PASSIONATE APPEAL TO DISQUALIFY & RESTRAIN FORMER GOVERNOR ROTIMI AMAECHI FROM BEING SCREENED BY THE SENATE.

I humbly and respectfully make this passionate appeal as a bonafide son of Rivers State specifically from Omoku Town in Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area. I am not a politician, not a registered member or sympathizer of any political party or interest group in Rivers State but I am a concerned Rivers Son who just believes that based on common sense and morality, the person of the former Governor of Rivers State; Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi should be disqualified, restrained and prevented from the much expected Senate screening if eventually his name (as being speculated) makes the President’s list of Ministerial nominees to be screened by the Upper Legislative Chambers anytime soon.
Sirs, as representatives of the people of Rivers State, we count on your God’s given wisdom to ensure the right thing is always done at whatever level or circumstance irrespective of who is involved. Recall Sirs, how we were all witnesses to the fact that before the former governor left the helm of affairs of the State, every facet of work Force, contractors and students studying abroad to mention but a few were owed huge salary arrears, government indebtedness was the order of the day, failed monorail project, closure of the Courts, highhandedness and flagrant disobedience of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry etc were the ‘parting kiss’ the former governor gave the people of the state who voted him and supported his administration for more than 7 years.
Sir, while I personally believe the former governor has the right to belong to any political party of his choice, I don’t believe he still holds the moral justification to sit in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) as a representative of the State according to the Federal Character as enshrined in our constitution.
We the good and peace-loving people of Rivers State would therefore be counting on you to do the needful and allow justice to prevail over injustice in your own little way by ensuring he is disqualified.

Yes. Except president and vice president, governors and deputy governors, all other elected officials have no immunity.

2. The Supreme Court is the highest court, and, I may be wrong but I thought they resolved the issues bordering on immunity clause?

Am not aware of any case of such before the court

I'm not a fan of Wike, as I even prefer the personality of Amaechi to his, but it still doesn't make Amaechi innocent. He wasted Rivers state money, and it would be unfair for him to be 'rewarded' with a political appointment.

Throughout his second term as Rivers governor, Amaechi did almost nothing, worse still when he joined APC.

Be it first or second term. The husband of Judith in first term remained the same husband for second time and he remains the best Rivers governor in her history in terms of infrastructural development. The same man in pdp chose to go to apc. Deal with it.


He wasted over 20 billion of Rivers state money on a mono rail which he knew from the onset that it wasn't needed. He only initiated that project as an avenue to loot funds.

Though I never supported the monorail from day 1 and I still don't support it but at least the project is there for all to see. Considering the billions spent in compensating indigenes whose buildings were demolished in this choice area of ph, 20 billion with what is on ground today isn't out of place. The first phase is 90% complete. Are u blind to see it? If wike chooses not to continue to other phases as expected that's it's cup of tea however if amaechi is asked where monorail money went to, it's visible for all to see.

He can't. The panel was given terms and restrictions on what they will do. Any reference to what they weren't mandated will be overuled. Amaechi isn't dumb. He knows this so it will be extremely foolish for him to have appeared. Besides, the show of shame is over. What has it acheived?
