Nairaland GeneralRe: Have You Ever Felt Like A Day Has Happened Before? by DEKING3(m): 11:10am On Feb 08, 2006
Just like truthhurts says, in my own case it kind of happens in a dream. Like I dreamt the same thing with the same people and the same sceanario. When I wake up from sleep, I'll try as much as possible to remember the first one and compare it to the second but to no avail. After some time, I'll simply try to forget it.

@Lizzy, don't be scared nothing bad will happen to you. o.k?

Forum GamesRe: Top Ten Nairalanders! by DEKING3(m): 8:02am On Feb 03, 2006
This is really good and I like it but the little problem about this thread is that it would be unfair embarassed for those whom you've not come in contact with either directly or indirectly, besides, some really cool and nice people might not be very consistent on the forum which might not be their fault eventhough they could be really sweet. I'm not trying to spam this thread or something, just looking out for others.

By the way, what's the criteria for the top 10? People who've been on NL for a long time might have a problem deciding on that. undecided Could someone help out?

RomanceRe: Love, Attraction or Infatuation: Which Comes First? by DEKING3(m): 6:18pm On Jan 23, 2006
True about the infatuation thing. Some get infatuated at first and that's why if they get into the relationship, they'll get out saying " I didn't know that was how he/she was. The truth remains that it's still attraction of some sort that starts whatever you feel up. That's why you've got to watch with widely open eyes. shocked
RomanceRe: How Nice Should I Be To Someone Who Jilted Me? by DEKING3(m): 6:02pm On Jan 23, 2006
I would rather take it from this perspective. If you become friends with this guy, be ready to be won back to him. This is someone whom you once shared something with and for you to have shared something with him and feel the pain this much, then being his friend means you could be vulnerable to his talks.
Ask yourself if you really want to be his friend now.
Secondly, define the level of the friendship.

Whether you believe it or not, if you hate someone so much and think about him often, he rules a great portion of your life.

Think!!!

EducationRe: NUC Stops 102 Varsity Programmes by DEKING3(op): 2:59pm On Jan 23, 2006
@ Ocho - actually according to Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola, those undergraduates in the affected course would be allowed to finish so, in otherwords, they are not affected by it. However, students who apply for such courses in schools that were affected from henceforth would have themselves to blame as they've been strongly warned not to do so.
FamilyRe: Rich Marrying Rich, Poor Marrying Poor: Way Forward? by DEKING3(m): 8:40am On Jan 23, 2006
I believe that is gradually changing these days especially with the enlightened, rich or poor. But I strongly believe that the children involved have the bigger role to play. If you really love someone and want to stick to him or her, get your mind made up and let your parents know it. Afterall, they can't bundle you into a family you don't want to go to.
RomanceRe: Inter-tribal Marriages: What's Your Take? by DEKING3(m): 4:01pm On Jan 20, 2006
I would say if and only if I could, I'ld marry Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa representing and promoting unity between the tribes but because personally I can't and won't, I would marry which ever comes my way.

A piece of advice for those who are already in and those prospective of this kind of relationship to be sure they sit down and decide to deal with any form of opposition that would arise, because, believe you me, they would surely come from either or both sides.
When two agree as to a thing, it would surely work for them.

EducationRe: NUC Stops 102 Varsity Programmes by DEKING3(op): 11:34am On Jan 18, 2006
@ Adetola, simply click the link in my 1st post above and read more about it. Actually, for those who are already doing the courses, they would be allowed to complete their programmes but for new intakes, students have been warned not to apply for those programmes recently denied accreditation. I'm afraid that your sis might be affected by this. Sorry about that but I think she could go and obtain a change of institution form from JAMB and be sure of any other institution she's going to choose.
EducationNUC Stops 102 Varsity Programmes by DEKING3(op): 12:00pm On Jan 17, 2006
Hey guys, 102 university programmes have been stopped by the National Universities Commission in Nigeria after a recent evaluation of programmes. 26 universities where affected by this for falling short of prescribed minimum standard. shocked

The worst hit is university of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, which lost 24 out of its 56 programmes.

University of Ibadan got 33 programmes accredited, 18 with interim accreditation while only one course, Law, was denied accreditation.

Igbinedion University, Okada had no programme accredited but five had interim accreditation.

Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola, said if after two years, the deficiencies are not remedied, the programmes with interim accreditation would automatically revert to denied status.
He warned candidates not to apply for the affected programmes through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the 2006/2007 University Matriculation Examination, pre-degree or diploma programmes.

RomanceRe: Why Do Men Lie? by DEKING3(m): 11:27am On Jan 10, 2006
First, not all guys lie, so let's drop all that crap about all guys lying.
Second, some girls are too materialistic and so wants to associate with the rich and happening guys in town so, the guy would have to make up some flambouyant stories to please her.

Lastly, some of these guys do it to raise their shoulders even when a babe is not involved. Just for some form of overshooted recognition.

I would never lie to get any girl, even if she's the prettiest in the world. What guarantees that the relationship will offer my satisfaction either in the short run or long run? Would I have the face to stand when the balloon gets bursted? undecided
