean it and I started telling him that so do u expect me to call u in your family home and tell u I contacted covid and the others white where explaining to him and this guy started using abusing words against me telling me to return back to Africa and saying some nasty words about Africa and I told him if u have brief with me then challange me and stop picking on my continent and colour and he told me that he is going to insult my colour and continent that if I want to fight him then we should go to the garden to fight as man to man. I was just saying in my mind this man is looking for someone to kill him. I just ignore him and when I stop replying him he just calm down and left. What pain me most was when he left then all the white guys told me his crazy that I should not answer him and I was like when he was insulting me racially all of u where just watching him as if nothing happen. After some time he came back to the parlour and apologise to everyone except me for been a nusiance and after that he wanted to discuss with me and I shouted at him saying back off. After sometime he wanted talking to me and I just ignore him as if nobody is talking and after talking I just close my laptop and gave him a bad gesture and left the palour then he reply that I am looking at him as a vallian that he is not a bad guy.

The next day his girlfriend came visiting him and was smiling at me and i just reply her with a bone face and left. Then after sometime he came apologising to me that what he did to me was wrong that he did it under the influence of acholol which I know but I said to myself for him to say this to me when he was drunk meaning he has been harbouring such thoughts in his mind and the alcohol just gave him the courage to express his racist characters to me. I told him I forgive him but right now I don't trust any English people or white people because for such a guy to laugh and joke with u and still be a racist his something terrible. Abeg make una give bristish chance.

Your best shot is to correct the name on your passport if possible

Hello Friends. I have this issue. On my NECO certificate my name is written as Damilare Mayowa Akinjide but on my international passport, my name is written as Oludamilare Olumayowa Akinjide so the school is asking me to change the name to reflect what I have on my international passport but when I went to NECO for correction they refused claiming they don't do that and I have obtained an affidavit and submitted to the school but they said embassy may not accept. Whoever has been in such situation should help me with an advice. Thanks.

Hi gurus in the house, I have a question that needs urgent answer; If a student in the Uk that applied as a single decides to go back to Nigeria for Registry in order to bring in his or her dependant. Will marriage certificate from any Nigerian registry be accepted for visa or must it be IKOYI registry certificate alone? Has anyone one used certificate from other registry and got their visa without stress?
