Nazgul: Please I want to ask. The oil Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar... etc has, is the same oil we have here in Nigeria?
Cos with the kind of oil and other mineral resources we have in this country, it's almost impossible to believe that Nigeria has one of the lowest GDP per capita in the world. It's citizens are languishing in abject poverty. It's because of our huge unproductive population. Divide $20 billion dollars by 200 million people and divide $60 billion dollars by 3 million people. The answer you get is the reason you are looking for. |

Do you people even realize that it’s not only SW and SE that’s in Nigeria
Because y’all see it like anyone who doesn’t support Tinubu is automatically from Anambra
Do you realize there are sane Yorubas & Hausas on this forum who doesn’t support Tinubu
Do you realize aside SW North & SE there are other states like Bayelsa Delta Edo Rivers Cross River Akwa Ibom etc who are on this forum and doesn’t support the cocaine sniffing bastard
Everyone is now from Anambra
Ediot Majority of people with views like yours are from South East. So, when they lump you together, you should know why. Which makes one wonder why south east people are that desperate. Some have even gone to the extent of using Yoruba names to deceive the gullible. Is it politics, mischief or covetousness? |

obyno82: What bit did Buhari do on regional stability? The sahel region is still very unstable. Under Bubu's nose Guinea, Mali and Burkina Faso had coups he only expressed shock. Now it is happening in Niger too close to home, there's nothing Tinubu can do about it. These coups will happen as long as African leaders keep behaving anyhow, in Nigeria it is only a question of time, there will be a limit to how this hardship and the insensitivity of the political class will go with their stealing and people will start clamouring for military to come back. Right now it is the tribunal they are looking up to, if you don't know even in APC Tinubu is becoming isolated gradually. You are far from reality. No need engaging you. |

Romance › Re: Why Many Young Nigerians Are Not In Relationships by deji17: 5:50pm On Jul 22, 2023 |
Rapmoney: Don't be fooled by social media. Many young people in Nigeria are not in relationships. This includes both male and female genders. It is even worse for people who are above 30 due to so many financial expectations, commitments, bills over bills, poor economy, terrible hard-hitting economic policies by the government, high level of unemployment and inflation. Young people are becoming more withdrawn. There is a fast decline in our social life; I mean how we interact with one another face to face. It will amaze you to know the number of young people who see their electronic gadgets as their partners.
It is pertinent to note that the above mentioned problems have caused a chain reaction in the society where young women now prefer hookup to dating...sex business aka 'If you give me cash, I'll give you the Bermuda Triangle'. You cannot separate poverty/economic hardship from a socially and culturally warped society.
Which way Nigerian youths? I think it's a world wide problem, not economic situation. In fact having a gadget with Internet, place you above the poverty line a bit . The social media is actually making people "anti social" in real world. |

Politics › Re: Fuel Price Hike: “let The Traffic Breathe,” Lagos Residents (video) by deji17: 2:51pm On Jul 20, 2023 |
CaptainFM1: I understand your drift. Perhaps far more people earn less than that. Ours is a country where statistics are cooked up. But you and I know that government is the largest employer of labour in Nigeria, and even the so called minimum wage, several states are still owing workers.
When you start advising masses to do more than two jobs....when will you advise our law makers whose salary and emoluments are over-bloated to take part-time jobs and cut down their pay. When will you advise politicians that have over 500 special advisers that are doing nothing yet consuming tax-payers money? When will you advice electorates that junket round the world on medical tourism and our own health system is collapsing? And indeed when will you condemn the 120 convoys been used by some politicians?
When I say, we the youth are fools, we are indeed fools and the elites and polithiefians know how to tame us. We are really not ready for the country we yearn for.
Lest I forget, where are the metro? How many states is building a metro? Even Lagos that's building something that looks like metro is miles behind herself. Nonetheless, that should have been up and running and every other measures to cushion the effect of subsidy removal should have been in place first before finally removing subsidy. Anyway, this is Nigeria.....we always put the cart before the horse! Without getting unnecessarily emotional, we have to be practical and realistic about the solution we proffer. The same politician were voted for by you and I and sometimes people who did not give us money before election, don't get our votes. And please don't mention, we no dey give shishi, because all na charade. That being said, we can't continue to use those in govt as our scape goat. We have done that for far too many years and it has not brought us any solution. How many businesses have gone moribund because employees including relative and friends connive to steal or even kill the owners? Do you understand that this among other things is at the root of unemployment in Nigeria? The quality and the integrity of the work force is always an issue. The abroad that people runs to, I am sure you have heard of people doing 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. So why can't we do it in Nigeria and raise our income above minimum? More to say, but time no dey. NB. I mentioned that Metro is starting next month in Lagos. Moreover, Lagos is where the population is and other state Govt can follow Lagos example. |

CaptainFM1: Is that the right way to solve traffic? He's just talking rubbish!
He's killing the economy, and this jester think he's solving traffic problem.
If you want to solve traffic problem, you create a functioning metro system. Now people can't go to work. Prices of commodity is at rooftop. Yet, minimum wages is #18,000!
They're just taking us for a fool in this country. Lagos metro will start operation next month. More are still being built. How many people earns minimum wage? Minimum wage is not average wage. Moreover, you can have more than one job or side hustle to increase your income. |
