The history of American billionaires like the Rockefellers, early European and Asian millionaires was similar to what we have now. They all enjoyed huge government patronage and concessions. That is how various industrial revolutions emerged. Everyone knows that Europe was built on rich pickings of colonal dominance. In China today the government does a lot of protection, patronage and comfortable tax regimes for local industry enabling them to compete on a global stage. It is when there is an establishment and expansion of industry with the attendant multiplicity of 'billionaires' that tax regimes become serious and anti-trust measures kick in to create a level playing field. Right now Nigeria is in the 'sowing' stage of industry. In decades to come there will be enough 'players' to set the ground rules and level playing field and the society via government will begin to 'reap' from job creation and harsher tax regimes.

We are not at evolutionary par with these countries you mention.

Hopefully oil will be long gone by then. It is terribly dibilitating to development. I personally believe if there was no oil Nigeria with its population and large pool of talents will have produced far more legit dollar billionaires by now because the government will 'need' the to sustain the industries that create jobs and pay taxes. And much as we all hate white collar fat cats, the nation must raise them to survive and thrive.

well said. i'm an engineering student,i dnt knw much abt commerce,but isn't it common sense for the trade right nt to be on a single group? can dangote group alone work wonders in the economical and industrial growth? DANGOTE GROUP HOLD THE ACE,others are virtually non existent.

1. if you have paid the school fees which you can pay now.....you will be asked to confirm the payment after which you can ride on in creating your account....filling all the forms...cos after you finish filling the forms...it's the print out you will use in starting your registration in school
2. after you are done with the payment of your school fees....and finished the whole account blah blah blah ....printed it out and stuffs like dat...then you can apply for accommodation....an alert will be sent to you within the next 24hours (that's when you applied).....immediately you receive the alert like this and banks are still functioning abeg...go pay am sharply...or else...you go turn operation look for roomates in search for houses

4. of course yes.....i will advice you to do it sharply as you can sha...so it won't clash with your lecturers and reading time...abeg start to dey jerk like say tomorrow no day at the instance of the commencement of lecture....5.0 sure die

(1)Tax would ruin him
(2)Trading laws wouldn't be centralised on him.
Though,i'm an under graduate,and a late teen,but am planning to buy shares. it would be dangote shares cos he rules trade in Nigeria.The govt. mk laws that favours him,he supports them. . .i don't wanna say this,bt i think DANGOTE IS BENEFITING SOMETHING FROM THIS GOVT. (2)if I were to apply for accomodation,when do i have to pay?
(3)when do u pay?after account creation,before or during?
(4)if I were to live off campus,does that mean that i can do my reg. and school fee payment anytime before matric?
(5)when is the ultimatum for school fee payment?and when does the school portal opening?
(6)the tablet,any idea about when we would be given after payment?
NOTE:i just sleep wen ever i remember these things,and am confused and demoralised abt the uni. subsequent questions would be asked as i deem it fit. Thanks

Since i was a kid,i've loved electronics. I once miraculously fixed our DVD when i was 15. I jst got admitted to study electrical/electronics at a federal uni. Now, mr acorntree,i researched on and found out that we'll learn how to programme using visual basic,bt me,i jst recently started learning c++,cos i see to like it(i can't get a compiler on the laptop,cos aint got mney 4 sub&modem z 4 my bro).my question is:can't u programme using c++? And also,why VB?
